Came to this location to get a new phone after my old one got jacked up from being dropped screen down. While it still worked, the biometrics didn't and that is something I use all the time. So figured it was time to get a new phone. The folks at this location were nice, but it is slow as hell, not because they are slow, but the customers are. The day I was there, there was a man who had signed up for an internet plan but had no idea what it was about or why he had it. He claimed that someone at the location got him to sign up for the service, but he had no way to access it. He was trying to get it canceled and to get the bill dropped since he had not used it. The AT&T woman told him that she couldn't do anything for him and he would have to call customer service. Eventually he did there at the store, and she and I talked him through the proper responses as he was about to agree to some different stuff. A woman who could not get her earbuds to work on her phone. Another man had no idea how to turn his ringer off his phone. Another woman who could not figure out to connect her wired headphones with bluetooth. I will say that the AT&T people were nice and very patient with them. I was ok with the service I had and the they were nice enough to let me go next door to Subway to get lunch and bring it there to eat. I was transferring my data from my old phone to the new one. Don't do that folks, not at this location. Their WiFi connection is slow as hell and it took about 2.5 hours to complete the process. And I have to say it was funny that the people working there were also having issues with the connection. Helping out the man who had the internet service he didn't want helped to kill some time. The Doctor also went there to get a new phone but we did his transfer at home and it was much smoother. read more

My college-age son was visiting Chicago and when he was about to leave town in the evening, his phone screen went green. By some miracle, he ended up at the Chicago Wilson Yards AT&T store at 4422 North Broadway street. He was served by a gentleman named Christian, who was very patient in helping my son while connecting my husband and I on the phone in Maryland as we navigated the process of replacing our son's phone. Christian went over and above to ensure the process was painless. We have been long time AT&T customers and this is the best service we have received so far. read more

I have found AT&T is like all the other phone planes that have contracts.... A headache, expensive and not worth paying monthly payments for a phone. My partner and I got scammed at a big box store simply walking in & being pounced on by two representatives who/an "awesome deal", allegedly with "no contracts"... they said... "keep your phone, will send you a new one".... This was 2 years ago.... When I got the first bill it blew my mind! We both are elderly, on a fixed budget & cannot afford $200+ monthly phone bills!! Everything about my transaction with this store was a fail. I thought the entire transaction he was professional and knowledge Derek Blount was the associate. He sold me a charger that isn't compatible with my phone, a screen protector that I couldn't use because it didn't recognize my touch, and tacked on insurance that I specifically told him I didn't want. Diversey location had no idea what they were talking about and caused me to lose my phone number (that I've had for 10 years) when switching from Verizon to AT&T. I now have to deal with a new phone number because the rep at the Diversey location had no idea what he was talking about. Since there are so many AT&T reviews of particular stores, it is hard to know where to place this review. This review is specifically about AT&T's new Family Pricing Plans ... in a few words WATCH OUT. The new Family Plan they have hit the airwaves with is four smart phones with 10g of shared data for $160 per month...on the surface a neat plan. It calculates out to be $100 for the 10g shared data and $15 for each phone ... a $25 discount off the usual $40 per phone. What they don't say - other than in some small print where you'd never read it - is that if you change phones AFTER setting up this plan your new phone will revert to the higher price of $40 ... but if you change phones BEFORE you choose this plan you can keep the pricing. I felt I was snookered a bit. I got the four phones for $160 and then changed my out-of-contract phone to a newer one ... my rate then went up by $25 more dollars making it that $40 for my phone or $185 now on the plan. If you take it out for the two year commitment, that means you'll pay $600 ($25 x 24 months) over the term for that one phone upgrade. I am not saying don't use AT&T, just watch their offers because they are laden with little traps for you. Just sayin'. read more

I love this location - they have always been super helpful and friendly. I just bought phones and plans for my family online and wanted to add an Apple Watch for my dad for Fathers Day. They didn't have the one I wanted in stock but made some calls and boom, I walked out with the watch. Veronica M was great! I think it was the manager that helped me because he was basically by himself on the floor. He was so rude to me. He sighed. Did not want to help me figure out a claim. He was getting frustrated with me and was not listening to what I was saying. So other than this being the worst cell phone service I have ever had, miss Verizon, this was the worst customer experience I have ever had. Do not go to this location. No not get At&T. This is first ATT store where customer satisfaction is the goal. They find the device that matches your needs. Like all businesses they will suggest accessories. They take all the time needed to serve you after purchase to resolve any questions, operation, problems. Don't try the online support. I've found online they don't have required knowledge to resolve anything no matter if simple or complex issue. You will be online for long periods of time and outcome less than satisfactory. If going into store or appointment ask for Roland. He resolved any issues or question When i needed help. He remembers customer's name and previous issues. I've got prepaid sim card from target and it didn't work so i went back to the target and asket but they said I've gotta go to At&t so i went there they said they have no idea about prepaid if i dont know the phone number like (what the hell!????) how the hell i know about the phone number since i scanned it to buy from target. No number written down on the sim card. The card has so many different bunch of number, codes and etc etc... i asked them to check the number through the system and help but a racist younger women keep saying no clue about the prepaid and it's not a thing that they know about? Again... how are you representing yourself as a customer agent or manager at the shop!???? So i called support center they also said go to At&t and bring the codes so they would be able to help you. Absolutely stellar service. We came in to switch from T-Mobile and it was a long process of calling T-Mobile for information, porting numbers, setting up plan discounts, and all that fun stuff. For some reason, T-Mobile wasn't too eager to release our numbers, and we were in the store for 2+ hours. However, Tina Grangenois was such a rock star. She stayed 45 minutes past store closing time, on top of the fact that she was supposed to leave an hour before closing. That's almost 2 extra hours to ensure new customers are happy - AND, she gave me her cell phone number and asked me to call her if the set up didn't work. She is seriously the best. The other staff that stayed on to wait to close were very friendly too - I've come across this level of service at cellular retail stores...never? Until this store at least. [GO SEE TINA!]* * Make sure to schedule an appointment if you're going to be setting up a service. There are 2 waiting lists - appointments and walk-ins. So, walk-ins had to keep waiting to speak to someone, even though I arrived after them. It's super easy. Looks like you can do it on Yelp too. read more

After getting passed on from rep to rep over the phone just to return a U-Verse equipment I canceled on the same day I ordered it. They finally instructed me to go to a store. When I entered the store a saleswoman, Cindy marched up to my mother and I to say she couldn't help because the store was closed (6:40pm). She directed me to an iPad and told me I could "quickly" search phone insurance. While I was on the iPad, Olga approached and offered to check us in. She was friendly. Meanwhile, Cindy finished with her client, looked over at us and walked away. When the other salesman, Arthur finished with his customer he came right over to greet us and ask how he could help. I was at the store to help my mother, who is clueless about cell phones. Arthur was so patient, extremely nice, very knowledgable and helpful. I had to give this store 3 stars, because Cindy's rudeness is just unacceptable in my opinion. Someone should let her know she works in sales. I was feeling the pressure; I had to choose a salesperson; would the others feel rejected; should I interview them? BEWARE This is not a true AT&T store. They just sell product. They DO NOT stand behind their product even within 48 hours. Purchased a Samsung Galaxy S6 and had the salesperson put phone in an Armour Case. Within 48 HOURS noticed the camera lense was shattered. The store would not do anything even though they put the phone in the case they suggested. I am sure the camera lense was shattered prior to leaving the store. The manager would not even return numerous phone calls. The don;t care once they receive their money. Called AT&T and they were very apologetic and said if it was a corporate store they could replace it. Do not go to this store go to a real AT&T store. This was an Absolutely the Worst Experience. Save yourself some headache and time and do not go here. As a parent of a college student who attends a private university I do not have this money to throw away. read more

My experience at this store was poor. I recently switched to AT&T and purchased an iPhone. I was quoted $149 per month for my plan (including 2 lines), but my first bill was $266. There were many fees on the bill that were not explained by the sales rep. After spending an hour on the phone with customer service, they removed the $72 in one-time activation fees, but they couldn't do anything about the remaining fees. My actual monthly bill will be around $175, approx. 20% higher than I was quoted. While I love the iPhone, this left a bad taste since I expected the salesrep to provide a truthful estimate of my monthly bill. read more

This time I decided to go through AT&T to get my next iPhone 7 Plus and I'm so glad I did! The customer service was top notch, beginning with a warm welcome the second I opened the door. The salesperson answered all of my questions and helped me compare payment options to decide on what's best for my budget. He also presented additional services in a way that didn't seem "salesy" and there was no pressure to add on any services he presented. I had been living in exile with my blackberry for years. I was planning on upgrading to the iPhone 4Gs as soon as I was able to, which was at the end of April. So when I dropped my BB on Saturday night and it refused to turn on again at the end of March, I was hoping I could upgrade slightly earlier than planned. It was of dire necessity that I get a new phone immediately, as I only have a mobile phone and I was going on vacation in 2 days, driving to FL from Chicago for my sister's wedding. I called two other stores first (closer in proximity to work and home) and for two very different reasons was not able to be helped by either of them. Calling this store was my last hope...... TOTALLY HOOKED ME UP!!!!!! They had the phone I wanted in stock and didn't balk at the idea of an early upgrade. I went in on my lunch break, got the new iPhone, a case and brief tutorial from Rose(its been awhile, so I hope this is her name). I'm very happy with the service we received at this new AT&T store! We were just stopping in to ask a few questions and weigh the options on a new plan and some new phones. Our salesperson, Alex, was friendly and charted out the options for us. I tend to get very confused in situations like this. I never felt any kind of pressure from him, I really felt that he was just tyring to help us sort through the options. We felt so comfortable working with Alex that we walked out with a new plan and two new IPhone 4S's! I can't recommend Alex enough -- he was so so so helpful and easy to work with. read more

I went to this store today to order DSL Internet for my new apartment. I was greeted by Mark, who helped me carry out my transaction. He was super friendly and able to answer all of my questions. Best of all, he didn't try to sell me anything other than Internet. No phone, no TV, etc. He didn't even try to upsell me on the plan I picked nor try to talk me into the contract (but in the end, I was so pleased with his customer service that I opted for both the higher plan and the contract). I was out of there in less than 10 minutes. The experience was like a breath of fresh air. Thank you, Mark, for such a good experience at your store. It's so nice not to feel pressured to buy things--and you almost always get badgered and pitched at when you go into a store that sells phones or TV plans. Probably the best experience I've ever had with AT&T! I came in with my mom to buy the iPhone 4S for my upgrade. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Eddie was the sales person helping me out. He was really nice and even called to follow up and make sure everything is working right and that I'm happy with my new phone. There were some technical issues involved with the upgrade. We were the first customers to do the upgrade on the new system, so the process took a while. However, Eddie and Shameka (the manager, who was very sweet!) were very helpful throughout the whole process and made sure all the glitches were sorted out. Shameka even offered to waive the upgrade fee for the trouble. Overall, great experience - we will be back again if anyone else in the family needs a new phone! read more

Went here to get a new phone for a friend. Parking: street nearby. Make sure you have enough time on your meter. You might be in there a while. Wait: about 20 minutes. Although there are a lot of people working there only a few can actually sell or handle customers. Salesperson: we had Arthur. He was great and broke everything down into terms we could understand. Felt very comfortable with the new phone and contract. He wasn't overly pushy on superfluous upselling either. Location: while I wouldn't go here after dark. During the day it's fine. The store is a good size and easy to find. I wish they could page you when your turn was up so you could go to the nearby Starbucks. Overall: best experience in a wireless store so far. read more

I strongly advise anyone seeking wireless service to avoid ATT like the plague. Unfortunately, more than 10 years ago I made the choice to do business with them. The service is spotty, the customer service is officious, the prices are high... I spend a minimum of $300 a month on service. But if I'm traveling on business that can double or even triple. I have always paid, am seldom late, but recently seem to have missed a payment. They abruptly cut off my service and when I called them up about it they were beyond obnoxious. I tried to reason with them - I've paid them at LEAST $30,000 in fees over the years. But they absolutely refused to turn my service back on without an immediately payment. I had already put in for a payment with my check-paying service and told them so - it's a service I've used for 15 years. But no, not unless I paid them NOW. If they treat somebody who has been with them for a decade and spends thousands of dollars with them every year like this, think about how they are going to treat you. My wife and I went to the uptown store to add a line to her account and buy a new phone. We were helped by Eric and he was fantastic. Worked with us to figure out the best deal. We had problems porting my number from tmobile (mainly because I didn't have all my info), and several people were helping us figure it out. We had to stay late to get it done. No one seemed to care about staying after. Eric was very helpful and courteous. So was the rest of the crew and the security guard. I didn't catch any other names unfortunately.
