First, I'd like to share my experience at the AT&T store in Fountain Valley. I walked in feeling completely frustrated and overwhelmed honestly, on the verge of tears after this nightmare I was going through with AT&T in Best Buy after receiving misleading and false information from Best Buy's AT&T service. After countless phone calls to AT&T customer service, I was losing hope that anyone would actually be able to help me. From the moment I walked in, Bryan P. was warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. I explained everything that had gone wrong and the incorrect information I had been given, he immediately took the time to listen. Bryan patiently guided me in the right direction and helped me understand where to begin in what turned out to be a long process to fix my bill. Went in for an upgrade. They didn't have it in stock so we attempted to place an order. They promised we only had to pay the sales tax. Yet somehow when the time came to pay it was the full price of the phone. When we came to pay I offered my credit card and Bryan states "don't worry about it Im sure you're good for it". That's very off putting as a customer. Then they had us come back the next day claiming it was an issue with their system. We come back the next day and they still can't g figure out how to work their own equipment. . The manager had to step in and walk them through the process. I provided my entire address 3 times throughout this process. They still did not include it in the order and the phone was returned to sender and we have to start the whole process over again. When sending code for verification purpose he didnt send the code to my personal number but he chose to send to the number I lost. I had a problem with accessing voicemail on my iphone and had called Apple to ask for help, when they told me it was a "carrier problem", and I should either go to an AT&T store, or call 611. I decided to go to the AT&T store across the street from me, on Adams Avenue in Huntington Beach, where I had originally procured my iphone. I hadn't been there in years, so it was a new trial for me there, and I was very disappointed. I recall when I first went there, years ago, the person who I dealt with displayed incompetence, as when he attempted to transfer all of my phone contacts from my old flip-phone to the iphone (at that time, an iphone 7), something went wrong and many of my contacts were lost. But that was years ago, as I stated. This time, when I went to the Adams Avenue location, it was a Monday, around 12:30 PM, so I figured they'd be a bit busy. I went in and was told by a young lady that I would be taken care of after they were through with another customer, and one waiting. I sat around waiting for my turn, and it took so long I decided to leave and go next door for some pancakes, and return. When I returned, there were still just a single customer waiting, and one being taken care of. I sat down again, waiting my turn. It took quite a while, and finally, I decided to leave rather than continue wasting time. I went out to the car and looked up the AT&T stores on Yelp. I found that every store in my area had only gotten 3 stars out of 5, and that the main complaint was that people felt they weren't getting adequate attention. I felt the same way, so I began to look for a store with a higher rating. One came up, which was the location on Newhope, nearby, across from the local Costco. That location got 4 stars, and many 5 star reviews. I decided to drive there. I was not disappointed. It's a smaller store, with fewer customers since the location is a bit hidden. When I arrived, Jerry immediately approached me and offered his assistance, calling me "boss". (I actually hate that term, though his intentions were good). I explained my problem with voicemail, and he quickly stepped me through some things, including setting up a password. I was in and out in around ten minutes, and felt as if I'd discovered a hidden gem. This location is definitely the best of all those in my area. Newhope AT&T rocks! read more

Very helpful group of gentlemen. Pierce was the agent who helped me with my order and showed great consideration and kindness when hearing of my item that was stolen. I happened to come in on an out of ordinary busy hour, but everyone greeted me and ensured I was helped. Mentioned it was a great location to come to if you want to miss crowds at other busy street intersection locations. This one is tucked away and has great customer service. **UPDATE: I just spoke with AT&T Customer Service. Apparently, the $60 flat (taxes and fees included) cost for the Unlimited Elite plan that Barbara quoted me and showed me on her iPad, was not the plan she signed me up for and it doesn't even exist. There's a $75 Unlimited Starter plan and there's a $95 Elite plan. With some added discounts for paperless billing, it still doesn't equal the $60 she quoted me. Also, there was no $8.99 mystery insurance charge ever charged to me. I don't know where Barbara got the impression that there was one. It's just not there. I feel really deceived by Barbara. The AT&T customer service rep I spoke with on the phone said this happens ALL THE TIME, where they have to fix what the store reps misquote to people in person. If they quote you something in the store, I suggest asking for a printout of what they're showing you on their iPads. OLD REVIEW BY MISINFORMED ME: This review is for the amazing customer service I received from Barbara. I went in to activate a new phone and she was super patient with all of my questions. She went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and comfortable that all my questions were answered. She also pointed out to me that I have an $8.99 insurance plan on my account. I was not aware of this. It doesn't show up as an itemized charge on my bill and I definitely did not authorize it. So I'll have to make an extra call to AT&T about that because all she could do on her end was cancel the service. 5 stars for Barbara's customer servic, 1 star for AT&T was adding unauthorized charges for who knows how long. read more

After spending 3 hours at another AT&T store and another hour on the phone without success, these guys were finally able to help me out and were efficient. I was in and out in 2.0 minutes with everything done properly. After hearing about my complicated experience, Cyrus, the manager, quickly stepped in to help me and was friendly and professional. Long story short... went to Costco. They had an amazing deal on changing to AT&T.. since I no longer needed to have ties to my older company which I had been with since 1999 without any loyalty discounts, I decided to change companies. I did not realize it was a third-party vendor, but nonetheless, the guy was great. The problem occurred two days later when the phones were stolen off my front porch. After spending hours reporting the theft, I called back a couple days later to see if everything was processed and I could go to an in-store place where I could actually pick up the phones, they told me I could. I went to the Huntington Beach store where Shawn Lepard spent hours trying to figure out how to help me. He was very patient and did an amazing job but in the end was unable to help us because someone needed manager clearance. He was on the phone with the manager, but the manager couldn't help him long distance. So, he made arrangements on our behalf for me to go to the Fountain Valley store the next day where Christian Medina was amazing!!! it took many hours and a bit of frustration, but everything got straightened out, and I am so grateful for their help. I i'm now on the first responder network. We have six devices instead of three and without the insurance we are only paying five dollars more per month versus the three phones I had on the other service plan. Highly recommend the AT&T promotions and both the Huntington Beach and Fountain Valley stores especially Christian at Fountain Valley who is so knowledgeable taking care of things to assist the customer. Since I had already been several hours in the store. and I needed to get back to work, I had to set up the phones, not in the store. I went to this store to upgrade my phone and keep my existing plan. The store manager ,"Romio", is dishonest, conniving, and unprofessional. Be sure that you ask and insist to get a hard copy of your monthly charges before you sign anything. He added two services to my account by misleading and lying to me . Watch out for a $15 monthly insurance and a $5 next up fee. He will charge you for it but you have to insist that you don't want it. Walk away if he refuse. I have to deal with customer service the day after to cancel these charges. They said it is not mandatory and he was not supposed to force you. I am still dealing with them still since it takes forever for ATT to fix the issue. I have written a formal compliant to ATT and they provided me a contact for the parent company of this store so I will make a formal complaint to the store's parent company as well. It's been 5 days since I visited the store and was swindled by "Romio" and ATT still hasn't fixed these charges. Read below for details of my experience. After I completed my phone purchase, Romio asked me to sign on the pad again. I asked him why I'm signing a second time around, and he said this is to activate my account. I told him I am keeping my existing plan so I asked him why am I signing something that is already in place. I asked him explicitly and directly if he is adding services to my account he said no, BUT there is a $15 monthly insurance fee that is mandatory for the first month but it's free. I explicitly told him that I am differing that fee and any other fees that he has added. He said: " you can't defer since it is mandatory". He said it is free for the first month, and then I need to call ATT and ask them to take it out after 30 days. That's a trigger for me that this guy is going to swindling me. So, I asked him to print my invoice so I can see the itemized charges, he just looked at me and said "everything will be in your email". I insisted, and he said "I will send everything to your email". At this point he already wasted 15 mins of going back and forth. For the sake of argument I let it be. The following day, I called ATT (611). ATT customer service personnel was so helpful and she explained to me that there were 2 additional monthly service that "Romio" added in my plan: a) $15 monthly insurance fee and b) a $5 next up fee. I asked customer service if the insurance is mandatory . She said it is not mandatory. I asked her if the first month is free. She said it is not. I asked her to take out the service which she did. Then, she asked if I wanted the next up fee. I told her that I don't know what that fee is for. Apparently "Romio" added the fee without asking me first. She explained what "next up" fee means. I told her that i am not interested and I asked her to take that service out. She has to put me on hold. She came back and said that since it was added, I can either a) go back to the store and have them rescind it, or b) wait 14 days and l call "611" and ask to take it out and get a credit back. I don't want to go on the store so I will wait 14 days and call again. Please note that this complaint is about the manager only. He is unprofessional, misleading, and provided poor customer service. Also note, that he smokes his vape inside the store in 3 occasions. Now I Have to deal with att to be sure that these fees that Romio added will not show up. I have to watch my account for the next 30 days and spend and waste time fixing my account because of the dishonesty and greediness and I unprofessionalism of this store manager. We Went in the other day to cancel my husband business plan. I was paying too much money for a monthly plan. Now that he's retired I needed to make some adjustments and find a better plan for us. Salesman Victor Fuentes was professional and friendly he took he's time to explain the plans and offered us incentives for new iPhones too. Actually everyone in the store is friendly and work together as a team from assistant manager To all the sales people. We were very happy with the great customer service and we love our new iPhones. I had to go in to the store 3 times - 3 days in a row to get my new first responder account started . Finally after everything was done I was on my way home and wanted to test if my new phone with the new first responder line was working or not . I tried calling my office and hospital and there was no service!!! I went back and the guy who had set this up was busy with another customer abd he politely asked this sales associate/ manager Syrius or Cyrius to help. When I was explaining to him about all the work done by the previous sales associate this syrius / Cyrus guy was extremely rude to me telling me that I was bickering which was totally inappropriate! I had spent at-least 6 hours in that store 3 days in a row and was frustrated but I wasn't bickering! It was extremely rude of this guy to tell me I was bickering! Very disappointed. My husband and I visited the store for a review and to make a change to our plan. We were greeted quickly by the manager and our salesperson Nick. They were both extremely helpful and knowledgeable. We left with an updated plan and a new, less costly monthly charge. Before this we had visited the AT&T store on Beach Blvd where we would have had a wait of over an hour to even speak to someone. I came to the Fountain Valley Newhope location on Jan 11th to get my phone upgraded. I checked my bill 4 days ago to make the payment and found two services added to my plan without my consent! The $15 insurance monthly plan and the $5 upgrade step up monthly plan. The Sales Rep that helped me was Alyssa and the store Manager Alicia was assisting her at the time with my upgrade. Alyssa tried to sell me on the 4 device pack insurance deal but I assured her and Alicia that I was firm on getting Apple care + and if I changed my mind I would come back. That being said... why did they add insurance for my phone I upgraded?! Alyssa never discussed with me what the upgrade step up $5 monthly plan was either. I kept asking Alyssa to show me the breakdown for my bill and she seemed nonchalant about it and told me that it would be my regular bill except the additional cost for the $42 upgrade and $20 deduction for signing up for autopay. In the future, I recommend that you should always demand for a hard copy of your monthly charges because you'll never know what they could be adding on their iPads without showing you. After finding out these charges I immediately called ATT customer service to remove the services. The rep told me that my bill was already set and that I would have to wait for the following billing cycle to be credited to my account. Today, I checked my ATT app and only saw $5 set to being credited for the next billing cycle. I had to call ATT customer service again to make sure that the $15 insurance plan will be credited. The rep told me that it's being processed and to wait after Feb 11th for the credit to appear for the next billing cycle. This is all such a hassle that I have to continually check to make sure I'm not being SCAMMED! The rep was kind enough to help me with filling out a form to complain to corporate. I also went on yelp to look for the store number to speak to a Manager about what had happened. I found a customer yelp review 23 days ago with the same problem of being charged for these two services and was helped by a different Manager!! I'm beyond upset and disappointed how disloyal this location is running their business. I spoke with Geo the manager to let him be aware of what happened, he apologized and said these services get automatically added and that Alyssa must of overlooked it to un-select it. He also denied the previous yelp complaint, and said it was for a different location. To be realistic this all sounded like bs. I never had to experience a situation like this. I hope corporate looks into this location, evaluate procedures and retrain their employees and upper management. read more
