This store added an unauthorized line instead of upgrading a line as we requested just for a "sale/commission." Denise DiMatteo is a legal liability for AT&T. There is no way someone so unprofessional and unethical should be put into a position that would legally bind AT&T for her despicable conduct. She refused to accept a return even when directed to do so by AT&T corporate. Denise lied and said that only a manager could process a return; no one else could help us. Then Denise after mocking us and refusing to process the return, snuck out of the store on the last day the item was eligible for a return, and told her Assistant to tell us, "she's gone for the day and won't be back for a few days, so Denise WON'T do the return." Denise INTENTIONALLY sabotaged our return and cost us over $1k. Watch your back with this store and Denise. Corporate wrote TWO grievances against this store AND Denise for failing to follow AT&T policies. read more

Went to the large ATT store in Elmwood. 9am Monday 12/19/22 Would give the 2 male employees a -10 in customer service I needed to set up att Fiber and direct tv streaming at a new residence since we have moved from Alaska with a satellite dish. Our old plan was put on hold as we had a federal employee s transfer. They told me they could not answer any questions and I needed to call customer service. Well aren't the employees suppose to help with customer service They gave me the number but when I wanted to call the number and ask about the plan they had on their desk. They told me I had to leave the store and call from my car. Now not another customer or car in the parking lot. I have been a loyal ATT customer for 29+ years, from Metairie, LA, to Northern Virginia, to anchorage Alaska and now returned back to Metaiire. I have never in my entire life been treated so rudely! I was very upset prior to coming to this location because an authorized dealer/ store kiosk sold an upgrade for my phone but failed to realize that my plan would need changing and they bypassed the option for me to insure the new phone that was ordered. They also could not answer any of my questions regarding the terms and conditions. But this store in Elmwood helped restore service to my phone, yeah I didn't have service on the new phone. And explained that the previous plan no longer available but was able to get me the same at a cheaper price. Jaleel and Chris were very helpful and knowledgeable. They answered all of my questions and reset my voice-mail within a 30 minute visit. I would definitely recommend them. read more

AT&T needs to do some "secret shopper" at this store-if they really care about their customers. From being ignored when you walk in to being charged with things you didn't buy but showed up on your bill after just talking to one of their sales reps about it. You get the feeling that you are invading their space by requesting help, as they seem to hang out looking at their phones for the most part. And thinking back to a visit last summer, I stopped in there to see if they could help me change a couple of things about my plan, and I was told that I had to use the app on my phone to make any changes. She acted like she couldn't look at my bill with me so that I could make a decision about a better plan-it was like "figure it out for yourself". read more

Awful customer service. I placed an online order and went to the store to pick it up. The store wasn't busy and yet no one greeted me when I walked in. I went to the counter where it says "Online Order Pick Up" and no one made any attempt to assist me. Two couples and one individual came in after me and they were promptly assisted, with one salesperson coming from the back to assist them. So I'm only giving this two stars because I had a good interaction with the assistant manager with dreads, nice guy though I don't know that he actually works 1 on 1 with clients which is weird when everyone else is dealing with people and you have to wait but was very nice and professional. That being said there is an older guy and a woman who literally will sit there joking with each other and laughing but then as soon as they have to deal with a client just become sullen and nasty. Act like you asking a question is annoying or "you should already know that" type of thing. I had two interactions with the guy. The first was asking about a new phone and he did give me the info but did not let me know they were sold out so when I came back later that day and wasted another drive I still couldn't get it. The second was on a trade in and he made it clear to the Asst Manager that he didn't want to deal with it, and when I asked a simple question it was like pulling teeth. There is a lot of people out of work due to covid and these folks acting like "why are you here bothering me". I like atat but I will never use this store again. Like I noted at the top, assistant manager seems to be really nice but these two other folks that were there were nasty. The woman especially made us want to just leave and we did. She was so incredibly rude we decided to walk out for 30 minutes and came back and used Marcus who knows what he is talking about but is going so fast he ends up confusing you. Great salesman though and should consider selling cars instead of phones. Luckily, I'm done with atat for a while so no need to use this store again. read more

Customer service is friendly but internet service sucks I have a 1900 sq foot house and the WiFi signal and reception is poor. On top of that, they are DirecTv, which is not a good product and have the worst customer service of any service provider that I have ever dealt with and I am 58 years old. Oh how I hate this particular company! I have had At&t for almost 7 years and I deal with nothing but disappointment time and time again. First lets talk about this particular location. The employees may seem friendly at first but that is all a cover. They are very unhelpful with customer questions and seemed more focused on selling you crappy service,equipment, and upgrades you really do not need. When I ask a lot of questions about billing or service related issues they always give me the run around and say "we can't do this" or "we can't do that". Total lie, they just like to be standoffish. Instead they tell you to call some vague number where you get transferred around like a major league baseball player. At least the At&t location in UpTown New Orleans on Tchoupitoulas was friendlier. Now here is my view on the At&t corporation. This company like so many other contract telecommunications giants screw people over by making them sign a contract. Unlike T-moble or Sprint these guys are uber expensive. I pay almost $110 a month on my cell phone bill. They gave me some BS story that my unlimited internet wouldn't carry over if I got a new smartphone. It just seems that AT&T keeps trying to squeeze more money out of its existing customers. Despite their claim that they cover 97 percent of the United States that is total bull. There are quiet a few dead spots in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri and Kansas that they don't cover but Verizon and Sprint does. The worse thing that happened was when I moved here. I had my out of state number changed to a 504 number. When I did that they forgot to close out my old accounts. I was double charged for a month that I HAD ALREADY PAID!!!! I didn't find out about this charge until 4 years later when my sister in St. Louis,MO received a phone call from a collection agency saying that I owed money. I called the collection agency and they informed me that I had an outstanding bill with At&t for $80. I didn't even believe her so I called At&t myself to confirm. Sure enough they claimed that I owed them money even though I had kept up on my bill and never missed any payment for almost 7 years!!! When I tried to talk to the At&t customer rep she was argumentative and very belligerent. She kept trying to insist that this foul up was somehow my fault. After a while I got tired of it and hung up the phone on her. I ended up paying off the bill because I would spend more time and money trying to fight it than what it was worth. That and also the fact that the collection agency was a hell of a lot friendlier than this greedy corporation! One more thing is their u-verse stuff. The DSL internet is way too expensive Believe it or not Cox cable is actually $3 cheaper than At&t. Besides my ordeal with the collection agency At&t kept raising the rates on my internet and not even telling me! I guess it helps them out given the fact that there are only like 2 internet service providers here in New Orleans. We don't get Charter like those people that live on the North Shore(Yes I am very jealous of them btw). If you want to get a cell phone I would recommend going with Boost mobile because you only pay half the price for the same exact service you get with a contract cell phone company. If you want TV and high speed internet I recommend going with Cox Cable. Just DON'T sign up with At&t and get swindled out of money like I did by these scumbags. read more

I would really rather not give ANY stars, but I'm being generous. I had an issue with my Galaxy S3 and brought it in to this location, although it was purchased from another. After 3 associates had no clue as to how to correct my issue, it took Nicholas. A young, seemingly cocky male associate to correct it while commencing to assume I "jailbroke" my phone. I found this not only rude, but HIGHLY offensive. I will be sure to drive out of my way to avoid being treated so poorly. I also felt for his co-workers. Being spoken to the way he did was not only unprofessional, but also uncalled for. If you happen to need services from this location, STEER CLEAR OF NICHOLAS. I would give zero stars if possible. I called and talked to EJ and was told a price over the phone, and when I arrived at the store was told he made a mistake and is was $20 dollars more. I asked if he could talk to manager which was Tasha, and after a lengthy wait and loud conversation I was told "bad news" literally the next person ( Randy) manager in training walked up and said bad news as EJ walked to the stock room. No one would honor the price I was given over the phone even after mistake had been admitted to me. Poor customer service, poor training and also poor leadership. I waited 15 minutes to be told no, bad news. Might I add while Tasha store manager sat on a sofa with another customer chatting it up about there kids junior basketball team.
