This a great mobile service company however they must not treat their employees right. Or the workers just move on due to tough competition. Seems very high turnover every time I go there / for over 10 years now, the workers don't demonstrate to be knowledgeable in the use of software or service plans. The gentleman who served me was talkative- about his own personal life. Their system crashed and more customers started to walk in, the wait time turned to one hour what should have been 30 minutes. The selection was limited due iPhones being a hot item. Value seems to be comparable to other places. Which means customer service is a key issue here. With previous visits, the salespeople were not thorough. This gentleman , when I asked home questions about my accounts, he just agreed and repeated what I said ... Not helpful. read more

We've visited this location a few times in a span of over a decade from switching mobile carriers to upgrading our phones. Happy with top quality service and great deals every time. We had to upgrade after one of our phones would no longer charge with original Apple chargers. Battery performance was significantly impacted for both of our phones. We traded in our old phones for newer ones. Saved lots of money. Customer representative informed us that we are welcome to have breakfast or lunch while all of the existing data transferred onto our new phones. We ate an early lunch within walking distance, returned, tripled checked our phones to ensure everything is working properly before finally leaving. Worst experience in an AT&T shop, having an account for over 20 years. The agent working was alone, no other customers, and didn't even greet us when we entered. I inquired about upgrading my phone, and she seemed annoyed while looking up my information. Once open, she was adamant that I had to "pay off" my device, despite me showing her that the line had "next up" and was due for an upgrade. She (Laurie) told me that she couldn't help, and that I probably should just buy it online then. Note that she was also extremely rude to my wife - incredibly unprofessional. Their way of dealing with the pandemic is counter-productive. Their staff members don't seem to be confident enough to actually enforce the waiting list or the number of people in the store, which leads to customers being misled and lots of time being wasted. I signed into their online waiting list, was told that I was the first person in line (which was verified by the man working) and was asked to wait in the car until I received a text. I then watched two other people walk in and be helped without checking in. When I inquired, he said that he was sorry and that I could come in soon. Poor customer service. read more

We came here on a Wednesday around noon after I dropped my phone for the thousandth time, except this time my camera broke. Due to COVID, they have you check in via text. In which we were quickly brought in. Travis, help us decide what next steps to take, we decided on trading in for a new phone. He gave us suggestions on what accessories to get to avoid it happening again, even using his own phone as a demonstration. He set up the new phone and rang us up as quickly as new phone activation plans take (which is usually kind of long to begin with). He was helpful, patient, and knowledgeable throughout the whole process. We tried to use the coupon on Yelp, but he informed us that they would not be able to use it without a code or barcode, but let us know that there was a current promotion that was better anyway. Rude and not very helpful. I ordered a new phone In person but a month had passed and my phone has not come in. Tracking number that AT&T provided has not updated, called the store 2-3 times on separate occasions and the same lady answers with an attitude tells me it's not there. I even told her that my tracking has not updated but she just tells me to check back again another day. Finally, I called AT&T customer service and they told me my order got cancelled but does not know why. I called the store again to figure out what I should do next, the same lady answers and keeps telling me it's out of their control which is understandable but I just need to know what I should do next? Do I come in to store and re-order? Do I get a refund for the taxes I had already paid with the old order? But nothing she keeps giving me a rude attitude, basically no suggestions to fix the situation, no explanation, nothing. If she had made any kind of effort to check on my order when I had called the first time, we would of figured out there was something wrong with the current order and re-order, instead of me wasting my time. Been needing to upgrade a line, so I finally went into AT&T to get that upgrade. The Moanalua Shopping Center location is the nearest to my home, so I decided I'll come here. This is a smaller store compared to the others I've been too. Clean and quiet. Parking outside depends on the center. During lunch or dinner, expect to hunt down a stall. I was helped by Than, who was very knowledgeable about the products and services offered. As soon as he was available, being that there were others who were being helped. He made the upgrade process an efficient and easy transition. He reviewed my plan with me and suggested any upgrades and other promotional offers. Thank goodness for my Walmart discount because I actually have a pretty good deal as is. I chose to get the (RED) iPhone 7. It's brightly colored red and a white front finish. There were so many phones and colors to choose from. He turned it on and offered to set up the phone. He was even gonna help with transferring files/data through the cloud but I didn't need that extra service. I felt like this was a great experience. I usually like to go online to order my phones so I don't have to worry about anyone else suggesting things I don't need or because it takes too long at stores. I WISH I COULD GIVE THIS LOCATION NEGATIVE STARS!! My experiences with these "employees" in here have been nothing short of THE WORST! The laziest bunch I can dream up.. Last experience: Yesterday I went into this location to turn my old line back on. Last month, I switched from AT&T to Boost because my bills were so high and I wanted to try it out. (big mistake, don't do it). Anyway, when I left AT&T the phone rep said I had 50 some odd days to return to AT&T and just pick up my bill where I left off, as if I just turned the line off for awhile, if you will. GREAT! ...A month later, I go into the store, a man is waiting by the door, I forget his name, kinda tall, Latin accent. Anyway, I told him what I wanted to do, he pulled up my name, checked to make sure my # was still available, and was going to open a new line. I reiterated to him that it was an existing account! He called customer care. IDK who he talked to, and the conversation was not longer than 2 minutes, but they also, had never heard of this 50 day rule that I apparently made up. So instead of inquiring further with that person or asking to speak to someone else, he just hung up and said I would have to open a whole new account, run my credit, the whole nine. I call BULL CRAP! There were 5 other employees there at this time, and not once did he ask anyone else if they knew about this, so apparently he is the know all of AT&T. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Meanwhile, I just got off the phone with an AT&T rep and whaddaya know?! I have 59 days to pay my past due balance and restore my account. Which I will do at the Pearl city store where competency is a thing. But I WILL be making a trip back over to Valkenberg to educate these people on this 59 day rule and some basic customer service skills. My experience is similar every time I go here. I avoid it at all costs. I only went here yesterday because I was waiting for a ride. They are lazy and do not want to go outside that teeny box of customer service training they get, idk. Corporate will be getting a copy of this Yelp as well. My very 1st experience should have been my warning. They gave me a free tablet with my phone with a promo, and they gave me the worst tablet they had instead of offering me choices because they were rushing to close,,,IN AN HOUR! This is the closest AT&T store for me. I know it gets a bad rap, but is it cuz there is no parking, or possibly they come during the busy times, we may never know. Anyway, the past 2 times for me I have gotten Ken. He helped my husband get an upgrade and I got the gear2 watch for free. The computer system was acting funny that day so it took a little longerbut he kept verbally updating us on what was happening. Today, I wanted to pay on my phone and get a new case. Unfortunately the policy is pay it off or pay up to a new upgrade. I just went ahead and paid it off today with no hassle or issues. Then I picked a new phone case and paid using the 15% coupon for checking in via the yelp app. I have no problems coming back to this store, I just make sure to go at a good time. Bad service. Got my (insurance) phone on Tuesday. Up graded from a Galaxy S 3 to an S5. So excited until I tried to use the "call forward " feature. Tech said the HD enhancement features does not work in Hawaii & there's nothing they can do. I'm wondering if AT&T thinks we are living in grass huts? I work in a high security area where cell phones are banned. I need that call forwarding to keep in touch with my disabled family members. I've been here many times. Not only does this serve as an excellent location for people who reside in Salt Lake/Moanalua, their service is top notch. Most of the associates know what they're talking about - they don't back sass heir customers (which is something I experience elsewhere, because some think that we know everything about phones and we're asking just to irritate them). Maybe some might be a little indifferent to the situation, but 4 out of 5 times I've gone, they've really been on point with helping me. The actual company service, on the other hand (plans, rates, etc.)... Well, let's leave that up for a different review. Location: Situated within the Moanalua Shopping Center - not to be confused with the Salt Lake Shopping Center, because a lot of people get those two mixed up. I visited this location to activate my iPad and Apple watch and the retail agent I dealt with was super shady. First, he offered to switch me to a better plan with 30GB of hot spot data coverage, and then tried to activate my iPad knowing I would only get 1GB of data per month for an additional $10 per month. When I finally figured out what he was doing, I told him to deactivate my iPad. He proceeded to tell me he couldn't and even tried to upsell me for a $20 unlimited plan. He also tried to convince me to just try it out for a few months since I wouldn't be able to cancel the plan for three months anyway. Then after I complained he was ready to just send me on my way without even attempting to contact customer service to try to help me out and get the iPad account deactivatd. I had to actually tell him I wasn't leaving until he fixed the problem before he picked up the phone and called customer service. Long story short, I felt that the agent I dealt with was a used car salesman trying to scam me for every penny I had instead of looking out for my best interests. Other issues: - The agent had me sign a contract without providing the terms of what I was agreeing to. Unfortunately, I signed my name on the dotted line instead of demanding that he show me what I was agreeing to. A big mistake on my part, but SUPER shady for the agent to do this. I'm sure I wasn't the first customer he's done this to. - He failed to mention there was a $30 activation fee. I only found this out when my iPad account was finally canceled and he told me he would submit a request to have my activation fee waived. Again, SUPER shady. - He kept claiming he couldn't call customer service on his own and cancel my plan b/c that would be "fraud." He repeated this excuse several times. While it may be true he couldn't change my plan without me there, I think he was just using this excuse to try and wipe his hands of the problem. Plus, there was nothing stopping him from calling customer service while I was still in the store, which is what I demanded that he do. -He tried to charge me for $15 per month insurance coverage without asking me if I even wanted it. - He kept trying to push me to get a new iPhone even though I told him I wasn't interested in getting one. - When I got angry at him, he was somewhat condescending and didn't defuse the situation. Eventually, he admitted that he should have handled it differently. All in all, I had a bad enough experience at this store to make me consider closing my account with AT&T and signing up with a different service provider. The agent did apologize, so that was at least somewhat reassuring. Regardless, I truly think he tried to take advantage of me by not being forthright on all of the charges and trying to nickle and dime me on a bunch of service charges I didn't need or want. The worst part though was that when I told him I didn't want my iPad activated, he wasn't willing to do whatever was necessary to make things right and was just going to wipe his hands clean of the situation and send me on my way. I don't advise going to this location for all of the reasons mentioned above. If you do go here, just be aware that the agents may try to tack on additional services/charges onto your plan, so be very careful and ask lots of questions. Tell him you read my review and that he is your go to kinda guy. He helped me transition from tmobile and the entire process was very pleasant. He took the time to help other people while I gathered information from my previous account with tmobile. At one point he helped two other guests while the other girl he was with wasn't around. She probably was on break or went home cause we didn't see her other than the first 20 min of us being in store. The employees at this location are unfamiliar with AT&T policies and procedures. They refused to give my senior citizen, widowed mom the 15% military discount because they aren't allowed to scan her military ID (which is true) and wanted a copy of my deceased father's DD-214 (which is not required per AT&T). I had to call AT&T customer service who gave me the following information: "Article number 149099 is AT&T's policy which allows qualified active duty military, reserves, national guard, veterans, and spouses of active duty and deceased service personnel to receive 15% off the monthly service charge on qualified plans." For spouses of deceased personnel, the only requirement is showing military identification and AT&T procedures state the manager is to scan their badge to override the requirement to scan proof of eligibility. "If the employees at this location refuse to input the discount code into the system because they tell you they need a copy of the DD-214, call 866-482-4608." You'd think this specific location (next to the NEX) would focus on being intimately familiar with procedures to provide TOP, QUALITY service to their military patrons. Disappointingly, this is not the case. What a shame. read more

Well finally he finished talking about his tattoos to the customer he ask me if he can help me. I approached him an ask him for my discount as a veteran an I show him my military ID Card. He said that he could not help me cause I needed a Pay Voucher an a DD214. at that time I left the store disgusted for their service an complete IGNORANCE!!!! Don't buy att phone from Costco. They say if you buy you can cancel within 30 days and you get all your money back. Well we bought two iPhone X from Costco and returned the phones in less than one week. Costco said to ignore the att bill of 153.00. We called att and they said nope we still have to pay the bill. We told them Costco said we should have a zero balance on our next bill. Well the next bill was 153.00 again. Iesha from att said we have to pay the bill. Her supervisor would not come to the phone to talk about the bill. Beware. There is no free 30 days with att and Costco. Also they tell you they cannot hear you. They hang up on you and they won't cancel your bill even though you cancel in 30 days. read more

I went into the Moanalua AT&T yesterday because my IPhone5 was not responding to the network. Even though I left there with my phone still not responding, I personally felt that the team did everything they could possibly do to help me out. Patricia who was helping me restart, reload, reboot, and then finally call the technical support stayed on the phone with me for about an hour. The phone just wouldnt connect. Patricia and I were transferred from a few departments and through out the whole time she continued to apologize. Patricia not only had to stay on hold with me, but she helpfully tried to defuse an irate customer that was giving her co-worker a hard time. In the mean time the store quickly filled up with customers, and after realizing nothing could be done at the time, I told her that Id come back the next day. Was there 2 years ago and was great. This time went in to upgrade my phone and buy my wife a phone. The salesman told us the only phone available was a Motorola at $60 dollars, we only wanted a phone for the time we were in Hawaii. He brought us a phone in a box that looked crushed and used. We bought this phone and when we visited another site found out that AT&T no longer sold or serviced this phone. While in the store we told the sales person we wanted to be able to make international calls. He told us he would put this on both phones. The first time we tried to call we were told we had no time on either phone. The sales staff were laughing at 2 Australians who came in and had there phones set up and when they left their phones didn't work either.
