Renewed my Verizon contract with Wireless Mike's South 21st st. store on 1/15/11....my battery…read morewould not hold a charge even the first day more than 24 hours and hardly use the phone.....by 1/31/11 the phone would not hold a charge more than 4 hours so I took it back and they said they would order a battery and call me when it came in...I wanted to get a new phone but it was 2 days past the 14 day return policy....called 2/4/11 still no battery and no phone call no apology....they won't exchange phones...called Verizon 611 direct and had phone battery replaced in less than 24 hrs Fed X overnight.......this is 2/9/11 and Wireless Mike's still hasn't called about the battery replacement....didn't bother to tell them I took care of it myself without their help.

I renewed my contract and purchased a Droid phone through them. We were ordering the phone on one…read moreline and moving it to another. Something I've done countless times going through Verizon directly. They said it would be no problem. It was a problem. After I had already signed all the papers they told me the phones couldn't be switched for 24 hours and I would have to come back to the store to do it (I live 30 miles away). The phone they gave me had obviously already been opened and after charging the phone all night, the battery died after about 15 minutes of use. I called them and they told me to bring it back and they would give me a new battery. I insisted on a new phone since the one I had was clearly used prior to my receiving it. To their credit the did agree to give me a new phone, but when I got there they were out of that particular phone and I was told I'd have to come back another day--for a fourth time to pick up my phone. To "apologize" for my inconvenience they offered me a multimedia charger which they said they would have for me when I came back to pick up my phone. Of course, when I came back to get the phone they didn't have the charger, but said it would be in the next week. When I returned again, they told me they weren't giving it to me for free, but at a 50% discount. What a huge waste of time! I'll never do business with them again. It is much easier to just renew directly through Verizon. The service is far better.

I set my moms house up with her own cabletec exterior box to shield her splitter from interference…read moreand the elements. I installed a splitter I researched and bought from Menard's along with my own f connectors. The first cable installer that responded was polite and tried his best to fix the problem with the MoCA. He called for help. Brandon another installer got here and tried to talk over me as if I wasn't well educated. He called in to have a software build on one of the boxes and to link it to my moms account. He "had" to get a new box from his truck because they mailed one with the wrong serial number. The first installer said he had tried to trouble shoot and removed it from the account. Brandon told the first installer he would be charged for the box if it wasn't returned. I informed the first installer of his legal rights. The FCC has a valuable tool to report corruption with the cable companies. It only takes 5 minutes to boss up and report them. Here's a link - https://consumercomplaints.fcc.gov/hc/en-us I installed a modem and router for my mom that she owns. The cable companies don't like that. The have some ridiculous MoCA software protocol that only works with their modems. I ended up running some CAT5 cables from the router to the bedroom TVs. Luckily my mom has a drop down ceiling in her basement so it was a breeze to do. I live in Champaign and Xfinity has way better hardware and company structure. I feel bad for the residents of Charleston having to deal with Mediacom. Before they left I asked for my F connectors back. They were insistent on installing only their products. Probably because they have to have certain length install times to appease customers and build satisfaction. Brandon informed me that I installed a RadioShack piece of junk splitter. I was so offended. I asked him "What? Are you incompetent? This splitter is just fine." Before he left I snapped this picture because it felt as if he was trying to take advantage of the ignorance of the residents of Charleston. I love my mom too much to let her be take advantage of by deceptive installers like Brandon.
