I went in and wanted to get help with my service no it wasn't for mobile. It was for internet. Yes I know they don't do that "now". But you never know unless you ask, right? Well I decided to get help form these guys who first told me that my 50mbps wasn't enough to sustain the many gamers I had in my home. Then went on to try and bring the other gentleman in on it with him. To his surprise the guy didn't agree. Then the guy said to me, I am going to let you know just me being human, here in Indiana At&t service sucks. If I were you I would go to another company like xfinity that has better internet. Seeing that I have been with At&t for 20 years, that was kind of a hard pill to swallow. But you know what... maybe he is right. Maybe I should. They don't seem to care whether you have been with them for decades or days. You can sign up with them and get better deals than the people like me who hate to jump around and get screwed in the process. Or actually work for them and have no option. Either way. We have emailed and left text messages on Friday, July 25, 2025 that read "read" and have not heard back on new customer plans and options we had questions on. Misael was initially helpful but when we had a lot of questions he said he had to go and if we had questions to email or text him to which we did and have not heard back. Not very comforting customer service. And the sheet for our neighborhood that just had fiber installed indicates to contact Anais. We were not home to meet with any of the sales folks in person when they went around getting people to sign up. I would have hoped we would have had the same courtesy but did not experience that at all. Being ignored is terrible, even the store manager is not helpful. Terrible customer service. 45 minutes of my life wasted. The workers are unprofessional. Try to be funny. Told me he can't have too big of a phone because he only uses one hand to text because he uses the other one to drive. Said this in front of my 18-year-old son whom I am trying to teach NOT to text and drive. Went in the back to get my new phone, was gone for 15 minutes, came out, and said they don't have any. Did you seriously not know you were out of iPhone 14s before I came in?? Like, completely out???? Then he had the nerve to tell me NOT to go to another local ATT store because they have bad service. We went into this store on the Sunday after thanksgiving with the intent to purchase two iPhone 11's and transfer service from my iPhone 7s. The salesperson was nice enough and happy to help. However, she never asked us the size of the phone we wanted and frankly I assumed we would get the same size we had previously, 128gb. The store did not have any 11's in stock and told us they could ship or we'd need to drive to another location. We needed the phones that day so we opted to drive 50 miles to another location. When we go to the store, we had a difficult time to get one of the phones active due to the salesperson in Merrillville removing all the data from the old phone. The Laporte, IN had to use another chip to get it started. I was not happy about the size of the phone I received and called the store in Merrillville to ask if I could get a larger phone; the gal was rude and told me no. I asked to speak to the manager, Greg. He was pleasant but told me I'd have to pay a $55 restocking fee. I was quite irritated. I was planning to go into the store and do that but have since changed my mind. I did report my issues to AT&T. I doubt I'll shop the Merrillville store in the future. read more

I was made to wait excessively long when trying to make a return. AT&T told me over the phone I would have no fees since it was within two weeks and I had my receipt. The receipt says $45 restock fee. I was charged $55 despite what customer service said, and despite what the receipt says. The worst customer service ever! I started new AT&T cell phone service at this Merrillville, IN location over a year again and I'm still waiting on them to honor a promotion that was advertised when I bought the phone. I've been back and forwarded to this location numerous times and have yet to receive a solution, only excuses on why it hasn't been applied to my account. Speaking to the management there was a huge waste of time. They offer promotions to get you in, only to tell you that it takes up to four months for it to be applied. The real scam is that by then they hope that you've forgotten about it and they are able to charge you full price opposed to honoring the promotional discount. This experience has made me regret switching to AT&T. read more

I have always had problems with my att phone service. No service in the middle of a heavy populated are. The answer I get from att regarding this problem is that the closest tower is 8 miles away. They have no plans for fixing this problem. And now they merged with direct tv. When you call DIRECTV AT&T answers. Then they direct you to DIRECTV. Most times it is very difficult to understand the person on the other end. And in the occasion that you do understand what the person is saying they usually ask you for your phone number at least four times. You put your number in before to pull up your account and then you have to repeat your phone number multiple times to the person that's helping you and then they switch you over to a different person and you have to do it again. I have seriously spent a minimum of 20 hours on either hold or switching from person to person in order to get my DIRECTV repaired. Then I was sent to the AT&T store for help. Att staff says we can't help you after trying to help and then calls direct tv from the land line phone in the office. And then you wait sometimes for over an hour only to hear that they will have to call you back. And the chance of that happening are almost none. I can't for the life of me figure out how 2 different companies can merge and seriously double their inefficiency. I've had direct tv for 6 years now. Most of the time it works but when it stops working because of a glitch in the system that is being worked on by the direct tv technicians it continuously continues to go out. Honestly, this is the worst companies I have ever dealt with in 60 years!!! GOOD LUCK TO ANYONE HAVING TO DEAL WITH THEM read more

I'm pissed!!!! To start from the beginning I switched from Sprint with 3 lines at $280 to 2 lines with AT&T and was told my bill will drop to $220.I get the first bill @$241 I said ok that's close I get the second at $360 WTF I understand the activation fee and all but DAMN!!! SO I call ATT talk to the rep and was told my bill would remain the same for a few months then I would be reimbursed. Why I wasn't told anything but the $220 at the signing I don't know but to hit a person $360 SHIT! I already knew going in that ATT was higher than anybody out there I still switched because of the coverage but damn ATT that's high as hell. Who in the hell wants to pay a F'ing car note for a damn cell phone it makes a person want to switch to Cricket and a flip phone. Now I'm stuck until this shit change until what I'm told March. If my bill change in March possibly I will update my review but until then ATT is a trap so buyer beware. They swear they tell you everything up front but I'm almost to the point I wish I stayed with Sprint. I really do wish my bill drop in a few months or we're gonna have an issue here. I thought I did my due diligence before agreeing to this contract so I am to take for part of the blame but yelp affords us by giving the consumer the platform and opportunity to warn the public. read more

I spent 1 hour waiting in the store for nothing. I had an issue with my phone charging. I waited 1 hour for someone to plug my phone in and say we do not have tech support, would you like to upgrade. NO I would not like to upgrade I would like a replacement, because I HAVE insurance. The manager could have checked this after he checked me in and saved me an hour of my time. The process for customer service is not working. There were four associates helping customers while the manager was in the back. Customers were consistently coming in and one of the associates had to go get the manager from the back to help. While the manager was very nice, in my opinion he could have done more to control the flow of the service. To wait 1 hour without an immediate resolution for my problem was unacceptable. Please reevaluate your customer service workflow. I will not return to this store. My time is valuable. read more

If I could give 0 Stars I would. After 12 visits to this location I finally had to cancel all services and go with Verizon. I had no service in my home and U-Verse was scheduled to be installed on 4 different ocasions. Every time they cancelled finally the last time they noted that i refused them on my property and threatened with the police...LIES! Cary the General Manager of the Merrillville Location stated he would waive my cancellation fee due to the fact I had no service in my home for over a month. They only way to rectify was with a microcell which suprise needs internet, which suprise again At&t couldnt install. Stay far away. They are scam artists. read more

BEWARE---HORRIBLE...the representative are COMMISSION based so they will not disclose hidden fees the RESTOCKING FEES until after the item has been rung up. If the customer changes their mind on the item, the store AUTO charge the RESTOCKING FEES of $45 because they rung up the item. This is a SCAM by the store and staff. Recently went to this AT&T location to have my phone looked at and noticed how long the line was. Didn't even get a hello when I walked and noticed like 4 reps talking in the back by the TV'S while a million customers were waiting to be helped. One bench, by the way, does not cut it. I only come to this store because of one particular rep that I am very fond of. Tony, who is an employee there, is one of the most intelligent employees I have ever met. He is respectful, honest, and boy did he have patience. Always smiles and always in a good mood. By the way, people are always waiting for him, and its not because he's a good salesman, its because he is an honest one. I have referred all my co workers and family to see him because of how well he takes care of his clientele. When it was my turn, I politely asked the person who called my name if I could be help by Tony. The guy told me that Tony didn't work here anymore. I asked if the person if he didn't work for AT&T or he didn't work that this store. The guy told me that he didn't work for at&t and began to show signs of being annoyed by my questions. I proceeded to the counter so that the guy could help. I had a question about my phone and asked if he could show me how to do a couple of things. He barely showed me anything!!! He just flew by the menu without waiting for me to see what he did exactly. I think he just wanted to get rid of my because all i was buying was a car charger for my blackberry. In a nutshell, I wont be returning to this store anytime soon. As far as I'm concerned, at&t is worthless with out Tony at the place. Would not recommend going here on Friday or Saturday. read more
