Online ordering is KING these days seriously it really is! It seems that mobile stores, doesn't matter which brand (i.e. Verizon, Mobile), they seem to all suck at customer service because I've been inside my share of mobile stores and most times it's not a good experience. This ATT store was no different. The inherent problem with all these types of stores is that your milage will vary greatly based on what knucklehead or sweet heart you end up getting to help you out. It's almost like the bad luck of the draw when you enter these stores. Will you get someone who loves their job or hates it? In my case I got someone who clearly hated their job so during my transaction the look on my face was one of serious confusion wondering why this guy was even working here. The attitude he had was as if I was bothering him by entering the store expecting to be assisted. Shoot if they had self serve kiosks like McDonalds has then I would have used a kiosk and this fool could have simply brought out my order when I was done placing my order. Needless to say I came in for a device, left with said device and in the end the guy was somewhat helpful in saving me money but damn I'd swear he had an illness that would strike him dead instantly if he dared smile at least once. Zero joy in the representative. I'm not even going to name names and I'm not even going to place a complaint because in the end I got what I went in to get. I really wish all mobile stores either gave better training or did a better job hiring people that actually love the business. ATT & Verizon sells themselves because they are both on top of the mobile service food chain but order online and skip the store front. read more

Towards the end of December 2023 we went into the Middletown ny store to upgrade my son's iPhone. During that process the sales rep started making changes to our plan which were going to save us money on our monthly. We come to find out later she had our bill doubled, lied about additional services and discounts we would now be getting and lied to us about everything she was doing to the bill to make it cheaper. Me and my wife entrusted her but we were literally defrauded. Stay away from this store and check your bill when your after any visit to this store. Very disappointed with ATT for letting this behavior happen in a corporate store. I can't possibly go back there because if I can't trust who I'm Speaking with and have to bring my lawyer with me to explaine it all to me, it's just not worth it I am going to relentlessly pursue avenues to bring this to the public's attention and for ATT to acknowledge there denial of the fraud. Someone from corporate did end up helping us and she was great but all of my calls to the store and ATT WERE HANDLED VERY POORLY read more

The AT&T store alone could use some improvement,.. the wait time was very long and when I walked in there was no one to greet me. I had to take the initiative to be asked to placed on the waiting list. Once my name was called after 30 minutes, Steve, one of the employees was automatically able to assist me. He did an awesome job. He knew his facts, processed my transaction quickly & had great customer service. Without Steve I think I might've rated AT&T as a whole lower, but one employee helped make a difference. read more

We went to att to switch carriers. Chris helped us. First he tried to set up The account for my husband. Screwed it up and had to be redone. Then said oh you get a free watch and a SIM card for future use in an iPad. Great. I put the SIM card in my wallet as I could tide it. Took two days to get the phone set up. Went back and joe had to give my husband a new SIM card in his phone. But meanwhile we were getting emails and texts about the first account that never went through. So we go back to try to fix it and surprise, the watch has a monthly fee and so did the SIM card. Never told us. Said our bill would be X amount. Turns out it was going to be almost triple or more. Darianna got it figured out. We returned the watch and the SIM card. She was great. Went over each items and out bill is back to a normal level. We were ready to hand it all back but she was great. Hopefully things will be smooth now. read more

I don't get up to Middletown nearly as often as I used to, but when I was in the area and I wanted to surprise my wife with a new phone to replace the one she had and no long liked, I decided to head into town to see what my options were for her. So I came into Middletown, found my way to the local AT&T store where, on what would be a busy Saturday at wireless stores on Long Island (where I live), and of course in Manhattan as well (where I work), it was nice to come in here and not be shoulder-to-shoulder with the other clients waiting their turn. Initially, although the store was fairly empty, the staff there didn't realize I was waiting patiently to be waited on, but it's nice they weren't all in my face either as soon as I walked in. When they finally got to me, as with most chains of any product, they were competent and accommodating (I needed to leave the store with the phone un-activated). Since they didn't activate the phone on my request, they did take the step to open the device (keeping the "fresh from the factory" look), inserted the battery and ensured the device powered on successfully, and repackaged it just as it was when he opened the box. read more

Can you give less than one star? I can't say enough about how horrible my experience was in this store! They need to loose their affiliation with AT&T! The manager was rude and treated his employees like garbage! I was in the store for 6 HOURS and at they end of this time, once my numbers were ported over and once the store was already closed for an hour, they told me that I owed $400 dollars more than originally quoted because they failed to look carefully at the merchandise I was trading in; merchandise they had in their hands. The store manager was completely unapologetic and told me that there was no other option at that point. NOW 2 months later, they added another $400 charge to my bill for no reason! RUN! Do not give them one ounce of your money! read more

I went to upgrade my phone and as soon as I walked in, I was greeted and helped right away. I think the sales rep's name was Steven; with the chinky eyes.. Looks like he's mixed. He was amazing and extremely helpful. He gave me his down to earth opinion which allowed me to make the best decisions for myself. Under staffed and manager could learn a bit about customer service. I arrived and my name added to the board at #3. Only 2 staff members already working with customers. While we had been waiting for our turn, this lady came in and Manager John spent 30 minutes speaking to this lady who should've been customer #5 at this point. Since I was on my lunch hour, after 50 minutes of wait, had to leave without accomplishing anything. At this point I was still #3 and there were now 7 names on the board. I approached the manager and expressed my frustration and rudeness for taking someone out of turn. His excuse is that she was asking questions. Those of us waiting also had concerns or issues that needed to be addressed as well! Not sure what the role of an AT&T local store manager is but as a customer, when you have only 2 employees working and you have 7 people waiting for almost an hour, really, roll up the sleeves and hit the floor unless you think that helping those you manage is beneath you. Believe me, it would be much appreciated by the customer and you get more from your employees when you are a team player. read more
