He told me whatever I wanted to hear to get my money, then I was screwed. First, he lied to me about getting a free phone when I subscribed, then he lied to me about getting a senior discount, and then the biggest lie of all was that we would pay $146.03 a month for the two phones we got there. A month later, I got a bill for $355! I also noticed that I was getting charged for what was supposed to be a free phone, and I was getting charged for my trade-in that was supposed to be an even match. They also said they were going to pay off my old phone. I haven't seen that money yet, but based on the dishonesty I experienced so far, I won't hold my breath! When I went back to the store to confront them about the lies I was told about the free phone and other benefits. The manager told me that the particular phone I got wasn't free, and Chris was a new employee and didn't know any better. In fact, that was the excuse for every lie I confronted him with. When I asked where the senior discount was on my bill, the manager said I seldom see anyone get a senior discount, and Chris was a new employee and didn't know any better, so I got screwed there also! I tried calling Verizon corporate, but I was transferred to the Philippines, and they were almost useless! I did find out that this store was not owned by Verizon, but they are authorized to sell their phones and screw any Pahrump citizen who walks through the door as badly as they want to, and Verizon won't do anything about it! Also, the cell signal sucks; I never get more than 3 bars at most, and mostly get one and have to use my WIFI for it to function correctly! They tell you you have 30 days to return your phone, but it takes longer than that to figure out how badly you got ripped off!

The technician explained that the phone needed water damage treatment and that the screen needed to be replaced. He gave me two screen options: a regular screen for $150 or a premium screen for $200, plus $35 labor. I chose the $150 option. I left the phone on Saturday and picked it up on Sunday. The phone was working, and I paid the agreed amount of $185 plus tax. The next day, my daughter removed the screen protector because the fingerprint sensor was not working properly. We noticed that the screen had the same scratches as before, which showed that the screen had not been replaced. When we returned to the shop to ask about it, we were told for the first time that the original screen had been repaired instead and that it was better to keep the original screen. My concern is not that the original screen was repaired -- that may have been a good option. My concern is that this third option was never explained to me before the repair was completed or before I paid. I should have been given the choice: replace the screen as originally discussed, or repair the existing screen at the same price. Instead, the decision was made without my knowledge, and I only found out after noticing the same damage on the screen. The phone is working, and I appreciate that, but trust and communication are very important when leaving an expensive device with a repair shop. I hope this business improves transparency with customers, so they don't feel taken advantage of and overcharged for repairs.
