No bs, legit computer service in Pahrump. My external drive failed and I took it to them for assessment, and a fix (if any). I gave them instructions stating that if the drive is bad to not extract the data as I have a backup. They did exactly as they said they would, kept me in the loop, and because they were unable to fix it its a no-fix-no-charge deal. I am floored at the service they provided me, and their honesty. Do NOT take your computer here... I took mine in for a simple "email retrieval"; I even paid extra for a four hour turnaround, as I was leaving town in a few days. When I dropped it off I asked if they could also fix the "ribbon cable" so that I could move the screen on my laptop... without hestiation they responded that they could. Later in the day (remember that I was supposed to get my computer back in 4 hours) I got a call - the tech said "when I buttoned you screen back up and turned the computer on there was a puff of smoke"... he FRIED MY SCREEN... making my computer unusable... and they were unable to retrieve my email files. He assured me that they likely had a replacement screen in the shop, but that they would have to order the ribbon cable... four days to get it (computer is unuseable in the meantime) - I repeated that I was flying out of town for a court case... I needed my computer and my data. I guided them through the process to expedite the cable, paying extra for the quicker shipping. Cable arrived in two days (at my expense)... but they HAD NO SCREEN - they would have to order it.... 5 days to get that. The screen finally arrived but IT WAS THE WRONG SIZE.... at that point I picked up the pieces to my computer...while I was waiting in the ship for the tech to put the fried screen back on, another woman came to pick up her desktop....they told her that her hard drive was shot and that her data was unretrievable.... I advised her to "seek a second opinion" and related what my experience had been with these folks. Luckily she took my advice and had the COMPETENT fellows at Great Computer Deals and they quickly completed the tasks that she had requested... they were able to retrieve her data for her... They were also able to retrieve MY emails (something Mastertech was unable to do) and advised me on how to access the hard drive from my fried laptop - using it like a regular external hard drive so that I didn't lose all of the important data. Mastertech cost me a ton of money and created a lot of stress - I will NEVER go there again (I'm better off fixing it myself) and advise others not to either. Took my Win10 PC there when it stopped loading updates and told them I had removed all programs and files and they could reinstall Windows or do what was needed. All they did, for $80, was to stop Windows Update from automatically loading which did not fix the problem. I bought a new copy of Windows 10 and installed myself and now my computer works. read more

MASTERTECH COMPUTERS: It's been a month since I brought my laptop to the shop for repair, and all is great. I dont like to review services until I'm sure they took. Well, this one did. I thought the charging port on back of my Acer was shot. Mastertech thought it was just a plug but took the time to take it apart to ensure their diagnosis. They were right it was just the plug. So a repair that would have cost approximately a hundred dollars (the $85 service charge and $10 for the part) wound up costing me only $21. Even though the techs took the time to take the laptop apart to ensure they made the right repair, they did not charge me for that. But for the $85 they would have cleaned up the laptop for viruses and unnecessary software and files, etc anyway. I was so pleased with their honesty and service that I asked them to perform that task for me and gladly paid the additional $85. It's been a month since I walked in the door of MASTERTECH COMPUTERS and all is working fabulously. I feel I can refer the Pahrump community to this fine establishment with confidence. Master Tech Computers,next to China Wok, did a super job of cleaning my computer, which was infected with virus-tracking-cookies, from this company called, Elite IT Home Computer service, which is nothing but a scam, and when I have Windows Virus Service, as well as Anti-Malware Virus protection, Elite IT Home Computer service, out of Orem, UT. I was told I had 1077 virus tracking cookies from this company, on 1/18/2017, with there own virus cookie scan, and as the next 5-6 days went by, I was told for $149.99 my computer would be cleaned, and my problems would be over, and it just got worse day by day, just from checking my email, and my bank web page. Master Tech in Pahrump, told me, for a $85.00 charge on 1/23/2017, Elite IT Home Computer service was sending virus tracking cookies to my computer, they were sending out Malicious virus cookies to me, once they had remote control of my computer, and from 1/18/2017 to 1/23/2017 I had over 4000 virus tracking cookies. Once there software, and remote control from Elite IT Home computer service was cleaned off of my computer, my computer is running fine, and virus clean. be ware of this Computer Company, I did file a complaint with the BBB against this company, and Master Tech wrote a letter of this company Elite IT Home, in Orem, UT., of it being a scam. So you have been told what happened to me, stay with a local computer service, and sad to say, you cannot trust any of these web computer service company's, to me, Master Tech is a 5-star company, and tells the computer owner the truth, and even wrote a letter to my credit card company, of this scam going on. All it does it waste your time, on the phone, and I did file a review with the BBB out of Utah over this company. Any questions please let me know.
