When I went back he said "you ready to pay your bill now - very loudly. I looked at him confused. I walked closer and he said "you're not going to scrunch your face up like that at me. You can wait for someone else. I'm not dealing with you. You go wait over there". I said "excuse me" and he went on to tell me my face was rude and he didn't have to deal with me. I went to another part of the store to call customer care immediately. He followed me around and continued to harass me telling me I was "in his way and I should go sit down in the waiting chairs". Once I got Verizon on the line, I was so upset, I started to cry and he proceeded to make crying sounds mocking me while I was on the phone. Aggressive, harassing & plain rude. Never will use Verizon again. Changing carriers today. I was literally harassed.

I called and the woman who answered (second ring, by the way, no long drawn-out introduction message) listened patiently and empathetically as I went on, and on, and on, about how embarrassed I was and I knew better, etc. She assured me Epoch would be happy to make it all better. No pressure or hype, just bring the laptop in and Epoch will take care of getting rid of any malicious software that the hackers loaded onto my hard drive. I did that and in less than 24 hours (yes, a little $$$ extra for expedited service) my laptop was clean as a whistle. Matt and Doo Yen were wonderful. So pleasant and patient which is exactly what I needed. This hacking event spurred me on to get a new desktop and Matt came and picked up both the old and the new desktop and brought it back the next day with all of my files loaded onto my new machine. Matt made it easy for me to access all of my files which is amazing if you've ever had to bring all of your files over from an old computer to a new one. I am up and running again (I work part time for a lawyer) and I feel assured my machines are clean and running at peak speed and Epoch turned a very stressful situation into a happy ending. First I went to UBreakifix because they came recommended and had good reviews (more on google than Yelp), but they would need to order the glass, 3-5 days and needed four hours for the repair. Not to mention that as I was taking back my son's iPad, their employee broke it into many pieces, whereas it had only been a single crack before. Next we tried here. They had the glass in stock. They were $40 less than the other place and they had it fixed in a little over an hour. Crisis averted! Son is happy again! The work is guaranteed for 90 days, in case anything isn't as it should be. I'm hopeful that things are all good.

Let me give you an idea: I was in the store a total of 3 minutes and walked out with complete resolution of my reason for coming in. Now. Let's move on. These guys are awful. Just awful. The thing I recall more clearly is going in a year ago and (part of this is my fault for not maybe being a little more insistent and skeptical) having the guy sell me a screen protector that didn't quite fit and a phone with no warranty [and I later realized] absolutely no storage capacity because it was loaded down with 4 gigs of unalterable "miscellaneous." Of course, the phone broke within a year and as I mentioned above had no insurance or warranty. A note about the store itself. We went in and it looked pretty bare-bones, rather empty of product and with no music playing. The guy I mentioned above was kind of sitting crooked on a chair behind the desk. For my own entertainment I kind of imagined an insane scenario where this was just some random guy who wandered into the store and was playing make pretend. Obviously I don't think that is at-all the case but the store had that appearance. I'll end with one quick note because I didn't remember clearly the nature of what problem I was trying to fix. I do, however, remember that the girl at the store told me that it would have to be resolved by a higher station than hers. She proceeds to call the basic, 1800 style number and hand the store's phone to me. I remember actually being quite tickled by this because spontaneous absurdity is always a welcome source of humor. But yeah, I certainly thought "what am I doing right now? I can call 1800 help me or whatever from home. How is this helping me?" There are many, many, many better options than this store. Stay away. EDIT* As I went to recall my Yelp account reviews (haven't used my Yelp account in a long time) I saw I had an unfinished review. I don't know where I was going with this but it made me laugh because I can see this must have been immediately after the original incident and the review's first sentence seems written with a more fresh-off-the-presses temper. They took off the screen and cleaned the camera lens from the inside along with the tiny lens that does face recognition. Who would have guessed that was the answer? Not only did my camera work great afterwards but my face recognition, which had also been acting weird, was back. No lens cover replacement needed! The Iphone X lives on!
