Andreas at the office on Hawthorne Ave in Salem was the best, most helpful, informative and patient ATT rep that we have ever dealt with. We were able to get appropriate equipment to set up WiFi at our home which is something we have spent years of shopping around without success because of our home location. He brought success and we are the happiest we am be. Give Andreas a raise or award. If I could give 10 stars for the representative's assistance, he'd have them! read more

This phone company had my phone for somebody else's service. Attached to my cell phone name? I have been getting two charges on my phone with automatic withdrawal. I went to get it fixed. It took them over four hours. I paid off my phones and my watches. I am now in the process of getting my phones unlocked so I can go to a different server so I will never use them again. They were rude slow and never reimbursed me. read more

If I could give this place a 0 I would, everybody that works here is unhelpful and they act so annoyed when you ask for any help or any question. I can't believe the service they gave me and my family by just trying to upgrade. I have been a paying customer for over 20 YEARS!!! We Came in to upgrade on Saturday and they told us that we would be able to pick them up On Thursday. we came in and they have the phones(yay!) the girl we're working with goes to lunch, so we get a new guy and he tells us they can't sell them to us. Why? We just went through this whole process. Why now can you not sell them??? Manager, Communicate with your team and tell them to do their job by helping the customers. Never have had this problem any other store. Why here? Nobody here is helpful and they're all complete a**holes. I Will never comeback to this location. And I suggest you don't either. I know people usually review places like this to complain, so I wanted to say that I've had really positive experiences here. There was maybe a moment when I didn't get checked in right away, but then the manager that helped me suggested setting up an appointment for next time, which I've now done twice since then and helps get me on my way quicker than not. Staff have been consistently helpful and patient with my questions. They helped me set up a non-standard phone and helped me figure out my voicemail (lol because I had the wrong voicemail phone number in there, whoops). It does tend to get cold in there though, and you could be waiting around if you try to drop in. But! They try to get people checked in as they walk in, and get through the list as they're able. read more

I was looking for a new phone and decided to go to this store And it was open until 7:00pm on sunday. As soon as we walked into the store a Gentleman by the name of Tony greeted us . I will be honest he was AMAZING! My daughters and I have never been treating so good. Tony and another guy Jose got me the phone I wanted . This establishment with these 2 gentlemen was so excellent words can't describe how awesome you guys were to us. The best customer service I've ever experienced. Thank you both! Don't ask them any questions about software that's in stalled on there phones. No clue on how to fix a problem. Wait time can be very long, 10-15 minutes. Buy there prepaid phone for 60-80 dollars and $55.75 a month plan. Other wise you are just throwing your money away. read more

I wish I could give no stars. I have been an AT&T customer for YEARS. I made an appointment and I was appalled at the absolute lack of customer service. It has been a few years since I needed to come in and discuss upgrades in our phones and phone plans. This was a sleazy car salesman type feel this time. The guys in the office were all busy watching the football game and NO information to give. They hand wrote money quotes after leaving us for over 15 minutes at a time "to see what they could do" for plans and upgrades rather then showing us what was available. We never got to see any phones or options in a typed or contract format. I would love to speak with a manager and give feedback , obviously there as no one onsite tonight. read more

When you have cell phone issues going in the store sucks! They can't help, I mean they can, but it'll cost you! I've been a customer since the 90's with AT&T. The deal that was offered at the store was completely unacceptable. Best thing this little girl could do was direct me to customer loyalty dept. and let me use their phone because mine ceased to make and receive phone calls. I'm thankful for that. My hope is that this review inspires a learning moment for this AT & T location and corporate AT & T as well. I was a customer of AT & T for over a decade. My goal was to establish a new cellular business account and move over three lines of my employees from a competitor and transfer my personal line at AT & T into my business account for a total of 4 lines. My first visit at the AT & T Store was okay with nothing good or bad that stood out. It took their team two hours to set up just my business account and phone. I was told that we'd need to set up a "phantom" line as it was easier in their system to start a new business account and then replace that new number with my old number. However, I needed to get my personal phone number released. After being on the phone for two hours with dropped calls, wrong transfers, and incorrect steps provided by corporate AT & T, we finally were able to get the number moved over into my responsibility. Returning to the store, I was then told by the same sales associate that I was incorrect and had requested to keep both lines and my request to terminate the "phantom" line and replace it with my current number would be incredibly difficult. Their attitude was adversarial. This selfish feeling from the AT & T team members at the store continued for the duration of my visit. The sales associate requested a manager to assist who then told me that my request was indeed not possible and the better incentives were on opening a new line anyways (Which is odd since I thought AT & T's slogan right now is that everyone gets the best deals?). Again, I explained that I don't need nor want to pay for two cellular plans. They were reluctant to provide other options. I requested that they return my phone and not charge the restocking fee, close out the business line, and upgrade my old number and I'll buy back the same phone. They told me this was not possible. I urged them to try and after a while they agreed to this arrangement. This felt like used car negotiation. The sales associate then ran into road block after road block to accomplish this task. For a tech company, they have a lot of glitches and the AT & T folks admitted that it's easier to move a phone number from another company to AT & T rather than moving it internally. You would think it would be the opposite. I was at the store for three hours at this point and a two folks checked in. However, these check-ins were quite disappointing. At any given time, there were at least two sales associates not occupied by another customer and were sitting and scrolling on their phones. They could have offered small talk, seeing if I needed to go to the bathroom or eat/drink. Rather, another manager went out of their way to talk to me and said in a sarcastic tone "I know you've been here since the dawn of time, but has anyone talked to you about our heart association initiative?" The lack of self awareness and focus on AT & T initiatives made me feel like they didn't care about me as a person and only were focused on their own goals and needs. I inform them that I need to leave for important dinner plans. I'm told I can't leave in an aggressive tone and there's no explanation provided. I reiterated how I haven't gone to the bathroom, eaten, and have plans and the associate yells for a manager who the manager says he can't let me leave with the phone and asks me to leave the phone yet says he will text me when it's ready. Again, a lack of awareness. How's that plan going to work? When I got back, they had not fixed the issue and the manager did apologize for the experience and they did give it another good faith effort for another hour with no success. They said it could be 24 or 48 hours or who knows when it will be fixed and I'll just have to come by the store later. I thought this response was really strange. Why wouldn't you try and get it fixed and then call me when it's ready? Finally, the last interaction they asked me if I brought the box that the phone came in since it would mess up their inventory and they could get in trouble without it. They asked if I could look for it and bring the box back to the store. My goal was to buy this phone. Why does this matter so much and if you really need the case why wouldn't you go out of your way to get it and not inconvenience me? At this point, I figured it wouldn't hurt to try a competitor and I'm glad I did this. It took them 15 minutes to get everything DONE! It was transparent, fun, and easy. They even cared enough to ask whether I wanted a bag to carry out my phone with me. I felt like they cared. I don't know how two experiences could be so greatly different. I feel like my loyalty with AT & T didn't matter and it was a bummer that I gave them a shot at the business in the first place because of this factor. You've lost my trust, confidence, and business. read more

I have always used this location for all of my cell phone needs as this is the closet location to my house. I have always received a courteous greeting and have had good service here. Not this time though. I had come here today 9-16-22 around 6 pm to upgrade my phone and change my cell plan. When I walked into the store a short sales person with neck tattoos stared at me and just continued working with his customers. I was not expecting to be helped right away, but a "welcome in someone will be with you soon" would have been nice. A few minutes went by and another salesperson who was black said welcome to att. He was also helping another customer and I continued to wait. The whole time I was there I felt like my business was not worth their time. I had touched a phone and the security alarm went off. When the black salesperson came to turn off the alarm he did not make any sort of banter to see how I was doing. I waited about 10 minutes and I eventually left. I have been in sales for close to 20 years and I would never let a customer come into my store and not be greeted. I will not be shopping at this location again. read more

This store sucks After waiting an hour to have my phone looked at we were told by Chris we were the next customer. Well 2 customers latter I was still waiting. I asked him as he walked by why we were skipped. He took my phone brought it in the back room to a machine that transfers data, and said it would be about 7 minutes. 10 minutes later he hands us our phone and said everything worked as should. Well guess what? It didn't!! Same problem. I feel they just wanted to get rid of me and were more concerned with customers buying phones or subscribing to their system. I'm never going back to that store and seriously considering a different carrier. read more

Directed to Hawthorne location from another AT&T location, because apparently Hawthorne is corporate. AT&T online rep made unauthorized upgrades to my account. Calling 611 goes nowhere, and I don't have anymore time or energy to explain issue repeatedly to multiple reps for hours who can't be understood with heavy accents and who promise to connect me to royalty department and managers; but I get sent to 611 to start all over again. Issue is still not resolved after visiting Hawthorne, who communicated issue would be taken care of. All local AT&T stores have told me to take care of business matters online but I can't get ahold of a supervisor who speaks English online. read more

He came in with me twice before and got some lame excuse from these people. This business needs Customer service 101 classes stat! Very unimpressed and Unwelcome. I originally bought my first iPhone hear (no not first gen) but they were helpful, efficient, easy to work with. But tonight I tried to get a SIM card and was refused help. When I finally spoke up to ask if there was anyway I could just get a SIM card I was told it'd be an hour wait because "all these people want a lot on their accounts" yet there were a whole 8 people and maybe a total of 3 families so considering there were 4 people working transactions I'm not sure why there was a wait. My biggest problem was the customer service, especially considering she was the greeter. I didn't catch a name but her attitude was poor at best as if you could tell how much she hates her job by how horrible she treats customers. She even tried to threaten that I should not leave because everywhere else will charge me for a SIM card. However when I called the downtown store there was not only no wait but no charge and they really went the extra mile to help us. I'd never do business again with ATT if it was based on the customer service by this branch though. read more

Rough experience dealing with assistant manager. Tall and balding guy. Having issues with what I was sold/told from a different corporate store a couple hours away. Calling in is not helping so resorted to going into closest corporate store. All the manager wanted to do was shut me down and say I was out of luck. Said there was absolutely nothing he could do to help me and that it wasn't his stores responsibility to do anything. I suggested he get a manager on the line from the store I purchased at. He dialed it and as soon as I started talking to a manager he went into the back and I could hear a conference call opening. Do not appreciate the attitude or the lack of privacy. Every other employee in this store was dressed nice and looked professional, except for the manager. Have had Att for 15 years straight. They are definitely going downhill. Have been a customer with the same number since 1999. Have the original unlimited plan that wasn't supposed to change. For the last few years they have been capping my data usage by slowing down my data once I have used a certain amount. This is frustrating enough, then you add on the visual voice mail problem and I have had enough. I have spent hours calling their support staff and each time someone claims to have fixed it and drops my call. Visual voice mail is gone and I have to call in then type in my passcode. read more

I have been to this store many times over the years. The service has always been nice and friendly, just not very fast. Expect almost always an hour to do any kind of transaction. 2-3 hours to upgrade phones or buy a phone, etc... Being that it is the only official ATT store in Salem we are kinda stuck going here. After a wretched online experience which involved, by my estimate, no fewer than 6 different call center techs (from maybe 3 different countries) who clearly didn't understand their own company's offers, and a charmingly crafty third-party rep who snake-oiled us into buying a bunch of stuff we didn't need, we were feeling bamboozled and angry. Sonia expertly reversed every single charge and explained everything clearly. I was so impressed and grateful. While your company seems to be focused on making these purchases as confusing and difficult as possible, you did the right thing. THAT is true customer service! read more

Bought one charger for my IPhone from an AT&T store on the road. It became very, very hot. Bought another one while on the road which was not compatible with my phone. Both chargers have tags on them saying they are IPhone compatible. I was on the road both times, didn't save my receipts. Go to return them to the store in Salem a few months later. They will not give me a refund, store credit or bill credit without a receipt. Both devices have AT&T printed in them. They sent me around to three different people before they decided they would do NOTHING to fix the problem. Would not recommend this store or the company. Very unhelpful. read more

I assisted my friend, who is in her 60's, with getting help to fix her Direct TV; by calling the 800 number that showed up on her TV screen. The entire call took about 40 minutes. We waited on hold to speak with someone for 20 of those minutes. The first person we spoke with suggested that she sign up for the protection plan that is free for the first 30 days and that would waive Direct TVs fee of $99 to send a technician out. We were adamant about not wanting this protection plan but the employee continued to ask/suggest! I told her about 3 different times that my friend wasn't interested and would not be signing up! Then once they told us they wouldn't waive the $99 fee unless she signed up for the protection plan, my friend asked that the service be disconnected. They then transferred us to the loyalty department where we spoke with another representative. This person again asked/suggested several times that she sign up for the protection plan. Even after we told him repeatedly that she's not interested and would like the service disconnected. They are aggressive in their sales tactics and the wait to talk with someone is far too long!
