I got ripped off buying a craigslist 'unlocked' beautiful Note 5, there's two places to unlock.... Anyway, Salem Cell Store reprogrammed my phone so I could attach it to my carrier, all went perfectly. Until... A week later, I launch a factory reset without thinkint, OMG! I realized 10 seconds after launching it that I was wiping out my custom programming, and would have to do it again, what an idiot I was! But... To my delight, a factory reset did not undo the programming. this is next level code when then fixed that little problem. The factory restore include the programming. Great shop, and I'll buy my next ex-flagship used phone from them for sure! No more craigslist phones for me. read more

I read reviews for iphone repair near Salem and ended up going with Salem Cell Store. The ear microphone on my iPhone 4 wasn't working. I walked in & talked to Jim (James) who told me he could replace for $45 and I could pick it up in an hour. Also said it was guaranteed for 30 days. I've had it back now for three weeks and it is working great. Jim was friendly, helpful, personable and a pleasure to work with - 5 star experience all around. I highly recommend trying this small business, you'll get better service and a better deal than ATT, etc. read more

First and foremost, T-Mobile has got to be the worst service/sales under the sun. As soon as my God forsaken contract is over next month, I'm gone! They have no idea what they are doing, nor do they seem to care. I have been with them for almost a decade and they just got too big too fast. They no longer care for their customers or serving people in general. Now, about the store. The service is slow and very commercialized. All of the good agents are gone and the turnover is very high. I heard its a very stressful company to work for because they seem to care so much for the bottom dollar that individuality has been lost. With that being said, its very evident in the store. No place to sit while you are waiting and usually only a few reps to assist. So frustrating. The selection is slim and the reps seem to know very little about what they are selling. They only appear to want to sell the big ticket items and only know vague specifics about said items. I bought one device and was billed for several months for a service the device didn't even have. I mentioned this only only eight occasions but they still continued to bill me. I HATE T-Mobile! read more

James repaired my laptop screen a few years ago for way, way less then the average cost in Salem and under what you'd have to pay in Portland. Looked good as new and he helped me find the right parts on line before he ever replaced them. Hopefully I don't drop any more laptops. :) read more

The charging dock on my Iphone 5S died, so after a few hours the phone was pretty much useless. After looking at getting a new one, I took a shot at getting it repaired. For a very small fraction of the cost for a new one, I walked away with a new docking plug and a new battery. James was most cordial and easy to work with. He explained exactly what would happen, how much, and that is exactly what happened... no surprises, and in a most speedy manner. It's now working better than ever and I couldn't be happier. Less than impressed. Say they use apple products and they are knock off products from china. 20 dollars for a phone charger that costs a dollar off eBay. What a joke. Better off just paying more to get the real thing cuz they don't do money back. Same with the replacement batteries, for iPhones, they are not apple products. read more

I had broken my android and cracked the bejeesus out of the front and back. Jim was super professional and speedy with getting my phone repaired. It looked brand new and like I had never dropped it. I was grateful that it only took him an hour to fix my phone and the cost was super reasonable as well. Excellent quality plus reasonable price earns the Salem Cell Store 5 stars! iPhone screen replaced in less than 30 minutes for much less money than a new phone. He looked at the smashed screen and said "sure" he could fix the phone in about 40 minutes. I got a text in 25 minutes that it was ready. This place is great! read more

Beware of this store!!! I came in initially to replace an Iphone 4 battery, the battery died month and a half later, they charged me again (although gave me a little discount) for a new battery. Came in again to fix a power button (on/off at the top of the phone). As soon as they 'supposedly' fixed it, the sensor that darkens the screen off when you put the phone to your ear to talk stopped working. I went back, they put in a new button, the sensor still does not work. The owner (james) refused to deal with it, nor refund the money. These people don't know what they're doing. They will not give you a penny back even if they did something wrong. They order cheap/defective parts from China. read more

James was able to order me a new charging port for my phone, which was a huge deal to me because I love my phone and didn't want to have to get a different one. I was finally able to charge my phone and he was my saving grace, but when I got home, the speaker on my phone wasn't working. Imagine taking your car in to get the transmission fixed and getting a flat tire on the way home from the shop. SO ANNOYING. I took it back in a within half an hour, I had a working phone, chargeable with a working speaker. He did not even charge me to fix the speaker. I was impressed and so thankful. This guy is polite and seems to know what he's doing. read more
