This happened from my daughter's door to the parking lot (there aren't any cliffs). We were compensated about $200 for a brand new $1800 refrigerator. We didn't want to tie up our time suing so we didn't. We had a Factory service tech come out to see if it could be repaired because the compressor was making loud noises. He said that it was both leaning and twisted after using a laser measuring device and wasn't worth trying to repair. Pretty impressive but not in a good way.

I hired Gorilla Men Movers for an in-town move. They did well moving everything, but they were idle…read morefor much of the time. I was quoted for a 2 hour move, and it ended up taking 3 hours. What's more, I noticed that for much of that time (about an hour), the movers were standing around doing nothing but talking on the phone to a friend. I tried to encourage them to get back at it several times, but after a few minutes, they just went back to standing around. I wouldn't mind them taking a break, except they charged me for their idle time. What's more, since I had to move a piano, they needed three movers to be present, which increased the hourly cost. Takeaways: don't trust the estimate, expect to be overcharged.

He shows up its just him and a small trailer. Like the ones that small maintenance companies use for basic lawn care. He spent 2 hours loading that tiny trailer and didn't put a dent in anything. So I cancelled it and offered to pay him $125 for the little work he did. His plan was to do the 2 trips with that little trailer and charge me the $375. There was no way he was getting the rest of it on that second load. I could have taken twice what he took on that trailer in the bed of my pickup. He refused my offer of $125 and counter offered at $225. I refused his offer of $225. After I told him he didn't do $225 in work he said I cancelled in the middle of the job and would bill me the $375 and that if I refused to pay I will see him in court. Guess we are going to court. I chose him because he was a veteran and I though I would help a guy out but lesson learned.
