No worries, because believe it or not, we've found some lovely additions for our new home at HomeGoods The price was right and the pieces of furniture selected have been perfect! One thing consistent about the store in Abingdon is the customer service. The associates are always helpful and cheerful. Checkout is easy and even returns are quick (at least w/a receipt). Not that I return things often, but on the two occasions I have it was simple.

They have everything from chocolate candy to furniture. There is something for everyone here. This is that store you think you were going in for a can opener and come out with a chair, Dog bed and some wine glasses as well as the can opener lol. If you can stay on track they do have a clearance section towards the back of the store that has had very decent items! Oh furniture has their own clearance section in that area..just FYI. Truthfully I give this store lots of props. Even though everything is filled to the brim, it seems most areas are well organized. That is truly a great thing to see because when you go to TJmaxx which they are affiliated to, it's not this organized. So way to go team! All in all this location is very lovely.

Last week was the first time I felt belittled in a store like this. So, they have several white (or…read morelight-colored) sofa sets on display, like 5 sets that time. There were no signs whatsoever that you can't sit on them. This lady, store coordinator, approached my husband and kids and told then not to sit on it. I mean just because our skin color is different than yours doesn't mean we'll make it dirty. Not like my kids were eating or drinking there. I actually asked them to finish their food before we went inside because it's not allowed (we do that in furniture stores, not just here by the way). There were other people there too but I felt targeted. Stop putting them on display or at least put a sign so people would know not to sit on them (makes it hard when you're shopping for one). Please don't make your customers feel or look at like they're less than you are. Anyway, first in a Home Sense store, second in this area.

Let's get real though you either go to the actual brand name store (and pay a arm leg and sometimes a foot) or you out source for a better deal! In my world, I could care less..if I like it then I'll wear it! They also have shoes, housewares, bedding, jewelry, comestics, animal items, carry men clothing, children clothing, even snack foods! Meaning dresses for juniors are in one spot, shorts are in their section and so on. His experience, product and service knowledge , and customer service are unsurpassed in today's retail world where it is almost nonexsistent. Went to them in late November 2025 as my current sofa came here as well and was happy with that…read morepurchase. Met with Karen who assisted me in my selections exactly for a sofa to my specs. Was given a contract, gave a deposit and said that it would be ready for delivery the second week in February. After two days into that week, I emailed her expecting her to call me to touch base about the order and learned that the sofa had not been done as the fabric I chose was not available. I expected a sales rep to have their management skills to be ahead of any potential problem as my contract is with Sofas Etc. and not Sherrill Furniture who is their agent making the furniture. After some back and forth, I was told that if I came in the store, I could pick out another fabric and was told that they would be "moving me to the head of the line above everyone else to get my softa within the next 6 weeks." While at the store, Karen called and spoke to the agent at Sherrill and learned that they just got the fabric in again and I could get the fabric of my choice. I said to Karen that I felt a little mismanaged in that there was no way I was receiving communication from anyone about the fabric. It was really Sofas Etc. that I had the contract with and obviously, no one was caring to communicate after I left the deposit. The Owner offered placating remarks and with my health compromised, I just wanted to go home and not deal with this kind of treatment. I left the store thinking that it was really coming and would be done in the beginning of April. I emailed Karen right after the beginning of April: "Another deadline missed?" in the subject line of my email and she then emailed me back saying they would look into it. The Owner emailed me exclaiming that they were having problems not getting communications with them. That Karen received messages that the fabric was there and also that it wasn't. I just felt abused and neither Karen nor the owners were taking any responsibility for the process at all. I didn't bother coming back to the store and told them to credit my deposit in full immediately. After all that, the Owner still insisted that perhaps he could offer a heavily discounted price if I would just let them try to get it done again. I just wanted the abuse of the whole process to be done and credit my account immediately. I have to put the onus onto Sofas Etc. as they had the contract with me and they should have been guiding and managing the process including all communications instead of operating from a "reactionary" process.
