Over the past 1.5 years, I have shopped several times at this store and have been happy with my…read morepurchases. This latest purchase was not a similar experience. I went in looking for a small coffee table and found one that is glass/metal/wood. It was just the right size and matches the end tables I had bought a year ago. It was a good price, so they suggested that I just pick it up at the store when it arrived instead of paying almost $100 for delivery. In the past, I have had my purchases delivered and they arrive in one piece and are placed where I want them. This latest purchase made my head spin....is this now IKEA??? I arrive and am directed to the back for customer pick-up. The guy loads a box into my car. I bring home about 100 lbs. of coffee table PARTS!!! What??? The instructions say I will need to furnish my own screwdriver, they even have a picture of a good old standard screw driver;...so I go to my toolbox and get one. Part of the assembly ( an hour of IKEA-like hell ) is to screw the wooden panel into the frame. There are no holes or starts of holes in the wood. It would take a young athletic person with a LOT of muscle to put those screws into that thick hardwood panel by hand with a standard screwdriver. Sheesh. I am neither young, nor athletic. The metal pieces that are labeled with letters A, B, C, D are labeled with stickers that don't peel off. I tried soaking them off with a damp towel, but the adhesive is still on there. Can I use acetone or Goo Gone on them?? I have no idea. It could very well ruin the metal. I cannot predict....so I leave them as they are. I get my power screwdriver out and attempt to assemble this coffee table. But, because of the plethora of right angles, one cannot drive the screws straight in through the holes in the metal brackets and into the wood panel. It is not possible. The screws, then, end up at a slight angle and are not flush with the surface once they are all the way in. By the time I am done getting the pieces out of the packaging, assemble it as well as I can with the resources I have; I was quite ready to throw the thing on to the fire pit and burn it. Haverty's needs to put signs on all of the furniture that requires the customer to assemble it. I would have NEVER bought this piece if I had known. You are going the way of IKEA and it's not a good look. I'm in my early 60's. I deserve, as your customer, to be warned. I thought I was shopping in a fairly classy furniture store. I guess not-so-much anymore.

I feel like I got judged and discriminated against today by the owner Mark. First time I met him was today. I inquired about tarped wood sitting in the parking lot. Rather than helping me, he seemed more interested in removing wood that he wanted to plane and sell and I was a distraction to his newly found treasure. As we were walking to go back in the store, he basically dismissed me. "Okay, thanks for stopping by." He literally stood in front of the door. I said, "I am sorry, did you assume I was not going to purchase the wood we looked at or look at anything else?" This was very insulting... He said, "that wood is very expensive. This comment alone told me that he judged me as someone who couldn't afford what I was looking at. Bad news for you is that I can afford it and your discrimination doesn't deserve a penny from me. Owner (Mark) don't bother responding. A response from you will never convince me that you don't discriminate. BTW: This place is way overpriced! Some of the stuff looks like garbage picked up off the side of the road.

Upon our return we learned they were planning to close up the store earlier than what was posted, so we purchased the items we had found earlier. One of the items was a set of marble heart shaped coasters. Well, it was not a complete set and there were not complete sets to be found in the store. The price was adjusted accordingly and we left happy. Had we shown up 15 minutes later, the store would have been closed. I get it because it was bitter cold outside and almost NOBODY was out and about in Biltmore village that day.

The As Seen On TV stuff is there quite a lot. I got the lavender and it didn't grow. But it was like $3 so it didn't hurt my feelings. They have a ton of stuff for your house. Linens, dishes, pillows, bathroom stuff, kitchen appliances, storage solutions. They also have food items that are jarred, bagged, and bottled as well as candy items. Lotions and body care items. Pictures and pet items. There's a lot to look at and usually pretty good prices.
