At home auto glass replaced the windshield in my adult daughter's car. Less than a year after the work, the windshield is leaking huge amounts of water into the interior. It's really not safe to even drive and of course, it's raining every day in Florida.(she has no garage so the car is outside). She has called 12 times in the past 2 weeks to get this fixed under "warranty". What a joke. And not a funny one! Always use Safelite. These people are scammers. I had the same exact experience as Jason C.'s review. I think the guy's name was James that was at Toyota Clearwater doing the same thing. Taking immediate photos of my car's windshield without anyone first speaking with me, even when I wasn't out of the car yet. Someone from Toyota should first speak with you before anyone from At Home Auto Glass starts trying to get you to say yes to a new windshield. Seems to be a total grift to get money from insurance companies for very little marks in a window shield. I even told the guy that I was soon getting married and didn't want to deal with something unnecessary but clearly he didn't care. He never followed up to schedule a replacement appointment with me even tho he said he would multiple times. I followed up and again he said he would immediately then stopped replying. Really disappointed as now I have to cancel the claim and now won't ever use this company or go back to Toyota Clearwater ever again. read more

I'm not even sure where to start! In the state of Florida with full coverage auto insurance you can replace your windshield when provided with enough evidence. Key word EVIDENCE!!! I was TRAINED to commit insurance fraud. " they may only have one or two chips, Florida requires 4 or more. So just go ahead and indicate additional chips even if they are not there. That way you can close the sale". For OBVIOUS reasons I no longer work with this company and its partner offices. The same company wouldn't need 3 different LLCs if they were a legit company. WARNING do not use!!! They were in the honda dealership and wanted to repair our cracked windshield. The first guy broke the trim piece and more of the windshield. Took another week for a second guy to come out. He replaced the windshield but left job with zero trim. Rescheduled to bring the trim...going on 2 weeks and still no trim, PLUS rain is now coming in the top on the inside of the vehicle which has nothing to do with the bottom trim still missing. So far...3 missed appointments and I can't drive my Honda odyssey. read more

This company is the reason why I won't even go get an oil change anymore at Honda, which I have done for the past 5 years. The guy wouldn't take no for an answer! They are deceiving and make it seem like they work for Honda and casually mention a crack in your windshield. Next thing you know, they are taking photos of your VIN and random ones of your car, trying to get your car insurance information to call on your behalf to file a claim? I can do that myself if I wanted to. Regardless, I told the guy no 4 times while sitting in the service lane. 20 minutes later he is tracking me down in the lounge to show me the Florida Statue on replacing the windshield. Had some rock chips and a guy at dealership said there was enough tv for repair under Florida Law so I agreed as it free to me as deductible waived and does not count against you on insurance. It was easy as they handled insurance side. Got appointment between 9 and 1. Guy was here at 845, was very professional and did replacement right in my driveway took him about an hour. After getting my time wasted , I am concluding that these people are Fraudulent. I was at Sarasota Toyota getting my vehicle serviced. While in the waiting room , my wife and I were approached by a young man whom we thought worked at the dealership. He told how dangerous the 3 tiny ( pin dot ) chips are and we are violating Florida State Law!!! So we go inside and he calls our insurance company to start a claim. I was told to LIE, and say the issue was bigger than a dollar. It made me feel uncomfortable , but being pressured , I did it anyway. I was informed by my insurance representative that they would pay a set amount for the windshield and a set amount for the recalibrating of the forward facing safety systems. Anything beyond that and I would be responsible for the remaining cost. I asked Zion for a written quote and he brought me a quote from Sarasota Toyota Parts Dept. for the price of the windshield. I asked for the Labor quote and I was told they do not do those. This is when I asked if they are affiliated with Sarasota Toyota. Zion said No. I told him I want a quote. He had some guy come in ( his manager) who assured me that all costs would be covered , and not to worry about anything. I call B.S. on this and refused any of their services. I had to call my insurance company back and cancel the claim. I am in No violation of Florida Law , and am really upset with myself for falling into their scam. I am also FURIOUS with Sarasota Toyota for allowing these criminals to hover over peoples automobiles and swoop in for a scam attack. And for the owners of this business , do not bother responding with some BS apology. You are crooks and you know it. Don't try to sling more words to try to dissuade your involvement in fraud. BEWARE: SCAM COMPANY. These people are engaging in insurance fraud. While my elderly mother was waiting at the Clearwater Toyota dealership for a routine oil change to be completed on her car, a young man in a uniform approached her and said he had scanned her front windshield and found multiple weak spots in it. He told my mother that her front windshield needed to be replaced immediately for safety reasons, and that her insurance would cover it. My mother thought the young man was affiliated with the dealership, so she made an appointment with the young man to get a windshield replacement done at home. As soon as she came home and told me all this, I told her this was a well-known auto glass scam (there is ZERO damage on her front windshield). She checked with her insurance and confirmed with them as well that this was a scam. Another family member had to call this company multiple times to get the appointment canceled. They used scare tactics on my mother and actively lied to her to aggressively sell unneeded windshield replacement services. It is an absolute shame that businesses using tactics like these are allowed to continue thriving. read more

Terrible service! i had to come share my experience because it was such a headache. My husband and I had a sales men come up to me at the dealership who explained the process of getting the windshield replaced and said it would be an original windshield not after market. When the technician arrived the woman he had with him told my husband the job would be done in an hour and a half and it took almost 3 hours!! NOT OKAY! I specified we had a trip and needed the car as soon as possible well we ended up being delayed for the trip and now we are far from home and the car has an air noise while on the highway which i will be making a call about once im back in town, but it doesn't end there how can i trust a company who sends a person who doesn't even look like they know what they are doing , i was left to speak with a woman the technician had with him while working ismari i wasnt able to get the mans name but he spoke no english zero people skills! Terrible!! I met the rep at the toyota service in dept, in Sarasota and after I asked about the warranty, he said "just come here to Toyota Service". My windshield was replaced on a 2023 Highlander. Everything was perfect with my vehicle until the replacement. I have a leak, and not a small leak. The water is going behind the dashboard and pouring on my feet. The technician who came to my home for the 2nd time made excuses about my sunroof which I never open. He left and I still had a leak. I called Toyota Service and found out the rep lied about the warranty. Because my Toyota dealership is honest the found the problem. The roof rail which meets up at the top of the windshield was lifted and 7 clips broken. Now, if the technician who replaced the windshield knew what he did, he should have accepted responsibility and I would have gotten repairs done and NO LEAKS. The window was filthy inside and out ( couldn't even see outside the window), and when inspecting it a couple of days later, I realized that a portion of the window was missing a seal, which keeps the water out. Apparently, the Toyota dealer was getting a kickback on the sales of this company. There were several men who somehow got into our gated community going door to door after looking at car windshields in front of buildings. The salesman was very good and had a claim set up for me (not by me) with my insurance company before I realized what was happening. After they left I contacted the resident office and they had no idea they were on the property. They were going to find them and make them leave. After that I spoke with my daughter who agreed this was sketchy so we contacted our insurance company and canceled the claim, explaining what had happened. I also contacted the company to cancel as well. I feel very silly and taken advantage of as a senior. Please don't fall for the slick sales tactics and don't allow them to see your phone because that's how they file the claim for you. I thought he was just going to show me what to do. read more

On Friday, 2/21/25, I was having my vehicle serviced at Sarasota Honda for a recall. "Brian R." [(941) 650-9697] trainer/trainee said the chip in my windshield could not be repaired because it was "through and through." The duo took a photo of my insurance card (personal information on my insurance card). I had to call and follow-up on the status because I was hung up on twice when I tried calling the phone number they provided. I subsequently called their office and the guy who answered the phone "Corey" was unprofessional and when I asked for Brian R.'s last name said it's a long one then said he didn't know which "Brian R." I was talking about. I told him the "Brian R." that was at the Sarasota Honda this morning! He then said he'll pass on my phone number and said I should hear from "Brian R." I received text msg(s) from the phone number they provided and the story then became: Liberty Mutual is one of the hardest companies we try to deal with and it has to have a significant crack along with the chip. In essence, Liberty Mutual denied their attempted insurance claim request and lo and behold then "Brian R." says it can be repaired and told is to contact Safelite Auto glass. SCAMMERS and I intend to further investigate and contact the powers that be at the Honda dealership and beyond. Our service guy said they do about 15 windshield (or whatever) replacements a day. Again, Scammers. They must over bill insurance companies and Honda must be getting a kickback. And At Home Auto Glass probably sells people's personal information. read more

I needed my windshield replaced and I called the dealership where I purchased the car to see if they replaced windshields. They said yes. I went to the dealership on July 9,2024. The associate at the dealership was friendly. The lady I talked to told me I could get my windshield fixed on Wednesday, then I received a text stating that the windshield wouldn't be in until Thursday. I had an appointment an hour and a half away from my home. so I had to reschedule the time for the next day, which was Friday. I thought no problem, It will be alright the crack wasn't that big. well the hotter it got the bigger the crack became. The installer was to be at my house no later than 1 pm. I had not received a confirmation call or text to say that they were on the way. So I called the same young lady that initially did my order. She intern told me that the glass was delivered damaged. It wasn't such a big deal the first time but when it happened 2 more times. I ended up having to call them to see what was going on with my windshield. I spoke with a manager who assured me they were just a frustrated as I was. I said that was impossible because we are talking about my safety. Her retort was "and we haven't gotten paid yet." In essence she was comparing my safety to money. That rubbed me the wrong way. I had to wait 2 weeks for my windshield. On the day the windshield was supposed to be installed I called 3 times that morning and I didn't get an answer. The voicemail was full so I texted 3 more times. To no avail. I was so desperate I called the dealership to have them to call the glass company. Eventually I received a text stating the the glass was in the warehouse and not damaged. If it was damaged this time I would have canceled the order and went with someone else. The installers were nice. If you want a company that puts your safety first before profit, please, go somewhere else. I thought going through my dealer would be a better experience. AVOID THIS SCAM. Repairs look beautiful, but the company did not pre-approve the work with my insurance company (to find out my deductible, if my repairs were covered, etc). It should not cost over $2,000 to replace a windshield, so it's understandable that my insurance company is balking at the charges for the claim they filed...three MONTHS after the work was done on my car. Suing me to get me to pay tenfold for something that should cost $200-300 MAX is really low and honestly terrible business practice. We have had nothing but problems with the windshield replacements. My son's car was flooded when he went through the car wash last week, and the tech that came out told him it wasn't their fault and the company wouldn't take liability. His windshield wipers aren't working, and again you said it isn't any fault of yours. However, NONE of these issues were occurring prior to your sales person showing up at my door on a Sunday afternoon insisting the windshields needed to be replaced. I can assure you no water ever flooded my son's car, or dash board before your company handled his car. I had to wait days before a tech could come out and resolve the error codes in my dash telling me that my crash detection was disabled and needed immediate repair. Now, I have what looks like large spider-like cracks in my lower windshield with what appears to be some sort of epoxy or glue or something in the center. Had a nice gentleman speak with me about a chip he noticed in my windshield at a RaceTrac in Sarasota. Admittedly, I got caught up in the situation and agreed to getting it taken care of. After discussing the scenario with some co-workers, I decided to take a step back and re-examine the whole scenario. So, I called up the number on the paperwork I had been given and requested to cancel the appointment. The lady on the phone was nice and professional. She told me she could not find my info in the system, but would take a note with my phone number to ensure it would be canceled. I thanked her and figured all was well. Until... The phone call I just received. The gentleman I spoke with initially at the RaceTrac reintroduced himself and informed me that the installers would be on their way; calling when they were close. I informed him that I had called the day before and canceled. He seemed taken aback and asked who I had spoken with. I informed him that I wasn't aware of her name, but I called the number on the paperwork he gave me. He asked about rescheduling for another day, and I told him that I did not wish to proceed at this time due to needing to take care of other things at this time. He responded with a "Thank you for wasting my time", then hung up on me. Life happens, people cancel for a multitude of reasons. Other than the random encounter at a RaceTrac, I had no reason to doubt the legitimacy of the company. I wasn't even ruling them out to handle the work in the future. I just wanted to cancel to take a step back and review everything and perhaps other options. I'm so very impressed with the customer service and the employees that work for this company! They helped me so much, I had a horrible experience with another glass company called Adonis they improperly installed the glass so it was leaking and it ended up making my carpet smell humid (stay away from Adonis auto glass they are scammers) at home auto went way above and beyond and took me in as a new customer. They installed a new windshield perfectly nice and neat, the technicians are very kind and have 20 plus years of experience, also at home auto glass company gave me $50 gift card!!! They didn't have to but they kept their word so I wouldn't have to deal with the previous scammer Windsheild company ! How awesome is that !
