This is my second time being in this shop, over 6 months apart, and I could honestly say that the service has been outstanding. The first time I was in was to get a tire fixed. They went above and beyond to look for the leak. Nothing was found. This time around, I got my oil changed they checked everything that needed to be checked. No surprise cost or charges. I feel that I have always gotten value for what I paid hands down. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. I've always said A to Z Auto Repair is the most honest and trustworthy shop around, and once again, they proved why I'll never take my car anywhere else. Back in June 2024, I had an intake manifold installed by Bayshore Truck & Auto Services. Less than 700 miles later, it needed to be replaced. It was still under warranty, but when I called Bayshore, they refused to tow my car because I was outside their 50-mile coverage area. So, I took it to A to Z Auto Repair, where Howard, the General Manager, stepped in and made things right. Howard spoke with Bayshore and worked out a deal so A to Z could replace the part at no extra cost to me. That kind of customer service is unheard of these days! They didn't just fix my car--they went out of their way to help me when another shop wouldn't. I can't say enough great things about A to Z. They actually care about their customers, and that's why they've had my business for years--and will continue to for as long as I'm in Florida. I've found them to to be honest, courteous and trustworthy. I asked them to check my car to see if it needed an induction service and a four wheel alignment. The auto dealership where I bought my car told me I needed to get both of those done at a cost of over $400. A-Z reassured me that I didn't have to get either one of those done. read more

worst place, Dejesus charged me $2600 for a new transmission, pick up my car and it was still the same. it's been my head gasket the whole time, he doesn't text back or call. He messed up my bumper towing my car and tried to tell me it was like that already but I sent him a picture to pick it up and my bumper was completely fine. He then was called and told me he had a headache and didn't have time for me, and I can take my car elsewhere even though he's been telling me he is picking up my car. He told my grandpa he doesn't have time for us and don't call him. He blocked my number. I doubt he even changed the transmission. I have to sue and get the police involved just to get my money back. ABSOLUTELY WOULDNT RECOMMEND! He doesn't even deserve one star! read more

Criminally misquoted. I was given a list of things I didn't ask for or need. All I needed was new throttle body. They were asking for almost 2k for the "repairs". Not to mention the fella I was talking to seemed to have an attitude. I'm not sure why. I just towed it home and did the repair myself. I suggest everyone get a cheap OBD reader. It's a shame. I have taken my car there a few times. It seems to be hit and miss on who you actually deal with. But they lost me as customer. There are more honest places around town. read more

All the great reviews these folks get are truly deserved! I came in this morning at around 10:30 with my 2004 Honda Element. I made the error in judgement of going thru a new car wash. My radio antenna resides on the roof of my car and the very rough top brush "ate" my antenna right down to the base. Luckly, I was able to buy a used complete assembly (the original replacement was discontinued). I called and spoke with Raymond, told him my tale of woe, he said no problem. Bring it in and we'll replace the broken one, Long story short, I received a call at around 1pm to come and get it...it's all finished! Wow! And my radio now works beautifully! The price was very reasonable and everyone there couldn't have been nicer. I've found my repair shop! read more

I have visited A-Z on multiple occasions. Generally well satisfied in all respects with advice and work performed. Most recently, however, as it seems with all businesses after Covid, I experienced a "hiccup" in that evaluation. I took my 14 year old Mercedes to have the A/C checked and refrigerant added if necessary (first time), and to have a general check up on the vehicle since a check engine light had appeared and later disappeared. The A/C work was performed satisfactorily and for a reasonable charge. Refrigerant added, now cooler air. They even had me bring it back for no additional charge to check for any leaks a week later. Good work. Appreciated. However when the vehicle was returned on the initial visit, I was advised that the car was idling rough and needed to have the intake manifold replaced, with an estimate of $1800, parts and labor. I asked whether I could furnish the necessary parts and they said it was not their policy. So I declined. When I started the vehicle it suddenly had a surging and very rough idle at low rpms which did not exist when I brought the car to them and was attributed to the intake manifold. I took it home and made an appointment for a second opinion at another dealer from whom I had received a mail solicitation. "Free second opinion." In the interim, I examined the engine, removed the air cleaner housing box and inspected the MAF sensor at the rear. I noted that a metal clip that fastened the box to the engine was bent down and was preventing the box from seating properly around its perimeter and over the MAF sensor gasket at the rear, allowing air infiltration. I took a pair of pliers , repaired the metal clip and refastened the housing to the engine, making certain that there were no further leaks. Now generally in most cars such leaks before the MAF sensor, throttle body and intake manifold would not have made much difference. Immediately, however, I started the car and the idle was steady and the surging and roughness previously recurring disappeared. It has continued to operate flawlessly since that time. No engine codes. No check engine light. So, unless it was a magical coincidence, that likely created the problem and the tech was careless in refastening the filter box. I do NOT believe this was in any manner intentional or sinister or done to promote additional possibly unintentional work, but more likely the result of the reputation of this engine for having an intake manifold problem at its current mileage and just assuming that this was the problem. Would I go back to A to Z again? Absolutely. Oh, by the way, Jesses European DiD check the vehicle, or so they said, found no codes or problems but STILL recommended the replacement of the intake manifold ("common problem in these engines" they said) with an estimate of $3800. The estimate was not itemized as legally required for parts and labor and I will NEVER go back there. Very shady business. That estimate is absurdly overpriced. The OEM manifold is $600 to $1200 (yes, identical part varies by that much) and 4 hours of estimated labor from real mechanic. I have driven the car more than a week since then and had no problems. Steer clear of Jesses. It is the latest model of a "franchise" type operation with hyped marketing, too many "owners" or "investors" trying to skim the profit from mechanics and, and they violate Florida law with regard to notices and estimates, in addition to their absurd "estimate.' read more

I don't really write reviews, but this dealership absolutely deserves one! I fell upon hard times I needed to get a car quickly. I had limited resources to work with. I walked into the dealership I took the car for a test drive and decided to purchase it Little did I know it was the owner that was actually my sales person. The minute I walked into the dealership I felt very comfortable. I purchased my and the process was very easy and pleasant. The staff was very genuine from the owner, right down to, the mechanics that I spoke with regarding my car. I live in Florida without family in the area. When the owner asked me if I had any family in the area to help me with anything I told him no. His response to me was "well now you do! "I cried! I was having trouble with oil leaking from my 2004 Cadillac Deville at one quart per 200 miles. They found the valve cover gaskets were leaking very badly and replaced them. They also found that two of the eight cylinders were causing a misfire which I had noticed but didn't mention it. I felt a slight bump in the engine while driving. They also noticed it and called me about replacing the spark plugs and coil wires to correct that problem. I said, go ahead and do what you think it needs. Now it runs so smooth. almost like a new car. I also could not believe how fair the bill was for all of this work. It takes a lot for me to trust an auto repair shop due to past experiences, including a lot of fresh open wounds. They really took care of her, very fair price and pointed out a genuine concern (shes got an old wonky car) - quoted a low price and put no pressure for her to do it soon or even there. We drove cross country and my oil light came on. They checked my car to make sure all was well and changed mg oil for me. They we super kind! A few weeks later my hazard light went on so I called and Dawn said come anytime and I'll take care of it for you. He gave me great advice and instructed me to take precautions so my car battery wouldn't die. Essentially shut off my hazard so I can go on with my day and told me he would order the part and quote me. He told me I shouldn't feel pressured to get it fixed by them. I love this shop. They recognized in their recommended repairs that the car had over 90k miles on it. The owner asked if it was a second car used infrequently. To which I replied "yes". They consequently recommended new tires rated for 50k miles. I knew we needed four new tires so appreciated they did not try and up sell me fancy tires. I will bring my cars back to this shop. After living in Sarasota for 17 years I finally find a decent auto mechanic just as I'm leaving! These guys go the extra mile. Not pushy but they do look for problems and let you know about them. I came in for some brake work and they found a strut rod on the front left wheel that was almost worn thru! If it had gone on the highway I'd have been toast. It couldn't be replaced with a new one so they sent it out and they welded in new metal. Looked like new when they got it back the same day. Didn't charge me for having it done as they exchange work with the welding shop for free. As good or better than any garage I've used in 45 years of driving. Thanks!!! read more

I brought on 2005 Tsx, it was having very bad vibration at idle in drive and reverse. I expected that a new transmission would be needed. A-Z took in the car and said they would figure out the problem. A day later I found out that a motor and transmission mount was needed along with front brakes replacement. I agreed and the vehicle was fixed right away. After receiving the vehicle the vibration was completely gone. If you want an honest opinion on your vehicle this is the place to take your vehicle. Very honest and reasonably priced. You will not have to worry about any up-sales for what is not required for your vehicle. They made a customer for life! Thank you Don and team! read more
