YOU WANT TO READ THIS. I edited my review after learning that we could request an OEM - Original Equipment Manufacturer glass, otherwise they wouldn't bother to offer it. Mine was installed today, the brand name is Fuyao. I wish I could get original Toyota one. I even mentioned to them that I almost installed at Toyota dealership. Had my windshield damaged by a rock on the highway and replacement was handled through my insurance. The reservation process couldn't have been easier--everything was set up in minutes without me having to do much at all. When I arrived, check-in was fast and smooth. The staff was ready for me, and they got started on the repair right away. The whole process was quicker than I expected, and the quality of work looks great. Please note that I choose morning appointment. And it gets busier around 9 am. The waiting area was clean, comfortable, and had just what I needed to pass the time--nothing fancy, but definitely decent. They have a couple tables, where I can do my work while waiting. They also provide coffee. I anticipate about 3hrs (that's what they told me) since they need to recalibrate the windshield as well BUT it's ended up quicker than expected. Overall, a smooth and efficient experience from start to finish. Since I am covered by my insurance, I can only guess that they have a reasonable pricing. Would recommend! read more

Ignore those cute commercials. Go elsewhere for your windshield repair. I live in a major metro area, and they have no mobile service here. I took my car into their local shop in Sarasota for a very small ding in my windshield. They told me ahead of time that if the crack spread during the repair, they had no windshield replacement on hand. How do you run a business like that? I requested an adjustment to the pricing (which is predetermined no matter how big or small the job) and was denied. After a few minutes, the tech showed me the repair which appears OK, for now. But I left $185 poorer and unhappy. I felt totally ripped off. read more

On 6/10/2025 I had a 10 am appt to have my front windshield replaced at safelite on Washington Blvd. My problem with this facility my truck was bought band new with the OEM FORD word written behind the rear view mirror they didn't replace it with the same glass. They didn't ask if I wanted OEM glass replacement. My insurance was 0 deductible glass replacement their should not have been any additional charges. why not give me the glass i came in with. Instead I was given a aftermarket glass replace with (A-line). I'll still use them. read more

Wish I could give negative stars. Scheduled with safelite through my insurance provider, State Farm, to repair two small cracks in the windshield of my car. I have a 2023 VW Taos, not even a year old yet, and was assured when making the appointment that they would replace with an OEM windshield. I brought my car in and was told it would take 2-3 hours since they would need to calibrate the forward facing cameras that are part of the lane assist and collision prevention system that is housed in the windshield/rear view mirror equipment. I received a call 1 1/2 hours into the appointment and was told they have bad news. They used an after market windshield which then broke the brackets and rear view mirror and it's housing since it was not the proper glass and bracket system for a taos. I was told they would try to get the OEM glass to replace it with and that I would have to drive around without a rear view mirror for a week(HELLO- ILLEGAL!!). I was handed my keys and sent on my way without any apology for how they broke the equipment on my new car. I found the rear view mirror and camera components shoved into my glove box and they scratched up the mirror housing which they GLUED to the windshield since they broke the bracket. I called State Farm right up and they set me up with a local glass repair company that isn't a bunch of hacks like Safelite. WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE and SHAME ON YOU SAFELITE AND ALL OF YOUR EMPLOYEES for treating people's cars this way. Absolutely disgusting. Will never use your company ever again nor will my family or friends. read more

The absolute worst. They are impossible to get a hold of over the phone and don't care about using the right tools for the job. The techs aren't trained enough and overworked. Buyer beware. Even though they are "recommended" by many insurance (who actually pays Safelite to process their glass only claims for them), the quality of their competitor is much better and being able to interact with a real person is worth its weight in gold. Plus the competition I used was able to do my ADAS recalibration mobile which Safelite couldn't do. Best part? The competition was a PREFERRED provider by my insurance - just Safelite doesn't want you to know that. Shady business and poor craftsmanship. Even got a warranty that covers free rock chip repairs on my new windshield. Shape up Safelite and grow an ethical backbone. read more

I drove to the shop on the 301 to get an estimate on a cracked windshield. I told the rep I had lights flood lights on my jeep and he would like to come outside and look at it before he gives me an estimate. Nope, not necessary. When the tech arrived at my house, he took one look and said he couldn't do the job and would return when I dismantled the lights myself. I found another company (Gulf Coast Auto Glass) that reassured me they could do the job probably without even removing the lights. Safelite has gotten too big for their own good. They contract with car insurance companies and could care less about the "little guy" like me. As I later learned, they're not going to do anything for you if it takes extra time. They will simply move on to the next job. Customer Service is a thing of the past with these guys. Move on to another company that actually cares and is hungry for your business. If I could split this review for the tech/service and installation department, I would give tech 5 starts. For the management team, I would give zero stars. I had the most unpleasant experience with the assistant manager (Matt) at the Washington street location in Sarasota, I will not return there, nor recommend them. From the minute I walked in, he was rude and had an attitude. When I checked in, it was apparent I was given incorrect information by the on-location tech the week before. I was expecting the original windshield to be there for install. They informed me how much the difference was, WAY more than what was quoted. Instead of apologizing, he became indignant, cut me off and told me "I'll stop talking bc you have all the answers" and walked away. When I stepped outside to confirm that pricing with my insurance, he came over and told me I was holding them and making them late. Once I had confirmation, I decided not to spend the extra $675 on the original windshield and went back inside to let the receptionist know I would move forward with the install. I went outside to wait for my ride. That's when Matt came back over and said, "I need your keys and you need to move, you're holding us up..." I explained I was waiting for my ride and had a bunch of bags etc to transfer to the person picking me up. That's when he said If I did't give him the keys he would cancel my appointment! My response was something like "What is it with you, you've been in my face since I got here?" He turned and said "Forget it I'm canceling your appointment!" and walked away. No offer to help me move all my bags, no apology for the confusion on the pricing, and then threatening to cancel an appointment??? I was left with no choice to go back inside to reception, give her my keys and ask that he not have anything to do with my car whatsoever. I was nervous and stressed when I had to go back and pick the car up that he would be confrontational again. The whole experience left me rattled, and extremely uncomfortable. He should not be allowed to intimidate people, especially a woman. I was never treated so rudely by a customer service representative. If he was my employee, he would be fired. I had a wonderful experience at this location. I went to another auto glass shop to repair a crack and they told me the entire window needed to be replaced. I called my insurance company to file a claim and they sent me to safelite. I had an appointment 30 minutes after filing the claim. Once I arrived the woman at the desk was very friendly, took the time to explain the process, go over information if something goes wrong, and answer any questions I had. They got the repair done in 30 minutes and there was no need to replace my windshield. Thank you! read more

It took a long time to finally schedule an appointment. They kept canceling and rescheduling three different appointments to have my cars windshield replaced and those 3 times they told me last minute when I actually had the car there one morning to have repaired that the glass they had was damaged. Ok three times glass damaged and no one tell you beforehand? They never checked before for the condition of the glass they will make you drive there to tell you they can't help you and all employees siting outside doing nothing! And tell you to reschedule again. When I spoke on the phone the employee had a bad attitude and told me I'm welcoming to bring somewhere else and that's what I did. After filing an insurance claim. Like he has done in the past several times. My husband had Safelite come out just now to replace his windshield on his Land Rover..the chip was small. He figured he'd get it done while he was working from home. The technician came out and while we were in the house he dismantled the old windshield to put the new one on. A few moments later we get a call from him outside saying that whoever put the last windshield on damaged the vehicle and he can't put a new one and said he was leaving and to call the manager. We called the manager and he said their was nothing he could do. That he doesn't have us on file in the Safelite system and that we've ever used them for service which is a blatant lie. We have all the proof of the last 3 claims that were done were through them with our insurance. They literally left my husbands car dismantled with no windshield on it and took his personal property (his old windshield with him) threw his wipers a parts in the back seat, left his keys on the dash and hightailed it out there before we could even finish talking to the manager. When we went back outside he was gone, my husband couldn't even talk to the technician. Allen the manager in Sarasota was so unprofessional and rude on the phone to my husband it was unreal. Told my husband that they can't touch the vehicle..and refuse to put a new one on and we'll have to get it towed..and that it's not their problem..to call our insurance..our insurance told us safelite was the last company to service our windshield and that to get it fixed we needed to pay the thousand dollar deductible...to fix the frame where the technician clearly bent it..what was supposed to be an easy small claim fix turned into an absolute nightmare..left our vehicle stranded and dismantled in the middle of a National Crisis. My 80 year old mom's windshield was hit by a small rock that resulted in a quarter size crack. Not long after, the crack began to grow substantially and quickly. we spoke with her insurance agent who directed us to Safelite. We spoke with them on Friday afternoon and they gave us the option of going to their location the next (Sat) morning or them coming to my moms home the following Monday morning. We opted for them to come to her. They gave a four hour window of when they'd arrive. We received a call from the tech performing the service before 8 AM to let us know his estimated arrival time and that he would call again when he was on his way, which he did. He gave us an estimated time of completion and delivered a little earlier than that. When he left, everything looked great with no mess. We received several texts and simultaneous emails updating throughout the process. The communication was as good as it could have been and far better than expected. Hopefully we won't need their services anytime soon, but will gladly reach out if we do as well as recommend to others. read more

Safelite was the supplier set up by my insurance company. A 40 minute drive to their closest installation center, very busy but windshield was installed in about 1 1/2 hours. First time it rained my automatic wipers did not work. Called Safelite and they sent a tech out that worked on it for awhile and then tols me it needed a part that had to be ordered. He said he had replaced the gel pad and that did not fix it. After a two month wait and no call from Safelite, I ordered a replacement geel pad , installedit and the system worked perfectly. Pretty bad when a 75yo man can fix what a thirtyish year old technician can't. Makes me wonder about the quality of their wirk. Never again. read more

I hardly know where to start when writing a review for Safelight in Sarasota, FL. After investing 8 hours and 2 attempts to have my windshield replaced I drove home with the cracked windshield. In addition to their incompetence, they are rude, obnoxious, and show no interest in getting the correct windshield for my car. After failing to install the correct windshield during my 2 visits to the Sarasota shop, the words "I apologize for your inconvenience" was never uttered. It was remarkable that there is a sign in their office that reads "Service so great it is memorable? Well, their service is memorable but not because it was great; rather because their service was non-existent. To add insult to injury, I called the Safelight Customer Service Center and received the same rude, obnoxious "customer service". I asked The Customer Service agent what they can do to help me and was told that since Safelight had not been able to install a windshield (after 2 visits) I was not really a Safelight customer, so they don't plan to assist me in any way. So all the way from the Safelight shop in Sarasota to Safelight corporation's Customer Service office all I found were people who were incompetent, rude, and obnoxious. Really wish there was a zero stars option... Had an appointment to get my windshield fixed (which the crack is now from one end to the other) with Safelite in Sarasota originally on May 2nd. The appointment was made a week before so I had to wait for the windshield to come in. (I was okay with that). Got a call from Robert the day before my appointment that my windshield still wasn't in. While this aggravated me a little I was still okay with it because it was a whole day before and it was explained properly. So the appointment was booked for another week out, on May 9, today. I get a message this morning (the day of my appointment) telling me the glass still hadn't come in. I called back and a man named Jamie answered the phone. Not sure if he continued with the call or got Robert on the phone, I couldn't really tell. But at this point I'm very aggravated because the crack is growing and interfering with my vision as I drive because it's eye level with me. (I'm a short girl) and no matter how much I adjust the seat it's still in my line of vision. Plus I drive an hour to work each way so it's not exactly a safe or comfortable ride. Not to mention every time the sun catches the crack it blinds me. I am 6 months pregnant!! This is dangerous and I've been dealing with it for a month!! So I simply tell the guy who I'm on the phone with that it's a little ridiculous for all the delays and the last minute rescheduling cause of my dilemma and before I could finish he belittles my concerns with "it's perfectly safe to drive with your windshield the way it is. It won't hurt you." Like he's the one driving my car around right?! That didn't sit right with me. So I told him that I understood about the windshield but to not tell me it's not dangerous when he isn't the one driving around that like. He went on to basically give me a bunch of reasons why it wasn't their fault it was the manufacturers; and while this may be true, it's all in how he handled it. I'm more understanding when I'm not being talked to like an idiot or like a child. To top it off he hung up on me! Called back and he just answered and hung up. Did this a couple of times before he answered because I was trying to get in touch with his manager. No way was I dealing with this guy anymore. He answered and claimed to be the manager!! I don't know if this is true but he shouldn't be if he is. I don't even know how he would've gotten a position like this with his customer service skills or lack thereof I should say. Anyways he said he was trying to find my windshield and we could either keep talking or he could find my windshield but either way he didn't care. He truly acted as if he was doing me a favor to do his job. I basically told him to do what he had to do and cancel it if he wanted. The bottom line is that this should've been handled better than it was. You can't call someone the day of their appointment after they have waited 2 weeks (and the appointment rescheduled twice now) to tell them it's not in and then get an attitude with them for being upset. To be honest, even though this is covered by insurance, I pay that premium and there's no way I'm giving any business to this place nor do I recommend anyone go here. I worked in customer service for 4 years and if I was manager this guy wouldn't be working there anymore. Fired!!! Safelite needs to get better people working their shops or they're going to lose business!! This isn't the new normal and customers shouldn't have to feel this stressed out over employees of businesses thinking they can talk to people however they want. Rob was amazing. Knowledgeable and courteous. I made an appointment online with ease for 11:30am to go to the sarasota location. I was out of there by 11:55. I had a small chip in the windshield from a rock on the interstate. You can still see where the chip is but its smaller and won't spread. Rob explained they can repair it but I would still see it. I paid out of pocket which was much less than going through my insurance company. read more

I had my car windshield repaired at the Sarasota Shop. They were courteous and did a good job. That said, I have two major concerns with this company. 1). They use Chinese windshields for replacement. I thought they would use manufacturer replacement parts. I've had serious problems in the past with Chinese auto parts. They're garbage. Time will tell regarding my replaced windshield. 2). Their TV and radio advertising is misleading. They imply that when you call them, they immediately come out to repair your windshield. Not so!!! If I preferred to have them respond to my location, it will take two weeks. Even going to their shop I had to wait four days. In my opinion, this is false advertising. read more
