The new At Home is open!!! Had to popped in for a quick trip. This place is huge. They have a large variety of item. You could spend half a day walking all the aisles and shopping all the goodies. I bought some rocks for terrariums but was looking for more dome glass ware. The ones I found were nice but not what I was looking for on this trip. I told some friend the new location was open and we went back that evening. I grabbed a few more items for the house. All of the items were pretty good prices. Customer service was great at check out but I never really saw any employees while shopping. So glad to have this location now open. I will def be back. This is probably the worst retail store in all of Charlotte. Since its the closest AtHome store to me I do go here from time to time and I constantly have issues. Here are just a few of the many issues I've had over the past year or so 1) I came into the store for a refund and instead of refunding my order, the cashier charged me for the item I was refunding. Thus, instead of receiving a refund, I was charged TWICE for an item that was returned to the store. I had to make another trip to AtHome where fortunately the manager was able to rectify the issue. 2) I was ONE day past the return timeframe and the cashier refused to make an exception of any kind for me. When I asked to speak to the store manager, the cashier lied and simply told me she was the store manager and that all she could do was offer store credit. I know she was lying because I have spoken to the store manager in the past and it was certainly not this individual. I was not in the mood to go through additional hassle, so I simply accepted the store credit and moved on with my life 3) I brought a series of items to the register and one of the items didn't have a tag so the cashier said I simply couldn't purchase the item. I told her to find the same SKU, either online or in-store, and ring up the item that way so she could charge me the appropriate price. She said she had no clue how to do that and that I would have to go find a duplicate item and come back to the register after doing so. Given that I had already spent 45 mins in the store, the line for checkout was 30 mins long, and I didn't remember where I found the item, I told the cashier I wasn't going to do that. She didn't care and simply asked if I wanted the remaining items at which point I simply left. These are just a few of the many terrible experiences I've had at this AtHome store. The customer service here is pathetically terrible and it's obvious that the employees don't care the slightest bit about helping customers. Most of the employees don't last more than a few weeks/months as the turnover is never-ending. I hate going to this store and always have the worst experiences. read more

With a new home, and the somewhat "new" At Home closer to my house I was looking forward to spending some money here. Just like the other locations it is a store you walk into knowing you will be there for hours, unless you are looking for something specific. As we walked through I was impressed with variety of items and the layout of the store, but I was very surprised that we did not see one employee to assist with questions, or help when we wanted to pull something off a shelf which surprised me. After hunting someone down we were able to get help. Overall, I do think this location is better than the Pineville location, and can be your go to spot for home options, but hope management thinks about the customer experience and more employees are placed around the store to assist with customers. read more

I was impressed by this store! It's got a ton of variety in all things home, garden, furniture, and everything in between. I went with my daughter in search of inexpensive prints for our kids' bedroom decoration and a shelf/nightstand. We found both and everyone was pleased. Tons of impulse buys at checkout, including a good selection of candy. My one concern is that I only saw employees at checkout. Very difficult to experience customer service when there's no...service. Bathrooms are inside to the back right of the store, and they were clean at the time of my visit. Entrance is also confusing. There appear to be two entrances, but you're better off going in to the right rather than the cart corral area. read more

I visited the new At Home store yesterday and cannot believe the way I was treated. I have visited this store before however and never experienced anything like this. When I got to the cash register to check out I had intentions of using a gift card and 15% off coupon that I also had. When I told the cashier this he said I could not use 2 discounts at once (even though I'm not sure why a gift card would be considered a "discount") but to that I asked if I could just use the gift card instead of the coupon. He then scanned my gift card off of my phone and it wouldn't go through, he insisted that I needed to print off the gift card at home and come back even though the screen clearly said "let your salesperson scan it from your mobile device" under redeem instructions. He started to get very irritated and tell me that the gift card could not be used for my purchase. That sounded so ridiculous to me, I can't use a gift card that I have for At Home at At Home?! The Gift Card I kept showing him on my phone also listed "Cashier Instructions" which I pointed out in an attempt to help and he refused to acknowledge he just kept scanning. He then left to go get a manager to help out. A few minutes later I hear him behind the aisle where the cash registers are located talking to a fellow employee how this "little girl" is trying to use a gift card that can't be used and he "knows what he's doing" and that I "won't leave until talking to a manager". I proceeded to wait there for 20 more minutes until another cashier came over who was not the original one I had to see what the issue was. I told her I was trying to use a gift card for my purchase and she re-scanned my whole order, then tried scanning the gift card. She also could not get it to work, and at this point a few other employees come over. They are all laughing and trying to get this gift card to work, they even mention how the store has been opened for 3 weeks and they were never trained on "gift cards". This was all so very unprofessional to me and they were not being polite to me at all or apologizing for the time this was taking. Finally a manager does come over, I hand him the gift card on my phone and he follows the "Cashier Instructions" listed and the gift card goes through. I can't believe I was waiting at the At Home cash register for 30 minutes to simply use a gift card. Have they never been encountered with this before? So ridiculous. My original cashier never returned. I told the manager before leaving about the way I was treated, he apologized but did not really seem to care. I will not be returning to this location and will be hesitant to shop at At Home ever again. The store/merchandise is great but the Customer Service was probably the most unprofessional and horrific thing I've ever experienced while shopping which led me to writing this review. Safe to say I did not feel "At Home" at all. I hope they do better with the next customer who has a gift card. read more

I love At Home...in other locations. This place needs to get their staff trained. They've been open since March and it is now June and the staff doesn't understand how Insider Perks work and provide misinformation. The managers are RUDE. Period. Rather than resolve the issue I experienced, he chose to give me a discount that was less than coupon I had. I also went for a curbside order because my daughter could not go in the store. I texted (469) 404-0786 with my last name, order number and make/model of my car and waited for 20 min and called multiple times to see what the hold up was. WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! My initial unsatisfactory customer service was with the cashier who was unbothered about my transaction which was done incorrectly. I ask for a correction and did not receive a customer friendly solution. I then asked for a manager and was brushed to the side with no manager contact. After looking for another associate to assist, the manager (KB) came and continued the aloof, condescending behavior of his employee. I ascertained the "culture" of this location is not focused on customer service or applicable solutions for errors made by employees. If you want to be disrespected or ignored, the Metropolitan At Home store is the perfect place. I plan to contact corporate and return EVERY purchase! A middle aged guy who is an employee gave us a stink eye which I assumed because he thought we dint pay for the dog bed which we got , so I told him " we paid for it ". Harold Harris is the most ignorant manager I have ever met in my life! Not only is he unprofessional but loud talking, he literally gave me a fu*king headache. He acted like he didn't know how to exchange without a receipt! They tried 3 times until they figured it out! Kept me in the store for an extra 30 minutes! I wouldn't recommend this place to no one!! It's an impersonal warehouse feel. I felt anything but "At Home".

I would like to start of by saying that the manager Caleb is very professional and knowledgeable. Now the cashier Shantel not the case at all. I purchased the wrong size curtains and used 15% off coupon. I approached Shantel and stated that I wanted to do an exchange she sighed and said I can only do a return. I said okay attempted to hand her my receipt and she acted like it had the plague mind you I was just in the store one hour prior to for the original purchase. So the receipt was folded in half and clear. The refund was processed and as I was walking back to get the correct curtains, I looked at new receipt and turned around and said I used a 15% off coupon. She yells you didn't tell me you used a coupon. I paused and said I gave you my receipt and it shows there, besides you should have also seen that on the screen. She says well you lost it. I asked to speak with a manager. She sighs again and tell me gone over there a some will be with you. I said you don't have to be rude. She said again gone over there. I said you don't have to be rude and she replies you rude now gone over there. I didn't move. Like I said Caleb was very professional I shared with him what happened and he apologized for the experience and shared with me the store policy on exchanges and coupons.
