A much more pleasant experience for me during my visit to At Home. I was able to find all of the Christmas decorations I needed aside from garland. However, there are Sale signs everywhere and somehow none of the discounts applied to anything I picked up. The cashiers couldn't tell me why when I questioned it either. Oh well. I actually got help from the woman I wrote a review about previously - she handled my transaction with such care, attention and friendliness. A place to find things that you don't need. I came here looking for a hammock swing, this store has practically everything you can think of. It also has Christmas decorations on display. I believe everything is on the floor all year long- no seasonal displays. I also look at the pillow sections, it has all the colors and sizes imaginable. I will definitely come back for the pillows and a lot of other stuff. It's great that they have a lot of stuff, it's overwhelming. I advice that you have a plan before coming to shop here. There's 2 cashiers when I was there, and it was not crowded at all. The wait is not that long. The workers seemed to try to keep the place organized and need, even marked with appropriate prices. The clearance stuff seemed to be mixed with regular prices items like in the pillow aisle and comforter/ bedding aisle. read more

This is the best home goods store ever (other than Ikea of course)! There are not any At Home stores located where I live so whenever I'm traveling and see a sign for At Home, I immediately pull into the parking lot and browse. It's just such a fun store to explore! At Home is basically a giant warehouse, like a big Wal-Mart but completely filled with home goods. They have gorgeous furniture. I love to daydream of fully furnishing my home with their awesome couches and chairs one day. On this visit, all of their living room chairs were 30%off! That meant that their lovely teal suede chairs and brown leather chairs were just barely over $100. Everything is great prices anyhow and the great sales really make everything affordable. I could spend my entire day in here easily. I might have to leave for a coffee break, haha, but I could get lost in here. They have everything for a home ranging from couches and chairs, as mentioned above, rugs, wall decor, patio furniture, dishes, lamps, bedding and so much more. The staff here is friendly and willing to help (if you can find them). They also have a fun selection of small items that I call the cheap gift section, haha. This area is near check out and you can find fun things like coasters, candles, keychains, journals, bath bombs and more. It's similar to the check out area in a TJMaxx or similar store. Immediately asked me for my personal information to sign up for their rewards program. You cannot just attempt and sign a customer up for something without telling them what it is. This is HIGHLY ILLEGAL. Talked to a cashier about this and they said their store director and corporate has been telling them to do this Otherwise, they would be threatened with being fired. This was my third trip to At Home where I had to purchase the display. I did have one associate who was annoyed at my request but the last two trips have been good experiences. They happily tore down a fountain on display and rebooted it for me. I like the service overall and they have endless selection in organized displays. read more

Garden Ridge is a great addition to the Florence area, especially with the disappearance of Old Time Pottery. A true hodge podge of merchandise, I can usually find whatever I'm looking for in terms of outdoor fun and even some inside decor. The staff is friendly and it's a huge store with a wide variety of goodies. Pricing is AWESOME! read more

This is a fun place to shop, especially for seasonal decor items. I don't think any local store can outdo them re seasonal decor. As to their general product base, they have some different and unusual pieces but it requires some time and effort to find them. I recently started looking on their website for stuff, then if I liked something, it told me where in the store the item was so I didn't wander around all day. That was helpful. I don't know that I've ever had a person come up to me asking if I needed help or such so customer service on the floor is missing a bit. They have a large selection of items and they tend to color code so if you're looking for blue, its all together, which again saves time and is helpful. read more

I really don't think people realize what this place is, because it still seems like a well kept secret! Even on weekends they never seem very busy! If you are looking for anything for your home, this is the place! From outdoors, to seasonal decor, to every room they've got a HUGE selection. Be careful, most of their prices are cheaper and better deals than anywhere else, but once in a while no. Each time we go in the store seems to be understaffed and the aisles are always a mess. I get that it is a retail store, it'll be slightly messy but the store is so sloppy that you have to wonder if they are in fact understaffed and not able to upkeep? It turns customers off. Each time we go in, there is only one cashier and a line and carts all over the aisles with merchandise on them to where you can't even walk through an aisle. Garden Ridge is a hodgepodge of home goods, lawn chairs/ornaments, furniture, chairs, pillows, etc. Prices are hit and miss, as you can find a reasonably priced chair and then turn the aisle and find an overpriced baking pan. Just like anything else, keep an open mind and be realistic about prices and what the quality is. I love the selection of kitchen items and lawn furniture, as the variety is great. The store is also huge, as it is inside the old Bigg's in Florence off Houston. The only downside is that usually 1 register is open for checkout, so your wait to finish the shopping experience can be a bit long at times, but outside of this I really love the store. read more

I made a recent trip to Garden Ridge, located in the old Bigg's building on the north side of Florence and I must say, there is something uplifting about going into a store on a chilly winter day and strolling though isles of garden products. The isle upon isle of flower pots and outdoor furniture serve as a reminder of better, warmer weather to come. The mid-January Saturday I was there, there was still Christmas product on the shelves, but at final sale prices of 90% off. After looking at other stores and being hesitant to pay $15 - $20 or more for throw pillows, I walked out with 4 throw pillows for a total of $12 that day. I have my eye on a plant stand and possibly some wall art for future trips. I was first in the store shortly after it opened and it seemed to be a higher scale Old Time Pottery, although Garden Ridge has a larger selection of furniture than OTP had, but not the stock of glasses and dishes. My suggestion is to know what you are looking for and at approximately what price, you will find some great bargains here, but not on every item. Go, check it out, find yourself a bargain. read more

Bought Christmas lights - when I plugged in only half worked. Took bag for an even exchange - didn't have a receipt. They said NO - they were garden ridge brand and I used a cc to pay. They were of no help and turned me away. TERRIBLE customer service! Went next door to Lowes and same set of lights was $1.99 not 9.99. Left my cart full and left Garden Ridge! Everyone knows how difficult it is to buy a mattress without the ability to try it out. My daughter found one she thought would serve the purpose and took it to the cashier. She was reluctant to buy it but the cashier assured her that if she didn't remove the protective plastic cover, she could return the mattress up to 30 days. One nights lack of sleep and we headed back to return the mattress and were treated like we were liars. They told us they NEVER do returns on mattresses. After 3 letters to their corporate office without one response, we have a mattress sitting in the garage and they have lost this family as customers. read more

The prices are MUCH cheaper than Pier 1, Home Goods of TJ Maxx in the area. I went in for wall art. Ended up getting 2 pieces, and brackets. I came back less than a week later and bought a dining room table and chairs. The dining room chairs are priced equally to overstock.com or amazon -- except you get to sit on them and take them home with you right away. If you sign up for their e-mails they have a 10% off coupon they will send you. I'm told it will regenerate once used but I haven't seen another one come into my inbox yet. I'll definitely be back for patio furniture. Also, it looks as if they are in the process of expanding. read more

Worst customer service I have come across in a long time. I bought my mother a bed-in-a-bag set. She liked it so much that she bought one for herself for her spare bedroom. After one wash and one night on the bed, the sheet was shredded. I took the set back to the store for an exchange, they would not take it back because it was not resellable. After asking if they would resell it after it being on someone's bed, and shredded to pieces, the manager then said that it was not in the proper bag. I put the one that mother wanted to exchange in the bag of the set that I had bought her. We no longer had the bag for the one that she bought. So beware shoppers, they will sell you something that is used or already broken in hopes that you throw away the original packaging, so therefore they don't have to exchange it or give you your money back. This is a scam, and no better than the common thief. read more
