Dont bother, they sell You furniture, get You to open a line of credit, get You to make payments before they bring the furniture, then tell you it will be another delay of over four months, expecting you to keep making payments.....I had to cancel the furniture, then they lied several times saying they processed my refund, etc. When they didn't, they don't have a manager, they don't call you back, etc. Look elsewhere, these people are total liars, Im still waiting for them to refund my payments and zero out the line of credit .....​ read more

The Florence store was extremely helpful and they had some very good quality items. The reason I put a maybe in this is the delivery team. Value City states that they use a 3rd party delivery and our delivery was cancelled without a call from the driver. The reason was an out right lie. They stated that the drive was too narrow with no place to turn around. Sadly this was a lie as a box truck had earlier that day been up my driveway by mistake, turned around and delivered to my neighbor. I also had a large water truck fill up my pool the week prior and a dumpster delivered to throw away the old sectional. All of these without getting stuck. Now Value City is refusing to deliver at all, because I told them all of this. Clearly their driver lied and got caught. I hate that this is the case as the Florence store was so helpful. read more

Horrible experience with value city. We bought a couch, 2 bed frames (queen and king), a dresser, a chest, and 2 nightstands along with a warranty from Value City over the past year. We had planned to have the furniture delivered to our new apartment. I was there waiting at the apartment, the delivery people came and never contacted me that they were there, said they were confused on where to go so they left and refused to deliver our furniture. When calling Value city I was yelled at by a representative who said this was "our fault". My fiance then had to leave work, rent a U-Haul, and drive an hour away to pick up our furniture and bring it to our apartment. We were promised that our warranty would cover cleanings whenever we needed them for our white couch. Everytime we requested a clean, they refused to clean it twice stating it was an "accumulation of stains" when it very clearly was not. We filed a warranty claim because our footboard broke on our bed, we never got an email back. All of our bed rails (for both beds) bent, then our bed panels bowed out and broke. Called 3 separate times to try and get this fixed and they said we had to come in store and get them replaced and they wouldn't order the parts for us over the phone. (Keep in mind we have only had this bed for 2 months when this broke). Delivery people for our nightstands (which were bought and delivered later in the year) broke the corner of our nightstand drawer, said they would fix it, and never did. Every time we call to ask for these fixes, we never get a solution and are pushed to the side or we never hear back from the company when they say they'll call us back. We've spent thousands of dollars in this store and almost every piece of furniture has broken without any cause. read more

Still a great company to buy your furniture. We cannot knock the value and quality that VCF has offered to us over the years. They do not have trAshley particle board cheapness. This time we bought a new mattress and bed frame. The salesperson Chad was truly professional and did not pressure us. The problem( why is there always problems with these items?) , came with delivery and set-up. However, during the week long time it took to correct the mistakes of a third party contractor, VCF employees like Ian and Crystal always offered solutions. We appreciate that as much as the furniture's quality. Because of the efforts of the VCF crew, we will once again use them in the future though not for the silver, backlit, rhinestone encrusted bed room set which violates our rules on household taste. I think many of us try to avoid these stores but it has to be done. The vultures (salespeople) descended upon us. Ours was friendly enough but when I said I just wanted to look he still followed to closely. In the end I ordered over 2k and had more to order BUT after taking hours of my time processing stuff they forgot to get my daughter the take away print... I heard him call it that.. when we were leaving I mentioned it but was too big of a hassle to get it. I was in the area a few days later and went to grab the print. I avoided the salespeople and went to get the print. It wouldn't come off quickly so I asked a group or 4-6 employees to help and they said I have to get a salesperson. The print was 20 feet from them at the back of the store. I left and canceled my order. I then placed an order online. I never got email confirmation so I called the store just now and the woman couldn't find the order. Once I found it she was able to find it as well (sorry to take you from your break).. anyway, after little help I explained everything to her and she said she was sorry and then I told her I would probably cancel the online order as it's just not worth it and ikea has assembly people. The woman had a chance to win me and my 5k or so ((whole condo needs furniture) but she said she was sorry and if I needed more help then she would have to transfer me.... I still am not confident this order will arrive. I will wait and see.... HATE THEM but my daughter wants the damn bed! Argh STAY AWAY!!!!!!! Worst customer service experience I've ever encountered. Our couch delivery has been delayed four separate times now. The last two I have had to call myself to inquire on the status. They had given no notice of the delay. Zero integrity as a business to continue stringing people along like this. I came into the store twice in one day to make a couch purchase. Both times I was in the store was not approached by any salesperson. If anyone in the store actually cares or reviews these. I was in a red hat and red shirt and came in around 1:00 p.m. and then 3:00 p.m. on 03/04/22. this is my first ever review, But having worked in retail/sales for years myself I found this experience inexcusable. Purchased a bedroom set. The sales lady, Susie Dodd was very nice and very helpful. She didn't hover or shadow us as we browsed. The two delivery guys, Jeremy Hensley & Mike Halloway were great!! They were very respectful of my home. They were very diligent and focused; even as I was standing there chatting with them, they continued working until the job was done. They even helped me put the mattress and box spring back on the bed, which was a HUGE help! read more

Purchased a chair in their clearance cenyer and it fell apart the same night while sitting on it (back of chair came loose from the seat). Bad enough, but the next day (after my husband sort of put it back together), the leg came off. After inspection, it was obvious that the chair had issues and someone had tried to fix it. The entire screw casing that holds the leg on came off and there were obvious staples around this area where someone had tried to "fix" it previously. Won't be back. read more

Well where do I start we went in to look at furniture for our new home went in we had an amazing sales lady helping us she was amazing The company it self that's another story we ordered a bedroom set 5pc we ordered a living room sectional and Coffey table office desk and book shelf everything was promised to be delivered a certain time a day literally everything so we get our bedroom set only to find out the mattress didn't come okay then the promises that it would come two weeks later as I have my mom take off of work to wait for this it never came and they never called to tell us that it wasn't coming so I call they fix it and upgrade the one we did buy thanks but then to find out part of the sectional was here but the other half was not was told it won't be available until September we ordered all this at one time but have gotten different delivery dates for everything this is by far the worst experience as a customer I will never shop here again it has been an inconvenience after inconvenience we use to shop her often but after this never again who knew it would take 5 months to get our things things kept changing so we just canceled our order back to looking for furniture all over again read more

I ordered a couch, it took 3 months to be delivered. The couch is poorly made, with only 1x2's for the base frame. The couch broke within 12 hours of delivery. I returned the couch, but was charged for a delivery fee of $140. They did not return the item in their system, so the Synchrony credit card company charged me late fees. Then Value City stated I would also have to pay state taxes as well. So I ended up paying $150 for a couch that I returned. Do not buy from them! Do not go to Value City! read more

My gripe is actually not with value city as i knew the quality of furniture when i bought it. My problem is with the warranty that they talked me into and i needed but the repair i was asking for was denied by the fact there was wear and tear on other parts of the furniture! Recently purchased a couch from this store and found the salesman nice and not that clingy. Some furniture stores have people that cling to you worse than a stick of gum to your shoe, but that was not the case. I appreciated that. The pickup options are nice and they can even move the item to a closer Value City location. Some negatives include: depending on the time, the sun will darn near blind you as it shines through the front of the store. Get some blinds please! Another ding is the lack of fabric options on much of the furniture. It's pretty much WYSIWYG. But the prices are low and for infrequently used furniture items, this place can't be beat. read more

I was looking to purchase bedroom furniture for a house we just bought. I wanted a medium grade furniture and saw a sales ad with value city furniture and decided to go check it out. I paid cash for my transaction and thought the sales person was excellent. his name is Ken. so, my home is only 2 years old and here is where the story changes, DRASTICALLY. the delivery people were a bit much. I knew it was going to be bad when I saw one of the delivery people carry my headboard, by himself, into my home and dropped it on my hard wood flooring. I went in and noticed he put 2 dents into my bedroom wall. the other delivery person saw me and asked wow, did he do that and I responded yes. we did nt like the positioning of the bed so asked if they could relocate it before they went any further. they did, but in doing so they put another dent into the wall and tore the paint off the wall. no explanations or apologies. then the gentleman who caused the damage, was putting the other bed together in another room and because he kept slamming the boxed bed frames on my hard wood flooring he eventually broke my bullnose and did nt even put the bed correctly together. he admitted that he would come back and fix the bullnose himself. now, this is a contracted company value city goes through. I waited for the warehouse supervisor to contact me or my husband and yes, you guessed it he never did. I contacted value city in Florence, ky where I purchased the furniture and talked to the manager Paul. he was very understanding about the damages and referred me to the warehouse supervisor. I talked to D.J. and as a general manager of his department, very unprofessional. no apologies just stated he would contact the insurance department and they would contact me. I gave them 4 days and decided to contact them myself and yes, they stated they had the original complaint from the store and asked me to stay on hold and they contacted the warehouse. at that time, the customer service rep told me they were waiting on photo's from my house. I was even more furious because no contact was even made to rectify this situation. so I did receive a number from the insurance people and I sent the photo's of my home. they in turn forwarded them to contactor name Juan. he was supposed to get back with me within 24-48 hours and yes you guessed it, I had to re-contact them 1 week later to find out the status of my claim. so, of course now I'm waiting for Juan to contact me. I should have known better to lower my standards to purchase furniture from value city. I had heard their standards have changed but because of getting horrible customer service EXCEPT from our salesperson, you can't teach an old dog new tricks. same old value city. My husband and I purchased furniture from the Florence KY store on several occassions and each time our sales person was Ken. He was able to provide detailed information on several selections as we were going through the decision process yet did not hover while we were looking around. He offered the extended warranty which we declined as the furniture we bought was not high-end nor would it get a lot of use. The only issue I have is waiting 4 weeks (so far) for delivery. We were originally given a two week window however, shortly before the scheduled delivery date we were told we had to wait an additional two weeks. Maybe it was such a great sale that they sold out quickly or maybe the manufacturer was behind. Either way, I would liked to have had it delivered on the day we agreed upon or at least offered a rebate or discounted delivery for the inconvenience...neither of which have happened to date. I give our sales guy Ken a 5 star rating I give the store as a whole...3 read more

My husband and I were so impressed and satisfied with our service from Sarah Funke at this Value City in Florence. She was friendly, knowledgable, understanding, patient, and overall SO helpful! We spent at least 3 hours in the store going over options and making a decision on our first couch purchase ever. We've always had hand-me-down furniture so with this being the first time we were buying a couch, we knew very little about what we were looking for. Sarah explained material differences and care required, and she did SUCH a fantastic job of listening to our ideas on what we were looking for and then showing us examples of what might work for us. We had stopped in a couple of other furniture stores before Value City, and none of the sales people at those places were anywhere near as helpful. She was wonderful about stepping back when my husband and I were discussing what may or may not work, and then taking everything she'd heard into consideration to show another option or give her recommendation. And when she'd leave us alone to go over things on our own, she always seemed to come back just at the right time to answer more questions, etc. Again, we really were so impressed with her sales style/technique. We loved the layout of the store in general, too. Unlike some of the other furniture places, the flow makes sense and it's not a huge haul to get to the bathroom, etc. They also had freshly popped popcorn and cold bottles of water for free. We will definitely be back to Value City and hopefully we'll work with Sarah again on our next purchase! We can't recommend her enough :) read more

We picked out a new sectional last week and were told it would be available the following week. We called to confirm it was there (we weren't given an exact pick up time) just to be told the manufacture was out of it and they didn't know when it would be in stock. In fact, the manufacture was out of it when we ordered it, which they neglected to tell us. The manager was incredibly rude and said "well we make no guarantees" after I asked how they could take our money for a product they knew they didn't have. We got rid of our old furniture to make room for the new furniture just to be hung out to dry. Thank God for Jennifer at Acceptance Now. She was professional and went above and beyond to make sure our furniture will be delivered by Friday. She got the GM (above the other manager), who was also very helpful, and they worked together to get a GUARANTEED pickup date. If it weren't for her help, I would have ended up going somewhere else. read more

I have purchased 2 sectional sofas from Value City and will never purchase another! The frames have broken, the fabric has torn at the seams, the cushions are broken down. The fabric warranty we purchased will not cover the fabric issues and the frame (broken under normal use) is now out of warranty as well. Customer service has no interest in addressing these issues. If you want a couch to last a year maybe 2 Value City is the furniture store for you. If you want it to last longer than a year or two search elsewhere. I had a poor experience buying a couch at value city here in Florence and I feel I've been ripped off and still am in the process of it. Me and girlfriend are new parents and just got our first place together. We needed furniture so we chose value city. We didn't have a lot of money and saw a 3 month same as cash promotion and we went with it. I had got a $1000 couch put 500 down on it and made 2 payments of $170 and just needed to make 1 more Doable right? Wrong! The promotion ended and I was forced into a 21 month rent to own contract bumping my payments up even higher than before and it is 16 months later and I'm still paying on this couch I am about 2500 in to this couch that was only 1000 to start. I had a nice worker from acceptance now offer me a last payment his name was Andrew and that was supposed to be the end of it. Well a month later I get a call saying I owe another payment! And Andrew is no longer there but has been promoted to district manager. No one on site has offered me any sort of solution. I recently purchased a sectional from the Value City in Florence, KY. I was very pleased with the salesman and the price of the sectional. It's the process of actually getting the couch I did not find up to par. I opted out of having my couch delivered, instead I picked it up myself. After we had picked it up from the store and had brought it all the way back home we came to realize that they had given us two totally different colored pieces to the sectional. I called up to the customer service department and let them know the situation. The extremely "rude" customer service rep told us that I was more than welcome to load the 150lb couch back onto our truck and bring it back to the warehouse to swap it out for the correct piece. So because they made a mistake in giving me the wrong piece I now have to "fix" what they have caused. So after a lousy $50 credit...(to a store I will never do business with again) and my whole off day spent fixing their mistake, I am now stuck with a sectional that does not match until they can come deliver the piece in a week. Word to the wise DO NOT EVER EVER EVER leave their warehouse dock without asking them to make sure you have the right furniture because once you leave your on your own, they are of no help. And watch out for the "heavy-set customer service rep who just loves to roll her eyes at every word you say". I have never been more unsatisfied with a major purchase like this.
