By now, you may have noticed, I am Halloween obsessed. I love decorating for Halloween and the decorations sell out rather quickly. So, I was in the shopping center and decided to stop by At Home and browse all things Halloween! There were so many Halloween decorations, I thought I was in Halloween heaven. There were blow up Halloween decorations. Some were interactive, they talked and moved when you walked by. I loved the banjo playing skeleton. But, he was $70. So, I am going to wait and see if he goes down in price anytime soon. There were a lot of cute plug in Halloween decorations. I really liked the plug in pumpkin decoration. He was so cute. There were some really scary decorations like the 3 headed dog. The prices were on the higher side. But, it is a little early to be shopping for Halloween. There was a singing and dancing witch that was adorable. They do need to hire some staff. There was not anyone on the sales floor and only one poor girl at the registers. A lot of home decor to look through here. I came during November, so Christmas and holiday themed items were a plenty. I loved looking through all the options for ornaments, garland, etc. After checking out, we got a nice gift of 50 ornaments that helped greatly in rounding out our tree this year. read more

This place is like a candy store for home decor! They have everything for the home you can possibly imagine and even some oddities. I was impressed and overwhelmed by just how many choices they have of everything, but seriously the selection is vast! They have decor, furniture, paintings, candles, sculptures, snacks, you name it they've got it! The staff here was also great and the space is very neat and kept up well. My girlfriend absolutely loves this place and we plan to come here when we move to decorate our place to turn it from just a house to a home. They have great prices and value as typically stuff here costs less than other places for the same items. This place is described as Ikea and Homegoods stepchild. This store is what replaced Kmart. Aesthetic wise, it looks depressing. You can't tell this was opened less than a year. The store is disorganized and messy. Barely any associates working. The ones you see looked miserable. Is it that bad? Forget about hospitality or good customer service you wont find it here. Prices? Ha, its expensive and the stuff is not cute. Everything thing here is marked up. Quality of items are horrible. I love collecting wall art and usually I find nice ones at TJ Maxs or Home Goods for less. One sole cashier. They should have self check out. 8 plus customers waiting on a Saturday night not cool. So the furniture is cheaply made and the demos are always wobbly. However they aren't priced to sell. I always see the local realtors browsing for staging furniture and wall art. The wall art isn't bad and can be had at a good price during seasonal sales. The selection is iffy and the Frederick store seems to have all the good art during the sales. I got a nice taco kitchen mat for 6 bucks and put it in a guest bathroom. You stand on a mat that tells you to "keep it together".... This place sells those kind of gems. read more

As other Yelpers have said: it's very disorganized and messy inside. They attempt to display some items but it's not very presentable.. everything is mostly in shelves and one thing I found very annoying was that their clearance was at checkout? Very strange place to put clearance items. And I'm a bargain shopper so you know I had my eyes PEELED for where the heck that clearance section was, lol. HOWEVER, I had a lot of fun walking around and browsing. I ended up buying a large fluffy pink body pillow for $20 which wasn't bad, AND two nice outdoor patio-type chairs for $20 each. It kind of reminded me of Big Lots, but with a focus on just outdoor/indoor furniture and random stuff like pillows, bathroom items, etc. I have to be honest, I could spend HOURS in that store browsing for fun because the place is HUGE!! Still, if they got a little more organized with things and maybe had more than one cashier running the place, it might be more successful at attracting multi-visit customers. read more

Ya know... I hear you (Other Yelpers in other reviews). Some of the prices were quite outrageous. I found this miniature ottoman stool thing, and it had the same exact fabric on it as this chair I purchased on Etsy... but it was 80 dollars. This thing was clearly worth about 35-40 dollars max. It was just an outrageous price for it. But trust me in this. There are some deals in this store. They are not as few as one might think, but maybe as far between seeing the largess of the store. I got a really nice wooden cheese plate thing for like 8 bucks. I also got a couple of bird christmas tree ornament things for 3 dollars. The 20 foot enormous 2 store Santa Blow up thing was only 180 ( which I just think that's just a very reasonable price for letting airline pilots who fly over that you celebrate christmas). I need a bit more time and focus to make it through this B. I was with two friends and we were all over the place. I guess people should really stop describing it as "Home Goods on Steroids." That's not what I would describe it as. I would describe it as Walmart West Elm. read more

It is a large store and a bit overwhelming. The store is clean and organized. There is a directory as soon as you walk in and outlines each section of the store for you - rugs, mirrors, organization, laundry, furniture, kitchen - to name a few. However, I left the store feeling a little disappointed. Others said this store was a HomeGoods on steroids but when I go to HomeGoods they literally have everything you need for your home. I walked into At Home because I needed supplies for my new home. Shower curtains and over the shower caddies were no where to be found :-(. I did walk away with reasonable priced floor lamp (decent selection and lower prices than Amazon) and indoor front door mats. read more

If you love HomeGoods, you'll love this place. Settled where the old K-Mart used to be, you can call this place a HomeGoods on steroids or a classy IKEA. Everything is neatly lined on shelves with a ton of selections. I found the pricing to be lower than HomeGoods (but not everything), with everything from decorations to furniture, you name it, they had it. There def isn't anything in this neighborhood like this, so it's super exciting. I foresee lots of shopping trips here! read more

Just not loving it. This warehouse style store has a beautiful layout. But alas, it's not a real warehouse with closeout prices and deals. And the decor is very cheaply made. I purchased a plant stand a month ago and decided I wanted another. Traveled to store in Frederick and noticed there weren't any of the same. I asked and was told that " No, they can't assist me to search for it" and " no, there is no way to order items online or from store, period". So what you see is what you get- for an inflated price. I drove all the way to Gaithersburg under advice from cashier and saw only a larger stand which was broken on the shelf. Waahh!!! Many flimsy items there are chipped or broken. But no clearance or reduction. I like a little more quality, so I'll stick to Homegoods. read more

The line stretches on forever and 2 cashiers is simply not enough for a warehouse that size. I was trying to cash out during a not very busy time. I had one item. The cashier finally was available so I greeted her warmly. She said 'no, no, no', shook her head, did not even Look at me and shut down the register. Ummm... what? Maybe it's just me, but I really don't get the appeal. For the most part, they have furniture that appeals to most styles and tastes - traditional, bohemian, modern, etc. In terms of pricing, their furniture and home accessories are affordable; on par with Ikea, Target and World Market. The store layout is easily navigable. Although, you might need an employee to point you in the right direction (when you can find them!) They carry most items that you would need for your home - coffee tables, office chairs, pillows, trash bins, doormats, the whole shebang! This store is okay across the board. For whatever reason, they still somehow fall short for me. Unlike Ikea, they don't set the stage for their furniture. For the most part, everything sits on long warehouse shelves Costco-style. While some people don't love Ikea's long meandering store layout, I can't help but find their showrooms helpful when I need to spark some home inspiration. From my experience, it's kind of hard to envision some of At Home's furniture or products in my own home. Everything to me sort of loses its personality in there. And without the draw of World Market's international food and wine section or Target's everything, I never really think of going to At Home until it's way too late. Overall, I think you can find better deals for assorted home goods at TJ Maxx, Marshalls, and HomeGoods. However, At Home will undoubtedly have shorter lines and much easier to navigate shelves, which is perfect if you feel anxious in those discount stores. Also, parking is a breeze and finding someplace to eat after shopping won't be a problem. Most importantly, definitely peruse the website before going to At Home so you can get an idea of what their aesthetic, selection and pricing is like. And if you find that nothing really captures your attention, there's always the aforementioned stores along with second hand shops like Goodwill, Salvation Army, and Habitat for Humanity's ReStore. read more

I'll cut them some slack since they did open just a few weeks ago -I feel like you need an idea/plan of what you are needing or looking for. I haven't been At Home since they first opened. I'm not sure if it's just me but have the prices gone up in their items? I thought they were pretty reasonable at first but last night's visit was a different story. I was browsing through the aisles and noticed that some of the blankets were $70+ a piece. I wouldn't compare the prices to IKEA or HomeGoods. Although you may find a few things that are reasonable, most of their items are way overpriced. At Home is located at The Kentlands and plenty of parking space which saves you a headache. The store was very organized with all of the items sectioned out and neatly tucked in the shelves but it's just not my cup of tea. I've found better deals at HomeGoods, TJ Maxx, and IKEA so I think I'll stick with the following stores. read more

I have shopped at this store several times. While I always found it a bit frustrating that there are no employees on the floor that can help a customer find items or respond to questions, I didn't let that stop me from shopping there. However, when you have a store that size, you should have a way for customers to quickly get help. My last (and I mean that as both the last time I was there and the last time I will ever go there) brought the store to a new low. I am a loyalty customer and had a 15% off coupon which I had used at 3:00 to purchase a few items. One of the items was a $15 throw rug. Knowing I wasn't sure if the colors would match my kitchen, I asked about the return policy and was told I had 60 days with the receipt. I went home, realized the colors of the rug did not match my kitchen. I went back to the store less than 3 hours later with the intent to replace it with a different rug. When I asked a woman working at the front of the store if I could replace it so that it still includes the 15% off, she told me no and that it was a one-time use coupon. It's not that I care about the money, it's the "service" part of customer service that appears to be lacking from this store. They were willing to lose a customer over $2.25. read more

Didn't realize this place was actually open, although I've been watching the transformation and eagerly awaiting the big reveal. While I get that it is the soft opening, they probably should have held off opening until they got more stuff out on the shelves. I liked what I saw so far, but they have only stocked around 40-50% of the shelves so I honestly can't tell whether it's going to be amazing or not. What they did have out on display looked nice enough for me to wait a while and go back once they have it all together, so there is that. I was expecting to be wowed, but left with just a meh! Certainly promising enough to draw me back in a couple of weeks when, hopefully, they will have the whole place stocked but I wouldn't go out of my way to check it out right now. read more

Hello, this message is to inform you of a positive experience I had at the Maryland Gaithersburg location. On Feb. 19, 2022 I was shopping for new furniture items for my birthday. One particular item was not in stock and I preferred to spend at this location because I had a lack of good customer service at another. I expressed this to Madison (associate/manager) and she was extremely polite and helpful with making my shopping experience a great one!! I left with all the items that I wanted since the missing item was available for me to have off display. I am big on having a great customer service experience because unfortunately it lacks in the retail industry nowadays. I wanted to make sure that Madison was praised for her good energy and effort to solve my matter. When I get bad service I typically choose not to spend money at a location, this happened at the capitol heights md location. My online order was cancelled with no explanation and when I asked questions, the woman I spoke to at this location was very short, unhelpful, surly, and sarcastic. I ended the conversation angry and even more confused than I was initially! I have mixed feelings about this store. As stated in many other reviews, the prices are too high. I too feel like they have gone up. There are never enough cashiers. I have waited in line forever on several occasions and had to ask someone to help the cashiers. There were 3 employees standing right behind the wall stocking items. They didn't initiate getting help nor helped until I asked. I signed up with my email as a "loyal customer" my first time shopping. I received a one time coupon for signing up. I have not received any emails or coupons since they opened. I do love the decor and items they sell. I think they can improve on many aspects. With the Home Store right down the street, Target, Walmart, Amazon, etc. you would think they would keep prices down and give shoppers coupons. read more

I visit every now and then to see what I find. They have a broad selection of home goods, but don't be deceived, as it's not HomeGoods. Products are of lesser quality, at times may be a bit flimsy, hence the low price points. My first visit, to be frank was a bit overwhelming, as I felt I was walking into the Walmart or Depot of home items. However, once you master the store layout, the visit is more amenable and fruitful. I wouldn't go here for ideas, but would stop by to see what I can find, maybe an accent feature and/or unexpected treasure ( i.e. throw basket, farmhouse style Christmas decorations, and nice outside rugs and artificial topiary trees for my porch). She flatly stated that the manager said last week that a new policy says no returns will be accepted; we bought the item 3 weeks ago and the policy is 60 days returns. I first visited one of these stores in another state so I was excited to hear another one was opening near me. I assumed they would all be the same but boy was I wrong. While there is a wide variety of reasonably priced home decor, if you're going for great customer service, forget it. The aisles are usually a disorganized mess with a lot of stuff sitting on the floor, making navigating with a cart difficult. There are rarely people working the floor in the cavernous facility to help you and, when you do find someone, they either don't speak English, don't know whether they carry something or not or where it would be if they did have it. The number of cashiers usually on duty is woefully less than the demand. Since there is no customer service counter, simple returns require that you wait in the same line as all the other customers. Today, there were only two cashiers and 42 people waiting in line to check out. At Home is like Home Goods and Hobby Lobby got married and had a baby. read more

I'm probably going to get beat up for this review, but I give this place a big "meh". I would begin to say that the store is massive, and it has basics like pillows, shower curtains, room curtains, mirrors and other home doodads. However, I found the quality to be kinda low and prices pretty moderate/high. I did not see any "name" brands like DKNY, Polo Ralph Lauren, Laura Ashley, or Tahari home. They were mainly these off brand cheapy looking house wares. They do have a lot of different items, but I even think the quality was at par with Walmart home goods (sorry!). Yes, they have a lot of empty shelves and different items, but I think they went with quantity over quality. The rugs were all synthetic polyester with no wool items or ones with a thick pile. Lots of fake plants and corelle plates. I don't think I'll be back. I'd rather go to Homegoods/Marshalls or even Target. I cruised around the store for 15 minutes and left. read more

Nicely merchandised, well stocked with lots of variety BUT way, WAY over priced. This was the same problem in Charlotte when Garden Ridge became At Home. I wouldn't compare this place to Home Goods - more like a cheaper version of Pier One (in merchandise NOT pricing).
