Been trying for a month to get a wheelchair for my mother. after numerous requests, changes to what documentation is needed, still no resolution. They never follow up with a phone call or email even though they say they will call you back. Every time I call I get another sales rep who I need to start from scratch and explain the situation. I try to be fair and realistic when I write a review, especially when it's trending in my mind toward the negative. Medicine, doctors, health care, etc. have all become bureaucratized and impersonal (I've had several instances where I've called my personal doctor...and I like him...and have been told, "Make an appointment with a specialist or go to an Urgent Care center."). It's discouraging, but that's the reality these days. As noted in other reviews, I was diagnosed with sleep apnea not too long ago. The sleep center told me it was severe. The pulmonologist told me it was "mild to moderate" but he recommended using CPAP. Ok. I made the appointment to visit the AtHome facility in Morris Plains. Plenty of parking, Nice white building. Inside, I was told to have a seat in the waiting room. Nature was calling, however, and I asked if I could use the rest room. I was buzzed inside and directed down a long hallway. The "office" was basically a cubicle factory, and I felt my 1st instinctive misgivings. It looked as much a telemarketer call center as it did the offices of a health care provider. I did what I had to and returned to the waiting room. I didn't have to wait long. A pleasant young woman directed me to a private room, unpacked the CPAP machine and proceeded to tell me, in detail, how to clean it. My thought was, "If I'm not being told how to use it, I guess it must be pretty easy to use." That night, I got nervous and watched a Youtube video, where a young guy who looked like he should have been instructing skiers on the slopes instead of intimating that he had sleep apnea explained...how to clean the CPAP. Frustrated, I went to put on the mask, turned on the machine, and attempted to sleep. Amazingly I did fall asleep but woke up abruptly shortly thereafter as a wind tunnel gusted with a frenzied force up my nostrils. I tore off the mask, threw it aside, and tried to return to the land of Morpheus. Scr*w this! I stayed with it, though, got used to it, and it seemed to function as advertised, although it never registered the correct amount of nightly usage time. This was a concern as if I didn't make the required nbr. of hours a night, insurance wasn't going to cover the cost. I was going to have to. I called several times, and was told, "The towers must be down, and that's why it's not registering correctly." I asked them to document this. I tried not to be suspicious, but it sure felt like I was being set up. A few weeks later, I received a text msg that said, "You are running out of time to reach the minimum usage requirements set by your insurance." I replied, "The machine doesn't register the correct amount of time. I've brought this to AtHome's attention several times." No response, no follow up. When I visited my pulmonologist, I explained the difficulty I was having, and I suggested maybe I should use some other CPAP provider. He said, "They're all pretty much the same...They don't care how they get paid, whether it's you or the insurance company, they just want to get paid." Yeah, Doc, I had kinda figured that out by then. Ultimately, it's all about the money. He reset my CPAP and sent a msg to AtHome, but it didn't make a difference. I received a letter from AtHome asserting that I hadn't met the requirements, and I could either pay $1,000 or return the CPAP. I called the nbr of the woman who sent the letter in order to discuss it, left a voicemail msg, and never received the courtesy of a reply. I finally called the main number, spoke to a pleasant young cubicle wage slave, and said, "I'm not trying to dump this on you personally but I'm ready to take this thing and throw it against the f**king wall." He consulted with a higher-up, and they offered a discount on the CPAP that was less than the amount the letter had indicated. I agreed. Do I feel like I got ripped off? Yeah. As my oldest friend remarked, when I described my troubles to him, "It sounds like a scam to me. Listen, my father had sleep apnea, never used a CPAP, and he lived till he was 91." Why did I end up buying the CPAP for a price that was still exorbitantly, excessively expensive? Instead of just returning it? Because I accept that I have sleep apnea, "mild" or otherwise. At its best, the CPAP does allow me to wake up feeling somewhat better than I might have otherwise. Part of my effort to lose weight is so that I perhaps might lose the sleep apnea entirely and then be able to fulfill my "fantasy" of throwing the CPAP against the f**king wall. I'm giving this 1 higher star than I'm really inclined to because I wouldn't want to deter those who have sleep apnea and need to have it addressed. Bottom line, though-- Look into "Inspire Therapy" and save yourself the headache of dealing with the CPAP machine in general and AtHome in particular. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would! I've dealt with them for over 5 years the reps, for the most part, are okay - but how they handle requests for supplies has been a very bad joke. It's made me wonder how the company manages to stay in business. Some reps are rude and give you wrong information...and when they "can't locate" your request and claim they don't have your medical information, the customer suffers (delayed supplies, etc). So glad my doctor switched my supplier!!!! read more

Total frustration dealing with this company. Complete runaround trying to get new CPAP supplies. Issue stems from the machine not recording my data and the Doc having no results. After AT Home sent me a new SD Card and I returned the old one weeks ago in their prepaid envelope, I still get the same answer - call your Doctor! After calling him several times and getting assurances that all of the data that At Home needs has been sent several times, I gave up. I am going to a new supplier that is competent and can be relied on to serve my medical needs. . read more

I visited the Morris Plains, NJ office and the office is fine, the lady who provided the equipment and the fit was fine. Was she the nicest? No, but was she rude? No. I am using a CPAP machine for the first time and so naturally I have many questions. I call the number and I'm not waiting on hold for a long time but when I do get someone on the other line the person is rude, abrupt, and treat me like I"m stupid. This is not a free service, we pay insurance and their customer service is awful--there is no customer service whatsoever. The last three people I have called have all treated me with disrespect and act as if I'm bugging them. If you have the option to try another company--even as reading the reviews here--they may all be the same, I would. read more

I have been trying for many months to have Columbus Ga At Home equipment to pickup up several items. If I am lucky enough to get the local office to answer, they tell me a delivery driver will call me back to set a date and time for picku. They never call. If I leave my number with the central answering service I never hear from anyone. They are just another part of a broken medical system it seems. Don't use this business. read more

This is one of the worst company around. I can't believe they are part of Atlantic Health!! It took 3 times calling them before they sent my husband's sleep equipment. Now we just received a bill for the whole year for the oxygen concentrator. It would be a very manageable amount if billed monthly, but for the while year in one bill is ridiculous!! Delivered my oxygen concentrator, did a good job of setting up and explaining. Called me the next day and had a respiratory therapist call me to answer a question. If you have Medicare, you have to be careful who you choose for home respiratory equipment because of the way Medicare pays it is difficult to change companies. I had a bad experience with Lincare. If they do, there's just a tube or filters in a box that could fit a vehicle. No mask. Not the correct order. Ever!! Not once. Even after speaking to people. Even after emails. Nothing comes. After two months of trying to get my C-pap mask to no avail I called my doctor and she sent an order to Ocean Home health. They called back immediately and I am expecting my mask to arrive in no more than three days. At Home medical has ZERO customer service and is totally incompetent. DONOT use them at all. I have had the misfortune of dealing with these people on and off for several years. They have the absolute worst customer service I have ever encountered. When you call them you will end up holding at least 20 minutes. This happen for the last time today. After holding for 20 minutes, I was told my prescription ran out for cpap supplies for the machine they sold me. I was told they would contact my doctor, and I could call back next week some time to place my order. Well, that's not going to happen. Absolutely ZERO customer service. These lame idiots never returned my calls from last Friday . That's Friday in case u missed. Fast forward to Monday . Start getting incessant phone calls. I took None Of Them. Then , get this , a guy shows up at 9:30 PM. I am in bed by 9:30. My wife turned him away as I did not want to accept anything from this company any longer. Actually, I'd rather die than to continue dealing with this company, if you can call it that. How do they stay in business ? Their customer service department never picks up the phone and does not return calls. They made a mistake on an order I submitted in February, and I need to return an item and I have not been able to get them on the phone to discuss. They were supposed to place an order for the correct equipment on March 18, which was when my insurance would cover it and instead they cancelled the order and it was impossible to get them on the phone. This is the worst customer care I have ever tried to get help from. Do yourself a favor and find a different company. I have been begging for new supplies for months. They send me an email after many months saying they had the wrong insurance info and they would get back to me!!!! While the staff I've spoken to at this company have been pleasant to deal with, getting to speak to someone is a testament to time wasting at its fullest. My last three phone calls to this company to reorder CPAP supplies have taken, in order, 1hr (early June), 1hr 20 min (early September), and today was 1 hr 26 min before I actually spoke to someone to verify that my online re-order was received. I never got that answer, but the young lady I spoke to (who was very polite and understanding of me being aggravated at the excessive hold times) made sure my order was processed while I was on the phone (which took an additional 16 minutes, including more hold time). Now that this ordeal is over with, I will be calling my referring doctor to reiterate, once again, that they need to find some other company to deal with. read more

This company penalizes you when you turn 65 if you are already in a rental and have to go on Medicare. They restart the rental and you wind up paying longer than required. When you complain about it, they tell you to "call Medicare". My advice is to get your CPAP someplace else . read more

Starting using CPAP 7 months ago. Was tired of trying to raise anyone on the phone when doing the first reorder. When I finally did, I asked them to set me up with auto shipping my supplies. They said okay. I asked if I would get any kind of confirmation that this set up, they said "probably not". Who says that??? Anyway, now my supplies are overdue again and I can not get them to call me to update me if they are on there way, or if I need to reorder them. I have had nothing but good experiences from Atlantic Health Care, But this specific group is tarnishing their reputation. Would by good if someone from Atlantic were to check out these reviews... I am thinking to drive over there and ask them what is going on.... ******** Since writing the review.... Dropped by my Pulmonologist's office without an appointment. They took me right in (although they did say they preferred that I get an appointment (which I will in future)). They had access to AtHomeMedical's system and told me the autoship was never set up. They provided me with all my supplies. I will still need to deal with AtHomeMedical.org for billing. But I will for now be getting my supplies through my doctors office. Hope AtHomeMedical gets it together - I am sure the people there are good, but something there seems broken. read more

Unbelievably incompetent! I had used At Home Medical Care in the past to obtain CPAP machines and supplies. About a year ago I fired my sleep doctor because he was also incompetent and I contacted the sleep medicine department at a large regional medical school and I'm now with the great doctor who is in charge of that program. He's fantastic! He knew immediately what my problems were (and which the previous doctor did not) and ordered additional tests in a sleep lab. The new doctor determined that I required a different type of machine - an ASV device, and this was confirmed during the in-lab sleep study. As he generally used a different durable medical device company for machines and supplies, I went with them. Unfortunately, there has been a severe shortage of computer chips over the past year, and machine manufacturers have not been able to add modems to the devices as they have done for many years in the past. A a result, it has been impossible to get with modems. However, my new doctor recently informed me that machines are now available and that I should get one. I contacted my current medical device company and they still can't get them. So, I thought I'd contact At Home Medical as I have used them in the past. What a joke! First, I spent 30 minutes on hold just waiting to get in touch with a live person. When I was finally successful at that, that person was grossly incompetent, and couldn't answer my simple question, "Do you have the type of machine I require in stock?" The person was so grossly incompetent that she couldn't answer the question - and despite my repeated attempts to get her to do so, simply didn't wanna be bothered. Unbelievable! I finally told her that if she can't give me an answer, then I would go to another medical device company that can tell me whether or not they have the machine. Never again! read more

One star is too kind this company is terrible I have been with them for a year and it's been nothing but problems trying to order cpap supplies. Was told when I first became a patient that I was on auto ship and would receive my order every three months. Well never happened!!!! I have too call every time to reorder supplies and am given the runaround and told that the problem will be resolved. Nope doesn't help. I use them for catheter supplies. As long as I do not mind switching up brands it's ok. But they are rather iffy on having every brand every time. It also takes a week or more just for them to put the supplies into the mail for delivery. As long as I am not choosy about brands, as long as I can wait 10-14 days for supplies to arrive (without paying twice the costs of the supplies themselves in shipping costs) It's ok. read more

I wish I could give zero stars. Every step of this process working with At Home Medical has been a disaster and it's been 2 weeks since I got my machine. First- it took 6 months for them to get me my CPAP. I was measured incorrectly and was given a small sized mask that was not working well. The "guaranteed" replacement masks didn't work either so I requested a bigger size. Was told I had to pay out of pocket. Then, a piece from the tubing that connects to the mask was not working. After trying to convince customer service it was actually broken- they didn't even send the proper piece or mask. Just sent me a completely different type of mask without the broken piece I need. And they tell you not to call the customer service line because "no one answers" says Joe a manager from AHM. Long story short- AVOID THIS PLACE. It's a literal mess. read more
