As a city girl who occasionally finds her way to the suburbs, a at home stop is almost always on the agenda. Whenever I need something for the apartment, patio or deck I consult with myself as to what I want next. Like every discount store, it is a hit or miss. And, if you like something, BUY IT THEN or It WILL be gone if you wait. I actually traded in home good for this place, You can tell that it was a Walmart before, thats how big and spacious it is. It's bright, cheerful, and precisely organized, also the quality of there product is fantastic. Although this place is enough to lose your mind I have to consider my buget so the boss discount prices which I recieve has to be my favorite, and shopping at home goods i recieve nothing, zip, zero! I have been struggling trying to decided if i should leave this review but something told me i needed to. My family and I were recently in the At Home store in Middletown NY, while we're were shopping my son was having some stomach issues and i went to go use the family restroom. It was locked (which was fine, and i assumed a parent was with their child in there) and i did not mind that. After about 10 minutes i started to get a little annoyed that the person in there was not coming out. After about 15 minutes the door finally opened and to my surprise a customer and a male manager named Jordan walked out together. I don't know what was going on in that bathroom but it did not seem appropriate to me. I'm not trying to accuse anyone of anything but if i think what happened in that family bathroom happened. I'm very disheartened that something like that would be taking place in public let alone by a manager at the store. read more

Wow what a store!! If you looking to decorate your place or buy items for someone this is the place. It's my second time here and had to buy some gifts and get some gift cards. It's a huge store with a lot of selections to choose from. Some items can be pricey but worth it. I could definitely decorate my place with the items here and trust me they have a great selection. Good afternoon, On Saturday , November 30th 2019, I decided to visit the At Home store in Middletown NY. I had a few things to return and had just received a 20% off a whole purchase ! I was quite excited as I go there quite frequently. I bought a few things and went to the check out . There was a woman there who waved me on! As I approached her I she was on her cell phone. I said how much i liked her phone . Imagine my surprise when she jumped back as of I we're going to steal her phone! She became very agitated and would not even look at me and when I apologized for complimenting on her phone she look at me and said you invaded my personal space and wouldn't even take my merchandise off of the counter! I was mortified as I have never been treated like this before ! She treated me as if i were a criminal! As if I had the plague and wouldn't even touch the merchandise I put up in the counter ! Then she would not even pack my merchandise and threw the bag at me and said here you can pack it! I turned to put me credit card back in my purse and she threw everything in my bag. I went to put it in the cart and everything fell out and broke ! She just threw all the glass ornaments on the top without individually wrapping them ! I have never felt so mortified or offended in my life! Please talk to the managers over there and let them know that if you are a cashier you must have some sort of talking with people experience. Just what America needs: another big box store with overpriced crap with PRACTICALLY NOTHING HAVING BEEN MADE HERE IN AMERICA. MOST OF THIS STUFF WILL END UP IN THE GARBAGE AFTER ABOUT 3 MONTHS OF USE OR IN SOMEONE'S GARAGE SALE NEXT SUMMER. You can get similar beautiful things even better made and less expensive that will last much longer (albeit at a much smaller scale or selection) at Home Goods, Target, Walmart, or ETSY. I'M GIVING THIS PLACE 3 STARS ONLY BECAUSE OF THE SELECTION. Customer service wasn't too great either. you can tell that the employees were frustrated at the checkout stands because unlike their competition (Burlington, etc) where the line is customers don't know that it's their turn. So you have employees literally yelling to the right "Next!!!!!!". line moves pretty quickly. They have about five registers which is a good thing because the place was pretty busy and it wasn't even halfway packed in the parking lot. I can see this place getting ridiculously busy during the holidays. I'm not saying I won't come back here I'm just saying that I'm not impressed with the price tags and the fact that 99% of the stuff in this place you can find so many other places. Completely and utterly LOVE this store. You can find anything you need. Yes, maybe some items are cheap but the store is very affordable for all the nice things they offer. My mother (and father who is not into shopping at all) put me on to this place. I'm obsessed. The variety is impeccable. As far as customer service goes, it was normal/friendly. 2 out of the 4 visits to this store I was encountered in a very abusive experience the last being 3weeks ago upon a return after Christmas holiday. Lo and behold the uncouth associate was the only opened cashier.....due to no business. She appeared heated due to my PIN number trouble and exhibit the same low life behavior I know so well. And not bad enough, upon requesting a manager to address this situation she didn't clear my return and while waiting this "dude" started to verbally attack me because "I" was holding things up. Unbelievable sh&T show. Anyways, still waiting for that regional manager to call as well as a return call from their cooperate office. This store is packed full with anything home related you may be looking for. As other reviews mentioned, it contains useful items but it also contains a lot of things you don't need. Yes there are items that are not the best quality, but if you need some towels or a new, inexpensive lamp that looks nice, then this store serves you well. I've gotten blankets, a lamp, a plant stand and some other kitchen items here that are decent quality at an affordable price. If you want a more enjoyable browsing experience, then I recommend HomeGoods a mile or so away. At Home in my opinion is the place you visit a couple times a year when you have a list of essentials you are looking for. I can agree with other reviews where they say its not laid at well in some places (columns in the middle of narrow aisles) and can be a little messy, especially in the bedding. I chalk that up more to inconsiderate public though as the staff can only do so much to keep things picked up while trying to attend to the other needs of the public and store. read more

Awful. Awful. Awful. Cheap, over priced garbage. The store is a mess. Items are all poorly made. I first searched for hand towels. I literally had to pick through a pile to find one that didn't have hanging strings or pulls. During my trip down the aisle, I realized I'd have to turn around because there was a giant pole blocking my cart. Next stop coffee mugs. Lots of tacky, cheap, iridescent mugs. Dollar store stuff, with $6+ tags. I finally came across some halfway decent mugs in the next aisle. After about inspecting a bunch I finally found ONE without a ding, crack or discoloration. Next search, a full length mirror. Granted, I wasn't looking to spend a lot. In the $20-30 range there were a choice of 4 styles, which was basically 2 styles in 2 colors. When I chose a style/color, every single mirror had paint on the frame that was scratched, a lot. Since I really needed it for the next day and it was late, I select the mirror with only one scratch. I did see some cute, decorative mirrors, priced $125 and up. These are not well made pieces, not worth anywhere near those prices. I passed a love seat on display for $700. It had strings hanging off the bottom and off the arms. I've never seen so much poorly made, imported garbage in one place. Checkout: My first trip here, so it took a bit to find check out. Several empty registers, I almost thought there were no cashiers, until I saw one at the end slumped over looking at her phone. I greeted her and explained I had signed up up new member coupon the night before , but never received one. She said "first I'll ask you to add your phone number on the keypad, then I'll politely ask you to search your phone" Um, ok. I put in my phone my number and it pulls my name. She says "great we have you!, now check your phone!" Here I am looking at my phone like an idiot thinking I'll get a text or an email with the coupon. The cashier was very busy looking at her own phone. After a bit, I say there is nothing. She says "search your emails for At Home" and goes back to her phone. I have emails for sale items from At Home, but no coupon. She looks up from her phone and says "well it could take 48 hours to get the coupon". Seriously? 48 hours from when I register online to get a lousy 10% off?!? She puts down her phone so she can scan my few items. I ask for the price on a garbage pail I picked up because I didn't see one. She scans it and keeps scanning other items. I ask again what was the price, she says "oh yeah, it's $15.99". I decline on the pail. It took was plastic jIn the end I've got one decent mug, one hand towel with nearly no pulls, two drinking glasses and one long mirror with just one scratch and no coupon. I pay and the cashier asks "oh, do you want a bag?" I tell her that would be great. She hands me one bag. A plastic bag that you have to do that wiggle thing your fingers to open because it's stuck closed. Once I opened it, I put my 2 glasses, one mug and hand towel into it. Safe! Never again. This is a messy, unsafe building full of junk with cashiers that care more about their phones then their customers. read more
