It was in the time of COVID and we had to wait for 9 months for the delivery of our new sofa and loveseat. It arrived and...I hated it. The color was blah, my feet didn't touch the floor, the seats seemed lopsided with the stuffing. Then, the tears in the seams started. We purchased the furniture from Adirondack Furniture Company so I sent them pictures of the issues. They sent out a repairman. He did a great job, but the next year there were more rips in the fabric and pilling and fabric pulling apart, which we spent extra for the uber durable upholstery. This past spring, bless their hearts, I sent another email about rips in the head rests. Well, the furniture company, Adirondack Furniture Company, reached out to me and offered 100% store credit to get all new furniture 4 years after our purchase date. People...I think this is unheard of in today's world. Today I ordered a new custom recliner (for Buddy) and a new sofa, and I still have a store credit to apply to a chair for me...all expenses, including delivery and removal of the old furniture, is being covered by Adirondack Furniture Company. These folks stand behind their products! I am incredulous.

If you are unable to use the stairs to enter and exit the store, then you are going to have to either pass up the chance to visit the showroom or see if they will allow you to enter via another means. The loading dock is not wheelchair accessible. This is a huge problem for persons with ambulatory concerns. The store has a location in (north) Utica, New York that is a ground floor showroom. If you like the Adirondack style, then I want to mention and encourage you to visit ADK Home in Old Forge, New York. They have a Facebook page but they don't display much in inventory there. Visit before and after snowfall. Friday nights is an "art walk" event that the local galleries sponsor. Their website is https://www.facebook.com/WildernessInteriors/

I was not the only one who was lost. They have nicely designed products at very reasonable prices. There are carts and bags for shopping and the employees were very helpful. They all wear something bright yellow so they are easily found. The famous meatballs are tasty and they are served with mashed potatoes, gravy and a delicious berry sauce. Besides home furnishings of every kind, there is a small section with swedish cookies, jams, etc

On my drive from Cleveland to the Lake Placid area I decided to check out the new Ikea in Syracuse…read more This store is a slightly smaller store located in a large mall. Getting to the mall was easy enough, but finding the store was a bit more challenging, Google maps put me in the wrong part of the large mall and once inside the lack of maps and the poor signage meant I had some difficulty in finding the store. Once I located the store I found it to be a somewhat typical Ikea setup in that it had what seemed like the full display areas, but was missing the self service area, the full cafeteria and had a smaller check out area with a small fast service food area. It did seem to have all of the room displays, but not as much of the items you grab as you go through the store. This type of Ikea store seems like a good option if you are in the area, but not quite as good as a destination stop to shop. Still I would welcome one of these in the Cleveland area, but of course would prefer a full Ikea store.

Now I don't know about anyone else, but Id expect a "leather" recliner to last more than 3 1/2 years but not he case with ours. Within the first year the "leather" started peeling/breaking down and of course it was all due to consumer care according to Flex Steel but since it was within the 1st year of purchased it was repaired (not replaced) with new sections of material. About 5 months ago, the same thing started happening on the left side arm rest only much worse but this time because it was out of warranty, Flex Steel nor Dunk & Bright would not repair, replace or return for full credit. Through all this we discovered our "real" leather recliner is "bonded" leather. BIG difference and something that should have been brought to our attention at time of purchase. Now you may think its asking for a lot after 3 1/2 years to have this addressed with full coverage costs but honestly, do these two companies expect a customer to drop over $2,000.00 on a piece of furniture only to have the covering start breaking down after 3 1/2 years? I thought i was dealing with reputable companies but guess not. And as far as consumer care goes (our care), we purchased about 15 years ago an Ekrons Stressless "real" leather recliner and about 7 years ago a Natuzzi "real" leather recliner. To date absolutely NO issues or signs wear. Guess that's what happens when you purchase quality furniture from reputable companies. Never again Dunk & Bright or Flex Stee.

Since I have a new born it has taken me a little while to write this but needless to say, ordering 6 months in advance was not enough time to get everything. My delivery date changed 5 times. Even the warehouse distribution center didn't care and never answers their phone. I finally gave up waiting after 7 months. No one could locate all the pieces for my order (almost $5000) in the DC and they wouldn't send another to them. Idk! Nothing made sense. No one helped. I ordered from Target and it arrived within the week.

Antiques West is an incredible Syracuse gem that anyone who'd enjoy wandering through a deceptively…read morehuge maze of antique, vintage, and secondhand items would be crazy to overlook! It's a one-story warehouse-style building that's been sectioned and compartmented off into smaller areas where the wares of dozens (I think---it seemed that diverse, anyway) of individual vendors are arranged. The layout of the actual interior is deceptive in that you eventually reach a point toward the back of the main building where you realize that a series of doorways (and with abundant signage indicating what you'll find through each one) actually leads to several additional huge spaces beyond, each with even more items to browse. One of these "back room" areas contained multiple racks filled with vintage clothing (both women's and men's) that had clearly been carefully curated via the vendor's high standards of overall quality/vintage condition, and the diverse range of clothing types (costumey vs. casual/everyday vs. formal/dressy, etc.) was particularly impressive. My visit to AW happened accidentally and with only about an hour remaining until they closed for the day, so I know I didn't get to see all the rooms, let alone all the items, that were available at that time. Even so, I managed to find a wide selection of things to purchase (art prints, vintage collectible calendars, 5+ articles of clothing, two beautiful lamps, and more!) and was definitely able to confirm AW as a 100% worthwhile stop to include on any list of must-visit Syracuse antique/vintage shops. And what's more, every single staff member and vendor that I encountered while I was shopping went absolutely above and beyond in helping me find my way around, learn more about the back stories of certain items I expressed interest in, and trying on the clothing items I'd picked out prior to deciding whether to buy them. They seemed genuinely interested in getting to know me as a first-time shopper, and in turn I got to know several of them on a first-name basis even in the short amount of time I had to spend that afternoon. All in all I have nothing but positive things to say about the entire experience I had at my first Antiques West visit, and I can't wait to go back again soon!
