The selection of stores, cafes, and markets here is fantastic--you can easily kill an hour shopping or grabbing a great bite to eat while waiting for a departure. Just a heads-up: give yourself plenty of extra time to reach your train. The platforms here are incredibly long, and if your train is assigned to one of the regional tracks or a high-speed engine waiting far down the line, it can be a massive, unexpected walk to get to your carriage. Keep your eyes on the departure boards and don't linger at the shops too long.

The uber pickup area is a little hard to find, through a nondescript hallway, but getting an Uber worked pretty easily for us. In the past I've had no issues getting cabs as well - at least not no more issue than anywhere else in Rome.

They have a decent selection of restaurants in a good size food hall. The only issue I had was how packed it was! It's extremely busy, so trying to find a table to eat at was a challenge. There is a restroom in the back, but it's for paying customers only. They will check for a receipt, so don't throw it away! The rail system in Rome hits all the major attractions, and goes out to the coast! It's an easy and affordable way to see Rome!

Seeing as it is quite small, navigating the Rome underground is very straightforward. The main thing to remember is that Roma Termini is the connection point between lines and just about every other transport in the Eternal City. Out of the three lines, only A, which appears red or orange on maps, and B (the blue line) are completed and are the ones that pass through the most landmarks, such as the Vatican Museum, the Colosseum, the Spanish Steps, etc. Line C is a new line gradually being opened in stages. My partner, our friends, family member, and I used it for 2 days during our stay. A single ride costs €1.50 and is valid for 100 minutes on a combination of metro, buses, and trams. But we bought a €12.50 ticket valid for unlimited metro, bus, and train travel within Rome for 48 hours from validation. It was generally clean and safe; keep one's belongings close and watch out for pickpockets (as one should in most major cities), and one should be fine.

He grew up and lives in Naples and was a great guide. We stop at a scenic place overlooking Mt. Vesuvius and Pompeii. Once we arrived in Ravello, we were able to walk around and WE LOVE RAVELLO! Gorgeous! We stopped in Atrani, Amalfi, Positano and Sorrento. We had a great time! When our cruise was over our transfer driver was MARICA. She was nice but spoke very little English. The next day we had a full day tour of Rome with ALISANDRO. He grew up in Rome and knew EVERYTHING about Rome. He booked a private Vatican tour for us. INCREDIBLE!
