Great value for the experience - plus, it was just the two of us with no one else joining us on the tour even though others could join, so it turned into a private experience for us! Michael was extremely personable, friendly and knowledgeable. We loved having someone so knowledgeable to show us around so we didn't have to drive ourselves. We visited three different wineries and they were all unique and interesting with a variety of wines. We visited Thacher (6 tastings plus a bonus pour of cider), Whalebone Winery (9 pours - wow!) and McPrice Myers (5 pours plus a bonus). Plus lunch, which was included in the price (sandwich and potato salad and cookie)!!! Great scenery and a beautiful day to enjoy our tastings booth inside and outside each winery. We also learned so much from each person serving us too. Michael also went out of his way to point out local restaurants and favorite bars and speakeasies in the area along the way. Finally, we left a sweater on the van and Michael called us to let us know and he drove back to return it to us. We really appreciated his kindness and great customer service. The way she spoke about Marin and everything that goes into the wines was so genuine and enthusiastic--it really elevated the whole experience. Her energy and customer service were top-notch from start to finish. My wife was in heaven the entire time. Her absolute favorite was the Grit and Grace bottle. The bottles labels are so pretty with so much color. The tasting room itself is small, but in the best way possible--super cozy, intimate, and welcoming. I was struggling with how to plan something special for a group of 6 without busting the bank and still getting a great experience. I heard about Kathy & Jim's "The Bus Stop Pismo Beach" tour through a niece. I will tell you this was perfect! First, Kathy & Jim are two of the sincerest people you will meet. They both are members at wineries throughout the Edna Valley, so they know their stuff and they love (almost passionate about... ) wines from this valley. One of the sisters is a a wine lover and shared that every winery that Kathy took them too was some of the best ones to visit. Every stop we had a reserved area so Kathy put in the time and catered the tour to us. But it didn't stop there! They included an afternoon snack time at one of the wineries and they shared local products from the valley too. Again, they are passionate about their valley and it extends beyond the wine. The best part of for me was the ride. It is a working, vintage VW Bus!!! This experience took the sister-in-laws back to their glory days; lol... Kathy was the perfect host.
