He notice I was extremely stress out and kindly he make sure I was ok, assuring me everything is going to be fine... I really appreciated that. Decent service, quick turnaround so all that is great. AAA towed my car here instead of my usual mechanic. got my car back absolutely covered in filth on the interior of my car. My car isn't a beacon of pristine cleanliness but it certainly didn't have a layer of soot coating everything when I dropped it off. Paying for a service over $1400 and getting my car back dirty on the INSIDE isn't great (maybe I'm spoiled because my usual mechanic always makes sure cars are returned clean.) read more

I came in and said that something keeps draining my battery (e.g. parasitic drain) and I asked if they could diagnose it. They said yes. After less than an hour, they said that there is no problem, and that my battery is drained. They only checked the charging system and starting system, which I already had checked by AAA. Diagnosing a parasitic drain takes a lot more time, and if they weren't going to do it, they should have just said so. So now I'm out $140 only for them to tell me what I already know. I don't know why AAA would even affiliate themselves with this RIPOFF car service garage . We brought our BMW x5 here due to the car heating up. When we picked up the car it still could not be driven home because even after they replaced the plastic reservoir tank and the plastic plate it sits on and charging us a total of $765!!!! repair bill they text my husband and told him that the car needed a radiator, radiator hoses , thermostat , transmission oil cooler , oil cooler for thermostat and water pump. Jovan said The repair they did and charged $765 was only to be able you put it on the diagnostic machine and see what was wrong with it! We were under the impression that if he fixed the cracked plastic reservoir and plate it maybe fix the issue. We would have never agreed to pay over $700 just to find out what "might be " the problem When I called the company Jovan said oh no we had to fix that JUST to get it on the diagnostic machine and read the codes. I said this was BS and if that what he conveyed to my husband that's not what he understood. He had a very nonchalant attitude. I am baffled to think that these folks can rip off people this way. The cost alone for labor to replace the tank and plate was $495! I will be contacting BBB and Triple A to express my concerns. Beware of this place and take your car elsewhere. ATG was one of several AAA recommended stations near me, so I looked them up on Yelp. I was amazed to see ratings of "5" and "1"but pretty much nothing in between. I got a quote over the phone for a 30,000 mile service, and decided to give them a try. I wound up being satisfied with my service. I got what I asked for at the agreed price. My only negative was being told to come in at 12:30, and my car wasn't even brought into the bay until 1:20. Pretty sure I'm going to avoid any AAA recommended shops moving forward. I had a 2014 Kia Soul that broke down on me on my way to work at 11am on Friday 06/14. Car made it to the shop before 12pm. Obviously didn't have an appt so wasn't expecting to get priority over others. But the guy in the office told me that he was going to give me a call when they looked at the car that day. I called around 3pm, they hadn't checked it yet... Again didn't have an appt so not much that i could be that upset about but the shop closed, no update and they were closed over the weekend. Called first thing in the morning Monday 06/17 and the guy said he was just about to call me and that he was calling around for engine prices because my "engine broke", i asked him what the problem was and he said "the engine is just broke, there's no point in looking inside to see what it was since you'll need a new engine anyways." It also seemed as tho he was insinuating that my engine had a rattling sound before it broke down? But I've never heard any rattling from my engine? But he kept saying it like i was aware there was a sound? Which idk how he could even hear it cause the engine wouldn't even turn on. I still have no clue what was wrong with the engine. Immediately after getting off the phone with him i called the Kia dealership and got a quote for how much the engine would be. The Kia dealership quoted me about $4k+ for engine and parts. ATG called me back around shortly after and quoted me $6k+ for just the engine, parts and 6mo warranty or $7k+ with labor to have them do it. Not sure how much Kia would've charged for labor but the engine in of its self was quoted $2k more than the actual dealership for just parts. Told the guy atp I'm just going to get a new car and that i wasn't going to be able to pick it up that day but will have my car towed out of there. Wednesday 06/19 called the shop first thing in the morning to ask some questions: if the diagnosis fee had tax, if that would get the AAA discount and if i would need to pay a storage fee. The guy i spoke to wasn't the guy I've been talking to so he told me to call back when he got there but said, no tax, yes AAA discount. Called back later on and spoke with the original guy id been working with. I asked him if there's been any storage fees yet and he said if i didn't pick it up that day there would be a $90 storage fee a day and that they don't charge the first 3 days after the diagnosis but after that they do and that he's "already given me a few days as a courtesy"............... "A FEW DAYS.... AS A COURTESY......" WHEN MY CAR DIDNT EVEN GET CHECKED UNTIL MONDAY MORNING........ So understandably Wednesday would've been day 3, completely understandable but to act like he's doing me this huge favor when my car sat there undiagnosed the whole weekend is BS. Which is why I've added the dates to my review because that's simply BS. I do absolutely appreciate them waiving the 4th day even tho the car was towed within an hour of them opening on said 4th day but still appreciate it. But to act like i got some kind of grace period for "a few days" is crazy when they were literally closed is crazy. Still don't know anything about what happened to my cars engine and probably never will. Still amazed at how they were going to charge more than the kia dealership. Disappointed with the customer service from the guy i worked with which may be why my experience was the way it was. His customer service is HORRENDOUS. I definitely know its hard to maintain a positive attitude at work... especially when you work in customer service but I'm at least friendly to people who don't give me a hard time, which i never did.. there was definitely a lot I wanted to say but didn't because i already felt like i was inconveniencing him by asking for additional info which is why i kept our convos brief. Also, disappointed that they initially charged us the full fee of $155 even tho we were OBVIOUSLY with AAA and had to go back to get a $15 refund. Then had the nerve to ask what i was going to do with the car and if i wanted to sell it to them and buy a new car from them. I'll never go to them again... no matter how much AAA drivers "recommend" them. Mine was even like "oh these guys are great and they'll help you out and i take my cars there personally and blah blah blah". I was referred to ATG by Triple AAA. Jevon at ATG took care of 2 major issues on my 2005 Honda Element, they repaired by welding, the damage done to the catalytic converter by a thief unsuccessful in stealing it. Then they finally fixed a problem I'd had for years, by replacing engine and transmission mounts. I knew that was an issue, had other mechanics inspect and test drive and was told they didn't find any issues. Wow, I'm so happy to have finally found a professional, competent auto repair shop. I will also be taking my 2017 Honda CRV to ATG for service, when needed. read more

At the advise of the AAA tow truck driver I took my truck to this shop. While there a young woman who was having her 2009 Honda Accord being serviced asked my opinion if $650 was a fair price to replace an alternator. I asked to see the receipt and saw they were charging $360 for a new Denso brand alternator so, out of curiosity I decided to call Napa Auto Parts and found they retail there for $240. I also noticed they were charging her 2.5 hours labor to replace an alternator which seemed excessive to me. I repeat, she asked my opinion, I did not volunteer it, and so I gave her my polite opinion. The shop owner then became angry and told me he did not want to service my truck and that I had to leave. I was happy to take my business elsewhere and do not recommend anyone going to this shop. Do yourself a favor and find a honest car repair shop because this one is not it. read more

Update 5/19/2020 - Lies! Why would I have a diagnostic done when I know that the alarm was setting off randomly and causing the battery to drain? I explained IN-DEPTH the issue my car was having and NEVER did I say, just rip out the alarm, I asked you to fix the issue which does not warrant a costly diagnostic. When I brought it back to you, you told me to find the sensor by listening to it when it goes off which is what you should have done when you had my for 4 hours. I see you guys will make up any story to not take responsibility for the work you did not do. YES - I have other reviews for another repair shop that also (after 15 years) took advantage of me. I am also not the only woman stating that your shop overcharges and tries to take advantage of women who come in. Plenty of reviews on your business for that. This is what Yelp is for - consumers to TELL THE TRUTH about service so it maybe prevents others (women) from being taken advantage of (in the case of auto stuff). Nice try Mike. [Original review folllows]: I hope to, at some point, resolve my issues with ATG. Either they fix what I paid them to fix or a refund of my payment to them. Here is what happened - Back in Feb 2020 I went to ATG as it was recommended to me by a AAA driver who had come out to replace my battery. My battery was draining because my car alarm was setting itself off repeatedly and at random times. I could not lock my car as it would go off randomly no matter the time or day. I took my car into ATG and explained my car situation. I also told Mike that I was an AAA member (so I could get the discount service for being a AAA member). I was there for the better part of 4 hours. They completely took out the after factory alarm and claimed my car was fixed. At least now (I thought) I could lock my car with the key and no alarm would go off. The service person (Pon) also took out my interior lamp lights as he said they were draining my battery. I wasn't sure why because if the alarm no longer was going to set off and drain the battery why I needed the light bulbs out. I enter and exit at night to darkness in my car which is also not safe. Anyway, all that was done and I went home. That same day, the alarm went off on my car. I was surprised as I had just paid a lot of money to have this issue fixed. I called ATG while my alarm was going off in my driveway so they could hear it and it was heard on their side before I unlocked it to shut of the alarm. I said I would take my car back in - in a few days when I had more extra time to spare. When I took my car back in - Mike did not look for the solution. Instead, I was just told that I needed to search for the sensor or cause of the alarm going off. I was extremely disappointed at that he refused to actually fix what I had come in for days prior. So, I basically planned my 2nd day around getting my car fixed but ended up with another wasted a trip there. Also, on this visit, I reminded Mike that he had not given me my AAA discount that I had told him about more than once when I had first gone in for service. He cut me a $12.50 ( I think) check and that was fine. I went home with my car still not having been fixed though. I locked my car and waiting for the alarm to go off and it sure did so I tried listening for an area or where the senor could be when the alarm went off - but it just sounds like the entire car was making the noise. I am back to doing exactly what I had to do prior which is not lock my car even in my drive because it disturbs my neighbors at random times. Prior to Quarantine, I was not able to lock my car when I went out and the same is true for after Covid-19. The more I think about it - the more I realized that I paid them about $125.00 to fix this very problem - that I still have and I am out my money and no solution. I was disappointed that Mike told me that I had to find the problem instead of them/him taking the time to do so. He didn't even offer. Once he had my money he did not care that he didn't actually fix the problem. I am finally writing this review because I have the time to tell my story during this time of isolation. I have come to ATG Auto Tech Group twice now, and both times have been great experiences. The first time around, I came in by chance, because it was the closest AAA auto shop to me when I broke down on the side of the freeway. I ended up needing to get my radiator replaced, in addition to some other work, and the guys at ATG did all of that for a fair price, they worked quickly, and even dropped me off at home when I didn't have a ride back. They truly made a hard experience easier. Because of my great experience the first time, last week my car started making a strange noise, and I knew exactly where I would be taking it to have the noise checked out. I ended up needing my brakes replaced, and again, this was done for a fair price & the service was unmatched. The guys I talked to were so kind, & got my car back to me within a few hours. Tried to overcharge my daughter on a simple repair. I should have looked at the reviews before allowing my daughter to let AAA tow the car here. Like the review below, the AAA driver recommended this place. They charged my daughter $95 diagnostic fee, even though we told them it was the starter. Wanted $340 for the starter, and $165 labor, claiming the starter was very hard to find.. Total bill $546 for a starter, and that was with the AAA discount of $50. We pulled the car and had it done for $350 down the street (the starter was hard to find). Still got stuck with the $95 diag fee though. Find a better option. Don't fall for the AAA driver recomendation. read more

THESE "MECHANICS" TAKE ADVANTAGE OF GIRLS AND TRY TO OVERCHARGE THEM... My girlfriend was assured by AAA that this was a trusted establishment that would take care of her car, only to find out that they charged her $100 for a diagnostic test to tell her the Alternator was busted even though that was the original reason it was towed there. They tried to charge her $500 initially... and then $350 after we said we were not using their services. The owner assured me that this was the best price is town after calling seven other establishments to compare quotes (YEAH RIGHT), and then we found a trusted dealer who fixed the car for less than $200. Called me a liar and said he would do half of any quote I got... (so you are gonna do the job for $100 after quoting her $500?) That sounds like a trustworthy business. And forgot to check if the hood was closed before we left the parking lot... Amateur. These "mechanics" are a SCAM, and prey on girls. Do not trust this establishment. read more

As usual, ignore yelp reviews at your own peril...The first indicator should have been the fact that all of the mechanics I called that had good reviews were all booked solid for days and these guys were not...The AAA tow truck referred us to this business....which should have been strike two...but we had him take it there anyway because no other mechanics were readily available...Long story short, we paid a little more than half what we were quoted by these guys to get the car fixed...that includes the $130 they charged for the few minutes they actually looked at the car...which was, of course, was incorrectly diagnosed. Horrible, shitty customer service, rude mechanics, and didn't ultimately fix what I needed! They will talk down to you like you're an idiot. I originally came here for my started but figured they could fix my AC while I was here based on recommendations from the dealer. They charged me $450 for nothing (what they did didn't work) and didn't perform a diagnostic so that they couldn't be blamed when it didn't work. When I took it back, they claimed they were being kind by not charging me for fixing the leak, but AGAIN didn't perform a diagnostic. AC still broken and they refuse to give my money back. Experienced the same situation as many others claimed before me. Originally I wanted to go to the dealer to fix my car but the tow truck driver told me that the dealer would charge more so he recommended this place. Foolishly I agreed and came to this auto shop. As others have mentioned in their reviews, I was taken an advantage of because I am a female. This shop wanted to charges me almost $1,000 for the same job that the dealer charged at $500. The amount of time needed to do the job as quoted by this shop was three times more than the time required by the dealers (I called two dealers to confirm the man hours required for this specific task). After replacing the part at the dealership that his auto shop recommended, the dealer service rep said that the recommended part replacement was actually unnecessary. My car's issue was something else. I should have asked the dealer to run their own diagnostics instead of requesting them to replace the component based on the diagnostic that this auto shop did. What a horrible mistake! Do not come to this auto shop because their diagnostic is not accurate and they are not honest about their price. read more

So this place isn't the cheapest auto repair place. But the Manager was willing to work with me on my car repair. I called AAA because my car would not start and the tow truck driver ask if I had a shop so trusting him I accepted to take my car to a AAA repair spot. The tow man and the owner/manager of the shop are definitely "In Cahoots" with each other. To repair my starter in the car he quoted me $490ish with a part costing $350ish and labor $120ish. It was to expense for me to do that but after speaking the Manager which he was able to drop the price to closer to $400 and explained to me that AAA doesn't want to tow my car over and over again so they have to put in the best parts and service. The part came with a 2 year warranty so after agreeing I called around to different shop and here is what I got Dealership quote- $590 Forgot to ask for warranty info Auto Shop in the Hood- $360 with 1 year warranty ATG- $400 with 2 year warranty There prices seem to be closer to dealership prices at first but the manager was very understanding of my situation and work with me on price. I don''t know if this is my "Go-to" repair shop but I had a pretty good experience and would consider them again. I would highly recommend anyone to always do some research first. read more

I had a very good experience here. My car was towed here after over heating on 46th & El Cajon Blvd on a Sunday night. Mark the Manager contacted me first thing Monday morning and was honest and up front about costs to test the vehicle, said he'd call back in two hours and did. Said my car would be ready at 3:00 and my car was finished at 3:00. Since I was a bit early I had to wait about 30 minutes and they have a nice and clean waiting area with big screen TV and free water. I was also thankful the tow truck driver Sam from Angelos towing recommended ATG and the shop is also AAA recommended. They also have a secure gated area so my car was safely locked inside the security gate over night. I'd give Five Stars but I gave Four stars because I've only been to the shop once. I plan on taking my car back for oil change and tune up. And, hopefully I found a regular mechanic because if you have a car you should have a mechanic you can trust! read more

The ship charges about 100 just to look at your car and they see a sucker if it's on a tow truck. AAA folks watch out because it's am approved center and they use that to overcharge. The placer is very clean which means they aren't busy and that should be a red flag of you know about repair shopsand the fact that all the other shops are busy. Be very careful. Pleasant people though, but imagine 1000 estimate to replace an old radiator and flush... just wow. We took jut elsewhere for $550 read more

I needed a new transmission and they totally hooked me up on getting me what I needed (not to mention saving me half the price everywhere else)..
