Everything this place is horrible. I negotiated a price on a new truck online. I then spent two days trying to wire my money in only for the wire to bounce back. The Finance guys were clueless and had no interest in solving my problem. I finally showed up on a third day with a cashiers check and after signing paperwork, activating my My Ram app dropping off check with the finance department. I sat in the lobby for nearly 30 minutes for the sales manager to tell me they cannot sell the truck because it's on an active recall of do not sell. I learned later this information had been out over a week. Why was my time wasted after driving nearly 2 hours to this dealership, what a joke of course I asked to hear from the general manager, and that never happened either whatever you do do not buy from this place. read more

Be very careful dealing with Athens Dodge Chrysler Jeep. We purchased a 2023 Jeep Cherokee Overland 4xe and completed all paperwork. After the sale was finalized, the vehicle was damaged while still in the dealership's possession during their cleaning/prep process. The damage was not minor--there were deep gouges, scraping, and a puncture in the bumper. We documented everything with time-stamped photos. Instead of taking responsibility, repairing the damage properly, or offering any form of compensation for the diminished value, the dealership refused to work with us and pushed to completely unwind the deal. We drove over an hour and a half for this purchase, only to have the vehicle damaged after signing and then be told our only option was to return it. This experience raised serious concerns about how issues are handled after a sale is completed. If something goes wrong, do not expect accountability. Make sure you thoroughly inspect your vehicle--even after paperwork is signed--and document everything before leaving the lot. read more

Saw a Durango online while my car was in for service. Called Austin and he made everything run smooth. Wasn't the all day event that I've had in the past which I appreciate because as my time, to me, is valuable. UPDATE................................................................................. As of today May 24th 2025, which is 3 weeks sent I purchased the car, Athens Dodge has not paid off my trade-in. Because of this, my next payment was auto drafted from my account. Granted, I should have been looking at the account before then but I felt that this dealership was reputable. Unfortunately, it appears I have been deceived by someone or there has been a complete failure on the part of the dealership. Either way, I am out $800 until they can figure out what happened. It's unacceptable and I expected more from the dealership since they have had my business for a while. I hope I can update this to something positive at some point but I have a feeling this is the start of a long and drawn out process. Update********* Today is May 27th. Was called back and told that Emily, the office manager, has said there is nothing they can do. That I have to wait until my bank refunds the money. Emily who has made this decision has still not reached out. She has put other people out there to do her dirty work. Funny how they can sell you a car, take your money quickly but your not important after that. She's clearly out to make that money and doesn't seem to care after that. I will say Oliver and Austin have been open and called me back but as for the dealership, I think if it were me, id push my business elsewhere. I would not recommend doing business in any capacity with this dealership. My experience was prolonged and frustrating, marked by repeated communication failures, unresolved issues, and broken promises. I received very little proactive communication, with most communication being initiated by me. Over 80 days of dealing with this issue, I am left questioning both the dealership's integrity and commitment to their customer, and the reliability of the vehicle I purchased. Below is the timeline of my experience for future customers to decide for themselves. All missing dates reflect no communication from the dealership. 07/12 - Purchased a Certified Pre-Owned 2021 Dodge Durango. Within five miles, a UConnect error appeared. Key fob wasn't detected, and lift gate and remote start didn't work. Reported issues immediately to Hamilton (salesman) 07/14 - Scheduled service for 07/15. 07/15 - Given a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee loaner. Told Durango would be ready that afternoon, then delayed to 07/16. 07/16 - Initiated contact. Told Durango wouldn't be ready. No timeframe provided. 07/17 - Told "early next week" (07/21-07/25). 07/21 - Delivery attempt failed due to recurring UConnect issue. Hamilton cited "power out", after failing to provide an update after several requests 07/28 - Told parts arrived; estimated delivery 07/30. 07/30 - Asked for update on delivery. Told "Yeah," but vehicle wasn't delivered. 08/04 - Durango delivered. Remote start and lift gate still not fixed. Scheduled pickup for 08/06. 08/06 - UConnect issue reoccurred. Durango was not picked up as previously promised. Told pickup would happen Monday (08/11). 08/08 - Discovered broken passenger seatbelt and plastic pillar trim piece on passenger side. Hamilton confirmed pillar hadn't been replaced after previously telling me it was broke and replaced while in the care of the service department. 08/11 - Durango picked up. Loaner smelled like cigarettes. 08/14 - Requested time frame for repair. Hamilton said Lauren was handling issue. No timeframe provided. 08/15 - Requested timeframe again. Hamilton stated they had no resolution or ETA. 08/18 - Hamilton said UConnect was fixed but Durango was not equipped with remote start. Pillar reportedly fixed. Casey (sales manager) promised to find a comparable Durango, with the features I was originally told this Durango had--never followed up. 08/26 - Hamilton said UConnect was not fixed. No next steps provided. 09/02 - Hamilton said Durango was ready; antenna parts replaced, but still no remote start. Manager Jaymin Harris (General Manager) promised remote start installation. 09/06 - Received vague text about scheduling remote start install from an unknown number. 09/10 - Hamilton said Durango is at "upfitters" in Tucker; delivery expected 09/15 or 09/16. 09/15 - Asked for update. Told "As of now, Wednesday." (09/17) 09/17 - Durango delivered filthy. Passenger seatbelt still faulty. Hamilton said service would reach out. Casey said GM would call next day--did not receive communication from either. 09/22 - Hamilton asked if service contacted me. Lauren Wood (Service Manager) called, discussed pickup logistics, promised follow-up--none received. 09/23 - Jaymin Harris asked me to bring vehicle in. I insisted on pickup. No resolution. Lauren later said service would pick up Durango and deliver loaner on 09/25. 09/25 - Loaner delivered, Durango picked up. Durango had significantly more fuel than the loaner. Lauren later said seatbelt retractor failed and needed replacement. Claimed no link to previously damaged pillar. Confirmed warranty coverage with $100 out of pocket deductible. Parts ordered 09/29 - Seatbelts were fixed. Scheduled delivery for 10/01, then called again to deliver same day. Durango returned with significantly less fuel than when it was picked up. read more

Do you want to pay $1,280 for a tuneup? Yes, you read that right. More than 1.2K for spark plugs and ignition coils replacement. I said no, of course. You can get 6 iridium plugs and 6 coils for $250 total in any auto part store and then just get someone to install them for $300 or $400 tops (maybe much less) and save half the money they're charging. The dealer's diagnosis charge is $175, which is ridiculous too. Every time I had to go to the dealer for something I end up paying a ridiculous amount for whatever. Also every time I go for service they try to push me to fix some other stuff they say needs to be fixed. read more

We have relied on him to maintain our cars that are new and one that is over 10 years old. They've done a good job on both. Sales-We have bought cars here and Johnnie was a great salesman, making the process go without a hitch. Body shop-We had the unfortunate experience of having someone run into the back of our car. The manager of the Body Shop managed to get this fixed to our satisfaction and back to us as quickly as the parts are available. We will continue to buy our cars here and have them serviced here. Took my truck up to Athens Dodge for a simple oil change, tire rotation and multi point inspection. Everything was fine so I thought.... I left the dealership to go get a car wash only to find as I'm drying my truck off that blue liquid was falling from underneath the right side of the passenger side. I immediately took it back up to Athens Dodge and told them that everything had been perfectly fine with my vehicle so far in the time that I've owned it for 7-8 months. It hadn't had any problems until their Tech's touched it. They proceeded to tell me that I brought the truck in broken and it wasn't their fault. It's a pretty weird coincidence that something happened on my first service trip with these guys. Will definitely NOT be back. Avoid taking your vehicle to get worked on at Athens Dodge at all costs. Every ounce of my being believes they created this problem to get money from me.......If the truck was brought in broken, how come they didn't say anything to me about it being broken when I was there the first time getting the oil change?? Blows my mind. Be careful where you take your vehicle because even if they seem professional, they really might not have your best interest. Athens Dodge did not have my best interest. In fact, he allowed me to test drive and keep the jeep at the local park with my kid while he finished my trade-in paperwork. Scam artists! Stay away! Told me it was going to be 180 dollars PER HOUR to diagnose my car (could take 2-3 hours) AND THIS WOULDNT GO TOWARDS REPAIRS. Bald and short service manager is horrendous. I had my car towed to car doctors who diagnosed it in 20 minutes. These people in service are not helpful at all and not friendly. My wife and I drove down to Athens to walk the dog, and on the way back we stopped to take a look at the new Dodge Hornet. I stayed with the dog in the old Hyundai Elantra we use when we go out with the dog, while she went in. She's an American who grew up in Peru and has a slight Spanish accent, and they immediately figured she didn't have the money for the car and were rude and dishonest with her. Terrible dealership that ripped a MILITARY FAMILY off. Purchased a used Jeep Wrangler, and days after taking it home (4 hours away), discovered a leak in the door seal...seemed like a small issue. After brining to our local Jeep dealership, they advised that this Jeep had been T-boned and showed me how the frame was bent, and how that effected the door, hence the leaking seal. After contacting "Johnny" and their GM, David Debracka, no response or call backs after several inquiries made. Such an unfortunate lesson made when purchasing a used vehicle as the first new car for our SON----dissapointed that what was supposed to be such a happy event turned out to be so incredibly disgusting and ugly. John Tiner is the man! I have dealt with this dealership for many years and have now purchased at least 5 vehicles from them, I have lost count. I have gone there knowing I will purchase a vehicle, I have gone there just to look because I was passing by and I have stopped thinking who knows maybe I will see something I have to have. Each time I felt no pressure and most times left without purchasing a vehicle and still had a pleasant exchange with the salesman when leaving. This particular time my wife and I stopped to look at Gladiators and we met with John Tiner. I test drove a base model which prompted me to test drive a model with more options. Still no pressure from John, no pointing me in one direction or the other, he was just there to answer all my questions. I decided on the model with more options and thought I may be in for a long painful negotiation and paperwork process. It was long as it always is but not painful and this was at the end of the day so John was in for some overtime and there was no outward appearance of it bothering him. He was with us right up to transferring all of my stuff from the old vehicle to the new and then helped me link my phone to the vehicle. This is the worst place to get service. They over promise and under deliver. I was told that I could have my vehicle towed and have it looked at the next day. I am going on day 4 and still nothing. They do not follow up till the end of day to tell you that your vehicle still isn't ready. I have called the Service Manager, the GM and the Service rep Bill whom was very rude. When I tried to explain it was better to be told upfront that they are way understaffed and couldn't get to it than to be lied to. He was very rude and hung up on me. I have yet to get a call back from the service manager or the GM. I have purchased two vehicles from this place and can't even get a loaner vehicle. SERVICE SUCKS HERE!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't take your vehicles there. They also supposedly replaced my spark plugs during my 100k service but Bill told me i needed them replaced on this visit. After contacting them they told me the parts they sent will still fit my car despite not being the parts I ordered. I was then told the parts I ordered for a 2017 vehicle were no long available, which is ridiculous. I returned the parts, no refund was given. I disputed the charges. Ugh 3 months later I'm still trying to get my money back. Beware DO NOT BUY parts from them online. Athens Dodge has horrible customer service and is a fraudulent business. I came in to the collision center to have my car worked on after I had gotten an accident( 6 months ago) I spent six months trying to get in contact with my insurance adjuster who was just messing around. I called Down here and was helped by Jody , Jody handle everything from the a car rental, to handling the insurance company and kept me updated on my cars progress! And pleasantly surprised to see my car, not only in great condition ( body work) but cleaned ( interior and exterior) All finished with in four days time! I will give the full story.. but short is - AVOID this spot at all cost, and read these reviews, tons of the 5 stars seem very fake from profiles with only 1 or 2 reviews. Then look at responses to the low stars, several times the business responder threatens legal action, instead of trying to fix the customer service issue....... that should speak volumes to you on the type owner that runs this place. Long: I started emailing this dealership in early June looking for a brand new 2021 Dodge Daytona, I had very very specific needs, I knew the exact model and packages I wanted. This salesman/dealership literally just had to be honest and attentive, they were neither. However this car was the only one in the entire south east, and with Dodge back up its estimated 4 or more months to get a car built. I emailed, texted and called my salesman for weeks leading up to the purchase in middle of July. In early July I was told by a neighboring dealership that this dealership got a bad hail damage storm, so to be sure I ask if the vehicle has hail damage. AS soon as I heard this I called the salesman and asked him, he says "No sir, none of the chargers were hit, we had professionals inspect them top to bottom " ... So I said GREAT! I am ready to come buy the vehicle, what do I need to do? He said go ahead and put in the application so they know I am serious, so I did... I was approved all day long for the vehicle. We set up a scheduled time and day that I made it VERY clear I am 100% buying this car since he told me it was in perfect new condition, no hail damage etc. We made this appointment 2 weeks out - plenty of time to say... clean the car. We show up to appointment time, car is filthy, looks like it has been weeks if not months since last time it was cleaned. I test drove, got smiles immediately, I knew this was the car I have been saving for 4 years to buy!! So we get back to the dealership, I asked him if he would detail the car BEFORE I sign AND take the shipping guards off, he agreed. Pulled the car around got cleaned while we did the contract, before I signed though I wanted to see the car. AND THANK GOD I ASKED.... THERE WAS A MASSIVE scratch on the side, while viewing these scratches on it, my girlfriend looks at the roof and spots HAIL DAMAGE !!! ALL OVER IT ... So the salesman lied multiple times about the damage. We go inside and get the main sales manager to look it all over, I said on the way to the vehicle I wanted the scratches fixed and dents prior to buying it, he said (and I have a witness to ALL this FYI) " well all cars have scratches, I can put more scratches into it if you want??" .. like wait.. WTF the sales manager really just said that to someone buying a new 50k car? wow. So after giving me a hard time, they finally agreed to fix the scratches and hail damage. BUT it was a Saturday, their detail person works a comfy m-f not every day they are open, odd in it self. So they said I had to drive back out on a tuesday, mind you I live 2 hours from this dealership... so its a 4 hour WITHout traffic trip back and forth. 7-17 is when I bought this car. It then took them 3 THREE yes.. THREE tries over a entire month until they gave up and said they can not do a good repair job. While my car sat in their parking lot it also got a door ding, I didn't even try to get fixed there because the mess of just buying a new car that I was lied to about almost every step of the way. Once I submitted the Dodge survey and gave them low but better than they deserved scores, they just stopped trying to work with or even help me. I ended up talking to the GM himself who straight admitted they can not do perfectionist level aka dealer level aka new level repair work... So they told me to go find a place and they will just pay that place to do the repair job.. That in itself should scare you away from this place. I don't usually leave reviews but because I spent so much money at the dealership I felt like I needed to. I bought a 4Runner online from them. They sent me pics but conveniently left out the fact that there was a big stain mark on the interior roof, burn marks on the center console, and a huge scratch along passenger door. When I asked the manager about them all he says is that he was unaware of those issues. Not sure where the dishonesty lies, with the salesperson or the manager but seems like they' were more than willing to sell me this car and hiding the flaws that came with it. I brought my Jeep here to be serviced and pretty sure they didn't even service my Jeep. I recommend not bringing your vehicles here because they don't care about your vehicle and performing the service you are paying for. They did NOT top off my fluids & the "window cling" w the mileage and date is wrong. I emailed shortly after about the problem and never received a reply about the fluids not being topped off but noticing the mileage and date is wrong makes me think my oil was definately not changed. read more

That is if you ever get to someone on the phone because it took us about a dozen voicemails to finally get through to anyone. Had a great experience that started out a little rough. But I am a patient woman and they were fantastic. I have a 2003 TJ that needed a new soft top. Could I have done it myself? Maybe. I had bought it back in December so no emergency. I have one day off and my kids started high school the next day. I needed my car back by end of day. They got it installed before I even expected. Mike was THE BEST and I don't know who the technician was but my new soft top was installed perfectly. Mike is the best! And so is whomever installed the top. Will go back!!! read more
