They will tell you they have identified the problem with your car and how to solve it, yet after they have implemented their solution they will inform you it did not solve the problem but they will still charge you for it. You still need your car repaired so now you are trapped, next they will pacify you by assuring you this time they have definitely identified the problem and how to solve it, so you give them the go ahead and cross your fingers. A few days later you will receive another call informing you their new solution did not solve the problem either but they will still charge you for that too. They will drag this process out for weeks and squeeze you for 5 to 10 times the amount of their original quote. I am not the only person to have this experience with Japanese Motor Works, they are notorious for it, ask around and see for yourself. You would think they would notice the lack of repeat customers and see it as a sign they might not be doing good business. Charging people for something that does not work should be illegal. What a pathetic way to make a living.

They could easily have parked my car in their parking lot until Thursday (or better yet Friday) and charged a little over the estimate- but they didn't. Why not? I think it's because they are honest. I came in needing a replacement battery and they charged me $70 for a simple diagnostic test that is commonly $40 anywhere else. They then proceeded to falsely diagnose my car saying the alternator as well as the battery needed to be replaced and that it would be a massive $1700 bill. I declined and asked to just get the battery replaced as needed and they tried to charge me $560 to just put in a new battery that would be cerca $250. I left and got a second opinion where I was confirmed everything was fine and the battery just needed to be replaced at a much more reasonable price at express oil change and tire engineers down the road. DO NOT GO HERE if you're a college student as they will try to rip you off.
