I had to get my car towed here because I had a flat that couldn't be changed out or repaired because my wheel lock key was damaged badly. I was offered refreshments while I waited. The service advisor who helped me was Lauren. She was really nice and helpful. While the customer service provided by Lauren was great, I'm highly unsatisfied with the actual service provided. They told me the hole in my tire was irreparable and I would need to buy a new tire, but I took it somewhere else to get a second opinion and was told that it actually did look repairable. The mechanics at Heyward Allen didn't even take the tire off the rim to check it out. I would definitely recommend getting a second opinion from other shops before you let Heyward Allen try to charge you for things you might not need. read more

Had a scheduled tire rotation service and waited about an hour before a video sent to my phone saying they found two issues like a nail on my passenger side and can't be patch and requiring a new tire and engine air filter also recommending a replacement but the filter isn't look bad at all. A new tire cost $275.00 and air filter cost $40 plus. I declined to all of these. I took my car into tire dealership and they removed the nail, patch it up with no problem. Made my appointment for 8:15 a few days ago. I get there this morning at the time of my appointment and the guy goes "we don't open until 9". So i ask, "then why was i able to make an appointment at 8:15?" He tells me it was because it was a couple of days ago and people are still snowed in...he was SO unprofessional, and rude. He made me feel like I was the one in fault for not knowing their updated snow hours. They failed to call, email or text me letting me know they were opening later. We had a great sales experience with Trey in November 2023. He wasn't abrupt or pushy. The sales manager didn't budge on the sales price. We have been told "that's the new market". Today was my first experience with the service department. I made an appointment for an oil change and waited over two hours after checking in. Every customer in the service area has been strongly encouraged to make additional repairs or purchases. It's very obvious they are overselling services. Our story begins with THREE years ago we called and left numerous messages for ANY sales person to return our call as we were trying to purchase a car for our daughter LOCALLY. After a week of unanswered calls and voice mail messages, we finally ended up purchasing TWO cars from Toyota Mall of Georgia as they were responsive and excited to have our business. Heyward Allen was never heard from. Ever. We recently decided to give Heyward Allen another chance. This time in the Service Department - by switching my Lexus servicing from Hennessy Lexus of Gwinnett to them. Makes sense - instead of driving an hour to have my car serviced, we could drive 7 minutes! Today I had a scheduled maintenance appointment for 9:30 AM and left my Lexus with them at 9:45 because the line of cars was so long. *This should have been my first red flag.... We called at 12:30 to check on the status only to find out they hadn't even begun the servicing yet. They hadn't even bothered to tell us about this 3 hour delay! Luckily, we weren't sitting in the waiting area... What is the point of making an appointment when they stack dozens upon dozens of cars at the same time? It makes no sense! I never leave reviews, good or bad. But I can tell you this - they have RAVE 5 star reviews all over the internet and I honestly don't get it! It must be the small town living - a big fish in a small pond sort of thing.... Anyways, I'm rolling back to Hennessy Lexus of Gwinnett where - when you make an appointment - they honor your time. I had a Great Experience with Cassandra and Weldon my two sales persons. BUT, It all went DOWN hill when the Finance Guy, Mario Gutierrez LIED to me. I clearly told him I did not want to buy any warranties. He told me, He "GIVES" everyone that puts a Large Down Payment "GAP INSURANCE". DO NOT TRUST THE FINANCE DEPT. I sent a complaint email to the CEO and General Manager and Got my $287.83 back for a WORTHLESS "GAP INSURANCE" $287.83 was never mentioned to me, when I looked at the next day (they rush you thru at 7 pm cause they close early) One Year Gap Insurance for only $5,000 for 12 months only (RIP OFF), that is $23.98 per month for Only $5000 insurance if you wreck and have a Gap. There were other options, but he said he "GIVES" it to you. He also put a fake phone number for World Omni Finance on the form as well. I am sure they do this to other people. He tried to scare me about the "hybrid" cost to replace and he tried to sell me an additional cost. Toyota's have Great Hybrids and the Worse Part of buying a car is the finance Dept. I worked with Brett and had an amazing experience. As a young female, when I was shopping around for estimates on new tires they were always on the high end for their "cheapest option". I ended up deciding to go to the dealership because they had similar prices and included free rotations for life. I also booked a certain brand since they were running an October special. Brett noticed I had scheduled service outside the date that the brand was running their special. He immediately called me to reschedule my appointment so I was still eligible for the deal. He also worked with me to find a tire more compatible to my car's weight and how much driving I did that ended up being cheaper than the option I found on my own. He walked me through every step of the process, explained my options thoroughly, and followed up with me when he noticed my car needed extra service. His hard work and kindness guarantee I will be coming back to the dealership for future services. I've never bought a car from there so I can't speak to the sales experience, but the service center is terrible. We took our 2012 Highlander there for 6 years for regular maintenance and oil changes. All of a sudden after 6 years of regular maintenance they charge us for a spark plug repair that turns into a 10k dollar total engine repair. I have a 2009 Subaru Outback I get serviced next door that runs great and never has had any problems. This weekend I'll be taking my wife to the Subaru dealership next door to buy an Ascent. Went in to buy a Tacoma. Walked around for no less than 15 minutes and was about to leave and finally had a salesperson casually ask if she could help. Then she proceeded to ask us to stand there and wait while she finished up an email before helping us. We wound up spending 2.5-3 hours there without buying anything. Absolutely no negotiating was accepted. We expressed that we wanted to keep our money local rather than heading to Atlanta to seek a better deal. We didn't even test drive a vehicle. Kept encouraging us to buy new rather than a 1-2 year old used vehicle. Wound up buying from a dealership in Atlanta a Tacoma that was 1 year old with less than 5K miles for the same price or slightly cheaper than one that had 60K miles and was 3 years old at Heyward Allen. I guess they just think they have the market cornered in Athens and can charge what they want being the only Toyota dealer in the area. Seemed kind of greedy to me. Took my business elsewhere as a result. I'm guessing I'll take my truck there for recall services, if needed. A great experience overall. I never fully trusted any mechanics in Athens when I had a bad experience with the only two non dealer mechanic in town Precision Tune and Express Oil with my Acura. Most of the time I would drive back to Gwinnett to have it done since there's more competitors and the prices are definitely lower. Now i drive a toyota that was purchased at Atlanta Toyota but typically when i drive back there I'm not servicing my car. This toyota dealer surprised me with how professional and great their customer services were. they were gonna charge me $76 for my oil change, and I called Atlanta and they said their everyday price for the same service was only $45. For me, buying a car is sort of like a plane ride to a vacation spot. In other words, the plane ride is never fun but once you're there, you can relax and enjoy yourself. I have to say, however, problems with our recent car purchase from Heyward-Allen were entirely my own making. A lot of people seem to have bad reviews of the service department, but I have had great experiences. I've always been a Corolla owner. I had a manual 2005, and now I have an automatic 2015. My 2005's belt snapped a couple of years ago. I took it here with a friend following behind me, and they replaced it the next day, no problem. They didn't try to inspect or sell me anything. I've had my 2015 Corolla's oil changed here twice. Both times I told them I had a ToyotaGuard package on my car put on by the previous owner, which entitled me to two free oil changes. They honored that, and both times changed my oil in about 30 mins on two very busy Saturday mornings. They always performed an inspection on my car, and never tried to sell me parts/ tell me anything was wrong. They offered me a complimentary shuttle to UGA's campus both times if I needed to get back there, as well as coffee/refreshments. Although they may be pricey without the ToyotaGuard package, the quality of their service was worth it. Highly recommend! read more

Unfortunately for me, and fortunately for them, they're the only Toyota dealer around. I have left this dealership after routine oil changes with rags under my hood, oil fingerprints all over my dash (they even had to replace my interior driver side mirror because they destroyed it with oil), the oil not being put back in after the oil change. I don't know if these mechanics don't know what they are doing or if they are just sloppy idiots. Yesterday, I went for an oil change, which took me 2 hours! That was with an appointment. It's insane to me how horribly they operate and definitely not a way to make customers happy. They do have complimentary food/drink items. BUT it's probably to get your attention away from the 2 hour wait and shitty service. read more

I would not recommend having your vehicle serviced here. I have been having my car serviced here for 6 years as a loyal customer. I took my 2012 Toyota Highlander in two weeks ago due to check engine light being on. I was charged $288 for a diagnostic check and new spark plugs. After leaving the dealership the check engine light came back on. I called and was told to bring it back in. I took more time out of my day to bring it back. I was told at that visit that the plugs and coil packs were fine, and they could not find the problem. The next day I drove my family to Tybee Island and the driving conditions were even worse. When I got back, I tried to get it seen about immediately and was told they were slammed and could not see me immediately. I scheduled an appointment to have it checked out a 3rd time and was told I needed a new engine that would cost $8000-$10000. I asked to be reimbursed for the $288 repair that did not fix the issue since it wasn't the actual cause of the problem. I was told by an Assistant Service Manager they would not compensate me for the repair. If you are searching for reviews of their service, do not rely on FB or Google reviews. Please go to the BBB to see the complaints and ratings there. I sincerely hope this review prevents others from wasting their time and money at this dealership service center. Lack of respect for individuals - Dealership sold the car we came to look at after calling us 3 times on our hour long drive to tell us they were 1. confirming our appointment, 2. who our sales person was, and 3. salesman himself called us to tell us he would see us shortly. When we arrived in the parking lot (10 minutes prior to our appointment) salesman, Geary, called again (a 4th time) to say the car had just sold...! One hour long wasted drive (2 hour round trip) and a disappointed 15 year-old.. and we were told by the 'manager', Jeff Tallent, that we were, "just mad someone else beat us to the punch". Terrible customer service and horrendously long wait for simple oil change. Even when you have an appointment scheduled for an oil change it always takes 1 hour plus, usually 1 hour and 45 minutes. Service area employees are okay, but salespeople are very unpleasant. I was interested in possibly purchasing a Highlander, but the floor saleswoman was less than enthused to help me and acted like I wanted her to move mountains when asking for a test drive. I will start off by saying I DO NOT OWN A TOYOTA. I just dropped off my sister vehicle for a minor repair. she had called on Monday to make an appointment. The service guy started off by telling me that she didn't have an appointment. I explained right off that I was just dropping it off for her. You can tell that their service guys are paid on commission and are very pushy to sell services. I continued to explain "it's not my car, I am just dropping it off."
