    Small Greek Salad
    Jenn C.

Located INSIDE Sugarloaf Mills Mall, Entrance 4 by the AMC Theater. Literally just inside the main doors. Midevil Times is there as well as a small parking deck. Best way to get to Entrance 4 is off of Duluth Hwy and Sugarloaf Parkway entrance. We've been here before & it was fantastic! Been years!! I was Christmas shopping & immediately got a craving. Called my hubby & told him we are getting this for dinner... I called in a to go order & picked it up. The menu is online; http://athenskouzzina.com I got The Village, dinner with the Gyro meat on top. Hubby got a Sm Greek Salad & Gyro with fries. Everything is fresh, authentic & absolutely mouthwatering delicious! You should hear this man smacking (& he isn't normally a smacker!). $41 for all of this + a good tip!! Eat Well, Friends!!

Today loved one's and I made a callback to one of our favorite places to eat in Lawrenceville and it just so happens to be in the Sugarloaf Mall. We were greeted by a lovely woman in which we would later find out was the owner. Her name was Maria and the only thing better than her and her husband was our server Cathy. They honestly gave us one of the most hospitable environments that we had ever been in. Not only were we treated to some of the finest Greek coffee and baklava we have ever had, all complimentary of course but the owner even served my 4 year old son a slice of delicious pizza. When I dived into the baklava after being told how special the Greek honey was I literally felt like a bumble bee. I will always comeback to this place because of the quality of the food is but most importantly how special they made my family feel.

Mousaka, chicken gyro, pork souvlaki, veggies. This was HUGE

This place has been here forever!!! And it's great that they have been able to hang in there during this pandemic. They are located in the mall near the theaters. Here's the lowdown of our meal: Greek salad that was pretty big for a side but it was loaded with feta cheese. The tomato basil soup was sooo good. We had a cup but really should have gotten a bowl. The Taste of Greece Plate is HUMONGOUS! This is shareable for 3 or even 4 people if you order salads or appetizers. This was a your choice type of dish and we ordered the chicken gyro meat, pork souvlaki, grilled veggies, moussaka, taziki sauce, pita bread. It was really good! If you look around the plate portions. Everything was huge. Great food here.

From the time we walked in to the time we left, it was the best experience! I have never had Greek food before but I am SO happy I did. The waitress did such an amazing job taking care of us and explaining everything to us. The Tzatziki sauce was delicious and so fresh, loved the cucumber flavor in there. I ordered the Pita Pocket with Greek potatoes, FANTASTIC! The flavor was there, the chicken was absolutely amazing and cooked to perfection! I'm so so glad we came into this perfect restaurant! I will be back soon!

Despite the location, this is not your typical mall food. They offer delicious authentic Greek cuisine at a great price with huge portions. I highly recommend the braised lamb shank with orzo, I didn't even need a knife to tear the meat apart because it was so tender. 10/10!

Get tzatziki a lot AND pizza. Best pizza anywhere. We go to Athens Pizza for celebrations. Used to spend summers, sailing in Greece.

Food was perfectly traditional Greek style, unlike the many chains trying to copy it. This is the real thing. George was fantastic.

The service is incredible, and the setting is so calm and welcoming, it's the perfect place to enjoy a meal. The food itself is mind-blowing. How does a place manage to taste better than everything around it while still being healthier? I genuinely don't know! The only thing that contains seed oils are the fries, which are fried in vegetable oil but honestly, fries have to be fried, and it's not bad at all. I also want to give a big thank you to the staff, especially Leah, who took my order. She answered all my questions with a smile and made me feel so welcomed. This place is a solid 11/10 in every way. Highly recommend! I posted a review on Google but had to try yelp too, this place is phenomenal.

Instead, we decided to try somewhere new and headed to Pita Corner in Lawrenceville. I ordered the beef shawarma with falafel. Let's start with the positives. The restaurant was clean, the dining area was well kept, and the restroom was spotless. It looked like it had just been cleaned, which I always appreciate. Now for the food. The beef shawarma had decent flavor, but it was so dry that every bite felt like a workout. The meat clung to the roof of my mouth and my teeth like it had signed a lease there. No amount of chewing seemed to improve the experience. Texture matters just as much as seasoning, and unfortunately, this missed the mark. The falafel ended up being the highlight of the meal. It was flavorful, had a nice texture, and was easily the best thing on the plate. I always like giving new places a chance, but this one just wasn't for me. While I appreciated the cleanliness and friendly environment, the food simply didn't leave me wanting to come back. If you'd like, I can also make it a little sharper and funnier for Yelp while still keeping it professional and believable.

I had a lamb gyro, and my husband had the fish dinner (the fish is tilapia). I have had much better gyros elsewhere. AND when you try to serve my husband a burnt piece of fish - no go. I mean like I thought we mistakenly ordered blackened. I always wonder when someone SERVES you food like that. Did no one else notice that it was burnt? Did they hope we wouldn't notice? Did they REALLY think he was going to eat it that way without saying anything? My ONE question (ALL the time): "If you wouldn't eat it, why would you serve/sell it to someone else?" I usually get a blank stare because, at that point, there isn't a good answer. Yes, we had them remake it. The cook argued a bit with the girl at the counter about remaking it too. He lost. Oh - and part of the problem was that the cook's "crew" was hanging out in the dining room - their shifts were over but that didn't stop them from being a distraction and going in and out of the kitchen (Tazikis has an open kitchen area - visible from dining). Pic of the fish. (Again, this is supposed to be grilled NOT blackened). Already on the lookout for a better Greek restaurant in the area. Probably won't be our go-to anymore.

Today, I decided to try the new salmon and strawberry option, and I also introduced my partner to Cava for the first time. I ordered the salmon bowl, and she ordered a grilled chicken bowl. She picked up the order, and when I opened mine, I immediately noticed that the portion was significantly smaller than what I usually receive. The bowl was not even half full--there was very little rice and only a small amount of spinach (honestly, I could count the leaves). I called the resturant a few times and did not get an answer. The message advised me to send a message to support. Not sure if anyone will ever get back to me. I tried to dial the restuarant again and finally someone picked up. The person on the other end did not sound that interested in hearing about the experience and I was in no way rude about it. He said that they were instructing their staff to adhear to the correct portion size. Does this mean the dish would be cut in half? If so, it is no longer worth the money. And how disappointed I was to rave about a place and finally get my partner to try it on the day they were cutting portions in half. Overall, this was disappointing and did not feel worth the price I paid.I attached a pick but it was after I added the dressing. But it definately depics the way I got it. Kenya
