The Athens Platter with lamb , chicken and potato. And pizza.

I've been to this restaurant twice. The food is really good. I really loved the platter that I had with lamb and chicken. The lemon potatoes were so good as well and different from the norm. The pizza was also good and delicious crust.

Located INSIDE Sugarloaf Mills Mall, Entrance 4 by the AMC Theater. Literally just inside the main doors. Midevil Times is there as well as a small parking deck. Best way to get to Entrance 4 is off of Duluth Hwy and Sugarloaf Parkway entrance. We've been here before & it was fantastic! Been years!! I was Christmas shopping & immediately got a craving. Called my hubby & told him we are getting this for dinner... I called in a to go order & picked it up. The menu is online; http://athenskouzzina.com I got The Village, dinner with the Gyro meat on top. Hubby got a Sm Greek Salad & Gyro with fries. Everything is fresh, authentic & absolutely mouthwatering delicious! You should hear this man smacking (& he isn't normally a smacker!). $41 for all of this + a good tip!! Eat Well, Friends!!

Today loved one's and I made a callback to one of our favorite places to eat in Lawrenceville and it just so happens to be in the Sugarloaf Mall. We were greeted by a lovely woman in which we would later find out was the owner. Her name was Maria and the only thing better than her and her husband was our server Cathy. They honestly gave us one of the most hospitable environments that we had ever been in. Not only were we treated to some of the finest Greek coffee and baklava we have ever had, all complimentary of course but the owner even served my 4 year old son a slice of delicious pizza. When I dived into the baklava after being told how special the Greek honey was I literally felt like a bumble bee. I will always comeback to this place because of the quality of the food is but most importantly how special they made my family feel.

Mousaka, chicken gyro, pork souvlaki, veggies. This was HUGE

This place has been here forever!!! And it's great that they have been able to hang in there during this pandemic. They are located in the mall near the theaters. Here's the lowdown of our meal: Greek salad that was pretty big for a side but it was loaded with feta cheese. The tomato basil soup was sooo good. We had a cup but really should have gotten a bowl. The Taste of Greece Plate is HUMONGOUS! This is shareable for 3 or even 4 people if you order salads or appetizers. This was a your choice type of dish and we ordered the chicken gyro meat, pork souvlaki, grilled veggies, moussaka, taziki sauce, pita bread. It was really good! If you look around the plate portions. Everything was huge. Great food here.

Despite the location, this is not your typical mall food. They offer delicious authentic Greek cuisine at a great price with huge portions. I highly recommend the braised lamb shank with orzo, I didn't even need a knife to tear the meat apart because it was so tender. 10/10!

Get tzatziki a lot AND pizza. Best pizza anywhere. We go to Athens Pizza for celebrations. Used to spend summers, sailing in Greece.

Instead, we decided to try somewhere new and headed to Pita Corner in Lawrenceville. I ordered the beef shawarma with falafel. Let's start with the positives. The restaurant was clean, the dining area was well kept, and the restroom was spotless. It looked like it had just been cleaned, which I always appreciate. Now for the food. The beef shawarma had decent flavor, but it was so dry that every bite felt like a workout. The meat clung to the roof of my mouth and my teeth like it had signed a lease there. No amount of chewing seemed to improve the experience. Texture matters just as much as seasoning, and unfortunately, this missed the mark. The falafel ended up being the highlight of the meal. It was flavorful, had a nice texture, and was easily the best thing on the plate. I always like giving new places a chance, but this one just wasn't for me. While I appreciated the cleanliness and friendly environment, the food simply didn't leave me wanting to come back. If you'd like, I can also make it a little sharper and funnier for Yelp while still keeping it professional and believable.

I gave my honest opinion: Positive: -Beautiful interior with a lot of space for diners -Delicious foods with big proportions -Plenty of parking in a lit plaza Negative: -VERY slow service -Not greeted -No smile -Not very friendly Restaurant opens at 11:30 AM. I got there at 1 PM with my Aunt and there was nobody there. I went to the other side of the restaurant lingering and wondering if we should just go find our seat or stand there. There was another couple that was seated already. A server finally came out to deliver foods, don't even acknowledge us, and after putting her foods down, walked away. I had to stop her and asked if we seat ourselves. No hello, welcome, or anything. She didn't smile and only gestured something and walked away. We were confused and walked back to the other side where a man was at the register finally. We asked him the same thing and he went to go get the server lady. She finally took us to our booth. Again, didn't ask us if it's our first time, if we had any questions, nothing. The didn't let the lack of enthusiasm deter my mood because I am there to try out the foods. It took forever for the server to come back to get our order. Foods did arrived in a reasonable amount of time, big proportions, and everything tasted as good as it looks. Took us 2 hours from beginning to end dining there even though there were only 3 couples eating there, including us, during lunch on a Wednesday. That's how slow service was. I can't even imagine how it'll be during a big crowd on weekend nights. The prices were on the same level as Delbar and Rumi's. However, the other restaurants has top notch service. The service here acts as if we're doing them a favor by paying them for the foods. I will probably not come here again even though it's close to my area. If it still stands by next year, I will probably give them another chance.

Even after reviewing the menu online, the counter-ordering process can feel a bit overwhelming on your first visit, especially since the menu boards don't line up exactly with what's shown online. No worries, though--the staff is very helpful and happy to guide you through their many great options. My tablemates all enjoyed their selections, and I was very pleased with my Gyro Melt Combo. One thing that really stood out to me was how closely my meal matched the online promo photo--always a nice surprise. While I didn't try any desserts, the cakes and sweet treats on display definitely made me second-guess that decision. Looks like I have a good reason to come back.

From the makers who brought you Marietta Diner comes Yeero Village…read more It's a different style of restaurant compared to that of their predecessors that have become Atlanta staples (Cobb County). The ordering style is that of a fast food joint The service is that of your typical restaurant where they bring the food out to you. So the restaurant itself is very hybrid in terms of how they go about their business. This place is well lit, spacious, and homely yet corporate enough to pass as a franchise type joint. Seats roughly 90 people or so between 4 top tables and booths. It's clean, quaint, and with the traditional Greek soundtrack playing the background, they want you to sort of feel like you're looking at the Aegean Sea while a lyre is playing in the background... but really you're looking at Publix so they can only do so much. Let's go with the food... It's Yeero Village. So I had to try the traditional Greek style Gyro. There is something to be said for the attempt at authentic and it seems like they do it right here. The meat isn't the beef/lamb conglomerate we are all used to when we think "gyro". Here, for it to be authentically Greek, the meat is pork based, not beef based which is typical of the Americanized gyro, which is an interesting take. But rest assured, the gyro was flavorful!!! They married the flavors of the meat which was tender as all get out, the tzatziki sauce, and tomatoes all were balanced and intermingled well. And the pita was fluffy The salad was a bit disappointing. The romaine was shredded and you can't really get a good forkful. The dressing was tart. Too many tomatoes. And just three Kalamata olives??? Come on!!! I did opt for the Greek style potatoes which, I'm glad I did because they were cooked in a way that the flavors seemed to be infused into the potatoes which I was a big fan of! I also had to grab their rice pilaf. The rice was pillowy yet had an al dente texture to it that made each forkful all that more enjoyable! All in all, the folks who brought us Marietta Diner definitely had an idea and developed this place nicely! At $14.95 for a gyro combo with a side of your choice plus the aforementioned salad with tax and your choice for a tip, it's a good $16-$17 meal which is comparable to that of fast food or Panera just a few blocks down! Definitely recommend.
