I have never had any better baklava. Have traveled throughout USA and Middle East and can honestly say I have had similar but none that I can recall as being superior to what I discovered in Leominster. I had the worst customer service experience by the owner a short lady with gray hair. The waitress told her I already paid for my food and she said where I could hear her say "it's not my fault" then proceed to throw the food I just ordered in thr trash in my face. My daughter did not get the pizza she paid for out of her own money. Even if there was a simple communication she no matter who was right or wrong that business doesn't vaule the diverse community and the money that we work hard for to support their business. The only similarity between this location and the Central St. location would be the name, that's where the similarities end. The staff at this location is begrudging, rude, and direly lacking in customer service skills and etiquette. I ordered the exact same thing from both locations, and this restaurant's employees had difficulty fulfilling it, despite the signifiant ease of the order. Instead of willingly fixing it, I was met with gossiping and glaring from three employees and no apology. As if that wasn't bad enough, the food itself was unpleasant and a struggle to finish. Just finished eating a couple pieces of pizza from our first time at Athens pizza and I got to say.... Yum. The pizza is delicious. I got half meatball, half pepperoni with spinach all over and I'm one happy lady. My boyfriend got a buffalo chicken calzone and it looks delicious. The prices are very reasonable-- cheaper than most average pizza places. Also, if you decide to eat in, you don't have to worry about a personality lacking, small pizza place. It's very spacious and the decor is very tasteful and warm. We got our food to go but definitely wouldn't have minded staying in for a bite. I definitely recommend everyone trying this pizza place. First time at this place was the last. We ordered one pizza over the phone, went to pick it up, paid for it, and was told it would be a short wait. I sat in plain view the 7 or 8 employees, and waited 20-30 minutes while orders came and went. I then had to forcefully ask where my order was, which is stupid. Who wants to get mad in a pizza place? Not me. Clearly, no one was in charge. My pizza hadn't even been prepared, let alone cooked. They then claimed to have refunded my card, which was untrue. No refund. The food was not at all worth the hassle. Greek pizza can be a lot better. There are plenty of places to eat in the area. I suggest avoiding this side show. read more

But I am going to have to give this place a break. I don't know what's going on but the quality and customer service is decreasing . First incident I ordered a chicken stir fry sub . It should have been served hot especially since i was dinning in but it was cold and stale. And tonight I called to place an order for a broccoli and chicken calzone and was told they can not make it. I asked the worker if she was sure multiple times and she said yes only on pizzas without even checking with anyone . I know she was wrong because I've had this calzone multiple times and on the menu it states you can create your own . Our family's go-to place for take-out, especially the pizza. The owner (Mike) always recognizes us and goes out of his way to be friendly to my son, which I think is really nice. Great local pizza place. Pizza is tasty and inexpensive. Chicken parm dinner is an actual chicken cutlet, not a fried chicken patties like a lot of pizza places do it. If you want to eat in, they have beer on tap, and a TV on one side, and quiet dining on the other. read more

I go here regularly and this is the worst experience I have had there. I stood next to my wife while she gave the order, which was read back. When I got there the order was short a pizza, and when I pointed this out the staff said the third pizza was not part of the order. They made the missing pizza wrong leaving off a topping. Love the food, they just don't have the best customer service. Made a phone order at 7:07pm and they said 25 minutes. Got there at 7:23 only to find out the order wasn't even started. So I paid and waited 31 minutes for the food to be ready. When they called me up, I got a very rude "Did you pay?!?!". No apology for making me wait for their mistake. Me and my boyfriend went here for a long time and the lady at the counter was rude when asking me what was on my pizza. She didn't think one of us spoke Spanish and under her breath in Spanish said And I quote " I'll just charge you more for less". I grew up in Leominster and Athens is by far my favorite place in the city for Pizza. I can't tell you what it is exactly that makes the pizza so good, but something about it just separates it from other pizza places in the area. The sauce is good, a little bit sweet but not too sweet at the same time, and the cheese and crust are just as tasty. Although I love the pizza, the thing that always keeps me coming back to Athens are the calzones. The best calzone I've had hands down. The ricotta in the cheese mixture makes a world of difference. Also if you are in the mood for a sandwich you can't go wrong with the chicken parm sub. The only reason I don't give them 5 stars is because once and a while the service can be a little slow, but usually they are pretty good about getting you you're food relatively quickly read more

I couldn't find a current menu online so I had to ask a few questions. The manager took our call. Very friendly, helped me order what I wanted. We had a gluten free pizza and the Athenian. Both were great. Also, the antipasto salad was great with very fresh ingredients. Plenty of food. Prices were very reasonable. Still looking for great NY style pizza. Absolutely the Best Pizza in the area! Delicious grinders that are actually loaded with whatever you order (not just a lot of bread and a couple slices of meat!) The salds are large and very fresh. I work in the area and my co-workers and I are always looking for salads. Athens is by far the BEST ones we have had. Fresh greens, fresh vegetables, homemade croutons. The grilled chicken is perfect! I think their Caesar dressing might be homemade? Everywhere I go for a salad, it comes with pita. Athens gives you this incredible pita that has to be homemade it's crispy but soft and crewing and covered in the best seasoned cheeses. Delivery is very quick. Prices are on point too.
