They called several times to confirm certain details about a procedure for my child (same conversation several times) so obviously they are not updating their notes and not communicating with each other. There was terrible traffic because of that hotel construction that we had no idea about in downtown Athens so we were running late and they called us five minutes after we were scheduled, I said we were close they said OK. We arrived at 18 after and the receptionist said with a tone, "well... The doctor probably won't be able to see you because we have a 15 minute window." I said "can you check and see I'm sorry there was construction traffic we didn't know about." The receptionist said "yeah well... I already did and they're not gonna do it. We're gonna have to reschedule." I said no thanks. If we would have run from the parking lot to the receptionist desk we probably would have been there right at 15 after. So ridiculous. So I said no thanks. We will find a new dentist.

I wish I would've read all these reviews (Google etc) before going here. The only reason I did was…read morebecause the dentist that I REALLY wanted (and still do) is Dr. Greg Ware. Dr.Ware is HANDS DOWN the BEST, and a good person all around. Authentic. Unfortunately its too far from where I live. 2 issues: 1. The front office staff is beyond terrible. Rude, ignores patient needs, whispering (about patients) argumentative, disruptive (office manager eavesdrops on conversations, interrupts patients when talking, at times won't allow employees to speak for themselves always needs to be in control. This behavior is very noticeable and if I notice it I'm sure some of the employees do as well. 2. Expensive. After reading other relevant reviews, I'm concerned that they may be recommending unnecessary procedures. I'm going to compare my treatment plans from LifePoint Dental to my new one from my new dentist. Why is LifePoint Dental not accredited (BBB)?

However I when I got there, they said that they were just going to take X-rays, and talk about what work I needed to have done. And that my next appointment would be a cleaning. They told me that I had bone loss. Also I needed a crown for a back molar. News to me. Then we discussed Invisalign. When I went to the front desk to make a cleaning appointment, a young woman asked if I wanted estimates of the Invisalign and crown. I said just the crown. Then she stated let's go ahead and schedule that. I replied let's schedule the cleaning, and I'll get back with you on the crown. I went home, and researched other local dental offices, and made an appointment with a different one. BTW- the new dental office said that I don't exhibit any signs of bone loss, and a crown right now isn't necessary. Lifepoint seems to be commission driven in pushing so many services and multiple appointments.

The dental hygienists are top-notch, and the staff are always kind, friendly, and efficient. My two little boys had their first dental experiences here, and the dentists put them at ease and they both had good experiences and were excited to receive their balloons. My favorite thing about this practice is that they are receptive to your discomfort and if something isn't quite right, they will correct it right away. I also love how Dr. McRae's practice makes a point to give back to the community. I would highly recommend this practice.

Offering discounts for reviews is already questionable--but using that to offset unnecessary dental work is a major red flag. I got a second opinion from my regular dentist over Christmas break and was told I have zero cavities. There is no reasonable explanation for that kind of discrepancy. Being told I needed extensive dental work that I did not actually need is extremely concerning and unacceptable. I would strongly urge anyone considering this office to be very cautious. Do not agree to treatment without getting a second opinion. No patient should feel pressured into procedures or be incentivized to leave reviews in exchange for discounts.

But the staff at this practice is so incredibly personable, professional and pleasant you can't help but feel like they're extended family! Dr Alla Brown is the perfect combination of technical dental skills AND artistry with her cosmetic procedures. She explains all the procedures clearly, their benefits and drawbacks as well as the costs. When my decade old implant started failing, she noticed it and referred me to the best dental surgeon in the area. She also makes it a point to match your teeth shade color perfectly- giving you the very best in a movie star smile. If you are considering any type of dental cosmetic procedure, she is the dentist to see north of Jimmy Carter Blvd! Dr Brown is very friendly and her office is modern and nicely decorated. It is a very nice place to come and get your teeth up to speed. Can't say enough nice things about this practice, this dentist or this staff.

Let me start by saying that this review has nothing to do with the Doctor that was treating me, my…read moreshort experience with Dr. Fabiola Palacios was amazing, she's very professional and very thorough. She was able to effectively find and treat a problem in one of my molars. My review has more to do with the office policies and the staff. So, I went for my first appointment and I was very happy, then I was referred to an endodontist and he was also very professional. I was scheduled with Gwinnett Family Dentistry (GFD) for a second appointment to finally get a crown in my molar, so they call me (GFD) and schedule my appointment, very nice lady, never mentioned any of their policies regarding changes or cancellations. On a Thursday, i receive a confirmation call from GFD and again, the nice lady never mentioned any of their policies or how long the procedure will take. So I confirm that I'm attending to my appointment, thinking that the procedure will take about an hour like in my first appointment, but what do I know??.. I'm just the patient who's never ever had a crown treatment before. So I call the day of my appointment, which was Monday, around 7:30-ish... I get Ingrid on the phone and I ask her how long is the treatment going to take? and she says "2 hours", and obviously I had no idea of the length because I was never informed. So I panic and I tell her that I can't make it because of work, I didn't know it would take 2 hours, and I have to reschedule..... I understand that I'm calling at the last minute, BUT.. Aren't they (GFD) supposed to inform you of these details before your actual appointment?? Anyways, she tells me there is a cancellation fee, and I tell her that I'm NOT cancelling, I'm rescheduling because I was not informed that the procedure would take that long. So she insists that is the same because is in the same day, less than 48 hours before my appointment. I get very upset, and I tell her that if they charge me a cancellation fee I will go to another dentists, obviously Ingrid doesn't care. She tell me that the administrator will be at their office the next day and she will call me... After a few minutes I call back and ask Ingrid how much the cancellation fee is?.... And her answer????.... " I don't know, the admin will call you tomorrow"... that never happened.... A week after, I receive a bill from them, it's only for $15, the original amount was $50 but after some credit they made I only "have" to pay $15, NOT my point... So my problem is..... Ingrid, works in that office, SHE tells me about the cancellation fee, but she doesn't know the amount.... So, how am I supposed to know about their policies if they never ever EVER mentioned them to me, the policies are not in their website and I was never informed by any of their staff, not when I scheduled my appointment and not when the nice lady called me to confirm my appointment.... But I have to know them????? Can someone please tell me what is the logic here????

I went for a cleaning and was very anxious. The hygienist kept talking, and I told her I was not able to talk at the time. She did the cleaning, then told the dentist I was "Not a right fit", and they told me over text message I would have to find another. I apologized for having a panic attack (I was literally fighting tears during the procedure) and they refused to respond. I can't say what went wrong exactly-I was probably a bit short, but also was trying not to calm down. I had previously told them I wanted to have headphones on during the appointment and the hygienist didn't seem to be happy with that. I'm not sure if they were uncomfortable having someone of a different race, but they seemed to ascribe me to a stereotype rather than ask why I was upset or panicking.
