When we arrived, we noticed they were following Covid guidelines with equipment cleaning and limited capacity. They had all the equipment we needed (power bars, deadlift bars, metal calibrated plates, deadlift platforms, free weights, etc.) Everyone was really friendly to us newcomers as well. Their daily rate was reasonable and I saw their monthly/yearly prices on the wall and it was super reasonable as well. Be sure to check them out if you're interested in powerlifting or just getting into shape!

The one at Great Lakes Crossing is, in my opinion, far superior to the rest. The staff is always super helpful and friendly, the gym is always clean, and they have lots of machines that other local establishments are lacking. I highly recommend this Planet Fitness!

She worked there at 7:00 AM on Sunday, 7/19/2026. She called the Great Lakes Crossing security AND the Auburn Hills Police Department on me, simply because I disputed the amount owed on my account, which was inactive because I had not worked out there in almost a year. I did not use any profanity, I did not scream at her, I did not threaten her, I did not insult her-though she did insult me twice. When you disagree with the amount you owe on any account, naturally there is a disagreement with you and the employee serving you. No big deal. You work it out. 1. I asked to deal speak with a manager or supervisor so that I could deal with someone other than Jazmin. None was on duty. I asked if I could have her supervisor's name so that I could speak to them when they were on duty. Jazmin said she could not give me any name of a supervisor-she said it was company policy. Fine, I tried to remove Jazmin from the equation so that she and I would not go back-and-forth, but was unable to through no fault of my own. 2. Jazmin then called the Auburn Hills Police Department on me and told them over the phone that I was behaving "erratically." No threats from me, non-belligerent, no profanity, no shouting, no disturbance of others using the gym, just me disputing the fact that I was told that I owed a past balance of $236 on a $22 "month-to-month" gym membership that I had not used in almost a year. Even though I was on a "month-to-month contract, Jamzmin told me I was obligated to pay every month, and that fees accrued despite me not using the gym. She said that I had a perpetual contract. 3. I said, "I UNDERSTAND." I PAID the $236- and said, I would dispute the amount later, because I just wanted to workout. I asked Jazmin for a number to customer service so that I could call and dispute the amount on Monday. Jazmin REFUSED to provide me with that information also. Her reasoning? "I don't like the way you're talking to me." I said, fine. I'll just work out and come back on Monday and speak with a supervisor. Jazmin told me, "No. You cannot work out. I don't want you in here and you don't have a membership; it has lapsed and had become inactive." I said, "Fine, can I reactivate the account now so I can workout?" Jazmin once again told me "No! I don't want you in here!" 4. THREE Auburn Hills Police Officers showed up because an almost 60-year-old, non-violent, non-belligerent Black man was disputing how much he owed on an inactive account/membership-which he PAID anyway-and was told that he still could not workout. 5. Fine, I felt that if I just paid $236 dollars and Jazmin refused to renew my membership, I asked for a refund, and I would come back on Monday and renew. Jazmin refused to give me a refund. It's kind of like having your lights shut off because of non-payment of past bills, then when you pay all the past-due amounts, you are told your lights will still not be turned back on because the employee didn't' appreciate the way you talked to them. 6. A police officer spoke with Jazmin and she gave the officer ALL of the information I had asked her for in the very beginning! Contact information to settle our disagreement. Even the police offer said, that Jazmin was, "being difficult." 7. Without a doubt in my mind, JAZMIN would not have called the police on any woman-Black or White- in the exact same situation. Jazmin would not have called the police on an affluent white male in the same situation. Jazmin DID call the police on a non-violent, non-belligerent, nearly 60-year-old, Black male, Kindergarten teacher as if I was a stone-cold thug! Even though I have been a PAID member at Planet Fitness for almost 10 years. Long before Jazmin has worked there. 8. The only white male police officer rudely shouted at me to "Get out!" I will complain to the Auburn Hills Police Department on Monday.

I like that the elevators are close to the reception desk and right in the middle for easy access.

I recently visited a Life Time in Coral Cables while on vacation had an incredible experience. As a…read moreresult of the amazing experience at the Coral Gables location, I decided to make visiting Life Time a monthly occasion for me until I commit to a membership. I visited the Life Time location in Bloomfield, Michigan on Saturday, July 8th for a day of massages and relaxation. A friend purchased massages for us both to enjoy. As I waited on the friend, I inquired on the timing of the massages as I was under the impression massages were 30 mins. As an fyi, timing wasn't an issue and didnt mind that the friend's massage went over time. I only inquired on the timing as I planned to participate in another activity and didn't want to miss the masseuse (Cassie) if I ventured off to do another activity. Cassie was absolutely wonderful by the way. The receptionist at the front desk of the spa (I did not get her name however she has two tone hair that appears to be gray and purple) started to speak to me in slang when answering my question. She stated that my friend booked two sessions and "that's all she can tell me" and "that's all she knows" while throwing up hand gestures. As I tried to explain to her that there is 2 of us and both sessions are 1 of each, she just kept going back and forth with me while speaking in slang and odd hand gestures. I obviously took the way she spoke to me as her having a preconceived notion about me. The woman was aggressive and she refused to speak to me in proper English, yet I observed her behavior before and after the encounter and she miraculously became professional again towards other clients. I feel that her mannerisms towards me were hostile, insulting and felt she was mocking me as I am a woman of color. Cassie (masseuse) took me back after the encounter and I confided in her. She helped me relax and was the best part of this entire ordeal. Also, judging from other reviews on Google, mistreatment due to ethnicity seems to be the norm at this location. I will do everything I can to get the word out about this location and the receptionist I had the displeasure of interacting with. I only wished I would have recorded the incident. Her actions towards me were not only unprovoked, but aggressive, evil and hateful. My friend has been a LifeTime member for years and she introduced me to the gym and I am interested in becoming a member as a result. It saddens me that an employee can practice micro-aggressions on paying customers, member or not. Very disappointing and hurtful to say the least. I only hope the spa employee does not treat any unsuspecting guests the same way. To harbor hatred for a demographic and act on it with aggression is unacceptable especially when this employee represents Life Time as a brand.

The atmosphere provided…read moreby the coaches makes you feel comfortable enough to be yourself, learn about all things fitness and health related, push yourself harder everyday during each workout, and make a few friends along the way. Having a place like Michigan Hy-Fit Athletics is more important than ever with all the craziness going on in the world. You need this place not just for your physical health, but also for your mental health. I have been a member for two months now and I have been blown away by their great customer service, the difficulty of the workouts, the variety of movements during each workout, and the different formats of each workout. It's easy to see that the coaches put a lot of careful consideration into the creation of every workout because the workouts are always challenging and they never get boring. The variation of workouts helps members to focus on all important aspects of fitness, such as muscle endurance, muscle strength, functional movements, speed, agility, quickness, and core strength. You will see a variety of equipment used during workouts, which includes barbells, weighted sandbags, dumbbells, assault bikes, rowers, a pull-up rig, erg bikes, battle ropes, boxes for step-ups and jumping, medicine balls, boxing equipment, jump ropes, kettlebells, etc. The facility is incredibly clean, visually appealing and well-organized. They put in extra hours everyday to make sure that everything is thoroughly sanitized from the floors to the bathrooms to the barbells and all the other equipment. The coaches' extra attention to cleanliness helps members feel safe during this global pandemic. They also have towels and sanitizing spray for members to use to clean their equipment after a workout gets completed. The gym has rich vibrant colors throughout with lot's of impressive wood work. They also have some great motivational quotes on the walls and it's easy to find the equipment you need and put it away when you're done. Keep in mind that they enforce social distancing and require a mask be worn while you are not doing a workout. This means that you will need to wear your mask while entering, leaving and walking around the gym. You work out without a mask on, but you must stay in your allotted workout space while not wearing a mask. They have spaces marked off at several locations in the gym in an effort to keep people from being to close to one another while working out. This also means that class sizes have been reduced and each class typically has a maximum capacity of nine people. There are a variety of times available for classes. Be sure to check the mobile app for their daily schedule and to register for a class before you show up to Michigan Hy-Fit Athletics. On a typical weekday they have bootcamp at 6:30 AM, 8:30 AM, 9:30 AM, 5:00 PM, & 6:00 PM. You can come to open gym, which is usually at 5:30 AM, 7:30 AM, 10:30 AM, 2:30 PM, 3:30 PM, and 7:00 PM on weekdays. They keep competition at a "you versus you" level. There is no unhealthy leaderboard ranking the results of their members. My experience at previous gyms is that leaderboards lead to injuries, drama, anxiety, hatred, anger, and cheating. Come check out Michigan Hy-Fit Athletics and try their amazing approach to fitness and health. See how awesome a gym can be when people check their egos at the door and support one another.
