Fantastic people and very knowledgeable, very skilled trainers!! I showed up after not working out for a couple of years and with a lot of extra weight and not a lot of confidence. I immediately felt so welcomed that my fears and insecurities melted away. Their confidence in their ability to help me reach my capability never waivers and they encourage me every session to just keep going. They design specific workouts - these are not your average run of the mill trainers- a custom meal plan that has me eating a LOT more food than I was, the training sessions are intense (but not overwhelming), and I get a workout plan for days I'm not with them if I want. I mean a reformer class should be done on a reformer. It's a lot money to spend to wind on the mat, lifting weights or on a balance ball. I could do those exercises without paying $35 a class. Not sure what there is to complain about. Plenty of cardio machines (bikes, treadmills, stairmasters) and strength equipment. You'll want to bring your own towel and a padlock if you're going to shower / use the lockers. Not sure if deadlifting or Olympic lifting is allowed, but bench press and squat shouldn't be an issue. More of a laid back atmosphere than what you might find at a typical commercial chain gym, but I honestly prefer it to the "club" vibes at those types of places.

Within a month I've had huge changes in strength level and flexibility. I already do dance and weightlifting, and this was exactly the missing piece I needed. The mindful breathing and relaxation at the start and ending of class is great for busy professionals like me in needing to make time to slow down. All the instructors have been wonderful (JJ, Stephanie, Moriah & Jenn), the studio is so clean and calming, and watching the sunrise through the gorgeous etched windows has been amazing! The healthy smoothies are a delicious treat after class, and I can't wait to try the coffee. I wish I could stay for the upcoming plant exchange! Moriah's Saturday morning class makes you feel so empowered, I would plan my weekend around it because I left feeling so good. This place is a sanctuary from your busy life. Dropped in to a class on a weekday. Was able to sign up and pay online ahead of time, and then I…read morecould see the workout. Luckily it was a wheelhouse workout for me. I showed up ten minutes early- there was plenty of parking. When I walked in, there were members everywhere and no one behind the desk. I saw the iPad and signed myself in. They have some cubbies where I placed my belongings. I started stretching and saw the white board and upcoming activities etc. Soon, the head coach introduced herself to me and it seems she saw my check in earlier. Some of the members said hello and introduced themselves to me. The warmup was group led and was good. We had a strength session and then the WOD. The strength session was fun. Their weights are the really bouncy ones which took some getting used to. There was plenty of space for all of us to feel safe in the workout. They have a varied membership with women, men, kids and young adults. I had a good workout. They put my name on the board. I checked out the merch on my way out- not much there. But I took a selfie and that's good for now. I would come back. There is another CrossFit gym nearby but their drop in fee is $25. At Punta Gorda, it's $20. And now I'm following them on IG.

Recently I had a recurrence of chronic shoulder pain, that originated decades ago due to…read moreimpingement syndrome. Over the past year I had gotten lax about regularly doing stretches and exercises, so the pain returned and was being stubborn despite stretching/exercising. So I needed to fine-tune my exercise routine. I reached out to Fitness Quest via their website to set up a consultation, but never got a response. I called the phone number for the Punta Gorda clinic and was informed that I'd first need to have my physician fax them a prescription for PT. I did so, and informed Fitness Quest (again via their website). Again no response, so I called the Punta Gorda clinic and asked if they'd received my fax. It turns out they did, but since I wasn't in their system they had discarded it. Fortunately it was still in their trash can, so they retrieved it and got me into their system and set up an appointment. The next day I had a very informative and productive consultation with Jason. I'd give them 5 stars if not for the initial communication difficulties, which might reflect some kind of disconnect between the "central office" and the various local clinics.

I find Jason and his staff friendly, knowledgeable and I really liked their approach combining stretching and strengthen exercises to get the range of motion back in my knee. At no point in my treatment did I ever feel it was too aggressive, which I cannot say about other PT organizations. I was extremely happy with Fitness Quest, and would highly recommend them to anyone.
