The amount of negative reviews here is bizarre…read more Dr. Young and his entire staff here are great. Always very friendly and warm to me. The reception staff can seem a bit salty, but they have an incredibly challenging job so cut them a bit of slack! If you are kind to them, they will treat you well. The wait time is never too long. Dr. Young, Leah, and the entire team always listen and treat me with dignity and compassion. I've certainly not been the easiest patient to deal with at times, but their care for me is first rate. I have honestly NEVER had an issue with anything there. Bravo.

When we left the massage parlor we had to get to the other side of a busy highway by going up the stairs, crossing an overhead walkway & down the stairs on the other side of the road. When I took the first step down my left knee popped & pain shot through my leg (so much for an awesome massage). Anyway my knee has been in an up and down cycle. Lately it has been bothering me & creating enough pain to want to go see an orthopedic doctor. I called up Illinois Bone & Joint Institute (IBJI) After talking to my nephew (who use to work for IBJI in Gurnee I called IBJI @ 9am. Amazing I had an appointment @ 10am. This IBJI is located @ 9000 Waukegan Road where ABT use to be located. I scheduled an appointment w/Dr Raab an orthopedic surgeon. Kelly his Nurse Practitioner came in and assessed the situation. They took me in to get an X-ray of my knee & brought me back to the exam room. After waiting for a while Dr Rabb came in examined my leg. After examining my leg he noticed swelling on the knee but and told me there was liquid on my knee joint. He then proceeded to extract the liquid & give me a shot of cortisone which greatly reduced the swelling & pain. I was told to get a knee compression sock which really helps to further stabilize my knee. Both Dr Raab & Kelly were very friendly & personable making the visit more enjoyable. The best part is Dr Raab didn't feel that I needed to have knee surgery yet.

They are probably the kindest, gentleness and loveliest people I have probably had the pleasure of being helped by, if not the best at what they do. I strongly recommend them and I am highly nervous of the medical profession. I was given wonderful and delicate care. Given the severity level of back pain I had experienced for the past 30 years I am very pleased with the results so far. My experience with the staff and Dr. E. was rather different than some of these negative reviews…read more I found them to be as helpful as possible in the process to relieve my pain. After many therapy sessions with several of the therapists my best results came in following their instructions and having Dr. E try a few different procedures to finally gain some relief. The road to recovery is a long one when dealing with therapy for any injury. You must have patients and follow instructions. After going through 4 different doctors and many test procedures at other facilities I gained the best results at PRI.

The Keep You In Pain "Institute"!…read more Dana called me after my terrible first appointment for feedback. The doctor took that feedback personally, and was standoff-ish with me during my next appointment where they asked me to come back. Shannon and the staff there are nice but they don't listen to you and certainly don't care about helping you. Avoid this place at all costs. They call themselves an "institute" but there's no thinking outside of the box. There's no learning here or an openness to do so. Nor is there any adaptation to patients' needs. In particular, younger patients. They mostly seem to "treat" elderly people. They're therapy is mostly the therapists watching you do exercises you could probably do at home. The small bit of hands-on stuff they did wasn't helpful. They will rope you in with false promises then suggest expensive out of pocket treatments like PRPs. They also like to call you incessantly if you don't answer right away instead of just leaving a brief message. If I didn't answer the first 3 times why keep calling and not simply leave a message?! In the end, I wasted a lot of time and money bothering with this place and suggest you not do the same. If you have rare or persistent chronic pain issues you're better off avoiding this place. I'd write more but Yelp doesn't allow you to type that much for reviews.

A childish  display everyone is treated to.  I told him off in front of group of interns that he was arrogant and if he knew what he was doing he would not be afraid to explain.  He continued pompous braying in loud voice & left again never came back.  This is why he's so far behind in appointments doing everything to fake his importance intimidating his paying customers.   He claimed nothing wrong with shoulder just needs sling at his age, refused to look at ER x-rays as useless, showing break.  Next day we cancelled appointment assistant made & were begged not to cancel as he would be sooo mad.  HA what an a**. Went to new North Shore Orthopedics division of IBJI.  Were told Dr so bad he was not invited to transfer to new place with rest.  Found arm broken at shoulder & bone slid up alongside into shoulder bones.  Husband in severe pain over a month, needed large plate.  Why has this fool not been suspended instead of ignored. Told his interns never to act like him no one else has ever done that.  They readily agreed. The famous tortured woman documentary told later how he wanted to remove both her arms & legs! Another specialist said no not at all.  So he removed her toes & part feet.  Had she seen another surgeon like ours, probably would have kept toes.  Why would he be allowed near her life threatening injuries.

I went to see Dr. Williams maybe 6 years ago, before I was even on Yelp. But with a surgeon, I…read moredon't really think the date is that important, so I am doing a bit of a "throwback" review here.! I injured both my wrists during a bad ski lesson. The problem wasn't just the silly exercise that we did all day long.I have over-flexible wrists. My wrists are like a gymnasts, but probably not quite as strong (haha). Anyway, even with their strength, gymnasts, who tend to have overflexible joints, tape their wrists so they don't get tendinitis, which is what happened to me. The tendinitis continued and got worse in cold weather. If caused a lot of weakness. I have small wrists and although they tried to swell, this is limited by my bones. Inside my wrists tissue moved, and my nerves changed position. My hands began to get numb. I had managed to acquire carpal tunnel syndrome. This problem pretty much cut my ski trips to one a year because I was in pain for two months afterward. So, I decided I really needed carpal tunnel surgery, if I was going to keep skiing. It would not fix everything, but I believed it would help me. I had gone to OT and asked for a recommendation for a surgeon. The OT gave me two names and I called Dr. Williams. I had both wrists done separately over the summer. The surgeries went extremely well, and were not that painful. I would say recovery time was pretty minimal. The scarring was also really very minimal. I can see the scar on one side better than the other, but neither is bad. Both are really flat and on the inside of my wrists. The only downside I can see to going to Dr. Williams is that you do have a rather long wait to see him after you arrive at his office. I would say it was about a hour or even a little longer each time I went for an office visit before I saw him. There was a sign in the office saying that they devote time to all the patients, so the wait may be significant. In this case, since he is a surgeon, and not a doctor I would see for years on end, I was OK with it because I felt confident he could help me. Now years later I am much improved. It did take a couple of years before the I saw a large improvement in overall my functioning. My wrists still get weak and occasionally they hurt, like a mild case of tendinitis. However, my hands are no longer numb and I don't get the painful pins and needles that I used to before the before the surgery. The pain doesn't last for months after a week of skiing although I do take anti-inflammatory medication as well. I am very happy I had Dr. Williams as my surgeon and would recommend him to anyone in need of hand/wrist surgery. Just remember to have something to keep you occupied in the waiting room and don't make any other appointments later in the day. :)
