From the beginning, she was compassionate, knowledgeable, and always willing to think outside the box to find treatments and exercises that would help me feel better and continue making progress. She took the time to listen, adjust my treatment based on how I was doing, and encouraged me every step of the way. Thanks to her care, I regained so much mobility and function in my shoulder and felt confident throughout the recovery process. I love the 1-on-1 time and not having to "share" as I had experienced in other places. The only chin scratcher for me didn't actually come from my PT Catrina, but from the owner who popped in (even though the door was closed--sometimes I need to lift my shirt to access certain spots on my back) with a student who was shadowing. I got no heads up, and I wasn't asked if it was ok that she observer my session. I would have happily said yes, but I was more concerned that I wasn't even asked. Unfortunately, my insurance changed, and I was no longer able to continue therapy with her, which genuinely made me sad because I felt I was in such good hands. Dr. Heinrich was recommended to me and after my first experience I was sold. He's extremely personable and cares about getting you back in to performing your sport. Dr. Heinrich is fast too. He moved quick through my exam, but was extremely thorough in explaining my injury and the timeline of my recovery. Milwaukee Orthopedics works with a lot pro athletes in the area and I could tell that Dr. Heinrich is well versed in his field. He's been doing it for a while, so he'll give you the real deal. But then there's the billing people. I paid my bill in full and later got a notice saying I still owed. I figured it was faulty bookkeeping and they would catch it soon. Months later, I got a phone call letting me know this was my last warning before I go to collections. Collections?? For a bill I paid?? I explained that I had paid. So I was told I needed to find copies of my cancelled checks and email them. This was no easy feat since they are all on my bank's website. I found them and emailed the copies. I was told thanks and that their bank made an error. Ok. Good way to pass the buck. Due to that, I will look elsewhere next time I get a random injury.

I will have to wait for two weeks to be evaluated. If you have broken bones - and are in pain - go elsewhere for REAL medical attention. Never again! Worst possible care. They (this is systemic within many Froedtert clinics ) treat everyone like we are all drug addicts. Apparently they don't understand that not giving pain medication when it is truly needed and appropriate ...is as bad as over prescribing or prescribing medication when it isn't needed. They had no answer when I asked what the therapy regimen would be! So I asked around, and was told "John Ash is the only physical therapist I would see in town" - by another medical professional. I was nervous, but started with P.T. First right after surgery. I couldn't have chosen better. Every session helped restore my movement and while they were tiring, they NEVER hurt. I was using my shoulder the first week! I later learned ATI would have just literally handed me a lits of exercises and left me with an "assistant." For the same money! When people talk about how their injuries aren't improving, I give them P.T. First's phone number. If you want personal care, specific to YOUR needs, go here. My shoulder's doing great, and the great treatment from P.T. First is the reason.

Came here for a hip injection (not cool, modern, and groovy but rather anatomically located left…read morepelvis proximal end of my femur) and I was rather anxious having researched the procedure. Of course I also researched the surgeon, one very capable fellow named Dr. Edwards who has an impressive training and experience record. Yes, I have trust issues. He was just the right combination of confidence, respectful bedside manner, and efficacy that made me feel silly when it was over and done with in the blink of an eye. For procedures like this, do not look at the needles, but do be aware of how far away (in surgeon's distances) important nerves are from said needles. The current imaging technology that allows for well guided needle insertion also makes these extremely low risk routine procedures. I'm still talking to myself here. The clinic is clean, the staff is very good, I especially appreciate being treated as if I'm not old and confused when I do provide some evidence that this might be the case. I do not see the need for the physician's assistant, seemed a superfluous extra cost layer but that's American Healthcare. The only complaint I have is a pretty serious one, it's very hard to get in for an appointment in the first place. I was referred 6 weeks before the procedure by my Ascension nurse practitioner (excellent btw, NPs are a better choice for primary care) but I had to call myself. The first four calls didn't get me through a completely non-medical screening agent who was only interested in my financial situation. But also they were all quite incompetent, they could not ascertain, verify that I have Medicare plus supplemental. I do, but since they couldn't substantiate this, they wouldn't make an appointment. I was in considerable discomfort which is why I was persistent, but they clearly do not care about patient pain or health at the entry level. I had to make an appointment with another orthopedic surgeon (another 3 phone calls) who works with Dr. Edwards at another clinic and get referred back to Edwards. All of these phone calls of course have to be while I'm supposed to be working. Then, once scheduled, the surgical clinic has to call and talk to me in person, again while I'm at work and not allowed to take phone calls. It's like the clinic, indeed much of the American healthcare delivery system is stuck in the 20th century for communications technology. Heck, I'm an old man and I learned how to use Google Calendar, Internet messaging, e-mail, and SMS. I know it's possible, my nurse practitioner and her office, and dentist as well can use all of these so communication is quite easy. The getting in part was so unpleasant and inconvenient this might have been a two star review in spite of how adept Dr. Edwards is if it weren't for a single act of respect from the front desk person (I won't name her in case she wasn't supposed to do this) who agreed that the office needs to catch up and move on from late 1900s phone tag. Or maybe I should find my telephone answering machine and hook it back up.
