Two years into retirement the pain had intensified and my mobility was being affected. I was starting to believe my body was beginning to break down and shared that with Dr. Spencer. Dr. Spencer examined me and assessed my hip, back and balance issues. Her diagnosis and treatment plan have improved my mobility and quality of life. Like a fool I stopped going to our previous chiropractor after only a few treatments, so now we're practically starting all over again in correcting the curvature (or lack thereof) of my neck. My husband is seeing Dr Thea for different issues, mainly for his lower back and his shoulders. Though we see her for different reasons, treatment is similar at its core. What we love about this doctor is that she does not only look at your symptoms, she looks at your overall health, your habits, health history, etc. to get a full picture so that she can provide the best possible treatment. She will take all information and your x-rays and will create a treatment plan and information folder for you to take home, she is very thorough and truly cares about her patients' well being. Before treatment my husband gets to use the traction table, however I think that I am getting the better end of the deal.. Rolling table thing which massages my entire back for a few minutes.. where have you been all my life?! I am not sure what this is called, but I need one at home! I have never been adjusted by a more gentle chiropractor, and I love it. She doesn't try to overdo anything, if it doesn't 'go' she will either apply heat, massage a bit, or plan to get it next time. She'll teach you things which you can do at home to help/keep up with treatment at home such as stretches in-between visits. My pain levels have gone down since starting treatment which makes me extremely happy. Because insurances can be limiting and can be cost prohibitive, we just pay out of pocket on a monthly basis. We get unlimited visits per month at a very reasonable price, much less than copays for the same amount of visits (except now the visits aren't limited) - works for me!

I have caught her gossiping negatively with other staff members who, though mostly lovely, seem intimidated and unduly influenced by her military style meanness. There is very little family support at the Waterford facility (grief counseling once a month) and adding an unwelcoming, unkind personality to the mix during an already stressful and surreal experience is too much to deal with. There's a reason for the saying ''one bad apple spoils the bunch.'' She seems to be a ringleader... and her energy is a downer.
