12/20/24 I got my first ever steroid injection in my elbow and I was nervous about getting a shot in that area. The checking in for my appointment was perfect and easy, and the front desk girls were great. Dr Michael Ellenberg explained the process in detail, had great bedside manner, was professional, friendly and very concerned about my elbow pain. I have to give Rehabilitation Physicians a resounding, YES! I have a multiple pain, tingling and numbness issues in the neck, back and leg. I was frustrated with doctors in the past that treated the symptom and not the source. As soon as I had my first appointment with Dr. Kovan, he jump right in and got to work on diagnosing and treatments. I'm not 'out of the woods' yet and my treatments will take some time to complete but I have hope now, and that's very comforting to know you have a great team of physicians on your side. I need to give a shout out to the rest of the friendly and helpful staff at the office, Noor, Dani and Kaylee. They are so sweet and helpful and compassionate. I recommend Dr. Kovan and his team when you think you lost all hope in a solution to your pain, he digs right in and gets right to work. Thanks Doctor! read more

OMGosh....where do I start? At first I saw Dr. Hall in Garden City after my car accident in 2002. She seemed like she wanted to be an advocate for me and my pain and all of the things that happened to me, medically, in that car accident! I went there for a few months, probably about 10-15 visits. I tried to do everything she told me to do and even went to the DMC's Novi, MI Rehab facility for 6 months outpatient program for rehab. It was supposed to help with : pain and injuries and the MTBI that I acquired from that car accident. She ordered all kinds of equipment for me: can opener, 3 proned cane, motorized scooter, walker and much more! She seemed like she was going to help me at first! Suddenly, I don't know WHAT happened ??? But one day I found out that the DMC's rehab program in Novi, MI is for 6 months, whether you get better or not! If you don't do as good as they think you should do; as far as conquering your pain and injuries; then they drop you! I was literally "dropped" from the program and set out to be left in pain forever with no hope of any help whatsoever; if I had left it up to Dr. Hall! She even lied on some of her paperwork to the insurance company and in my records because after finding out that I couldn't trust her, I requested my records! Lo and behold they were riddled with lies and misconceptions and I was really hurt and upset and just frozen with untrust, again! She literally ordered me a motorized scooter to help me because I can not walk far distances. My daughter was a Scottish highland dancer and I didnt' want to miss any of her dancing competitions outside on the fields of the highland games events. Dr. Hall had ordered this for me so I could get out and do the things I used to enjoy doing. She ordered it in May and I receieved it in June on the 23rd in 2003. The letter to my insurance company said this " Mrs. Stewart came to my office for her scheduled appointment, riding on her Pride Sonic Motorized scooter on May 20th, 2003...." It was a blatent lie!!! How can she sleep at night? I was so upset! I did have the receipt for the scooter and wrote her a letter with a copy of the receipt and told her that she lied! I never heard from her again and I never went back to her, obviously! Instead, I went to see a Dr. Owen Perlman at St. Joe's Hospital in Ypsilanti, Michigan and he helped me very much! He was very stern and a great Dr. but also you could feel that outside of his harsh exterior, there is a real man and Dr. inside, who cares about his patients recoveries! I felt cared about and in a "no nonsense" kind of way! Thank goodness I found him and got rid of Dr. Elizabeth Hall!! Why do we have to go through hoops to find a good Dr these days? Why would she lie like that? There was a lawsuit going on and she needed to be truthful and precise! I won the lawsuit anyways, without her help and without her lies hurting me! I am glad that ordeal is over but my physical pain is still with me today 9 yrs later, now! My mental anguish over being treated like that by yet another Dr or medical professional; I will never forget! read more

Couldn't even get past the staff which are not helpful at all. Made an appointment for my husband and while he was in the system, no record of the appointment existed. Did they apologize...a resounding NO! Note to the staff: not everyone is drug addicted, so stop treating everyone like that from the moment they walk through the door. read more

I've seen three physicians in this practice ... Jackson, Kovan, and Nwagu. Dr. Jackson was ok, but clearly totally out of his depth with my case. Fortunately Dr. Kovan took over, and also put me in touch with Dr. Nwagu, who is nothing short of a miracle worker. Now I see both Kovan and Nwagu, and could not be more pleased with the level of coordinated care. Jackson's Schedule is all over the map. He might see me in five minutes one visit, but then I'll wait over an hour the next. Kovan is usually pretty zippy, and I'm in & out rather quickly. Nwagu is almost always running behind because he takes his time making sure every patient gets exactly what's needed. I just turn the light off and take a nap , that way I'm good and relaxed for the treatment. Jackson also messed up some disability paperwork so I lost four months of benefits. Quite frankly, my experience with him made me a bit leery to see others in the practice, but I'm glad I stuck around. If I'd started with Kovan and Nwagu, this review would easily be five stars. Basically they're so good that they bring the review back up to four stars even though Jackson's paperwork issues caused me to lose over $14K income! Clearly this says a lot about Kovan and Nwagu's rock-star abilities. How good is Nwagu? I'm over 50 now, and have suffered right shoulder problems since a car accident in my teens. I've seen over a dozen doctors for this issue since then. Every single one told me what's wrong but no one could help. It was twisted out of place, the muscles adapted to the wrong location, as did my spine and rib cage. Except Nwagu. He fixed it in two visits. T.W.O. Like I said, he's a miracle worker! Anywayz, the practice is big enough that someone there will be able to help if the first person doesn't fit your needs. An earlier reviewer mentioned PT. This practice is now affiliated with Beaumont instead of DMC, and has their own Physical Therapy practice on-site. My review does not include the PT side because I have not used their services. read more

Dr. Chijoke Nwagwu is the finest, most compassionate doctor I have ever encountered in my 59 years. My case is very difficult. I have numerous herniations, stenosis, arthritis, bulging disc. and I also have a diagnosis of Tarlov cyst disease. While it was very hard to treat, he showed perseverance and explored every option available to me. I am no longer with Dr.Nwagwu and I miss him, nurse Doreen, and acupuncturist Theresa Minn with my whole heart. I have not been able to replace them out in the country here in Iowa with anyone that even remotely has skills and professionalism they do. If you get a referral to this doctor, jump on it with both feet. read more

Dr Jackson is the worse medical provider I have ever went to. He is very argumentative and a horrible listener. I work in the medical field and I have never seen a doctor act this unprofessional to any patient. He was disrespectful and truly a horrible so called doctor. I wish I would have done research on this man before I wasted my time. Nobody deserves to be disrespected and aqused of things that couldn't be farther from the truth. This office was recommended to me by someone I trusted but they did see another doctor in this facility. I do not believe his partners know of his behavior to patients or he would not be there anymore. Huge disappointment. read more

I saw Dr. Hyman two years ago for a shoulder issue. He gave me a steroid injection, which did not help at all. Two years later I received a collection notice from a collection agency for a $30 copay. According to the collection agency, the bill was sent to the wrong address four times. No attempt was made to contact me by other means except for one phone call two months ago the Friday afternoon before a holiday weekend. I will never go back to this office. read more
