I had some good therapy, though it didn't help my problem out. The medical records and billing side of things are atrocious and they never actually report that stuff back to the DR's office. My insurance claim got denied because of this. I have only 1 1/2 months left for an insurance appeal since I DID have therapy, but it takes up to 30 BUSINESS DAYS for the records to show up, which is utterly ridiculous. I might end up having to pay out of pocket for an MRI because of ATI. ATI charges slightly over $6 to send medical records, and it takes up to 30 business days?! Give me a break. read more

The people who treated me at the Framingham location was great!!! They really helped me and was attentive to what I needed. Here's where they will loose clients and people who are injured and going through a hard time. I was hit by another vehicle 3 times. I trusted this company to take care of me. Again at the location they were incredible. The problem is their billing. They have a department that deals with car accidents, but to get hold of them is awful!!! I have been calling for 4 weeks in regards to a resolution and my questions to be answered. I get nothing, but a call back and sorry. I do work full-time so it is not convenient for me to continue to talk to DIFFERENT people who say give me a minute or I am transferred that puts me to an answering machine. No-one picks up the phone. I talked to a women today who stated it takes 5-7 business days to get a reply. Yet I talked to a women named Betty on Friday 3/22 (last week) who stated she would call me back on Tuesday 3/26. Here I am on Friday 3/29 giving her more time and no call. Not even an update. By the way I haven't seen them since last July 2018. My review is a thumbs down if you are going through a hard time from a car accident and need to go over your bill. There is no call to the client at anytime from their billing department to give you a heads up in regards to what is going on. This has been the most stressful experience I have ever uncounted. I will continue to spread my disappointment to my co-workers, friends, parents at sports events, and who ever asks about a physical therapy program to go to. read more

They charged my insurance company over $500 a session for elbow tendinitis treatment! A session consisted of 10 minutes of ultrasound, 40 minutes of stretching (stuff I was doing on my own anyway) and 10 minutes of icing. Seriously, that was it. After 3 weeks (7 sessions) and no improvement, I quit. A year later, I received a bill on what what not paid by insurance. Do yourself a favor and avoid this company. You will thank me and countless others who have been ripped off. read more

Having had an unfortunate experience at Athletico on Clark Street (the staff didn't work together, my therapist was more interested in reading "Bride" magazine in apparent preparation for her upcoming wedding (poor fellow), AND there was absolutely no sense of humor by anyone on the staff), this time when I needed physical therapy I was reluctant to start anywhere. Then I saw an article in the Chicago Tribune that named ATI as one of the best places to work. I figured if the workers are happy it would make a difference. It did, big time. What a difference! Everyone there is friendly, cheerful and outgoing. The staff works together, not just with his or her assigned patient. I've had times when there are more therapists that patients there. When this happens the therapists help each other and help each of the patients. Not just one on one here, sometimes two on one, or three on one, even if the therapist just stops by and chats with you while your doing an exercise or in my case a therapist is bending my knee a little further than when I came in. It makes a difference. There's no therapists reading magazines at ATI. If there are patients there, ALL of the staff is on the floor helping out. They all have a great sense of humor and they listen to you. The very friendly cheerful receptionist Mallory (spelling?) takes an interest in everyone there, and is always helpful in making changes to your schedule if that needs to be done. By the way, the therapists aren't a bunch of rah-rah clones. They are a bunch of very competent individuals who are all friendly and compassionate. Going through physical therapy after a bad injury has been very difficult. It's been a lot of work, and it isn't all fun, but working with folks who are cheerfully encouraging - rather than dryly pushing - has made a HUGE difference. Even when I don't want to go, I leave happier, feeling that I've had a good experience and knowing I've done a positive thing. The friendliness is infectious there. I've gotten to know some of the other patients. We've traded stories about why we're there and we encourage each other. It's not the rah-rah of a gym. It's people taking notice of each other, saying hi and being friendly. The only thing that keeps me from making this a 5 star rating is there is no changing room except for the (large, very clean) bathroom. The bathroom is private to ATI, not public, but it would be a bit nicer to have a changing room. I very highly recommend this facility and ALL of the staff. read more

For the past couple of months I have been in physical therapy because of a surgically repaired Patellar tendon. Before the surgery I went to two other physical therapy clinics trying to rehab the injury. Had I come to ATI when I was first injured, I may not have even needed the surgery. Christy is my physical therapist, and she has been everything I could have ever asked for. She is extremely knowledgeable and has kept me informed throughout the entire process. If not for her, I'm not sure how I would have gotten through this injury. All of the people at the Avondale location have made this a very positive experience for me. Kim was my physical therapist, and she was nice, except she didn't really do anything but tell me what to do. No correction of form, tips etc. She would be working with at least 2 people, often more, at the same time so after I finished with an exercise she wouldn't notice and I would just sit there waiting for her to finish up with the other patients. I would have given this place three stars just based and Kim's mediocre performance until I found out this place charges outrageous prices! I was charged close to $400 for 45 minutes of physical therapy and they wanted me to come in 3/week. They charge your insurance if they put a hand on you and call it "manual therapy", meaning that if they rub your back for 3 minutes they can charge your insurance close to $100, and if they do it twice they can charge your insurance around $200. That is in addition to the $200 or so they charge you for doing exercises. They even charged me for a hot pack! I wouldn't have minded so much if I was told in advance, but they don't ask you, they will just say "oh let me rub out your muscles" and rub you back on a table in front of 5 other people in the main room. I only found out about it when I got the bill and called to see why I was charged so much. Seriously 10 minutes at most and they charged around $100 for a back rub. Don't you think they would tell someone that they were charging you for those services, especially at those prices!? That is like getting your hair cut for $50 and them charging an extra $50 because they blew dry your hair. The staff was really friendly, but that doesn't make up for the fact that they charge the highest prices I have ever seen and don't spend much personal time with you. It is crushing to have a serious medical problem and then have a company use that as an excuse to empty your bank account. read more

After a lifetime of chronic back pain, neck issues and most recently knee problems, I've worked with lots of physical therapists and been to lots of PT facilities. Miti Shah and the team at ATI are the best I've experienced and I highly recommend ATI for your PT needs. I chose ATI because of its location, but didn't know anything about it. Well, that was a poor choice. The sessions were for my 13-year old son: the physical therapist spent too much time talking and showing my son what to do on a piece of paper instead of actually doing the exercises with him. There are also a lot of hidden fees: the first session was twice the regular price because it was considered as an "initial evaluation session"...ok... however, after a two-week break, we had to to reopen a new account to keep on with therapy and without warning they charged us the "initial evaluation session" fee again! I went to ATI for physical therapy after a shoulder surgery. My therapy was approved by my insurance and I paid all my deductible payments in a timely manner. One year after my therapy was completed I received a bill for almost $200.00. ATI billing insisted it took that long for the billing process. Their billing department is apparently in complete disarray and I would not trust them, never go there again and not recommend ATI to anyone for that reason. read more

I've been going to ATI for a neck and nerve problem for the last month. I've never been to physical therapy for anything before so I can't compare Avondale ATI to anyplace else, but I think this place is a great choice. The facilities are clean and new, very well maintained and there is easy access to the machines. I feel very comfortable there (and if you've ever had to go to p.t. you know you're there ALL the time so I think this is important.) My therapist is Amber who gives stellar care and is great to chat with to pass the time. She's getting me back in tip-top shape in no time at all. I've also worked with Christy who is also as knowledgeable and as nice as they come. Every person I've encountered there has a great demeanor and is very professional. I met Kim and Angie at the Michigan Ave ATI several years into my struggle to deal with a bum shoulder. I've visited many physical therapists over the years - so I am pretty familiar with your average clinic. Kim runs a top notch operation. In the middle of the PT round at this clinic I suffered a meaningful post-surgical setback. I was scared, depressed, and exceptionally frustrated with the prospect of a non-functional/painful shoulder for the next several years. Kim and Angie handled my mood and frustration perfectly. Upbeat, clinical, and determined to win. Now six months later with a shoulder that has not felt this good in 10 years I am thrilled and grateful for this ATI team's efforts on my behalf. The PT process can be tedious - at least a couple visits a week for a few months repeating the same exercises. I applaud Kim and Angie for being just "chatty" enough to keep the mood fresh and engaged - keep the patients looking forward to the next visit. They are efficient, knowledgeable, and engaged in my recovery. Importantly, the front office is efficient as well. At the start of my PT I asked the front desk to confirm my coverage and out of pocket - they did, in writing. As my PT progressed much longer than expect (due to the post-surgical setback) I inquired on coverage again; this time Kim dove into the records herself to confirm everything for me. I saw a PT at ATI 6 times. The therapy was great, but I was promised that the first session would be without cost, a "survey." I paid for all subsequent visits. Then the office closed and I stopped therapy. I received a bill for the first "free" visit. When I complained, I was brushed off. ATI would not honor the commitment of its office/therapist to provide the first visit free. read more

Was handed off to multiple therapist. I don't believe I had the same one twice in a row. They actually had a student work on me multiple times and charge me the full rate. I am a quiet person and at one time when I didn't respond that I was finished with a exercise I was told that I was Creepy!!! Being an ex-Rugby player, this isn't my first therapy rodeo, but it has been my best therapy experience. I can honestly say that I have fun going to physical therapy. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly, personable and attentive. They push you when you need pushed and know when you need to dial it down a notch. I've been seeing Kim for a ruptured Achilles tendon for the past 2 months and couldn't be more pleased with my results. ATI provides a ride service for patients who have trouble walking or with leg injuries - what a fantastic service for a Physical Therapy office! This is my first yelp review and will probably be the last review I post. I created this account just to let everyone know just how awesome this ATI physical therapy is. I'm a guy in his twenties who works in the medical profession who had a major back surgery. I was scared about coming back to full function and my only wish was to get back to my original active self. Knowing how important physical therapy was to my recovery, It was extremely for me to try to find the right PT place. Obviously most places have the right equipment and people with the knowledge of what you're supposed to do. This place is special because the people here were right for me. As in friendly, caring, social, motivating, and pretty much everything positive. The very first day I met Kim, I knew that i had met the right physical therapist for me. She made sure I understood how I was gonna progress and tailored everything for my physical improvement. As I work in the medical field, I knew what to expect from therapy and Kim not only met these expectations, but exceeded these expectations. Every session, something was added on when I felt strong, things were taken back if I felt a little sore. Every exercise has a purpose and she tailors the program to you. What's best is that she is so friendly, so sociable that as you get to know her, you really click and she becomes part of your team. Don't get me wrong, some of the exercise flat out suck. It's not gonna be fun at times. But Kim's enthusiasm (also Angie and Irina who i'll talk about later) will keep you going. I look forward to every session and really it's because I just have so much fun while I do my exercises. I don't need a drill sergeant. I come in with my own motivation and I just need a teammate on my side. Angie and Irina aren't my primary trainers, but I've worked with them over time as well. They are just as awesome. Angie is so sweet, always smiling and bubbly whether it be in the morning or 7 at night. She works you hard and always keeps you motivated, making sure you're on the right path to recovery. Irina is a riot, in a good way. She makes you laugh, but then tells you to do the exercises that you need to do. Essentially, you'll have an awesome time, but they'll make sure you get worked hard. There have been some other comments raised about money statements. I had similar problem with my initial statement. What people have to realize is that MOST OF THESE PROBLEMS CAN BE FIXED. I contacted Kim and the staff about my statement and they were extremely helpful. They went out of their way to make sure billing fixed what had gone wrong and my statement was renewed. As fun as the therapists are, they are also true professionals who care about the patients and how their health are. They don't just charge random fees or just randomly decide to tag on hundreds of dollars to your statement. It's a medical service and it's a medical billing process and the staff will go out of their way to make sure everything works out and your insurance covers as much as they can get it to. All in all, I could not have asked for a better physical therapy place. Really, everytime I go, I look forward to not only getting worked hard, but also look forward to hanging out with a group of friends. Kim, Angie, and Irina are awesome. They truly care about you, they really care about how you progress, and during all this you have fun with them, bond with them, and have a good time. And now 2.5 months post op from my back surgery, I feel strong and feel like I'm on the right track on getting back to my normal self. This would not have been possible with this ATI location. For anyone who has a physical illness and needs physical therapy, trust me, give this place a call and at least schedule an evaluation visit. You won't regret. read more

I recently had an artificial knee replacement and decided to give the ATI Loop therepy center a try since it was so close to my apartment. I cannot say enough good things about the staff there (Kim, Angie, Irena, Mallory), and especially Kim, who has been my therapist since I started going there. I never realized how important my therapy would be until they started putting me through my workout routines. I am extremely thankful for accidentally bumping into this group and would recommend them to anyone who either lives in the loop, or works downtown. Fantastic people!! read more

Everyone should watch the billing practices at ATI. I am dumfounded at how brazen they are on re-billing you for dates you already paid. I'm sure they will say it is related to timing, but I paid on 10/13 for 2 visits. On 10/26, another bill was generated for the same visits along with 6 other visits. I'm starting to go back through my other invoices and see that they regularly do this every month. Also, i agree with other comments. My visits range substantially and can't understand why. I'm often there by myself doing exercises for about 50 minutes. I maybe talk to Kim or some other assistant for less than 10 minutes. Kim would massage the area injured with little to no pressure. I guess that is the difference of a charge from 293.22 to 390.96 and 416.53? All these visit were exactly the same! How do they substantiate the wide range in charges? read more

I am very happy with my experience here. I have been to several other places (Novacare and Athletico) and this is by far the best. Kim is very knowledgeable and professional and my rehabilitation progressed very fast. Everybody at the clinic was very friendly and collaborated as a team. Irena was very supportive when it came to doing my various exercises. Even the other therapist Christine would correct my form on exercises when Kim stepped away. I felt like everybody was dedicated to my recovery, and it seemed that everybody on the staff had a great rapport going with other patience as well. read more
