But even then he was incapable of correctly ordering a prescription correctly. 2. As a result of my doctor's mistakes I had to keep calling for 3 days to get anyone's attention in order to get premature refills on the now lifelong medication I would be on. You CANNOT get an immediate answer for ANYTHING. You have to go through a voicemail box to talk to anyone and good luck getting a response the same day. The receptionists that are on the phones are the only ones that you can actually talk to and they are not going to be helping you. When I finally got a response it was claimed that they tried contacting me but couldn't get through. Yeah, sure. 3. They are scam artists. They put a boot on my foot without explaining the costs. In fact, the medical assistant explicitly said that insurance would pay for the boot. They charged my insurance $400 for a boot that costs them about $10-$20 tops. In turn my insurance charged me for most of it. In fact the out of pocket cost for this boot was more than my entire visit. When I called their billing to question it, they lied and said there was nothing they could do. As someone who has managed medical billing departments before, there was plenty that they could do, but they just refused. 4. The apathy of this practice towards their patients has made the last few weeks of my life a living hell. He shows you the X-rays , educates you and follows up diligently so you can see what is happening. He is always available to answer all questions. I also had a friend (over 60) who had a complete shoulder replacement. My friend showed me the X-rays and demonstrated how his shoulder works now - truly a miracle! He has completely recovered and has full use of his shoulder so he can do what he wants to do again. He followed through with all physical therapy but attributes the success to Dr. Petruccelli's skill as a surgeon.

When I first visited him, his somewhat brusque nature of engagement took a bit of time to get used to, but frankly given his depth of knowledge and ability to make things right, I am happy to completely ignore it/have gotten used to it. I actually enjoy it these days - there is an embedded dry sense of humor which I find makes me mentally chuckle. Back to his expertise, which is what I am really paying for: His combination of exercises, dry needling and other routines are absolutely on point. When he tells me to start/stop doing something, I know he is right. If I do what he says, I get better. If I don't, it is exactly what he predicts (example, stop a specific kind of exercise or it will continue hurting and yep, he's right. Or, start wearing these sort of shoes and it will improve and yep, he's right, Or, if you don't treat that part with ice for more than 20 minutes you will not heal, and yep, he's right - the list goes on). His dry needling treatments are incredibly effective. I was surprised by how they unlocked muscle pain immediately. I absolutely will recommend him to anyone. I prefer to pay for experts who are really good at their job and he is at the top of the list.
