I can't say enough good things about Physiotherapy Associates and everyone there, especially my…read moretherapist, Koreen. Koreen started there within the last couple months. She is a gifted therapist who has an intuitive understanding of the body. I started PT after a major wreck left me carless and in a lot of pain. I've never done PT before and didnt know what to expect. I haven't been the kind of person who looks forward to working out, but found myself eagerly attending PT a few times a week. You just have to break through that post-workout fatigue of the first 6 weeks. Exercising with pain can be discouraging, but stick with it. After getting past that, I found myself with a higher level of energy that I still have all the time. If something hurts, they don't force you to do it, and they customize your plan every month or so after reevaluating your progress and level of pain. The therapist I had for the first month ended up leaving to continue his education, and even then, if Koreen saw me doing an exercise with bad form, she would come over and show me how to do it correctly. I GREATLY appreciated that she cared enough to help me. She painstakingly explained things to me and answered all my questions. Though I went there for pain, it's unavoidable to not learn about the rest of your body in the process. They left me with a better understanding of core muscles, what muscles being lengthened and shortened can do, an appreciation for exercise, a newfound respect for posture, and most importantly... a big reduction in pain. I felt sad to leave because Koreen and everyone else there have changed my life!

One gets the impression that although there are obviously other patients there, you are the only one that matters at that moment. The attitude is very friendly. At the holiday season. they adopted a family for which patients and staff were invited to buy gifts. Occasionally, some patients brought in cookies. and everyone is welcomed as if they were part of the Physiotherapy family. The staff really knows their stuff , and during my visits, I heard several people express appreciation for good results. I highly recommend this Dunlap facility.

The treatment Dr London gives his patients is rarely seen anymore, he has passion for what he does and it shows!. He answered all of questions and worries. I had a car accident more than 15 years ago and have always had back pain (Dr London's practice is super close to my house, that's the main reason I pick his clinic) not knowing what to expect and ended up being able to get up in the morning without feeling needles on my back. He shows your progress and worries about your comfort, updates on x-rays, etc. Because of my work I didn't make it on 2 appointments, they were understanding. Both him and Tamara are super friendly and personal, I love that! Not feeling like you're just there waiting for your turn. And they have payment plans for all kinds of budgets. Thank you Dr for helping me and educate me about my problem and specially for preventing further issues that could've lead to surgery. Thank you Tamara for always receiving me with a smile and being so understanding.

About this time a year and a half ago, I was limping in (sideways, crooked, and with painful spasms) to West Valley Wellness and Rehab with a bad back. About that time, I was visiting the hospital about once a month due to horrible, debilitating back spasms. My doctors, general practitioner, and a host of other current and potential doctors, surgeons and medical professionals all concluded that I should get used to "Pain Management". For you n00bs, that means ""lots of medicine". And the pharmaceutical companies rejoiced!! Unfortunately, I have a job that requires me to be alert, so that wasn't an option. Rather than mask the pain, I wanted to heal the injury. This is a philosophy shared by West Valley Wellness. What got me interested in West Valley Wellness and Rehab was they have a procedure called "Manipulation Under Anesthesia" (MUA) that I read about and wanted to see if I was a candidate. I qualified, and over several months, this gave me the physical ability to work out and build my core, muscle base and get confidence to get back on my feet for longer periods of time. It didn't hurt, and I have more mobility now than I had when I was 20. Long story short, I came in broken and am now doing great. At West Valley Wellness, not only did I train, but I just ran my first Mud Run with 3 other patients in November 2013 (It was a 5K). When I first arrived, and for years prior to that, I couldn't walk two blocks down my own street. Dr. Jason Nielson - at least in my view - is a true lifesaver and I continue to see him regularly for help with working out, getting "cracked" (adjusted) and when I have trouble with my back. That, and his staff cares. They're friendly. The facility is clean. Out of about 6 places in the West Valley that I've visited, this is the only one that has shown results. I recommend them and .. well, maybe I'll see you there.

I started seeing Dr. Marquard because I found him on the Ehlers-Danlos foundation website. I've…read morebeen seeing the office for about seven months now, and I am extremely pleased with the care that I've received from all of the providers. Because I am a frequent user of the practice's patient portal, I do not mind the $50 administrative fee because I feel it is necessary to balance out the extra work that they have because of the patient portal. For patients with EDS, this office is a godsend as so few doctors acknowledge the disorder, more or much less treat the disorder. I appreciate the added bonus of having in-house counseling and the in-house lab. Every time I go in, I am greeted warmly and well taken care by the administrative staff and medical professionals.

In my opinion, based on my experiences described below, Thunderbird Family Medicine and their…read moreassociated practitioners are UNETHICAL and MONEY GRABBERS. They will hold your refills and lab orders "hostage" to make you come into the clinic so they can charge you another co-pay and bill your insurance for another office visit. Background. I went to the same doctor for almost 20 years. Unfortunately, he had a stroke and could no longer practice medicine. We had a great relationship. Every year, I would faithfully pick up my lab orders, get my labs drawn, then schedule my yearly appointment to discuss the results and make any necessary changes. If something unusual came up mid-year, I would make an appointment to see him. If I needed a specialist, he would recommend a good one. Perhaps I was spoiled with this kind of patient-doctor relationship. When searching for a new primary care doctor, I asked my friends who lived nearby for a referral. Dr. Scott Marquard with Thunderbird Family Medicine received a lukewarm recommendation and had decent reviews, so I decided to give him a try. It turned out to be a BIG mistake.  Red Flag #1. The clinic charges a yearly fee just for the privilege of going to them.  Red Flag #2. On my initial appointment with Dr. Marquard, I brought in my 20 year history printed out for him along with recent lab work. My vitals were taken by the technician and I waited for the doctor. He came in, shook my hand, then we had a ~15 minute discussion, then he shook my hand and left. No look at the eyes, ears, throat. No listen to the lungs or heart. No nerve reflex test. No palpations. Nothing. Only conversation in which we discussed my current prescriptions and an upcoming international trip, among other things. I was told to call in for future prescriptions refills. Red Flag #3. When I called to get my prescriptions renewed, I was told by the front desk that I needed to make an appointment. This was contrary to what we had discussed on my first visit. When I asked the front desk to ask the doctor about it, she confirmed that I needed an appointment. My resolution was to call 98 point 6 (my telephone insurance service) and pay $5 to get my prescriptions renewed (they asked to see my lab work which was current). Red Flag #4. When it was time to get my annual bloodwork done, I called to get a test added to the lab order (I found out about a test that could tell if you had a genetic disposition for blood clots - my dad died of a DVT). I was told by the front desk that I needed to make an appointment. When I asked the front desk to ask the doctor about it, she confirmed that I needed an appointment. My resolution was to skip that test and go ahead and get my blood drawn. Red Flag #5. As my international trip to India and Nepal was getting close, I called to get prescriptions for an anti-nausea and antibiotic "just in case" as we had discussed during the initial meeting. Guess what? I was told by the front desk that I needed to make an appointment. When I asked the front desk to ask the doctor about it, she confirmed that I needed an appointment to discuss CDC guidelines. My resolution was to wait until my annual and visit an expensive travel clinic that would be much more knowledgeable about international travel.  Red Flag # 6. After my annual and after my international trip, I called in to get a prescription refilled. Guess what???  I was told by the front desk that I needed to make an appointment. When I asked the front desk to ask the doctor about it, she confirmed that I needed an appointment. I called again when I was almost out of medication, I told the front desk that the situation was "b*llsh#t", and that I had been in 8 weeks prior and my lab work was only 9 weeks old. She refused to connect me to a doctor, so I tried to use their portal to make the request to the doctor directly. Dr. Marquard told me via the portal that I verbally assaulted the staff and was terminated from the clinic. This was not a huge disappointment as I had already researched, found, and made a future appointment with another primary care doctor.  Note #1. All this occurred in a period of less than 8 months. Note 2. I saw another provider (NP - nurse practitioner) other than Dr. Marquard for my annual. I can't find the name as my access to the portal has apparently been terminated. I remember that a PA signed off on the visit (also a red flag???). So, patient BEWARE!!! I highly recommend finding another clinic if you value your time and money. If you choose to go to this clinic and see these practitioners, make sure to get prescriptions filled and lab work orders in hand before you leave their office.
