I experienced severe pain after my first and third treatment, and good results after my second treatment. I found the ATI approach of not using an online platform, not recording an exact and methodical exercise routine confusing because you cannot track progress. They also used a different therapist each time I went in, and the PT didn't have any idea who I was. Each therapist managed multiple patients within the same appointment time, and talked to other patients while doing manual traction on me. It was disturbing. I discontinued the therapy due to concerns about becoming injured. Avoid. read more

Zared at the Bethesda, MD location goes well beyond the normal one hour physical therapy. He genuinely shows care and precision in all his exercises. One never feels like a number or rushed. The therapy always begins on time, and he will go beyond the one hour, if he can. I hope his superiors know how special he is. I had one session in ATI office in Columbia and I consider it an awful experience . The next day my conditions aggravated to the point that my sleep got disturbed and I can't carry on with my daily routine. I came to this office with much milder conditions that caused me inconvenience but didn't interfere with my sleep and didn't bother me 24/7 like it is happening now. read more

Well, I originally thought this was the place to go to assist with my rehabilitation after being struck by a car while walking in a crosswalk. I would not recommend ATI at this time, nor go here for future needs. I went here with Tricare insurance which requires the LPT to provide 1:1 care. This is more personal and individualized. That would mean I would get the proper care with supervision. That is how it started when I originally started here back in Nov 2018 with Jyoti "Jo". She had a plan, assisted with the exercises and educated me on how to do these properly. When I was in an accident and struck by a car while walking in a crosswalk I decided to come back under auto insurance claim. This requires the same standards and restrictions as Tricare. I started working again with Jo. She adhered and provided the 1:1 care that I was to receive per insurance requirements. As COVID changed everything she was laid off and I started care with Priyanka thinking it was going to be the same. The care started out the way Jo provided 1:1. Then it became, I have this tele appt. so I could hear the other person as this was being performed in conjunction with my care. This started as a 1 time thing, then became regular and now another patient would actually be in the office in addition to the tele appt. along with myself. Now, 3 patients at one time with one LPT. Are we receiving the proper care? I continued to perform the exercises as I learned (later to learn I was doing them improperly - only told to go "slower") the best I could. I spoke to my PCM about this and I was recommended to get a second opinion since I felt PT was helping. I called ProAction PT and went for a consultation. I immediately liked the place, everyone was very helpful, there was a seamless process and they provided 1:1 to EVERY PATIENT! Wow, that is fantastic. I could keep going on, but the point is this...I discovered as I was performing some of the same exercises that I learned at ATI were actually not as beneficial. I was educated to perform them the proper way. I started receiving many benefits within a few visits. I also could not believe the difference in charges. ATI averaged $300-$500 a visit and ProAction averaged $200-$300 and ProAction provided twice the care and education along with 1:1 care. Unfortunately, ATI was overpaid since it was an auto claim and they were receiving checks from several places. I along with my representative contacted the ATI billing office several times and they were extremely unhelpful and unresponsive. The overpayment has been requested from Sept - Dec 2020 and still remains unpaid. This is what has sparked this detailed review. I think people need to be aware of their rights and what type of situation you can avoid by doing your research first. I contacted them myself in early Dec and they stated they need more time. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND PROACTION on ParkLawn Drive in Rockville. I have worked in the rehabilitation field for 15 years and if I ever need to receive care this is the only place I would continue care. The office team is wonderful also. read more

this is the worst place you need going for PT. My 19 year old went there for PT for his neck and shoulder pain. During the physical therapy, after he doing the exercises the therapist told him to do, he felt pain intensified, nausea and dizzy. So the therapist called me to pick him up, when i arrived there, my son was lying in bed. When i asked the therapist , she said this will happen to other patients every couple months. But he drove himself in that morning and he was fine. Be watch out that place, instead of fixing you, they may damage you!!! read more

Therapists are good. Unfortunately the corporate support structure is not so good. They are attempting to automate every aspect of signup and patient administration but their reach far exceeds their grasp in this. For example their cell phone app for showing home exercises did not work when I tried to use it so I had to go to the clinic and ask them to print out the exercises. Also their online scheduling app makes no sense. Instead of picking a specific date for you first appointment it simply asks you which day of the week you prefer. Then they do not get back to you. So therapists good, infrasture not so good. read more

My neck hurts worse now. Been there twice and nobody has told me there name. Sketchy? You bet. You might have a good experience. Who could tell. My first visit was great. Second visit... not so much. Two employees sat and joked about what kind of insurance people had. Specifically people on Medicade. Very unprofessional. They paid the very minimum attention to me. The place is brand new and it already looks dirty and smells.. Yikes! Haha I have a neck problem and they had me sit in a chair. And I had to turn to look at the person further hurting my neck that was instructing me. The two other employees sat there and did minimal work while joking about whatever and paying very little attention. Your first visit will probably be good. After that you're pretty much on your own. As someone who had been to physical therapy several years ago for a different injury, I had fairly basic expectations for a PT clinic. There are several national and regional chains with locations in Rockville, so I chose this one solely based on its proximity to the Twinbrook Metro station. I am happy to say ATI Physical Therapy dramatically exceeded my expectations over the last month or so of attending twice weekly sessions. Ian was my physical therapist, and together with the other friendly staff members at the location, the team really made me feel welcome. Everyone has shifts, but I generally have been with the same 2-3 staff every session. It's a very laid back and funny conversational atmosphere as we go through our therapy routines. The clinic is located on the lower level of a strip mall with the front door facing into the lot (rather than the Rockville Pike or Halpine Rd.), such that there isn't an excessive amount of foot or car traffic past the windows. The clean interior looks brand new and has abundant natural lighting, with a separate waiting area in front for friends & family that is usually empty, as I have never had to wait upon arrival. Technologically speaking, they gave me a welcome folder and I will receive discharge papers but everything is also online and in the app. They transitioned between billing portals during my time there and they are still getting that online, but they accept co-payments at the front desk. Though I am glad my injury has been resolved, this is tempered with some sadness that the routine over the last 5 weeks is coming to an end. That speaks to how welcoming and personal the team at ATI has been, given that PT is typically aiming to be bearable, vs. something to enjoy or look forward to. Be careful here. They tell you that your insurance is accepted and encourage you to schedule as many visits as you can close together. Then they tell you you are not covered and on the hook for all the visits you've already had. There is no technology here. It's basically a bunch of teenagers telling you how to use a rubber band or a ball and then you're basically on your own. They have loads of complaints about their billing practices on the BBB. Unfortunately, I have substantial experience with PT. I recently developed a serious inner ear condition causing vertigo and brain fog. I was referred by my ENT with a prescription for "vestibular therapy." It took some hunting to find this specialized therapy before I found ATI Rockville and boy am I glad I did. Priyanka, Sarah and Jorden are the best. Some of the standard maneuvers are precluded by a pre-existing cervical injury. But they were able to put together an alternate regime that is getting me better. Professional, on time, patient oriented. Highly recommended. read more

Let me tell you something. I have to been to several PT places but this one takes the cake. From the time I stepped in this beautiful center with natural light pouring till the time I left I felt I was in a super deluxe 5 star hotel. As with any place it is not just the facility but the staff. I had the privilege of having Jesse as my therapist. This guy genuinely loves his job and the amount of care he showed was much much more than any other PT place I have visited. He just has a very good attitude and he really makes you feel welcomed and treats you like royalty. I am not kidding. He knows his stuff and is gentle because he knows you are hurting and he wants to help and make you feel better. I recommend ATI to anyone and everyone that is looking for a decent place with some really dedicated and cool employees. It is service that brings customers back for more. Nothing else. Everyone has the same machines and same gadgets but ladies and gentlemen, it is the service. At the end of the day you will remember the 5 star service that this facility and staff offers. I called and asked if they were "in network" with my insurance. They told me yes, we take your insurance. When we showed up for the appointment, the paperwork said "OUT" of network. When I asked about it, they kept telling me it wasn't a problem, since they will take the payment as if they are In-network. NOT what I had asked, since we would trigger another deductible if they are out of network. Plus they kept trying to tell me that other plans for the same company accept their insurance, which I don't believe. If you want to ensure they are In-network, be sure to call your insurance company first. Don't waste your time like I did! read more

ATI Physical Therapy= The best in this area. Jesse is the best! If you have pain, go see Jesse. I highly recommend him. 5 short weeks and my neck is much better. I went from a 9-9.5 pain level to about a 2. This after having a constant neck spasm for over 2.5 years. After relocating from FL, I sought a Physical Therapist in the Rockville/ N. Bethesda area that offered manual manipulation and a private room. Admittedly, I am spoiled from a very good PT in FL which offered great therapy along with private rooms, Pandora music, and a great atmosphere) Luckily I happened upon ATI Physical Therapy and walked in and spoke with Jesse. There is the private room I was looking for along with great service. The facility is new, spotless, and offers what I consider to be unmatched pain therapy and service for this area. The interior is set up much like a nice, new gym with new equipment and several modern beds/benches with gray colored walls and lots of windows, located in Congressional Village. Treating sports injuries, accident victims, chronic pain... I am there for chronic pain. This location offers hot pack therapy, actual hands on therapy, and electrical stimulation. Appointments are 60-90 minutes in length. Under Jesse's diligent care, and manual manipulation, my neck is so much better. Jesse is a great guy, with that perfect blend of professionalism, talent, healing abilities, and is very likable. He is intuitive and I can't say enough good things about him. I attended this clinic for a Hip Labral Tear for about 5 months. I can honestly say this was the best clinic I have ever been to. The PT's are very friendly and knowledgeable. They tend to your needs with enthusiasm; you can really feel their desire to get your back to your functional goals. Each visit you are greeted with a hearty hello and a genuine concern for your well being. I can't really give greater praise than this. ATI was recommended by a friend and I owe him big time! I needed help for lower back pain and Cassie and the staff at ATI did a first class job. Over several weeks Cassie provided instruction and developed a series of exercises to strengthen my core, reducing the work load on my spine. It was evident early on that ATI hires well trained, knowledgeable therapists who understand that each patient is unique. I felt at ease and confident in their care. While my back issues are a serious health issue, Cassie and her staff often used humor to put me at ease. After a car accident, my attending physician recommended ATI to help recover from a painful whiplash. I have been to other physical therapy groups and felt skeptical. Jason was kind and very helpful in navigating through the insurance part, so I could concentrate on the physical therapy part. Cassie is AMAZING. Kind, knowledgeable, funny and perfect for her profession, she has been of enormous benefit to me. I have a wealth of exercises and stretches that I plan to utilize for the rest of my life.
