Hanna Prange and John Kim at Therapydia Queen Anne are the best I've ever worked with. Hanna excels not only in her domain knowledge but also in her work ethic, empathy, and patience. I came to her with severe arthrofibrosis and extremely limited range of motion (~30 degrees), the result of a post-surgery knee infection in China. I was fortunate that a friend who'd experienced similar conditions had worked with Hanna and referred me to her. Before my scar tissue debridement surgery (which my severe condition required), Hanna supported me with both her expertise and emotional encouragement. She exhausted every avenue to prepare my knee for the procedure, and my surgeon was genuinely impressed by how much range of motion she was able to recover even before the operation. Because of the groundwork Hanna laid, I came out of surgery with results that even my surgeon didn't expect given the severity of my condition. Post-surgery, Hanna and John collaborated on a tailored recovery plan that helped me regain roughly 140 degrees of range of motion - and I'm still improving. What truly set Hanna apart from the other physical therapists I had worked with previously was her willingness to explore various treatment options, her approach to tailoring care to each patient's unique situation, her persistence in root-causing issues and finding the right solutions, and above all, her calm presence and emotional support throughout the process. To me, a great physical therapist isn't measured solely by their clinical expertise - it's how much their patients trust and rely on them. By that measure, Hanna is the best! I used to see 3 different doctors and had to do all the footwork to get them to share information. I have never experienced better disease management or more thorough and compassionate care. Dr. Sontrop is also just so on top of her charting, referrals, etc. I always just feel like at Polyclinic and Dr. Sontrop's office - I'm in good hands.

I have an issue where my neck gets out of alignment and I get really dizzy/nauseous. It happens once every few years, I go to the chiropractor a few times, and it's resolved. Over the past 15 years, I have worked with 3 different chiropractors and they have all been wonderful at addressing this issue as well as other tune-ups and strengthening needed. Last week my neck went out. I used to be a patient of Dr. Z, so I called up Olympic View (figuring I would give the new owners a shot). They were able to fit me in right away... which isn't surprising since they have been spamming my phone and email trying to get me to schedule an appointment since they took over the business. I go in and they require I do x-rays. "Is it absolutely necessary?" I ask. Yes, they say. They need to make sure I don't have any major issues they don't know about. I realize I am a "new" patient (to them and they know I have good insurance. I'm willing to play along because my neck really hurts and I'm desperate. They do less than 5 adjustments total between my lower back, upper back, and neck. They send me on my way (no instructions about ice, stretches, etc). and say to come back Monday to finish off a few more adjustments. As I walk out I ask if there is a copay and the office tech says "not this time," I show up today (Monday) and the first thing they do is pull me into a room to look at my xrays. They're "very concerned" about my lower back and have a way to prevent surgery for it (dear reader- i broke my back as a teen... I told them this, and I know about my back issues. My back condition is overseen by a doctor, it is stable and not deteriorating/worsening). The Chiropractor "Dr" assures me that 2-3 times per week for a few weeks plus a home exercise/strengthening program will make everything feel better and prevent an expensive surgery. I try to clarify that I'm just here for my upper neck issue and try to ask how many treatments. The Dr. is again vague, saying a few weeks at most, and then sends in the office tech to go over billing. What do you know!!?!?! My treatment plan is for EXACTLY the number of chiropractic appointments my insurance covers for a year! I just need to attend 3 times a week for EIGHT weeks (ie- a few months, not a few weeks). I am then given the option of paying all my copays at once for a discount. At this point, my head is spinning and I'm trying to figure out why I'm not being offered my follow-up adjustment for my original complaint. I ask the tech and she said I can either do their treatment plan, she "guesses" they could do a random adjustment if I really wanted it, or I can just pay the copay from the previous treatment and leave. At this point, there is no way I'm paying another copay or letting them touch my neck for a "random adjustment." I looked at the "what's included" list for their "treatment plan" and it is literally a bunch of modalitis/treatments to rack up insurance reimbursement. I played along with the xrays.... but fool me twice... shame on you! I was flabbergasted. It was a total sales gimmick and they weren't even hiding it! When I brought up wanting to resolve my first issue I came in for the office tech honestly didn't know what to do other than just ask for the copayment from my first visit (remember, the one that I didn't have to pay!??!) since I didn't want TWENTY FOUR more treatments. So, here I am... out a copay, still a little dizzy, and looking for a new chiropractor. Please save yourself time and find an honest chiropractor.

The PT has a different opinion from other PTs, and my wife thinks he is on the right track. She has been feeling better after 2 session. The staff is friendly when we try to make more appointments. Very patiently waiting for us to look through our schedule. It is a big space, with smaller private rooms on the side. And the lobby waiting area is a good size and chairs, and coffee table.

You're just kind of rushed through and they go through the motions with you to ensure all their boxes are ticked so it appears like on paper they did their due diligence for your medical needs. My experience was that I was tossed around from therapist to therapist from one appt to the next. I don't know if I even saw the same therapist more than twice during my 12 week session. Every time I went in the therapists were multitasking and it seemed like there was a lot of patient overlap and they were trying to juggle more than one patient at a time. Not the greatest feeling when you're expecting to receive one-on-one attention and a full hour of service. It was definitely not that. Luckily, my insurance covers most of the expenses. I only end up paying a small portion (my co-pay). But when I look at my statement and how much money they charging the insurance company it seems insane. I hardly think what I received in those session is worth $300 a pop. What a racket!! What happened to physical therapy being at the hospitals? When I used to go to Swedish I had much better experience. But now my doctors only refer to this place. The overall experience is generic and I feel like I'm getting the PT equivalent of visiting a chain restaurant like Starbucks or Panera. Also, at the end of all 12 weeks of PT, my pain only mildly improved. Almost not worth bothering. I could have done more in a YouTube video at home.

It was an ugly sight and ruined my vacation. I took photos, and upon returning went to see Dr. Bowers and asked him? "What happened?"
