I have never had such a horrendous experience with a company EVER. Unethical, predatory employees, spineless owner. I reached out to several companies back in May 2024 as I thought there was an issue that required window replacement, but it turned out I could fix it with caulk so I did not proceed with any quotes. My quote was done by Jeff. During my quote session, Jeff made several comments that I took as a misunderstanding of social cues, but I now know were not. Two months after my initial quote, I received a text message from Jeff's PERSONAL device. Prior to this, he had only communicated with me via a work device. This text from Jeff was disturbing, inappropriate, and concerning from a safety perspective. Jeff ABUSED his access to customer data to hit on a customer nearly HALF his age. I was hesitant to reach out to the company as I did not know these men (The owner, Mark, and Jeff) and feared retaliation; however, I did not want this to happen to another young woman so I left a review through the BBB. Mark reached out within a few hours expressing his apologies and disgust with Jeff's actions and assured me Jeff would be fired first thing Monday morning. I spent the weekend beefing up my home security system just in case. Come Monday, I hear nothing. Which was fine at first. Tuesday morning, I received an email stating that Jeff was not fired, that Jeff was a "good man", it would "be a loss for us to have to let him go", and asked for my forgiveness. Our definitions of what make a good man are vastly different. I also let Mark know that I would not be manipulated into offering my forgiveness for the sake of politeness or either of their consciences. After letting Mark know of my disappointment, I was told that Jeff never meant to send the text but "accidentally" pressed send while editing the text. This does not explain how Jeff got my phone number on his personal device in the first place. The argument they may use was "there was a discussion about his motorcycle while he was in your home and wanted to follow up on that conversation" but I invite whoever reads this to put themselves in my shoes. A man whom I do not know is in my home and is rambling about his hobby. He already inappropriately hugged me when he saw I owned power tools. Would you feel safe as a petite woman telling a strange man twice your age and twice your size "no, I do not care about your bike. Please leave"? I have already told all of my friends never to use this business due to the lack of ethics and a spine from the owner and its' employees. Your personal information is not protected and enlisting this business to do work to your home is only putting yourself, your wife, your daughters, and your family at risk. My intention here is not to get Jeff fired, but to notify my neighbors and fellow Cobb residents that this business is untrustworthy. His actions regarding this matter are well within his rights as owner and they show his backwards priorities, lack of character, and bad morals. But it is also within my right to protect other women and homeowners in the Cobb area from people like this. read more

I have used Atlanta Area Window & Door 2 times for front door installation at two different property locations. The first time, I'd give them a 5 star. But the second time, I'm giving them a 3 star. I don't have much to say about the first experience since I thought that they did a great job that I hired them for the second job. However, the second job was riddled with issues and heartache. I shopped for quotes from different companies and I awarded the job to Mark and his team. The reason I award the job to Mark is not due to the price but due to the thoughtful and experienced comments he made and when he addressed my questions. I thought that this guy was someone who care and was not in the job just for the money. However, Mark is not the one that actually does the door install. He had a different team install the door and that would be fine as long as there were no issues with the door install. But there were issues. The installation team are great people - someone you could grab a beer with and chat. But they lacked the problem solving and attitude of someone who owned their own business. Issue #1: After the door was installed, the door did not close well. I had to push extra hard to get the door to shut. I asked the installer if there is something he can do to fix that. He did what he can on installation day (took an entire day to install and they worked past 5pm) and had to come back on a different day. On the second day, they made some changes to the door sweep. This made the door close better. However, this created an issue with a gap between the bottom of the door and the floor. While walking outside at night, I saw streams of light shining from under the front door. This allowed insects to enter my house. I brought this to Mark's attention and asked him not to send the same crew to fix the issue because the installation guy had already told me that he did everything he can. Mark was able to ask another guy to come and fix the issue. The new guy showed up and fixed the issue within 30 mins or less. This guy owned his own door installation business and does the door install himself. During the whole ordeal, Mark showed up on day one to supervise and ensure everything was on track but he did not attempt to remedy the work himself. Issue #2: I paid the original door installers $xx (i forgot the amount) in cash to install a nest doorbell. The doorbell was installed but did not work because a transformer was required and they do not install transformers. I had to pay a separate guy to install the transformer. In hindsight, I would should have paid a separate guy to install doorbell who can also install a transformer if needed. This was probably my fault but I felt like I paid for something that didn't solve my problem. Issue #3: 1-2 months after the door was installed, i noticed that pads at the foot of the door had ripped. I asked Mark to fix and his response was that he would send some pads in the mail for me to fix myself. It's been a month and I haven't seen any pads in my mailbox. I paid almost $6K for doorframe and door (which i still have to paint myself). For this amount of money I was expecting a better streamlined, worry-free experience. read more

On January 28,, 2023 Atlanta Area Windows and Doors installed Slocomb Pro-Tech vinyl windows. We just received our gas bill for the first full month after the window installation and it is $75 less than the previous month's bill. Also, during the month of February we also switched from an electric stove to a gas stove so that added to our gas usage and we still saved $75 the very first month. Our electric bill was also a good bit lower. It will be interesting to see our electricity savings this summer when the a/c is on. When you compare the 4.034 therms per day prior to the new windows being installed to 1.838 therms per day after, you can see that we are now using less than half the gas therms, even with now cooking with gas instead of electric. Even with this savings, it will still take many years to recoup the cost of the window purchase BUT the comfort of not having a drafty house is also a huge benefit to my family. The other thing that we have noticed is that the road noise is significantly less. We live on a four lane divided highway with lots of traffic. Other than the loudest mufflers and big trucks we no longer hear the majority of the traffic unless the roads are wet and even then it is subdued from the previous level with single pane windows. The team at Atlanta Area Windows and Door were great from Mark to Walt to the installers. It was a seamless operation. I would highly recommend their company. read more

Spent a couple of hours looking at the extensive website and called again with my door choices. Was told that I would get a call back that afternoon with a price. Received no call back, so followed up again after a couple of days. Was told that I would get a call back in 15 minutes with specific prices. Here we are, several days later, and again no call back. If I can't even get an estimate scheduled, I can only imagine how they are with getting work scheduled and completed. Mark worked with me on budget and his partner made several suggestions based on what I wanted. They also don't overpromise. Timelines were established early on and clearly. The windows on the first project came out wonderful and precise. They had to cut through the wall to expand the size and they did a perfect job. I had an excellent customer experience with Atlanta Area Window & Door. Walt Reddick was very response and I received my estimate within hours of Walt and Mark Jamerson being at my condo to measure and talk about window options. I had 12 windows of varying sizes that were the original builder's metal single-hung (from 1984!). I actually had appointments with two other window companies to get alternate quotes but after meeting Walt/Mark and calling a reference of theirs, I was ready to move forward and cancelled the other two appointments! The 3-man crew was incredibly efficient, detail-oriented, 'worked clean', and respectful. The company offers financing, as well as a cash discount (which I took advantage of!). The price included bottom half screens and I paid a nominal amount for full screens on my 2 bedroom windows. They even re-hung my blinds brackets in a more preferred location. Everyone throughout the process was easy to communicate with and I am thrilled with my Slocumb white vinyl double-hung windows. They are super-insulated and within hours of installation, the lack of my A/C cycling on/off was noticeable. It took me a day to realize that the other benefit was how much quieter it was in my condo! You truly get what you pay for and I highly recommend Atlanta Area Window & Door. We ordered 5 replacement windows and a new front door with transom and sidelights. Since our original door was an odd size we needed a custom solution. Contacted another company and never got a call back let alone an estimate after calling twice. Received an immediate response and reasonable estimate and time frame from AAWD. Since we were not satisfied with the first door installed due to the wood door not taking the stain properly AAWD worked with us to replace it and we are very happy with the end result. I had Atlanta Area Window & Door replace all of the windows in my home 5 years ago on the recomendation of a friend who was also very happy with them. They took the time to show me my options on how to reduce the buildup of heat in my home due to afternoon sun. With my old windows the A/C could not handle the heat. With my new windows the A/C actually is able to shut off during the hottest part of the day. It is also much quieter in the house. The noise outside doesnt come inside. I recently had a window fog up between the panes. It was promptly taken care even after 5 years. These guys are great and would definitely use them again If I want to replace my doors. read more

I want to share with neighbors the great experience we had today with the removal and replacement of large trapezoid windows in our master bathroom by Atlanta Area Window and Door Co., Inc. of Kennesaw. Age and heavy rain in April caused two of the four windows to fail with the seals allowing moisture to get in between the panes of glass leaving fogging and streaking moisture. The install today by a talented and strong three person crew (hand carried heavy glass down and up a 24' ladder from our deck) was some of the best workmanship I have ever experienced. We love the new, thicker, tempered, low E and insulated double pane windows. It is going to make a difference now and in the winter. If you want a fair and honest window replacement job give them a call for an estimate. I am writing this endorsement on my own initiative and am receiving nothing in return from the company. After estimates from five companies and production time we are very happy with the results and want to acknowledge good work and service when it happens.
