I was amazed at how efficient this place is and well as warm and welcoming! Dr Berman was very personable and that is not always the case these days when Dr's are overworked & driven by insurance companies to give you only 15 minutes of their time. I had a terrible sunburn on my feet and I stead of making me feel like an idiot he made me feel seen as well as heard with a sense of humor to boot! I grew up in Miami before sunscreen days and I have a lot of sun damage from them so I'm very careful to always wear on my face but I forget about my hands ( especially in the car. I have been seeing the doctor's and PAs here for several years. While traveling to visit my daughter in Chicago I became concerned about a potential skin infection. The receptionist set me up a telemedicine appt with Spencer and she took care of everything including calling In a prescription right away. I recently went to this facility to have a couple of cysts removed. This place is a factory, they really move people through. The service was fine, fortunately. But their billing practices are what caught me totally off guard. At no point during the process did they provide an estimate for their services. All they said is they'd like to set up two separate appointments that would take 15 minutes each. Only after the second appointment and the bills started coming through did I realize that the bill for the two visits was nearly $1,300. It was an elective procedure that I'd had one other time that took the same amount of time and cost around $200. Had I been given an opportunity to understand the costs in advance, I would not have had the work done, which I believe is the point. I find this lack of transparency to be totally unacceptable and am writing this review in the hope it may help someone else. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is the number of reminders I got for my appointment. 2 texts, 2 emails and a phone call. I'd call that excessive. And I've already gotten 2 reminders about my upcoming appointment in January, 2022!! read more

I like this place -- as much as you can like any place where you go to get things cut and burned off your skin. I've had basal cell and squamous cancers removed. And a few other lesser things. As a melanoma survivor, I tend to keep on top of these things. I see Dr. Berman, an excellent and thorough doctor and a personable and funny guy. I never feel rushed. The process is painless, and the scarring is minimal -- if at all. The staff is great, and the appointments are always on time. Good people. Good care. read more

I will echo other reviewers with the RUSHED feeling when seeing Dr. Kevin Berman - his assistants are the same. It does not leave you feeling like you've had a good examination... it was a whirlwind. This office charges significantly more $$ money than insurance rates!! Please note before you go that they tend to charge about double for insurance rates - so you will likely be paying out of pocket for services. I've also seen Norma Gordon and that was far less rushed, but I had a test sent off that I was anxious to hear back on. After a week of not hearing anything (for a test that should have taken ~2 or 3 days) I called and they couldn't "find my results." Then 2 business days after that Friday I called again and finally got a return call with my results later that day... so I had to call 2x just to get my test results. They have no follow up for patience and don't even make recommendations. read more

Appalled! If you look at my review history you will see I review a lot and very rarely give negative reviews. This place should get a negative rating. I'll start with the only positive I can give, they were quick to bring me back at my scheduled appointment time. That's it. Now on to the list of negatives. I was handed a clip board when i walked in, the front desk operator barely glanced up to see I was a human being standing in front of her. She told me to only fill out the basics, I thought it was odd they didn't ask for my medical history. Now, I understand why, they do not care. I was brought back to a room that felt very dingy and I questioned why anyone had last shown it some love. The young girl asked me a series of questions barely glancing up from her ipad. Then hands me a paper mid-drift and a paper sheet, tells me to get undressed and they would be back. Less than 5 mins later, here comes a very fast talking PA (Norma) and the same girl. Norma sat down, made eye contact with me and asked me about my father's melanoma. She asked how we was doing now, I said... I'm not sure, I hope well. The melanoma took his life 10 years ago. I had already told the young girl this. Then she goes to fast paced business mode, quickly showing me that she had exhausted all the care she had by asking me about my father. She looks me over from head to toe in less than 5 minuets. Then asks me what spots I was concerned about. I pointed the two out to her, surely she noticed them in the examination... surely she was just checking to see if I was aware. I just have to have some hope here. She looks at the spot on my shoulder and says, that looks like a "Blah blah medical term" to me. I said, oh okay... well it popped up suddenly with redness and itching, symptoms of melanoma and it worried me. She said, well I'll send it for a biopsy just to be sure, but i think its nothing. She looks at my face and says, im sure you've been told you have rosacea. I say no never. She says, well you do and I can give you medicine for it. I say no thanks, thinking... um maybe my face is read because im standing here totally naked with two strangers looking at me, and the heat...that room was hot. Then I ask about the second spot i was concerned about. I knew it couldn't be much to worry about since it had been there for quite some time. She again said it was some unpronounceable medical term, that was too much to remember. I asked, well what is that, she said the name again. I said, i don't know what that means. Her response was to give me an annoyed, "oh you stupid non-medial nuisance" look. She says in a sigh, its just a skin growth like a barnacle. Oh...okay, sure I have a barnacle! That makes no sense to me either but i know i can at least remember that word and google it. So i did and found out its quite normal and okay. She did offer to remove it if I really wanted her to. No no, I don't want to bother you. But... would you mind removing the skin tag from my eye and doing that biopsy. She goes around behind me, quickly does something that causes a sting and then walks to the front drops a chunk of my flesh into a vial, and says okay all done, and heads for the door. I say... what about the skin tag. She says, oh does that little thing really bother you that much. I say i don't want it to get bigger, I'd like it removed. She pulls a pair of scissors from a drawer and comes at my eye. Snip, and back in the drawer with the scissors. I'm just hoping that drawer is actually a sterilization machine. I say, oh thanks, I guess I could have done that. She says, yep told you...and walks out of the room. The young girl says, get dress and go to check out, take this paper with you. I say where is check out. She says, down the hall and walks out. I walk out of the room and wonder around past the swarm of staff filing paperwork to the check out. I hand her my paper, she says that's $80. I have no idea for what and I know now not to ask questions here, no one knows how to speak to clients. I just wanted out of there. Today I get the callback results of my biopsy. It comes back benign, thank God! The message says if you have questions to call back, so I do because I have questions. Like what was that? The same lady who left me the message 1 min earlier answers, she doesn't remember me. She say oh i left you a message it was benign. I say yes... but what was it. She says... oh um.... and gives a medical term, i say... well what is that. She says I can't say, but its normal. No offer to have a Dr call me back...nothing... Just a pause, and so I say, thanks and hang out. Short version - if you actually are concerned about a spot or actually want a dr's advice, this is not the place to go to. I suppose if you are looking for a quick prescription or some other quick easy solution...this would be your place. They clearly are focused on speed and volume here. read more

Reading the previous two reviews, I can say that little has changed. There is however, the stipulation that everyone is able to have a bad day. But when you're in customer service, you have to remember to put on your game face. Some of those ladies are like emotionless drones. The P.A. (Barbara, I believe,) that examined my (naked) body for questionable moles, was actually nice. I tried lightening the mood with stupid humor, and she, along with one of her assistants, were actually receptive, and chuckled. I had to have one small mole removed that was behind my right thigh. It was quick and painless! My only real issue was in the way it healed, as it left a black hole, that has now since faded to a dark tan blemish. Kind of annoying, but it could've been worse..... Give them a try and formulate your own opinion.;) But if they do not meet your expectations, or their level of professionalism is not on par, then divulge herein. Because I think that they, along with any other company for that matter, should pay attention to these reviews! read more
