I stayed for several days for a work conference. I was very worried about the 2.6 rating. It was nicer than my expectations. But again those were absurdly low. I would give front desk staff a two star. Serving staff for the breakfast and lunch and cocktail party four stars. All very nice and unimposing during the conference activities. Upon interest to the resort when we came into our room, there were dirty footprints of the last customer all over the floor floors, dead flies and nets on the ceilings of the bathrooms trash in the corner, un vacuumed room and just horrible as if the housekeeping never entered the space. I then spoke with someone at the front desk, told her about the experience and she assured me that while we were gone, our room would be cleaned low and behold we come back at 2 AM and nothing has been done for as much money as they want their customer service really needs a revamp and retraining. This place is COVERED in mold and it hits you in the face when you walk in. Mold in the bedding, mold in the shower, shower curtain covered in mold, it hits you in the face when you walk in. Everything was really dirty and the towels were covered with something green and lots of hair that wasn't ours. The shower had not been cleaned. There was trash on the floor in our room when we walked in and the bedding was stained and also covered in mold. There is no working shuttle. I've never stayed anywhere so disgusting. We travel all the time and this was absolutely unacceptable. We also told them we were allergic to animals when booking and they put us in a room on the first floor with the pets at check in so we already had to switch rooms initially or I would've tried switching again to see if another room was any better. This whole place is VERY dated and old. Really really run down. Falling apart and structural damage all over the place. The staff was nice to us but this place needs MAJOR renovations and the new management has run it to the ground. We bought platinum season passes for our trip this week and we will never stay here again. I can't get a deep breath in the room because it smells so bad. The Sky Bridge Summit is closed, train is closed, all the park restaurants are closed and sold out of everything. The park is so so so trashy and dirty and gross. All of the employees talk about how management has changed and it's gone downhill bad and they hate working there. Considering the location of this "resort" in actually INSIDE Stone Mountain Park, I had real high hopes. First night when we checked in, the front desk gave literally zero info on parking, how to get to rooms, WiFi, etc. And there's no info booklet in the room either. Pet fee of $145 but another employee told me it is only good for 2 days but since this wasn't explained to me, as a courtesy, she wouldn't charge me again\ Pet walk area is easily accessible but no way back in to the hotel - the door locks behind you without card key access. Uncomfortable beds, air that never gets cold enough, shower that never gets hot enough, dirty curtains. Lobby always smells nice but our room smelled like dog - if dog owners are paying extra fees those fees need to be used to clean and sanitize the rooms so there are no odors left behind. The amenities that they offer are very limited. The big one was a shuttle to the Mountain, I was told only if he's available, which of course he wasn't.The hotel looks nothing like it appears on the website it is very rundown And on unkept. Had a broken chair on the balcony and looked down to a dirty dipper, condom, and a cowboy hat. The hairdryer, tv and phone didn't work door did not shut correctly but you could use latch, another big reason I stayed there was because of the restaurant's and that was unsatisfactory as well. One of the restaurants only served us one entrée and we ordered 2. The other restaurant couldn't find a dessert menu. When they finally found one, I was told to take a picture of it cause it was the only one. Went for breakfast and was told the Chef refused to cook the bacon. All they would say was sorry he refuses too instead of resolving the issue. The woman behind the front desk was very rude and very unhelpful as I asked for a blanket three times and never received. I tried calling down there, but the phone didn't work, so I looked up the number and called on my cell phone to ask for a blanket that we had already asked for earlier and she said she came to your room but couldn't get inside. The door didn't work and you weren't there so I asked for it and it never came so then I went downstairs and asked her again for one and was told that housekeeping has left for the day and she could not give us one.To top it off as I was leaving . Mother's Day Brunch 2026 This resort and restaurant has gone way down hill. This used to be a decent brunch with many offerings and good service. Just spent Mother's Day Brunch here and they have gotten so cheap. Even the salad bar was weak! They used to offer shrimp and crab claws, along with various breakfast entrees but no longer. They barely even put sausage in the sausage gravy. If you are cutting back costs then the cost to eat there should be reflected. The cost is still nearly $100 per person and the food was mediocre at best. And the service was terrible. The resort could also use a makeover. I stayed here last year around July 4th on a whim. I wanted to stay near a lake and found this resort on Booking.com. The room overlooked a view of the water and had a balcony. Staff was pleasant. We visited nearby Stone Mountain Park which was really fun. There was a shuttle offered to take us to the park and back. There were storms in the vicinity so the park's rides were starting to shut down. We did not want to get rained on so we called for the shuttle, which took about 45-60 minutes to arrive. I take it that they were busy. Needless to say, we were drenched because by this time, the storm was upon us. I believe the driver thought it was funny and I guess it was considering the resort is 10 minutes away from the park. Lesson learned....drive your own vehicle! We only stayed one night so we did not check out the pool or restaurant or any other amenities onsite. I would consider staying here if I were visiting the park again. read more

I want to share my deep disappointment about my recent stay. What was meant to be a special first-time getaway for my family turned into one of the most humiliating and upsetting experiences we've ever had. From the start, the room I booked was not honored. I was told by the night manager Chris that no accessible rooms were available, but I later overheard another new booking guest being given one. This was extremely frustrating and unfair. The dining experience was just as difficult. Food was served cold and wrong, service took over an hour and a half, and we had to repeatedly ask for the basics like water and silverware. Because of these delays, my children and I missed out on scheduled activities like the boat ride, sky ride, and zip line, which they were really looking forward to. The worst part, however, was being treated like a criminal. I was told breakfast would be charged to my room, but instead, three security guards waited outside in the hallway, called me by name, and accused me of skipping out on the bill--in front of my children and other guests as we were headed to the outdoor pool. This was humiliating, traumatizing, and completely unnecessary. Later I discovered the manager, Kashima, was the one who initiated this, though she portraysd to not knkw what was going on.. My entire family felt embarrassed and disrespected. Instead of a joyful experience, we were left with painful memories. I am asking for a sincere apology, a refund, and compensation for the terrible treatment and ruined experience. Went to the restaurant here so this review is for the restaurant. The service is top notch and the food is good too. The fries were crispy and delicious. When we went we didn't get the best view since it was a late lunch. We sat near the window but it was the back side away from Stone Mountain. We ordered the pulled pork nachos and I got the salmon. The nachos were good. The salmon was ok. The steamed broccoli is just straight up steamed. My kids said they liked their kid pasta (they are 6&8 and split 1 order, they are small and don't eat a ton but they did have a little leftover). My husband got a chicken sandwich. We were there with some friends who also had two kids so we sat at 2 four tops so we could sit by the window. The kids all sat together and we adults sat together. Our waters were always topped off and I guess the kids drinks got topped off as well. I only let my kids have water but our friends let theirs have lemonade. Their kids got burgers/sliders and one of their kids ate theirs and the other didn't eat any because there was no cheese on it. Our friends said their food was good too, but they didn't finish since they ate more of the nachos. Overall it was good. Went for a friends wedding on New Year's Eve. 12/31/25, nice looking resort and ambiance. Rooms were nice and comfy and updated. The lake near it was amazing. And overall stone mountain park is a great place. Now for the bad, However staff, leadership and specifically the kitchen needs a total facelift/ training. Food took forever to come out was beyond late. No apologies provided nor updates provided. Food cooked completely wrong, orders given wrong. Cold fries. I could go on. For the price and amount spent. It was a huge disappointment. Spoke to the kitchen manager and his Nonchalant attitude and demeanor spoke volumes. A busy day such as New Year's Eve and this resort was not prepared. And my friend booked this place months in advance. They should've been better prepared and have staff that know how to work in busy time. We also witnessed many other families at the resort and people disappointed and complaining. Dispite the disappointment I would recommend seeing if you can get something catered if you should choose to have your wedding here. Way too expensive for what you get. I'm so disappointed in our recent trip to Stone Mountain and our stay at the resort. We spent so much money to come -- and 4 family members came from far away on my recommendation -- and then I was kind of embarrassed I suggested it. For context, my husband and I stayed at this hotel about 5 years ago because we happened to get it as a Priceline Express Deal. The hotel was dated at that time...but in a charming, throwback way...and the pool and views were incredible...as was the customer service and the friendliness of the staff. We had such a great time, I immediately thought it would be fun to take my niece and nephews on a trip here sometime. Now, unfortunately, the price has gone up but the resort has become completely ragged and rundown. The phones didn't work in any of the rooms. The TV volume wouldn't go above "24" which was barely audible. 2 of the 3 elevators didn't work and the one that did work was really slow...so it took ages to get back to our rooms. (So fun after a long day with kids.) They didn't give us very many towels...no housecleaning service unless requested. Toiletries out in all the rooms. Service at restaurants ridiculously slow. We had a suite and 2 rooms and the sliding doors to the balconies were rusted shut in two of the rooms. The in room refrigerators turned themselves off after 2 hours. WiFi was terrible, cell service was terrible, TVs and remotes barely worked...took forever to change channels and for channels to load. The indoor pool was over chlorinated and murky -- I'm fairly certain it gave me an ear infection. I could go on and on. I can't believe how much I paid to have such a horrible experience. Honestly the only thing that was good was the view and the size of the suite -- and the little kitchen area it had (sink, second fridge, counter space, microwave) Frankly, the condition of the resort matched the dinginess of the entire park. All the attractions seem rundown and poorly managed. We had a 1 pm reservation for the zip line course and the staff could not for the life of them figure out or remember how many people were in our party -- so they kept getting it wrong and holding us back...we didn't get on the course until after 2 pm...and after all that waiting we were done before 3 pm. Same thing happened with the kayaks...we waited for over an hour to actually get our kayaks (even though there were literally hundreds stacked up unused) and eventually gave up. When we asked how to get a refund, they gave us some complicated instructions to request a refund online. We bought the all attractions wristbands and no one checked them the entire time. Overall -- everything seemed so half-assed. Actually, half-assed would be an improvement. It was quarter-assed at best. It's really sad because I used to love going to Stone Mountain as a kid...but they've really gone downhill. Will not ever be going back. read more

This resort is phenomenal! The service is amazing everyone is super friendly and while they are good at anticipating needs they also ask! I came here with a conference group. The rooms were very clean and comfortable (although I spent very little time in them) and had an amazing view! The pavilion where we had the majority of our conference sessions was lovely and the perfect environment. Meals was catered at the hotel and were absolutely amazing along with excellent service. Run down, apparent exhausted staff. Our door's lock was broke. The front desk had no additional towels they could provide (room came with 3 and we had 4 people). Bathroom was tiny and dirty - like New York City hotel bathroom style dirty. Didn't get what we paid for. We could have got a luxurious hotel room in the city for what we paid here. Location was beautiful. GREAT accommodation for my dogs - step out the door and you can WALK YOUR DOG down a mile path in trees/nature. Evening BUFFET in the tavern was VERY convenient and enjoyed by the adults and kids. Indoor POOL was enjoyed by the kids and the connected hot tub let me soak while they played. I'd have given this place 1 star. However, the dog walking nature path, buffet, pool kept this from being a terribly disappointing experience. First: we reserved a room at The Inn at Stone Mountain, we pulled into an empty parking lot and I sign on the door "Sorry, we are closed but we moved your reservation to the Atlanta Evergreen Marriott, only 5 miles away." Convenience was great however the hotel is in need of ALOT of updating. Definitely not kid friendly as there isn't anything onsite for them to do. The indoor pool was drained on our second night, the outdoor pool is NOT heated. Over 20 people in the hot tub including kids. The "cafe" is only open until noon time, which doesn't leave you much option for grab and go. The staff is hit or miss. The hotel itself needs to be updated and a little more family friendly. There is enough space and enough kids to warrant more attractiveness for families to stay. Stone Mountain park itself, was also hit or miss with places being opened. Not many friendly staff members there either. The place was clean for the most part, but for us to return, it would need to have a significant improvement to think about staying again. read more

This hotel is fine for a short stay while visiting Stone Mountain. I read the bad reviews and we didn't have issues with the staff or the elevators. It's nice having heated pools (indoor and outdoor) year round. The outdoor hot tub was pretty dirty though. This place is a bit rundown and could use some upkeep. The friendliness of quite a few staff members was lacking. They seemed stressed. The food in both of the restaurants was atrocious. The chicken sandwich in the downstairs restaurant was inedible. The roll was stale and the chicken was so tough,it was hard to eat. My grandaughter had chicken fingers, she thought they were edible, but too chewy. The park attractions opened at 2:00pm. No need to get up early. The light show at night was good, for a second, but it very disjointed and boring. The best part was the speech by Andrew Young. The light show was really not well thought out.They could have a better job planning it out. Some kind of cohesive theme, about brotherhood and diversity, rather than just a mishmash of musical excerpts, given the history of the carving. On the plus side, the pool was very nice. What a gorgeous location! It's on a gazillion acres overlooking a breathtaking lake with fantastic views everywhere! It's hard not to get taken away by the beauty of everything! Plus the restaurant in the commons was delicious but even more impressive was their beyond accommodating and super friendly staff. Nice hotel, the common areas were nice and well-kept. We had a queen lakeview room on the first floor. I don't like staying on the first floor but at this hotel the first floor is elevated above ground level so that was nice. They don't have room service which was a hassle and the front desk did not answer the phone or call back after leaving a message. The biggest issue we had was one of our beds not being clean, we found crumbs under the sheets and the duvet was not in the cover so we all had to sleep in one bed with our own sheets. Beautiful hotel. Used to be a Marriott but is Independent now. The rooms are a large size but the bathrooms are in the small side. Bathroom has good size shower. Rooms are well appointed and have mini refrigerator and coffee maker. Good lighting in the room with a chair and tray table and a desk chair. The beds are comfortable but watch out if you are allergic to feathers! Asked housekeeping to remove feather pillows and comforter and replace with foam which was fine very quickly. The room was very average with basic amenities, and the downstairs cafe was not even open when i visited during the hours stated on the website. The Waterside Restaurant is nice, the breakfast buffet food is good and nicely presented, and the wait staff is friendly. It has been consistently good for many years. Hotel itself is terrible. The rooms are not maintained nor cleaned. The room carpet is sticky in places. The toilet is clogged. Other things are broken or falling apart in the room. The TV remote doesn't work. The room phone to the desk doesn't connect to anyone and can't take messages. In the lobby, there are reservation desks in 2 different directions, and the surly desk clerks will stand and glare instead of asking "Can I help you". They provided no receipt after my stay, I had to make a special request for a receipt. I will never return to stay in a room. On the web site, after selecting a room to reserve, there's an offer specifically stated as "$30 breakfast credit for $20" (posted photo is an example just to prove that this "offer" still exists). However, it's valid only on the morning of your stay, therefore forfeit BEFORE you arrive. No employee, including the customer service person I called by phone, has heard of this "credit", which shows up on my reservation as a "$20 credit", although they did suggest that I will automatically get $20 off (in which case, what was the point of paying in advance?). Customer Service denied my request for a refund of even the $20. If I had not paid in advance, I could have paid for my breakfast at any time. So there's catch, a penalty for paying in advance. They will blatantly rip you off and then plead ignorance. Do NOT fall for the "$30 breakfast credit". It's a scam. read more

Absolutely horrible management. We made a reservation on June 10,2025 for a wedding we were going to at the resort for the weekend of September 4-7,2025. We paid for the room in full. On August 22,2025 we received an email stating that the hotel was sold out and that our reservation was canceled. We immediately called the hotel to confirm that our reservation was cancelled and the front desk told us that no it was not and they resent the confirmation of the reservation. On August 26,2025 we called the hotel again just to make sure that our reservation was still confirmed but we were then told that it had indeed been canceled. We explained that we were attending a wedding at the hotel that weekend and we wanted our reservation restored. They flat out refused and said that our credit card would be refunded for the full amount. Apparently someone rented out the entire hotel after we made our reservation and payment. Do not make a reservation at this hotel. They are crooked. read more

Went to convention here twice the restaurants were only fair but expensive. The rooms were ok but the maid only comes every other day with these prices was disappointing. The drive into the resort is so beautiful. It's so green, lots of tall trees and a beautiful lake. The lobby was nice, check in was great. We checked in around 4pm. Kourtney checked us in. I read somewhere that they give out tickets yo the Lazer light show at Stone Mountain. So I asked her "do you all still give tickets to the Lazer show" with a smile she said " no, I'm sorry," Didn't think anything else of it. She seemed really nice. As we are going to our room in the 2nd floor, we get off the elevator and it smelled like wet dog. I saw a few dogs in the lobby but didn't think anything of it. As we walked down the hall, I hear barking from several rooms. We get into our room, which was really nice, updated,, and had a great view,, but we could hear the barking. I went back to the lobby and asked Kourtney for a room change. She told me they were all sold out and that they are a pet friendly hotel. As I was talking to her, more people and their dogs were checking in. There were so many dogs that I thought there was a dog show going on. I went back to my room and realized the 3 rooms directly across from me had dogs. 2 of the 3 rooms had 2 dogs. Needless to say I was so upset. I never unpacked. It was 6pm by now. I recorded the barking for almost 2 mins straight. I felt like I was staying in a kennel. I went back to the lobby but this time spoke with Jackie. I told her my situation. She said "the hotel just started a dog friendly policy. It's a $100 pet fee and there was no policy on how many pets, size or duration of stay. Jackie was great though, she really seemed to feel bad for me. She told me there were some rooms coming up but couldn't tell me if pets were by those rooms because they don't have specific non-dog floors. She asked for some time while she trys to relocate me. She also asked me to show the video to her manager in the morning. By this time Kourtney was on my bandwagon trying to help as well. In the meantime I checked each floor and walked down each hall clapping hands listening for an area of the hotel that didn't have dogs. It's around 8pm. I go back to the lobby, told Jackie what I discovered. She printed out the registration list to double check and found me a room on the 5th floor with no dogs. She also gave me tickets to the Lazer light show which at my initial registration Kourtney said they don't give out anymore. It's 10pm by the time I get into my new room. The view was great. It was peaceful. Getting off of the elevator it didn't smell like wet dog, and the common area was nicer than the other floors. We spent 4 days at the hotel. The Manger gave me a discount on the 1st night stay seeing as my first night was a waste. She also gave me a $40 credit toward food. The rest of my stay was great. The front desk staff was very accommodating. The food at both golf club and the hotel restaurant was delicious. The breakfast buffet was worth the $16 (best waffles ever). The fitness area is dated. The pool is really nice and so are the out door activities for the kids. Although the first day was the worst experience ever, the rest of my stay was great. But i would not stay at this hotel again. And unless you are a super dog lover who doesn't mind the musical sounds of a kennel, I do not recommend this hotel at all. read more

Forgot us on hold. Couldn't be bothered to help. I'm allergic to feathers (as is 20-30% of the population). All pillows and comforters in the room have feathers. I called the front desk to ask for something without feathers for those of us allergic. I was immediately put on hold and forgotten about. Called back after 20 minutes and they answered first ring. Front desk says they will send pillows and comforter without feathers right up. Never happened. After waiting for half an hour and nothing, I went down to the front myself. When i expressed the problem that 3 of our party have with feather allergies, I was told they don't have any non feather pillows and we would have to make do stuffing sheets into a pillow case. WTF? Had a meeting at the property a while back. Dealing with the meeting staff both while on site and while planning the event were pleasant. Getting to the property in the winter when I visited and getting into the lobby was pleasant and comforting. The room was spacious with a balcony overlooking the water. Food options on property were limited but you can get delivered from restaurants outside Stone Mountain. Service was okay, but they definitely seem short staffed on a more recent visit. read more
