Asked a bunch of questions and when I answered them she just left the room. Next thing I knew, a lovely medical assistant, Laura or Leslie, I think, came in and patiently described 2 procedures Raina set me up for. Really? Raina didn't even tell ME I was going to need them and why. Didn't even explain what was wrong with me! Why are people like this allowed to serve as doctors? Save yourself the drive. This was the first and last time I will use this practice. Originally was going to have the colonoscopy done in their facility but learned my insurance wanted me to go to a Northside Hospital facility. When they learned of this change, I suddenly had to come in for a pre-procedure appointment, which was NOT required if I used their facility (can you say "money grab"?) Filled out piles of paperwork online before my appointment only to have Dr. Raina ask me all the same questions. She was over an hour late to my appointment and obviously hadn't even looked at my information before she talked to me. I had a colonoscopy by Joel Camilo on 15th November. Several polyps were removed during the procedure. All prior gastroenterologist practices called with results within a week or two but have yet to hear anything from their office. I started calling the office in mid-December to find out the results. Every time I called I was promised a return call within 24 hours. I just completed my third conversation seeking the pathology results with the exact same promise to call back. Horrendous customer service and this practice should be avoided like the plague. Awful experience do not go here !! Daughter saw Dr Raina. Took my daughter for second opinion as she has had multiple tests for abdominal pain and this GI was rude with no bedside manner and told us what did she want us to do she could not find anything! Had a colonoscopy done there by Dr Pore. Procedure should be covered by Aetna/Medicare at no cost. Doctor coded the procedure wrong claiming I had a history of polops/cancer, I have neither one. He refuses to change the code and are billing me for $150. I along with my Insurance has made many efforts to get this corrected for 7 months but the office will not respond. Worst doctors office I have ever been to. Stay away. read more

I strongly recommend against using this business, which has gone downhill as other yelpers have reported. Scheduled appointment for March 8 but AGA's unknown 3rd party provider was unable to furnish prep materials in time for procedure. In previous years AGA provided prep info at initial appt, but no more. AGA's answering machine robots are unintelligible to any human being and evidently AGA does not monitor their portal for messages or respond. Also AGA's email server blocks messages from patients so there is no way to communicate with AGA. Stay away! Note that AGA's Laura N has responded to some yelp reviews with apologies for AGA's poor customer service. In my opinion, heads need to roll in AGA's front office & management, including Laura N if she still works there. This review is not a complaint against AGA's physicians, only A impossible communications protocols that apply to all AGA locations. read more

This was hands down the worst experience I have ever had at a doctors office. The physician I was seen by, Dr. Raina, has absolutely ZERO bedside manner. When a doctor walks into a room, I expect an introduction of SOME sort, however, the first words out of her mouth were "I can't help you". My FIRST mistake was not walking out of the appointment right then and there and demanding my copay back. She walked into the room without listening to ANY of my symptoms with her mind already made up based on (I assume) the paperwork I completed in the office. I was willing to give her another chance and practically FORCED her to listen to my symptoms, to which she INSISTED were not GI related and went on to tell me that I would just have to live with this the rest of my life, though, she couldn't tell me what "this" was. She proceeds through the "appointment" and gets a phone call to which she stares at her phone (I guess contemplating whether or not to answer the call?) and then goes on to talk about the number that has called her. (As if I care?) Finally, she ends the appointment by saying, again, there is nothing she can do with the exception of eliminating GI issues (?) and leaves the room. Then to my surprise sends the medical assistant in with an order for an endoscopy.....(mind actually blown) we NEVER even discussed having any tests run or procedures or ANYTHING of the sort. I declined the procedure in spite of the fact that I believe I do need one, however, I would NEVER EVER in a million years come back to this clinic or give you all my business. The fact that this company was actually able to collect a copay and submit a claim to my insurance company should truly be considered insurance fraud. Dr. Raina had already made up her mind about my "condition" before even walking into the room and the rest of the appointment was forced on her BY ME. I can only say how incredibly disappointed I am in the doctor, the office, and this entire company. read more

Don't come here! The nurse and doctor are horrible. Doctor performed my endoscopy then told me that they were unable to get the results because the device that was used for the endoscopy test was broken, which means that I went through the painful process of putting a tube through my mouth, down my throat, and into my esophagus for NOTHING. And to make matters worse, Doctor had say there's nothing wrong me. I can not believe how incompetent this doctor is. How can he know that there's nothing wrong with me if he was unable to obtain my test results? Also, the customer service here is terrible. I arrived right on time for my appointment, completed all the necessary paperwork, and wasn't seen by the doctor until 2 hours later. I'm going to guess these folks either are or believe they are the only game in town. At the moment I am sitting in a tiny PACKED waiting room (one lady is actually sitting on the floor) with signs that read the following..."No WiFi Available" and "please limit cell phone use to urgent calls only" and "All drivers must stay DURING the procedure. Leaving WILL result in a delay of the procedure". None of these things individually are out of the ordinary but seriously to say you MUST stay, but we're not going to provide seating or wifi isn't exactly the best. The staff is fine, doctor has seemed plenty competent in all of our current and previous dealings, but the cost to make this a comfortable atmosphere for their patients is so minimal... Even just offering WiFi when you're holding someone hostage for 2 hours would go a long way. read more

I came here for years due to an autoimmune disease and stomach ulcers. When I started having pain, I went back. They did an endoscopy, a colonoscopy, and essentially called me a liar. Sent me for a bunch of unnecessary tests while I was on disability and out of work. At the end, cut me off of my pain killers cold turkey and called me a liar. They gave up on me. One call to another doctor, one test, and my completely failed gallbladder was removed- they never even checked besides looking for gallstones (I was 25). I had my first appointment with Dr. Dong yesterday at the Johns Creek location. The office is clean, and the staff were all very friendly. I was nervous, as I've seen other Gastroenterologists, trying to find the "right" one, and always left feeling disappointed with their bedside manner (important to me) or lack of help. Dr. Dong was AMAZING. He was so kind, helpful, inquisitive about my condition (ulcerative colitis), and informative. The appointment was not rushed at all, and Dr. Dong came in with the intent to fully understand my symptoms/condition. He took his time, answered all of my questions, and made sure I understood the plan moving forward. I'm so glad he is a part of the AGA team of providers and thankful for his knowledge and friendly, welcoming disposition. read more

Insurance company needs signed paperwork from the doctors office and they simply never responded. There is something funny about this company. They called and said that we had a refund and that they had been trying to get in touch with my sister for a long time. The lady's name was Tracy Walker and she said she had been calling my sister for a long time. She was lying and asking for my sister's birth date and last four of her social security number. i fell for this scam and gave her the information. On 10/16/2017 I had an appointment with Dr. Raina at Atl Gastro. A few months prior my dermatologist had diagnosed me with celiac disease and recommended I see a gastroenterologist. I had no stomach symptoms so I thought that was weird but I was having trouble getting information about my new diagnosis so I decided to make an appointment. When I called I explained my situation to the scheduling person and asked specifically for a doctor that was knowledgeable about celiac disease considering I did not have any stomach symptoms but was told that this was my diagnosis. I asked her if there was someone there that would be able to help me even though I was not having stomach problems and I was assured that there was. She booked my appointment with Dr. Raina. I arrived 30 minutes early as instructed and ended up waiting two hours but that is barely worth noting considering the rest of my experience. When the doctor finally walked in the first things out of her mouth were " why are you here? I cannot help you for a skin rash. Are you lost?" I was so taken aback to be talked to this rudely and I explained why I was there. I told her I thought that was an incredibly unprofessional and rude way to speak to me. She said I'm sorry I thought you were maybe lost because there is a dermatologist office a few buildings over. I explained to her that I was not an idiot and didn't sit in a place called Atlanta Gastroenterology for 2 hours and fill out all of the paperwork labeled "Atlanta gastro" to actually be trying to see a dermatologist. She said she could not help me and to come back if I had any stomach problems. She also made me feel uncomfortable for bringing my two-year-old daughter for which I am the sole caretaker, but again that is hardly worth mentioning based on the rest of my experience. I wish that I would have demanded to speak to her supervisor right then but I was so flustered and upset I just wanted to get out of there. On 10/18/2017 I called and asked to speak to the office manager. I regret that I lost my notes and no longer has his name but he is the office manager for the Suwanee Johns Creek office. I explained what had happened and he apologized profusely and asked how he could make it right. I told him that I did not want to be billed for this appointment considering the doctor did not even examine me before telling me that she could not help me, and that I would appreciate if he talked to the dr. about the way that she spoke to paying clients. I was a social worker and know how to advocate for myself, but some people would not feel comfortable having to advocate for themselves and therefore not get the treatment that they may need if they were treated that way by a doctor who is in a position of authority. He assured me that he would talk to her and that I would not be billed and he would check back in with me a few days later. He never called me back but based on our conversation I assumed that that was the last I would be hearing from them. I was very surprised to receive a bill the next month. I immediately called the billing line listed (6782237788) and was unable to reach a person so I left a message. No one called me back. I called again the next week and no one called me back. In the message I explained what had happened and said that they should contact the office manager and so when they did not call me back I assumed they had spoken with him and it was taken care of. I received a bill every single month starting in November until present day. I have left dozens of messages and have never once gotten a call back. On the few times that I have called and been able to speak to someone (by calling the Dr office directly, not the billing number, I have never once gotten a human to lock up the phone when calling the billing lime) including the office manager I probably spoke to, I was reassured that my case was being escalated to their manager and someone would call me back to fix it. To this day I have never been called back. I have sent emails to the email listed (billing@galenadvisors.com) and also have been told my case needs to be transferred and someone will contact me. I have even called my insurance and they have called them with me to try and get a person on the phone or to call back and they have been unsuccessful as well. The last information I have as of my call on 3/21/18 is that the patient advocate supervisor Tracy Walker and her supervisor Tracy ( they refused to give me her last name) would be in touch within 24 hours and if I had not heard anything then I should call them back. They gave me the number for Tracy and I did not hear anything after 36 hours so I called back and left a message on 3/23/18. When I got home that day I also had a final notice from Atlanta Gastroenterology billing department saying that if I did not pay then my credit would be affected so I called back and left another message pleading for them to call me back. They are apparently clueless. The receptionist took my drivers license and put the wrong address in to the system. I reviewed paperwork and corrected my address. I even told the receptionist the address was wrong. Well she failed to correct it. So now all the different departments pathology, anesthesia, physicians, and every other department has my wrong address. Now I'm afraid I'm not getting bills and some stuff might end up in collections. I went to the office and spoke to the manager. He said I don't have the number to call the different departments you might get bills from. Refused to take ownership of THEIR error. Very upset these people are going to ruin my credit because I can't get bills so I can pay them. read more

I saw Dr. Pore after a flareup of my hiatal hernia. He only spent about 1 minute in the same room as me before he said we need to schedule a endoscopy and colonoscopy but during that minute I explained to him very directly that my job will not allow me to take time off for the procedure unless he filled out FMLA paperwork that I handed him. After 2 weeks and many phone calls he faxed it in having only signed the bottom and hasn't corrected it even after I asked him to. Appointment cancelled. read more

Here I sit waiting on my wife's procedure. Sign on check in window says "driver must stay during procedure". Ok. Well I have waited before. But, then I see the next sign on the check in window and it says "No WiFi Available ". What? In today's world? My wait is supposed to be 2 hours. The most incompetent scheduling staff I have EVER dealt with... I might have to find a doctor as I am simply can't get a workable time scheduled for a colonoscopy. When you tell the nurse to her face "I need the large cuff" when she is taking your blood pressure...and she takes it anyway (and it comes up HIGH), She then leaves, I ask where she is going? This place is HORRIBLE. I have been going for several years because it was close and I needed some answers. Every time I go, it seems that Dr. Sanchez gives a sample of medication..."Try this and see me in three weeks" or "try this and see how it works and come back and see me in three weeks". Nothing worked. I was wasting time and money. This last time I went to see her for Gallbladder attacks. She put me on Nexium and wanted me to get an ultrasound. I did the ultrasound on Monday. The results were available and sent to her on Tuesday. By Thursday I had no call and went and got the results myself from the imaging center and saw I had multiple gallstones. I also made an appointment with another practice as I was done with them never responding and seemingly lack of care. I called again on Friday and left yet another message telling them that I was "disappointed" (to say the least) and that I would be going to see another doctor. The doctor's assistant called me back that afternoon to tell me that Dr. Sanchez was "busy" and that she hoped I would have an answer by end of day. The Doctor's Assistant called back a few hours later and told me what I already knew...I had gallstones and Dr. Sanchez wanted me to see a surgeon. That was it. Well I went to see another doctor today and he does know I have gallstones but doesn't want to jump to an immediate gallbladder removal. He has ordered more tests to see if it is anything else that is causing these attacks. I got more out of him in 20 minutes than three years with this awful place. Please do NOT go to AGA. They must think they are the only Gastroenterology Practice around and everyone is a waste of their time. I have nothing good to say about them. I am glad that Dr. Sanchez couldn't call me back herself and that she was immediate to refer me to a surgeon...NOT. I am so glad I got a second opinion. In fact, I have yet to know someone that can say a good word about this practice. read more

I don't know about the other locations but our treatment at the Johns Creek office was shameful. My son went to the Johns Creek office for acid reflux. They immediately wanted to do an outpatient surgery without looking for other causes. We called at least ten times to see what our portion of the cost would be. Our calls were transferred to the billing office voice mail. We left at least 10 messages and those calls were never returned. What awful customer service! Staff is very nice and competent. Two things need correcting. 1) No wifi. Everyone has someone to drive them and they have to sit there without internet. Who doesn't have WiFi today? 2) the after hours number is not manned after 11 pm. Instructions specifically instructed to call at midnight if I hadn't reached a specific milestone, however, no one was available to answer the call. As it turns out, since 9/18/18, all of the charges have been adjusted with the insurance company, and Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates has overcharged me by $542, and owes that amount back to me. I called to inquire why after a MONTH, I've received no credit balance statement or actual refund. The response of "Nikki" at their billing company (Galen Advisors - and Nikki was the 'over-talker' who doesn't listen to clients) was that it "is their protocol to not check patient statements for credit balances even though charges are split up by the practice across multiple billing entities; and that they don't process credit refunds until the patient CALLS THEM for the refund". Remember, they don't send a statement showing a credit...so you better know your stuff, or they can keep your money virtually forever. I demanded the refund, and she gave me the "well we have to turn it over to quality assurance, and then it will be processed through Northside Hospital, and it will be 3 to 4 weeks for the check to be issued". So they held my money for 60 days, their books proved that they owned me a refund for the last 30 days, and now I have to wait ANOTHER 30 days to simply get the money back FOR SERVICES NEVER RENDERED. I have waited over 2 weeks for biopsy results for a colonoscopy only to get calls back saying that the doctor still hasn't looked over them. Don't state that you will have it by the end of the day and then not call back for 5 days. Completely unprofessional. Also told I would be receiving a call for another procedure I had to do and after going 6 days in horrendous pain I called them, to hear no apology. Rude staff, unprofessional doctors. read more
