This park / stadium was very big and pretty clean this was my first time here and I'll probably be back. They had the stadium area that lead to the soccer field and plenty of bleachers which i probably wanna come back here to workout.They have a concession stand that was pretty good they had fries, burgers and a few other things but the best was that they sold alcohol beer and regular alcohol. read more

This was my first visiting the venue, I was there for a neighborhood meeting. We entertained in the Willy B's sports bar. The staff was super helpful and friendly. The food and drinks were what you would expect form a bar but was hot and tasty. Their beer selection is quite good as well. The sports venue was hopping with adult soccer league matches and lacrosse clubs were holding practice. Be cautious of having to pay to get into the park, not sure of the cost since our event was prepaid. I would definitely be back to watch a Silver Backs match. read more

So apparently I am the duchess here which is silly. But that means it is probably time to write a review. I am specifically reviewing the professional team and their stadium. I don't want to subject anyone to the secondhand embarrassment of me playing soccer. I have come now for one of the US Open Cup game against the Chicago Fire, an MLS team, and then two regular NASL season games against the Silverbacks' typical opponents. The game against the Fire was definitely a bit different - first and foremost the place was PACKED. But this does not seem to be a typical thing. I took Uber over since I did not realize you had to pay to park and had no cash on me, and I waited over an hour to leave because there is only one way out there were lots of people leaving. It wasn't too far different from their typical games, just that a lot more people showed up. One of the things that has me really addicted to coming here is that you can go on the field after to waste time before leaving, and a majority of the players hang around to talk and take pictures and the like (as you can see from my profile picture). This even happened at the game against the Fire WITH players from the Fire so that was pretty cool. However can't say that has happened with any regular opponents, though I'm not sure they have as much name power or anything. I sit (technically stand) with one of the supporter groups at the stadium - there are 3, I think, each in a different corner. There's a bit of animosity which is unfortunate, but thankfully it's just like internet animosity and I've not noticed anyone being dicks to each other's faces in person (so far). If you're interested in this kind of thing I would just search around the internet and try out groups, though seating is pretty open (completely general admission) so you can move around and see where you like it if that's your thing. Which leads me to the other thing I love, that the players let you know they appreciate you. This seems like a soccer-centric thing because let me tell you, even being a hardcore Thrashers fan, none of them were even 1/16 as appreciative as some of these guys are. So many thank yous, so many high fives, it's fun to know I can go out to a sporting event on a weekend and actually mean something to a team beyond cash. Also they do $3 draft beer specials. If any of my awesome yelper friends want to come out with me sometime, let me know! IT'S A BLAST. If you want more soccer post-World Cup, it's on a different level but it's actually way more enjoyable, and best of all it's RIGHT here. It's not hard to find tickets for $10-13, but keep in mind parking is $10 cash. Tailgating is allowed and seems to be encouraged, last week we totally had a Dekalb cop join in at ours haha. You can't beat the location either, it's easily accessible from 85 and 285 via Chamblee Tucker. ROTD discovery shameless plug: seriously come out this weekend!! One of Atlanta's professional sports teams that flies below the radar of the average sports fan. The Silverbacks actually brought the first professional sports championship to Atlanta. Silverbacks games are a very family friendly option for sports since the cost is low in comparison to the other professional teams in Atlanta. Plus, since the stadium is pretty small (expansions will eventually have it up to 15,000 seats) it's a close view of the action. The Silverbacks play in the first division of the USL, and I'd definitely recommend checking out a game, especially if you've never seen professional soccer in person. Like hockey, you get a much better feel for the game and the speed involved when you see it live. read more

I've played 2 seasons for the 7v7 all-women's Thursday night league, and I have to say it was one of the poorest run adult leagues I've ever participated in. Poor communication. Numerous forfeits due to lack of participation, and therefore money wasted. 10:30 night games. Seriously? I love soccer and I love playing, but I also have a life and need sleep to be able to live it. Terrible officiating. Lazy refs who are late and only bring one ball to a game so we encounter massive stoppage time while they search the hill for the ball. And refs who cut the game short thinking we won't notice. Super unhappy with my experiences here as a player. read more

Atlanta Silverbacks Stadium is nice. I play in a rec soccer league here, and I really enjoy it. It's a little out of the city, but it's a nice way to spend a weekday night getting some exercise and hanging out with friends for a bit. Easy on/easy off I-85, which is nice. The refs are pretty good, and the staff is nice and friendly. I forgot my socks one week, and they gave me a pair! It's a bummer that you have to pay $2 to park every time you come to play on top of the league fee. Overall, I've had a good experience here though. read more

I enjoy playing in the co-ed league on Tuesday night, but the refs are complete idiots. I play goalkeeper and they NEVER protect us. You'll get a good mix of people who have played for many years and morans who don't know what they're doing out there. read more

I am a media guy, making the video highlights from the home games for YouTube. My perspective is a bit different than the average Joe would have since I wear the "Holy Cow" media badge and have access to some privileges At the moment the Silverbakcs seem to at the top of the game, but the consequences of this popularity are not all that great. During the recent home game with Tampa Bay Rowdies the stadium was under siege. The official numbers for the audience (and the audience knows better not to take these number seriously) were at 5700. That meant many standing places only for the "Johnny come lately" crowd. Although the right crowd makes for 50% of the game experience (and that night it did), the place was a pandemonium. A very experienced parking crew had panic in their eyes, not knowing exactly where to fit all these extra cars (there no numbered slots). The traffic continued until 20 minutes into the game, and many cars were turning around. Only those that arrived at least an hour earlier had a chance to park their cars in regular, not too chaotic manner (the club had suggested an early arrival). There are only two gates for ticketing, and during well attended games it looks a bit like a bottle neck. The quality of food and the access to it keeps improving since 2011. Bathrooms is a separate issue and at times the odor from them is as thick as the smoke from the Atlanta Ultras section. The departure is assisted by the DeKalb police, and these guys seem to be doing a pretty darn good job. Still, you would need up to 20-25 minutes after the game to leave the parking (some folks jump the gun by leaving before the final whistle). If the home team will continue their great performance this place may become a nuisance in very short few months. Atlanta is in a big need for high quality soccer/football and this place is simply not big enough for the expected growth. read more

The most god awful pollutant of noise to ever plague the area. They blast bass filled what ever the hell music they want on the weekends, games go on longer than they need to, esp after the city noise ordinance. Have no regard for the neighborhood that sits but a few yards behind it, my house being one of them, the stadium lights aren't so much a bother, it's the fucking noise they give off. It's 10am on thanksgiving day....which is most people's only time to sleep in and enjoy a quiet morning outside of our/their usual early work life. Which mine starts at 6am so 10am for me is a blessing to be able to sleep in. So for them to be that aggravating is blood boiling. Yes, I'm ranting and being a bitch about it, but fuck this stadium. read more

I've been playing soccer at Atlanta Silverbacks on Tuesday nights for the past three years. They do a great job organizing the leagues and the refs are pretty good (some better than others which is the norm in any soccer league). The fields are turf and are kept in great shape. They have a nice little bar/restaurant, which is great for watching soccer after you've played. They have a decent beer selection, and I haven't tried the food, but it appears to be normal bar food fare. As far as the pro team goes, the games are exciting and much more reasonably priced than any other competitive sports league in the area. I would definitely recommend taking Uber or Lyft to games, as the parking situation is heinous and pricey (and why I took off a star in this review). One cool thing about the games is many of the players will stick around after the game and sign autographs/interact with fans. Who knows, you may get to meet the new big soccer star. They also have beer specials during these games ($3 drafts last game I went to). I'm not sure if these specials will change with new management (the team was just bought by a new owner), so stay tuned. Overall, I recommend the soccer leagues and pro games at Atlanta Silverbacks, but be aware of the parking situation. read more

What used to be a great destination has descended into pure garbage. I finally decided to get back into playing after a hiatus and man have they turned into a bare bones operation. At least parking is a little bit better and marked properly so you can avoid the parking Nazi that cruises the complex. Yes, you will get ticketed if you park illegally. That's more guaranteed than finding an actual employee with a clue. Upon arriving, I had absolutely no idea where I would be playing my game. I checked the website. No dice. Looked around for a complex map. No dice again. I even looked in a couple of garbage cans hoping for a brochure that may have been tossed. Less dice than a Vegas cooler. In my moment of epiphany, I decided to hunt down a park employee. Nary to be found! Here's a couple of ideas. First, have a park attendant that is actually working instead of roaming around like a lost puppy. Second, have a nice big map showing the locations of the fields since they all have snazzy names matching up with their sponsors. Third, have a map on your third-rate website so I don't have to get out a compass and Google maps to even have a chance of finding a field. A forty-six mile round trip can't be justified for this low rate facility. I'll stick to pick up games at Piedmont Park because people show and it's more fun. Based upon my other observations, the referees really could care less about doing their job properly. Only one ball per game. The game surface maybe turf fields but they definitely need a full upgrade. It's no wonder we can't attract a MLS team here. This is what the city has to offer up as an incentive. Yet another winner of my 3P award. Piss. Poor. Pathetic. read more

Went to the Silverbacks soccer game this past Saturday night. It is a big change from Hawks or Falcon games, not because it is outside, but because it's not as "professional". We enjoyed our experience and found ourselves rooting for the opposite team, Tampa, since they were way better than our home team. I would suggest eating before going and bringing a couple dollars for drinks. Great for kids. My 9 year old had a blast! read more

They've just built a nice bar and closed in eating area so now I think they can spend the extra $ on some new grass. Food is descent but pricey, but hey, you don't come here to eat, you come to play soccer! Again, get some new turf! Lol Parking always sucks. This review is for the 7v7 soccer leagues that the Atlanta Silverbacks puts on. I've played in multiple leagues indoor and out and this is by far the best thing going in metro atlanta. They have co ed, mens and mens over 30. Played on Tues, Wed, and Thursdays during the week. Facilities are great(you play on the new field turf, its what the Falcons play on). You also play with full size goals. Field are 70 x 50 yds. I played in the Mens league and it has great competition with 5 divisions with varying skill levels so there is a spot for everyone. read more

This review is for the park, not the team. I have been to the Silverbacks' games and I have also played for a few years in 7v7 leagues here. The four fields at the front are terrible (maybe because they are used for parking on game day) and when it rains they tend to bubble up in some places and puddle up in others. The new fields up top and the stadium fields are much better, and if your team is better than most this is where you will play. The league management isn't great, lately we only get a game time set the night before our game, sometimes the officiating is poor or the official shows up late, but in the end I still get to play and that's what matters. There are tons of people who play here and a variety of league choices (different days, all male all female or co-ed, over-30, etc) so there should be something for everyone. Early game time is 6:30 pm and latest is 10:15 pm but they try to mix up start times. Since there is no map to be found to let you know which field is which maybe this info will help: Starting from the road nearest the entrance is Floor & Decor A then B, then Cocacola A then B. There are banners on the light poles with the sponsors. Up top are the Renegade fields A&B and inside the stadium are called Stadium fields A&B. read more

The fields have been here for at least a decade and need to be replaced. They just keep throwing more rubber pellets down, so much the a teammate slipped on it like he hit a puddle of water. They don't care since there is a waiver but the fields are dangerous and unpleasant to play on. read more

The field and stadium are nice enough but the food, if you can call it that, is hideous. I just paid $11 for what was supposed to be a cheeseburger and fries. I'm not sure what kind of 'meat' the burger was made of but it was too disgusting to eat. The fries didn't even taste good. Total waste of money. read more

This review isn't for the semi-professional soccer club. This is for the 7v7 men's league that plays Wednesday nights. At first glance this place seems like a soccer players wet dream. Turf fields for as far as the eyes can see. We have played there for about 3 years solid now and this might be my last season. I have been playing since I was 7 (mid 20's now) and really love the sport. Playing here makes me want to quit. They added a new set of fields high on a hill but have provided no netting around the field to stop errant shots past the goals. It slows the game down too much and I think they want us to start chasing the balls. Get real, we pay you too provide a service. I don't go to a bar and make my own drink. We have also had to provide a ball or two for match play when there are no more to be found. Again, why are we paying every season if we have to provide match balls? I hope they fix this soon. If you are thinking about joining a team here I would visit the fields and see for yourself. This is just a fair warning. Hopefully changes will be made and I can turn this frown upside down and write a better review. read more
